Arizona POV
I've been thinking about how to tell Leah what happened with Cassie, it's not like i wanted it or did anything for her to kiss me but i have a feeling that this might be too much, too soon for Leah. At the end of the day i'm the one that was engaged for a long time and she might feel like there is some sort of feelings there.
it's Thursday today and we finally were able to plan a dinner together, so tonight i plan on telling her and i'm hoping it goes better than i am thinking.

Seriously? this girl is everything i want and more. We have been talking for a month or so and it feels like we've known each other for a lot longer, i'm so anxious about tonight but only because I don't know what the outcome will be, i just really hope she doesn't leave or wants to stop talking to me completely, she has to work later tonight so she won't be staying with me and it worries me that once she's at work she will have time to think about it and might decide that the whole situation is too much to deal with, which I wouldn't blame her for but i really hope that's not the case.
My class is her next one so i will be seeing her here in a little bit, so i try to think about something else.
I'm writing the lesson plan on the board when she comes in so I don't see her walk in but she's laughing and it makes me smile, i would know that laugh anywhere.
When i turn around i'm in awe when our eyes meet, she's wearing her hair in some kind of braids that frame her face perfectly, they make her look younger and adorable, it takes me a second to realize we are not alone and my students are waiting on me to start the lesson.
"Hello everyone, 2 more days for the weekend and this is your last class today so let's make this happen" i say before turning on the monitor to start todays lesson.
While i explain everything Leah's eyes are on me, she's checking me out and i don't know if she realizes i'm able to tell, but yeah she's definitely checking my choice of outfit today, nothing special just black dress pants with a dark blue button up shirt and matching black heels, i had my blazer on but it's the end of the day.
I didn't feel any kind of way about my outfit today but seeing how she's watching me makes me think i should put more effort into what i'm wearing.
The rest of the class goes smooth, i take my chances and watch Leah while she's working, she's truly breathtaking beautiful, her dark brown hair contrasts with her skin amazingly, she tends to bite her inner bottom lip when she's thinking or focusing and i find it adorable, for a second she takes her eyes away from her work and stares into my eyes, she realizes i was watching her which makes her smile, and for a split second is only us in the room, starting at each others and smiling, so much in such a small gesture.
After school i had a staff meeting so I didn't get to see Leah leaving since my class was finished by a sub, as soon as my staff meeting ends i try calling her.
"Hi" she says as soon as the call connects.
"What are you doing?" i ask nonchalant
"Finishing some homework and watching TV, where did you go?" she says with a bored tone of voice
"Staff meeting, i just got done with it, i'm starving so i will pick up something and then head home, see you later right?" i ask again, I don't know why im feeling so weird about this, but i'm not looking forward to the conversation that we are going to have.
"What about now?" she says and it makes me smile "come over, i can get something started"
"Well it's only 2 hours before so yeah, but don't worry about making anything, i'll pick up something, what are you in the mood for?"
"Asian?"
"Asian sounds good to me, i know a place, it's a little far but it's worth it, i'll see you in a little bit"
"sounds perfect to me, apartment 313, the code is 7737#"
"I didn't even know there was a code" i say laughing
"you've been here one time and you were really drunk so how would you know" she says laughing too
"ugh don't remind me of that"
"why? after all it was the night we met" she says and it makes me smile
"i wish it was different" i say
"I don't, we wouldn't be here without that part" she says and i smile even wider, worry settling in my stomach, this conversation needs to happen soon so we can continue being this great.
"well that is true, but i'm sure I would've found you somehow anyway" i say and she giggles
"where is your head today? we would've met in your classroom, after all i would still be your student"
"i keep forgetting about that part, I'm heading to the restaurant by the way, I didn't had time to change clearly"
"no need for that, i like your outfit" she says and i smile again
"you do?" i decide to not point out how i noticed she was checking me out today, i rather she doesn't know i can tell so i'm able to watch her do it.
"Yes, you have the hot professor thing going" she says and i laugh
"I'm glad my outfits are ok for you"
"more than ok, i'll see you when you get here, I don't want to be a distraction while you're driving"
"ok, see you in a bit"
"can't wait" she says before hanging up and it leaves me with butterflies in my stomach
After the call with Leah, i feel great about us however i'm still anxious about telling her the Cassie situation, i just hope she believes me and trusts that it's not what I want.
Arriving to her apartment complex, it might have been the fact that i was drunk and sleeping the first time i came here but this is nice, she lives in a great area, close enough to university but not many students can afford a place in here, which works great for me since i was hoping to not run into any of them, putting the code to enter the building, i'm shocked that the first time i came here I didn't noticed just how nice it is, i mean we did leave through a different area because there is no way i would miss this.
The lobby is huge, high ceilings for an office and open windows that face a artificial lake in the middle of the complex, heading to the front desk there is a blonde girl behind a computer.
