Before I begin, I want to reply to the review that was left a few chapters back.
Guest/Lupus: If your suggestion for me to make a story in X Evolution, the show using an Oc that is the son of Star-lord and Gemora. I could think about it unless you want it to occur in the world of Guardians of the Galaxy. Either way, it is something I can think about writing in the future.
Now onto the chapter!
It was another long good six hours, until they reached the Kyln. Apophis was broadly leaning against a wall in the hall, swinging around his chain mace boredly with nothing to do. Every now and then, Nebula would glance at him as she walked past him from the bathroom.
Apophis didn't hate being on the Dark Aster. It was like a home to him after losing his parents. He and Krobb had grown to be like son and father since Ronan had him spend most of his time being watched by his brother when he wasn't training. It's just that he couldn't stand being cooped up on the ship for hours and days with nothing to do after finishing up any repairs the Nercocaft might of needed.
"Glow eyes!" Nebula snapped, pulling Apophis out of his thoughts. She glared at him, clenching the collar of his jumpsuit.
"What is it?" Apophis gritted out, glaring at Nebula, but his eyes immediately widened at the tone he used."I'm sorry didn't mean to snap," He apologized.
"Oh, forget it. Don't come to my room; I don't want to talk about my problem anymore," Nebula said emotionless, but Apophis could tell she was lying.
"Wait, we can talk. Sorry, my mind wandered off, and I didn't realize that you were talking to me," He said quickly before she took off.
Nebula gave him a nice long look in his eyes. She was debating on if she should even give him another chance or just go back to keeping the problem to herself as she had been doing as he kept pestering her about what was wrong with her and why she came into his room. Nebula then nodded and led Aophis to her bedroom to talk."I don't know why, but I decided that I needed to tell someone what was bothering and you were the only one I felt compelled to tell."
"Alright, I'm all ears," Apophis said as he followed Nebula into a bedroom with a bed and grey wall and matching bed and other basic furniture. Nebula didn't really have any extra roomy additions like Apophis added of the few pictures he had left of his family.
"I tell you, but you better not ruin my trust going around telling anyone anything I say," Nebula muttered as she sat down on the bed.
Apophis looked at Nebula and placed an on her shoulder, and gave her a gentle smile."I would never go and tell anyone something personal you don't want anybody to know."
Nebula nodded, seeing he was telling the truth. Sophia removed her hand from Nebula's shoulder and patiently waited for her to talk.
"So you have been wondering why I have come into your room since we have been set on the course to the Kyln," Nebula said with a hand on her leg.
"I have. Does it have anything to do with your father's words that day?" Apophis asked, wondering if that was what had been bothering her lately.
Nebula with silent for a moment to collect her thoughts. Apophis grabbed her nonmetal hand and gently squeezed it, causing her to look over at him and see him giving a reassuring smile, making a warm feeling inside of her chest that gave her a sense of security. It was a feeling she had never felt before, and she didn't know how to feel about it.
"No, not necessarily," She said, shaking her head."It more so had been dealing with nightmares or memories of the pain he inflicted on me."
"So you have been coming to my room for some kind of comfort?" He asked.
Yeah, I guess, since you always seem to try to comfort me. I decided to come to your room but then changed my mind."
"Hey, you don't have to be afraid to say anything," He said, grabbing."No, actually, you don't even have to ask. You're more than welcome to just climb into my bed. I will always be willing to give you the comfort you need."
"I swear. I don't know where they went! I swear," A guard said as Apophis held him in place with his mace secured around his neck, keeping him from trying to move or try anything.
"If he knew where they were headed, he would have told us by now," Nebula stated."Apophis method or always getting those to talk."
Nebula's head then started to flash blue as it made a mechanical sound."Ronan, the Nova Corps sent a fleet to defend the prison," She said.
"Well then, send Nercocaft to every corner of the quadrant," Ronan commanded, walking off.
Apophis removed his mace and held it next to his side, and followed after him and Nebula.
"Find the orb. Any means, any price."
"And this place?" Nebula asked.
"The Nova can't know what we're after," Ronan said."Apophis cleansed it!" He commanded.
"Yes, Ronnan," Apophis said, swinging his mace and killing the guy he was holding in place earlier."I will take care of that."
"Good, and then join Nebula in the Nercocaft and find Gamora," Ronnnan ordered.
Apophis nodded and set off to take care of his task to cleanse the place of any side they were here before joining Nebula in the Nercocaft.
"You cleanse the place?" Nebula asked soon as he climbed into the seat next to her.
"Yes, let's go."
Here we go; another chapter for A Suvior's Strength has been published. I hope you enjoyed it. Apophis now knows the truth of why Nebula was coming to his room and made it to the Kyln. I hope it was rushed, but I finally want to get to the action. We had enough of filler with their bonding. I know that I have changed some of the scenes from the movie, but I felt like this way was written better and fits my story better than a complete copy of the movie.
I definitely plan to continue to add more moments between Apohis and Nebula as I continue to write the story. I will also try to show more of his relationship with Krobb as well.
Thank you, everyone, for reading my story. The support is appreciated!
