Genji was sitting on his balcony laying on a lounge chair, a newspaper in hand. From the balcony of his Penthouse, he could spot the Pro-bending Arena. The glass dome is broken in places and construction scaffolding is in place around it. Some cars are parked near the entrance, which is blocked off by a police barricade.
A knock was heard on the front door, surprising him as he wasn't expecting anyone today. Throwing the newspaper down, he stood up and made his way back into his house and across the living room to answer whomever was there.
Opening it, he was pleasantly surprised to find Asami Sato standing there.
"Hello there." she said with a alluring smile
"Asami Sato!" Genji said happily, stepping aside to allow her in, "Care for a cup of tea?"
"I would like that." Asami said as she walked in, "Thank you."
He guided her to the living room, gesturing for her to sit down on the couch before he headed to the kitchen to fix her up a fresh pot made the way he was thought by the greatest tea master in the history of ever.
"Your house is beautiful." she said taking a seat on the leather sofa, "It must have cost a fortune."
"Not as much as you might think." Genji said when he returned with two cups and the freshly made pot of tea.
"Thank you for the tea." Asami said as he poured her cup before sitting down in the chair across from her.
Taking the porcelain cup, she took a drink from the hot liquid. Her eyes widening in surprise. "This is great!" she said impressed, "I had tea like this once when I went with my father to a business trip to Ba Sing Se. The tea house was called the Jasmine Dragon. Have you ever been there?"
"I have been. It taste similar because the original owner of that tea shop taught me how to make it." Genji said remembering the wise firebender, "So what brings you here?"
"My father wanted to invite you over for dinner, as some sort of thank you for protecting us during the Pro-Bending finals." Asami said, "I was in the neighborhood, so I stopped by. Are you available tomorrow? Mako and Bolin are already staying, Korra and Ichiro will be visiting tomorrow."
"Who am I to deny such a generous offer." Genji said with a smile, "Very well, I accept."
Meanwhile over at the police station, detective Ichiro stepped out of his office, not even able to close the door when he bumped into Korra, who seemed just as surprised as him.
"You have been waiting long?" Ichiro said with a good natured chuckle as he and her walked out of the hall.
"W-What? No I was just... looking for the bathroom." Korra said quickly, "So... Beifong giving you any trouble?"
"Nothing I couldn't handle, just the usual concerned boss speech." Ichiro said rubbing the back of his head as the two passed Tahno sitting on a bench.
The former waterbender has his hair in a mess and bags under his eyes, still saddened over losing his bending to Amon.
"Hey, Korra." Tahno said sadly and tired, "Detective."
"Listen, I know we're not exactly best friends." Korra said with sympathy for him, "But I'm sorry Amon took your bending."
"Have you found a way to reverse it?" Ichiro said concerned.
"I've been to the best healers in the city. Whatever Amon did to me, it's permanent." Tahno said before looking at Korra, "You gotta get him for me. Let him go a round or two against that Shashou friend of yours."
Korra nods her head as Lin, Tenzin and Hiroshi Sato walk up to the bench.
"Mr. Sato, if you remember anything else about what you saw during Amon's attack." Lin said, "Be sure to let us know."
"I'm happy to help any way I can." Hiroshi said, "I want these Equalists to pay for what they've done." he nods his head toward Korra, Ichiro and Tahno before walking away.
The following day, Korra and Ichiro were being led to the pool at the Sato mansion, where Pabu jumps off a large statue into a pool squealing. Bolin stands at the top of the statue, Asami, wearing a white bathing suit that showed off her beautiful curves, sits on the side of the pool, and Mako stands in the pool right next to her.
"Earthbending bomb!" Bolin said, dives into the pool doing a belly flop, splashing Mako and Asami in the process.
"Avatar Korra and Detective Ichiro have arrived." the butler said.
"Hey, guys!" Asami said happily, "Glad you made it!"
"Welcome to paradise!" Bolin said, surfacing from the water with his hands out, putting his hands behind his head and floats on his back. Pabu climbs onto his belly.
