A good four years had passed since the death of Apophis parents. He was now ten years old with slightly longer and darker green hair than it was four years ago. It hasn't been the easiest surviving on his own in the cavern.
Apophis's sharp red eyes scanned the area as he looked around for something to steal for dinner tonight.
"That smells so yummy," He whispered, noticing a strong scent coming from inside a small food shop with a bowl sitting on the counter.
A smile came to his sliver face as he rushed on over and grabbed the bowl, and started to rush off.
"Hey, get back here!" A woman with paper-white skin exclaimed, chasing after him.
"You'll have to run faster than that if you plan to catch me!" He called back as he increased his speed, leaving her behind in his dust.
"Bring back that stolen food, you thief!" She shouted, picking up the pace and following after him.
"Don't think so, woman!" He shouted back, turning around and kicking a rock and sending it flying at the woman's foot, making her fall to the ground.
Apophis let out a chuckle as he continued making his way back to the cavern to eat his dinner for tonight.
"She should of try harder if she expected to catch me and get this bowl of want seems like Asebesto Spaghetti with moon cheese on it," He said as he continued to laugh to himself and entered the cavern he had been living in for the past four years.
'None of them will ever catch a master thief like me. Not even the clothing shop owners will catch me.' He thought, sitting down against the wall and started eating his dinner.
'This is delicious.' He thought as he slurped up the pasta using his mouth since he didn't steal anything to use to eat it with, but he didn't care. The food was still good, in his opinion.
Apophis had finished up the last of the dinner that he had stolen from the small shop no more than a couple of minutes ago, possibly almost thirty minutes ago.
"That was the best bowl of Asebesto Spaghetti I ever had," He said, relieved as he rubbed his stomach underneath the black shirt he had stolen a few days ago.
He immediately stood up with the empty bowl and looked at it with a sigh."I might as well take this bowl back since I don't need it anymore and put it on the counter to be washed," He said, walking towards the entrance and exit of the cavern.
'I bet that woman is busy getting ready to close soon. So sneaking this back shouldn't be too much of a problem.' He thought, walking towards the center of his homeworld where the shops and restaurants are located.
After reaching the location of the shop he stole from, he hides behind a creepy purple trash bin that almost looks like the mouth of a beast as he watches a family of three leaving the shop with a young boy carrying a to-go bowl. As the shop owner grabbed the dirty dishes and began to wash them in the sink.
"Perfect, that looks like it was possibly the last group of people here," He said, slowly coming from behind the trash bin."Now my chance to sneak over," He whispered, and he kept low to the ground and crept on over to the shop.
As soon as he got closer, he glanced up briefly to see the woman was still focused on the sink and quickly stood up and placed the empty bowl on the counter before he once again lowered to the ground and crept off before she could turn around to see him.
Apophis was kneeling across a stream of water, drinking some of it from his cup, hands washing down his dinner, and quenching his thirst.
He then heard a loud familiar cry causing him to freeze in his tracks.
'That cry.' He thought to himself, looking around for the source of the familiar horrifying animal cry.
His eyes widened as he saw the familiar sight of a Conqueox coming his way.
"Dang it, I knew it!" He exclaimed, running away from the massive snake slithering towards him.
The snake let out a cry in return as it continued to follow after him quickly.
"Oh no, you don't, foul creature!" He shouted, smirking as he lowered himself to the ground and slid past its mouth at a sudden turn, causing it to come onto a rock instead of him.
However, that only made the Conqueox snake even more angry as it spits out the rock and with after Apophis, who started running away quickly, seeing that it wasn't done with him yet.
'I need to get rid of this snake.' He thought, looking back at the giant snake following him anterior angrily.
"Let's see how you like this beast!" He shouted, kicking a slightly large brown rock and hitting the Conqueox snake in the head.
Apophis glanced at the giant snake shaking off the effects of the rock hitting its head as he continued running off to safety before it came after him again.
He narrowed his eyes, hearing the familiar cry a few minutes later, knowing it wouldn't be long until it attacked him again.
'Dang, it recovered and is on the attack again.' He thought, looking back to see a faint silhouette of the massive snake slithering his way.
"I need to get back to my shelter before it catches on up," He muttered, turning his attention forward as he continued the run to safety.
Apophis suddenly then stopped and placed a hand against a large tree breathing heavily from all the running he was doing.
His red eyes widened in fear the moment he heard the horrifying cry and felt the warmth of air hitting his neck, and he turned around to see a sizeable massive face with fangs close to him and gulped, seeing he was close to being dinner.
"I won't be eaten that easy, He muttered, rolling to his right the moment it snapped its fangs at him, causing it to bite up some grass instead." That's right; I'm not an easy target!" He said, smirking as it was snapping at him again to eat him.
"What the?!" Apophis questioned when suddenly, a hammer smacked the massive snake on the face causing blueish blood to splatter on the ground, signaling that it was dead.
He then looked to see a tall, muscular build man with blue skin wearing battle armor.
"Young Ngaian, you have the instinct of a survivor," He said, walking over to Apophis."That Conqueox snake would have eaten you sooner if you didn't avoid its fangs the way you did. What is your name Naga?" He asked?
"Apophis," Apophis replied, looking up at the tall man.
"Apophis is a worthy name for a future Assassin," The man said."You definitely have the skills to become one. So why don't you join me and? I will train you to become one of the best Assassins in the Galaxy," He said, holding out a small sliver spike ball connected to a black chain with a handle at the end.
Apophis stared at the weapon before finally he took it and looked back at the man with a hardened and serious expression.
"Come with me to my ship, and you start training with me, Ronan the Accuser, Apophis, to become one of the best assassins," The man said, placing a hand on Apophis's back and started leading him towards the ship.
Apophis looked at his new weapon as he was being led to a large ship owned by the man he learned name to be Ronan the Accuser. From this moment on, he wouldn't be a simple orphan kid anymore. He was about to turn to into something way more than that.
Hey readers!
The thrid chapter is written and published. Apophis had met Ronan, the Accuser, and was about to begin his training to become an Assassin. I plan to have this book go up to GOTG Vol 2 and then make another one for Infinity War and Endgame. I haven't decided if I will do the Vol 3 as well once it is out and available on streaming. Nebula is one of my favorite female characters in MCU, and I don't want to end this after only two movies. I think I will make a version of maybe the same pairing but in a Highschool Au in the future.
I hope you all are enjoying the story and the development of Apophis character showing how he came to be a future Assassin and how I met Ronan. Soon we will be making our way to the actual GOTG vol 1 movie after finishing this arc on how we ended up with Ronan and training with him.
Thanks for reading. More chapters will be coming soon!
