Hey everyone!
First I want to wish you all a belated Happy New Years. I hope you all had a very nice Christmas and new years celebration.
Now, with the new year started I have a small announcement to make.
With all the requests I've received, I have to tell you that I will not be accepting any more story requests for a while. This is for me to be able to catch up with all the requests I've gotten lately.
I'm sorry for that and I hope you all understand.
But, as you can see, the first chapter of my new story, Wolf is complete, and I hope you'll like it, just as much as my other works.
So, without further ado, enjoy the first chapter of Wolf.
Chapter 1.
"I'm scared! It's getting stronger!"
"Getting upset only makes it worse. Calm down."
"No! Don't touch me! Please…I don't want to hurt you…" The words kept ringing in Elsa's head.
In fact, last night's incident had kept replaying in the young woman's mind all day. And the feeling of guilt and sadness that she had felt ever since for what she was putting her parents and sister Anna through, was starting to become overwhelming.
Now she had made a decision. She looked over at her bed where she had gathered some of her stuff. There was bit of food she had taken from the pantry, things she could sell to get money for more food and other supplies, and some of her clothes.
She quickly packed the things in her backpack and opened a window.
She took a few seconds to look back at her room. She sighed. Never would she see her bedroom or sleep in her bed again. Never would she enjoy a good meal in the lavish dining hall or read books she had found in her father's library again. Never would she roam around the hallways at night, trying not to get caught out of bed by her parents, or the guards. And never would she hug her parents or Anna again.
But this was for the best. With her power getting stronger and without having control over them, she couldn't risk staying there. Her parents and sister would be better off without her.
Elsa looked down at the ground as she took a deep breath. She made a huge snow pile on the ground beneath her window and jumped before she could change her mind.
"Offff…that actually went better than expected." she mumbled to herself as she climbed out of the snow pile.
She managed to melt it and looked around before she grabbed her backpack and made her way through the dark courtyard.
It took some effort and time as she had to carefully navigate the courtyard to avoid the guards, but Elsa ultimately managed to slip out of the kingdom and set course for the forest.
Hours passed by as Elsa trekked through the thick forest and soon it was already the night after she had run away. The sun had set and when she reached a clearing, she stopped to rest and eat. As she opened her backpack, she realized she was almost out of the little food she had brought with her. Only a few chocolate chips cookies were left.
"Oh.. what am I gonna do?" She asked herself as she looked around.
Where could she go?
Elsa almost facepalmed herself as she realized that she hadn't planned this far ahead. She had been so focused on leaving the kingdom that she hadn't thought of how to survive out in the wilderness in the long run. But now, here she was. She had to figure something out.
"I should head to the nearest town and buy supplies. I'm so far away from home that I doubt anyone will recognize me there. I'll stay there for a couple of days and then…."
Elsa's thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a sound. The sound of a tree branch snapping. It was coming from behind her, Elsa slowly turned around towards where the sound was coming from. It was a large bush and she heard another tree branch snap, followed by a low growling like sound.
Feeling her heartbeat increase, Elsa slowly reached for her backpack. She carefully picked it up and started to move. As she walked through the forest she could sense something following her. She could hear a few more branches snap and the sound of the leaves being crunched into the ground. Picking up her pace a little Elsa soon reached a small open space where the forest divided into two paths.
She stopped and tried to decide which way to go as she heard the low growling sound again.
As she looked to her right she spotted a huge uprooted tree and the growling was coming from the other side.
"No, I gotta stop being scared" Elsa mumbled to herself as she in a moment of bravery turned around.
"Who's following me?" She asked as she approached the tree, hands raised, ready to defend herself.
Suddenly, something large came jumping over the enormous root, almost knocking Elsa over as it leapt over her head. Elsa shrieked in surprise as she stumbled backwards, slipping on the ground.
As she sat up she could see what it was.
Staring at her was a huge beast she had never seen before. Its eyes were bright and yellow in the moonlight and its fur bristled. It growled again, loudly this time and Elsa quickly backed away.
She turned around and dropped her backpack as she started running as fast as her legs could carry her. She heard the beast behind her and knew it was charging after her.
Elsa could both hear and feel her heart pounding in her chest as she continued running but the beast was much faster than her, and she knew it was just a matter of time before it caught up to her. On impulse, she turned around as she ran and sent a blast of ice towards the beast.
The blast hit the ground, covering it in a sheet of ice. The ice made the beast slip and fall, sending it crashing into a nearby tree.
This gave Elsa a few more seconds to go on and she didn't waste them as she continued running.
Then, in a cruel twist of fate, Elsa's foot was caught in an uproot and she fell, face first to the ground with a yelp. As she managed to turn around, the beast had gotten back up at its feet and was now charging at her again and this time, even faster, its speed fueled by rage.
Terrified, Elsa screamed and raised her hands and braced herself for the inevitable as the beast pounced at her.
Suddenly, a loud roar could be heard just before another, smaller, beast leapt from the bushes and tackled the larger one to the ground, wrestling it away from Elsa.
Elsa's eyes widened as she looked at the beast that had intervened. It was smaller than the one that had chased her and its fur was black but just as bristled and its eyes were glowing in the same familiar yellow colour.
The large grey beast roared and Elsa could tell that it was annoyed by the interference. The smaller one, to her surprise, growled at the huge beast and she was stunned as she realized it was defending her.
The grey beast roared again, and hunched down. The smaller black beast steadied itself as it realized the grey one was getting ready to attack again.
Elsa closed her eyes and waited for the inevitable to happen.
The smaller one leapt forward and, under the full moon, the two beasts clashed together.
Elsa could only stare at them as they continued fighting, dealing blow after blow, snarling at each other.
Then, after some intense minutes of fighting the huge grey one suddenly managed to strike the black one under its eye, causing it to roar in pain. The black one pushed the grey one away and they took a few seconds to gather themselves.
This time it was the black one's turn to deal the first blow as they both hunched down and leapt forward, clashing together again.
Elsa knew she should have ran away, but something was holding her there. Something she could not explain.
Suddenly, the large grey one managed to grab the black one and throw it against a tree. The beast whimpered as it hit the tree trunk before seemingly collapsing, knocked out.
"No!" Elsa gasped before clamping her hands over her mouth.
The grey beast turned around at the sound and snarled at her. Its eyes were now almost red with rage and long strings of drool were hanging from its jaws as it charged at her again.
Suddenly a flash of black could be seen jumping in from the side and before Elsa knew it, the smaller black beast had jumped onto the grey one's back. It had gotten back up and were now hanging on, trying to grab one of its arms as the grey one frantically tried to get it off by clawing at it. After a couple of attempts the black one finally managed to get a hold of its arms and without wasting another second, locked its teeth around its fingers, biting off three of them in the process.
The grey one howled in pain as the black one jumped off its back and landed in front of it, standing between it and Elsa once again before letting out one last loud roar.
The grey one, delirious from pain and blood loss, stumbled a bit before running away into the forest, leaving a trail of its blood behind it.
After a few seconds, the black beast turned around, looking at Elsa.
Elsa, still frightened, took a few steps back as the beast advanced towards her.
Under the dark skies, just lit up by the moonlight, Elsa closed her eyes and prepared to let whatever was going to happen, to happen.
And..Cliffhanger.
So, what will happen next? You'll have to come back for ch 2 to find out.
I hope you enjoyed this first chapter, and I'll see you again next time.
Take care!