Korra sits down on a bench by the pool. "Looks like you guys settled right in." she said sounding slightly sarcastically.
Mako comes swimming toward Korra followed by Asami, "Pretty much." he said turning to his girlfriend, "Except someone forgot to ask her father if we could stay here."
"Yeah, but I smoothed it over with him." Asami said with a cheeky grin, "It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission."
"I completely agree." Genji said casually as he walked in with his hands in his pockets.
"What are you doing here?" Mako said at once.
"I invited him." Asami said turning to her boyfriend, "He protected me and my dad at the Pro-bending finals, least we could do is treat him to dinner."
"No, the least you could do is do nothing. By the way, you might want to check up on your security." Genji said nodding with his head to the door, "I could just walk in, who knows what kind of insane person could break in."
Bolin gets out of the pool next to Genji with Pabu on his shoulder. "This is the greatest place in the world! Watch this, watch this." he said before continuing in a more formal tone, "Fetch me my towel, good sir."
"Yes, Master... Bolin." the butler said, he grabs a folded up towel and walks toward Bolin, who held out his arms.
The butler rolls up the towel and pats down Bolin as he moves to allow him to do that. "Don't forget Master Pabu." he said.
"Wouldn't dream of it, sir." the Butler said, he puts the towel over Pabu, who is still sitting on Bolin's head, and rubs him dry.
A moment later, Pabu's fur becomes bushy as he squeaks. As the butler turns around, Bolin jumps into the water again right away and the butler looks annoyed.
"So, what do you have planned for us today?" Korra asked Asami, sounding somewhat dismayed, "Let me guess, shopping, makeovers?..."
Bolin jumps onto Mako, pushing him into the water; raising his hand while speaking in an excited tone, "Oh, Oh! I vote makeovers!", he said, yelping as Mako returns the favor.
Climbing the ladder out of the pool, Asami turns her head to face Korra and Ichiro, "I had something a little more exciting in mind."
After the other three got dressed, they followed Asami towards the race track at her house. Two Satomobiles are racing as Asami, Genji, Korra, Ichiro, Mako, and Bolin are sitting in the stands.
"Pretty cool, huh?" Asami said.
"Way cooler than a makeover." Korra said, looking in amazement.
"This is where Future Industries test-drives their Satomobiles." Asami explained, "Ever been behind the wheel?"
"The only thing I know how to drive is a polar bear dog." Korra said with an embarrassed chuckle, "Ichiro doesn't allow me to drive his Satomobile."
"Nobody drive my Satomobile, except me." Ichiro said.
"A man after my own heart." Genji said, holding up his hand but it seemed the detective was set on ignoring him.
Korra walked off with Asami to test drive a Satomobile.
An hour later, they re-enter the Sato mansion, where Bolin runs words the bathroom, covering his groin, "Emergency, emergency coming through, beep beep!" he shouted.
"Is there another bathroom I can use?" Korra asked.
"We have a lady's powder room upstairs." Asami explained, "First door on your right."
Korra walked up the stairs and Genji turned to Asami, "That powder room, is it the face kind." he said gesturing to his face, "Or the nose kind?" gesturing to his nose.
"Are you just asking my girlfriend for a line of drugs?" Mako said irritated, "With a cop standing next to you?"
"Yes." Genji said bluntly, "As if there is any prison that can hold me."
It was then that Korra had returned and she run right past them. "I need to get going." she said, looking to her cop friend, "Ichiro, can you give me a lift?"
"Sure, I guess." Ichiro said, a bit confused.
"You're leaving?" Asami said, sounding a bit hurt, "But I-I thought..."
"Uh, sorry! I forgot, I'm supposed to airsit, I mean babybend." Korra said, obviously shaken, "I-I mean babysit the airbender kids. See you later!"
"It was a delight." Ichiro said, bowing to Asami, "Let's do it again soon.", before following Korra out of the house.
Later that day back at the police headquarters in Lin's office. The chief herself was there along with Tenzin and Ichiro as Korra told them what she had overheard in the Sato Mansion.
