Chapter 24: A Family Reunited
"I…am?" Bright asked, still stunned.
"Yes," Helia said. "For the moment, I thought it would be you, Bright. You're our long-lost son, and heir of the Arctic Scar people."
"Whoa, Bright's a future chief?" Snotlout said, amazed. "That actually sounds pretty cool, if you ask me."
"Would you be quiet?" Astrid asked him. "Let them have their moment, Snotlout."
Snotlout sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck, chuckling nervously.
Bright looked at Hiccup, who was smiling. "Did you know I would be a future chief, Hicc?"
"No, not quite," Hiccup replied with a shake of his head. "It's still amazing that your father's a chief. I honestly thought he would be someone else. No offense, of course, Chief Magnus."
"None taken," Magnus said. "I am just happy that we're reunited with our son after fourteen years."
"What have you been doing all this time, son?" Helia asked.
Bright shifted on his feet, "Can we do this in private? I'd like to tell you everything, but not in public."
"Sure thing, son," Magnus nodded. "Come with me, to our house."
Bright felt Helia release him, and then joined his human father, walking alongside his parents to their house. Luna had joined them, by the time they arrived at the house.
"If it's all right with you, son, your dragon sister can join us," Magnus said. "After seeing how close you two are to each other, I'd thought it would be a shame if she wasn't around."
Both Bright and Luna smiled thankfully at him.
"We've got a lot to talk about," Magnus continued. "After what has transpired in these fourteen years since we lost you, Bright."
"Alright," Bright nodded.
"Is there anything I must hear?" Luna asked her brother.
"Well…their story after I was taken by our dad," Bright replied.
"Although we can't fully understand your language to each other, may I ask if it's the Dragonese tongue?" Magnus asked.
Bright blinked. "How'd you know about Dragonese…dad?" He looked for the right word, since his real father was in front of him.
"I learned it from a friend," Magnus smiled. "A human named Arne, in fact. He came here a few times before he chose to remain somewhere on an island, to look out for someone."
"That was the Dragon Nest," Bright explained. "I was the one who he wanted to look after."
"Ah," Magnus smiled, opening the door to the house. "I see. Well, since he was with you all the time, and I'm thankful for him to teach you Norse to understand humans, then I've got nothing bad on him for not showing up any more."
They came inside the house, and Bright looked around, inspecting his former household. He walked forward, seeing the items were hanging on the walls were still intact. He looked forward, seeing a cradle in the middle of the room.
"Was that…?" Bright started.
"Where you were taken," Helia sighed.
"We feared the worse, when the Light Fury came in here," Magnus added. "At first, we thought—"
"You thought it would attack and hurt him, Magnus," Helia interrupted.
"Right, I forgot," Magnus chuckled nervously. "When the Light Fury was near you, and I saw your mother stepping in to protect you, I chose to do the same, since you were important to the tribe. You were our future chief, the one who is destined to lead the people. However…we were too late when I accidentally—"
"'Accidentally'?" Helia raised a brow.
"When I lashed out," Magnus corrected himself, "I thought it would hurt the two of you, but the dragon didn't move. I was curious as to why it wouldn't attack you both, but that was when it took you, son."
"Really?" Bright asked, his curiosity increasing. "That's why my dragon father took me?"
"Didn't you know about that, brother?" Luna inquired. "He told you when you were but four years old."
"Oh, right…" Bright chuckled, while his parents looked inquisitively at him.
"What did she say?" Helia asked.
"Just about if I remembered something along those lines, Dad just spoke," Bright answered. He was still feeling strange to know they were his parents after this long, and he surely was feeling torn.
"I see."
Magnus cleared his throat. "Anyway, while we're happy to have been reunited with you, Bright, we'd like for you and your friends to join us in a celebration festival that's going to take place."
"Sure," Bright nodded. "I will tell Hiccup about this, then."
"Good," Magnus smiled. "And I will send a messenger to Stoick about your stay for a while."
"You will enjoy this, son," Helia added. "It will be good for you, and us, of course."
"Sure, Mom," Bright said with a nod.
After the explanation, Bright went outside, with Luna following beside him. Hiccup and Toothless spotted them as soon as they were out of the house.
"So, what are we going to do?" Hiccup asked.
"Are we going to return to Berk, now that you've found your parents, Bright?" Fishlegs added curiously.
"No, Fishlegs," Bright replied. "We're going to celebrate with them in a festival in regard to my return."
"A festival celebration?" Toothless looked intrigued. "Sounds like fun!"
"I know, Toothless," Stormfly added. "It would be interesting to celebrate with the Arctic Scar tribe for having their heir returned."
"If you ask me, then it would be good to relax for once," Hookfang stated.
"Indeed, we have been flying for many days," Meatlug concluded.
Bright heard their words spoken between themselves. He smiled at the dragons, then looked back at Hiccup, telling him: "My dad will be sending word to yours, Hiccup, about this celebration."
"Good thing, too," Hiccup agreed. "He's probably worried about where we've been since we left."
"I thought you did tell him that?" Bright raised a brow.
"Well…" Hiccup shifted on his feet. "We were in a rush to find your parents, so…I didn't let him know."
Bright sighed.
"You are so hopeless sometimes, Hiccup," Astrid stated.
"Hey, what do you mean, 'sometimes'?" Hiccup asked her curiously.
"You know," she rolled her eyes.
"Oh, right…" Hiccup laughed nervously.
Soon, Magnus joined them, announcing: "My messenger has sent word to Chief Stoick about your stay here for a while."
"Great!" Hiccup sighed in relief.
"Thanks, Dad," Bright added.
"It's no problem, son," Magnus smiled at Bright. "I'd do anything for you and your friends."
"Then what are we waitin' for?!" Ruffnut started.
"Let's celebrate!" Tuffnut finished.
Magnus chuckled heartily. "The festival won't happen until everything's setup. So, what are you just standing there for? Get to work, young Vikings!"
"Yes, sir!" the twins saluted.
Bright and the others laughed.

Final Author's Notes:
Hi, everyone! This is the first fanfiction book that I have completed. I can't believe my own eyes that I wrote this book in three months! That's the fastest story I've ever written in less amount of time than having it continued with no end. Now, there are a few words I want to say before you comment.
Firstly, I want to say that I've been thinking of extending some scenes in the first three chapters and most of the "Origin of Bright" arc. So, if you see the word count being extended, that would be the reason.
Secondly, I've always been wanting to tell a great story for HTTYD, and this book is just the beginning of that story. "Path of a Dragon Rider" is the continuation of the story of Bright and Luna. I won't say much about it just yet, due to it hasn't been written (AKA, it's in the idea phase).
That's about it for now. I hope you guys enjoyed this book of the "Siblings of Light" series. There's more to come, I promise you that, readers.