"Hi, visiting?" she ask with a polite smile
"Yes, Apartment 313" i say smiling back, she picks up the phone to confirm
" i have a visitor for you" she says with her polite tone again "perfect, she's coming right up" she says smiling again and stands up to let me go through a gate that gives access to the elevators
When i reach the elevators there is an old guy, dressed in the same colors the girl from the front desk was.
"Floor?" he says smiling
"3rd please" i say smiling back and he holds the elevator open for me "thank you have a great day"
"Have a great day, ma'am" he says smiling before the elevator closes
Leah POV
I hear a knock on my door and i almost run to open it, she's here, in my apartment where we don't have to act any kind of way. Opening the door i see she's holding a bag of food with one hand and a single rose in the other.
"This is for you" she says handing me the rose and i can feel my face immediately blush
"Thank you beautiful and Please come in" I say, and as soon as she does i take the food from her hand and set it in my dinning table, doing it as fast as i can because all i want is to kiss her right now.
"How was your d..." she starts asking but i interrupt her by kissing her, the kiss becomes deeper and we both are battling for control, before i realize she pulls away.
"that's some welcoming, and if you don't stop we won't be eating any food" she says smiling
"that doesn't sound like the worst idea ever" i say and she laughs, her laugh is so contagious that it makes me smile.
"This is some good Asian food, best in all of New York" she says walking towards the table, and she's acting odd i'm not sure what it is but something is in her mind.
"Is everything ok Arizona?" I ask and her face goes pale.
"Yes and no, but can we eat first" she asks and there is no way i can say no to her.
"fine, but you look worried, should i be worried?" i ask and she gives me a not sure kinda look.
I set the table up (the obnoxious dinning table that was absoultely not necesary until my parents came to visit and got one because they refused to have dinner at the kitchen island), Arizona is sitting at the head of the table and i'm sitting to her right, i like that, this is how my parents sit, father always at the main/head chair and mother to his right.
We eat in peace, talking here and there about our day but i'm anxious about what we have to talk about, nothing has happened with me or to me so i know its nothing that she's bother by, but she seems worried and i automatically think about the meeting she had with her ex wife last Monday, it's only been 3 days and we have talked but not enough since then so i'm hoping is nothing i should be worried about.
"so what's up, you look worried" i say and she sets her fork down, grabbing both plates to take to the sink but i grab her wrist to stop her. "That can wait, what is it?" and her face is pale, she's not even looking at me and now i'm really worried "Did something happened with Cassie?"
she lets a breath out and sits down again.
"before you say anything please let me explain everything" she says with a pleading look and I'm nodding, maybe she thought about it and wants to be back with her, she reaches for my hand and i let her grab it, setting them up in between us, her hands are sweating and that's weird, she must be anxious too, so i try to prepare myself for the worst.
"So i saw Cassie on Monday right, she went to my house and we had the videocall with the bank, we separated everything now and there is nothing else that ties me to her..." she takes a deep breath before continuing and she's staring at our hands "Before leaving she asked me if i was completely sure and if i was with someone and i told her that i am talking to someone and that I don't want to mess that up..." she continues and i can see her making this longer than it has to be.
"What happened Arizona?" i ask and she's still watching our hands without looking at me she finally tells me.
"She kissed me" there it is, that's what i was worried about, i can feel my heart getting heavy and i let go of her hand, I don't know how i manage to speak but I do.
"And you realize she's who you want to be with and you're here to tell me?" I say, tears are threatening to come and i know she can see my eyes getting glossy so i try to look everywhere but her face.
"What? no, Leah never, i would never leave you for anyone, specially her" that's not what i was expecting to hear but its a relief, however it doesn't change the fact that her ex had her lips all over hers and that pisses me off.
"Are you sure Arizona, are you sure you didn't want her kiss?" i ask as low as i possibly can, still looking everywhere but her face
"I didn't feel anything Leah, not one thing, all i could think about was how i was going to explain this to you, without you asking me to never talk to you again" i look up and there is a tear running down her face
"Please don't cry" i say and she nods, wiping her tear away "As far as you tell me i am who you want to be with and this will never happen again with anyone but specially not your ex, i can try and see past it" i say giving her a small smile
"God you are truly perfect" she says letting go of my hands and covering her face with both of her hands "I thought you were going to ask me to leave and never talk to you, i was ready to be heartbroken" she says and to my surprise more tears are running down her face when she pulls her hands away.
"Hey, look at me" i get up while I'm talking, not losing eye contact i push her chair slightly backways so i can sit in her lap facing her, and now she's really looking at me "It will take a lot more than a bitter and desperate ex to break us, i'm with you and you are with me, we have so many other things to think about Cassie isn't one of my worries, she had her chance and she fucked it up, it's my turn to have my chance now" i say before kissing her, deeply, there is nothing sexual about this kiss, it's a reassuring kiss i don't ever want her to feel like she can't talk to me, and i'm honest when i say i'm not worried about Cassie, however i am jealous, i'm mad and jealous about her even breathing to close to Arizona.

Arizona's POV