"So, you think Mr. Sato manufactured those gloves for the Equalists then framed Cabbage Corp?" Tenzin said.
"That's a bold accusation." Lin said, "But what proof do you have?"
"Well, I don't exactly have proof." Korra said sure of herself, "But I know what I heard. Sato's up to something."
"He does have the means..." Lin said holding her chin in thought, "And he has a motive."
"A motive?" Ichiro said curiously with his arms crossed, "What is it, chief?"
"Twelve years ago, the Agni Kai Triad robbed Sato's mansion." Lin explained, "A firebender killed Sato's wife during the break in."
"That's terrible." Korra said saddened.
"It was tragic." Tenzin said with a somber nod, "It's possible that he's been harboring anti-bending sentiment all this time."
It was during that evening dinner, Genji sat next to Bolin during dinner, sitting across from Asami who had Mako next to her as Hiroshi sat at the head of the table.
"These are some fine drinks you have collected." Genji said indicating his glass, "Thank you Mr. Sato."
"Glad you enjoyed." Hiroshi said with a nod, "I knew you would be a man that can appreciate a fine wine."
"Hey, Genji." Bolin said drawing his attention, "What was that thing that happened the other day? With the black veins?"
"That was a Shashou Elixer. Specifically it was the 'Wyvern decoction'." Genji said taking a sip from his drink, "It gives me an increase in attack power and a pretty decent speed buff."
"That sounds like magic." Asami said surprised.
"It's science not magic." Genji corrected her, "For magic you need to apply eyeliner."
"Fascinating. You know, I'm something of a scientist myself." Hiroshi said with a mild tone of humor to his voice, "If these Elixer's are so great, why doesn't everyone use them."
"There is a reason it's called Shashou Elixer. Only a Shashou's enhanced immune system can stand the toxins and chemicals." Genji explained matter-of-factly, "A Shashou Elixer could prove easily deadly if consumed even in small amounts by a normal human. Though it can be watered down for a child of a Shashou."
"A child of a Shashou?" Mako said with a disbelieving scoff, "How? All Shashou's are infertile."
"That's a common misconception even among Shashou's." Genji said shaking his head, "We're basically sterile, like 99.9%. I know because there are records of Shashou children, though they are extremely rare."
"Oh, Oh, I have a question. Another one actually!" Bolin said excited, "I-I mean, can I ask a question Mr. Chirayus, sir?"
"Bolin, we are brothers." Genji assured him with a grin, "You can ask me anything. Also call me Genji."
"Oh yeah, the back tattoo, right." the young earthbender said with a nod, "What was the first monster you killed."
"Now that is quite a tale." Genji said taking a sip from his drink before he began to recount, "It wasn't even a eighty miles out of Ryu Basho."
"Ryu Basho?" Hiroshi said curiously.
"One of the four Qiyue Ren's schools. The one I grew up and trained at." Genji explained before returning to the story, "Anyway it was huge! Stinking, bald head, rotting teeth. He pulled that girl from the cart, tore her dress up in front of her father and said 'It's time you met a real man'."
"By the spirits." Asami said shocked, covering her mouth with her hand.
"I told him it was time he met one too." Genji recounted the kill, "It took two strikes to kill him, they weren't clean but they were spectaculair. I turned towards that girl afterwards she was drenched in the mans blood."
"She must have been grateful." Bolin said, taken in by the story.
"She took one look at me, screamed, vomited and passed out." Genji said much to the amusement of his audience.
"Can't possible imagine why anyone would vomit upon seeing you." Asami said with a slight tease.
"I can..." Mako muttered annoyed.
The butler came into the room, whispering something into Hiroshi's ear who got a slight frown before standing up. "If you excuse me, the police are here." Hiroshi said and he walked out of the room, leaving them behind.
Mako, Asami and Ichiro follows after Hiroshi through the door while Bolin continued to eat, but not before Genji swiped up a unopen bottle of wine.
They just arrived as the butler let in Korra, Ichiro, Lin and Tenzin and guided them to Hiroshi's study. Ichiro, Tenzin and Lin walk upstairs with Korra behind them, passing the group.
"What's going on?" Mako said, stopping Korra, "Why are they asking Hiroshi more questions?"
"I overheard him on the phone earlier today." Korra said turning to Asami, "I don't know how to tell you this, but I think your father might be involved with the Equalists."
"What?" Asami said incredulously, "I don't believe this." and she walks upstairs.
"You spied on Hiroshi?" Mako said as Korra takes a step back, "What's your problem?"
"Aside from not getting that detective dick." Genji said taking a swing from the wine bottle, "Very rare quality indeed."
"What is?" Korra said.
"This bottle of wine, Almost as old as me. Also how even though she is angry, Asami still looks hot as fuck." Genji said with a appreciative grin, "Then again, she is an eleven... no, a twelve out of ten! She is so hot, you wouldn't mind getting the herp from her, you know? I would pay her just to spit in my face. I would suck... her knees! I would chug a two-liter of her genital juice like I was a competitive fucking eater!"
"...Never change Genji." Korra said dryly as she walked up the stairs.
"I'm nearly four hundred." Genji said with a laugh as he followed her, "Safe to say I'm never going to."
Inside Hiroshi Sato's office, Lin and Tenzin stand in front of Hiroshi's desk while Ichiro sat across from him.
"Thank you for receiving us on such a short notice, Mr. Sato." Ichiro said, opening his notepad and taking out a piece of graphite, "We just have a few follow-up questions for you."
The door opens and a angry Asami walks in, "My father is innocent." she said standing next to her father, "Just because we're not benders doesn't mean we support those awful Equalists." as Mako, Korra and Genji follow her into the office.
"Equalists?" Hiroshi said surprised, "Is that what this is about? I can assure you I have nothing to do with those radicals."
"Yeah, you don't know what you're talking about, Korra." Mako said directing it to the Avatar.
"I overheard you on the phone." Korra said pointing to Hiroshi, "You said the Cabbage Corp investigation bought you time, and you're getting ready to strike. Explain that!"
"This is all just a misunderstanding, resulting from the young Avatar's overactive imagination." Hiroshi said with a good natured laugh, "My number one competitor was knocked out of the game. It's providing me an opportunity to strike the market with a new line of Satomobiles. It's just business. Nothing nefarious."
Lin and Tenzin look at each other but Ichiro continued to investigation, "Might we have a look into your factories and warehouses?" he said, putting his notepad and graphite away, "To put a rest to all the suspicion?"
Asami sighs in annoyance, hands on her hips, but Hiroshi raises his hands to stop her from speaking further. "If detective Ichiro feel it's necessary." he said, "You're welcome to search all of Future Industries."
At the Future Industries factory where an investigation was taking place. But unfortunately the search proves to be unsuccessful, as no Equalist material is found.
Outside of the factory as the metalbender cops are lifted into the police airship while Ichiro, Lin and Tenzin watch.
Korra rides in on Naga, and jumps down to approach them, "I can't believe we didn't find anything." she said.
"It would appear Hiroshi is innocent." Tenzin said.
"I don't know." Ichiro said holding his chin in thought, "Something is not right. I can feel it in my jellies."
"Okay, you did your search." Asami said annoyed as she approaches with Mako, "Now you can all leave."
Mako signals to Korra, and they move away to have a private conversation. "So, I hope you're convinced now." he said.
"No, I'm not!" Korra said, "I don't care how cooperative Hiroshi is being, I know he's lying."
"Why are you doing this?" Mako said irritably, "Are you that jealous of me and Asami?"
"I have to agree with Korra." Ichiro said as he approached them, "Hiroshi is not the man you think he is."
Mako scoffs and he walks away to Asami, one arm wrapping around her shoulder, and leaves Korra and Ichiro.
A worker walks past Ichiro, placing a note in his hand and quickly making his exit. Surprised, Ichiro looks around before he opens the note and reads it.
"Chief!" Ichiro shouted, holding up the note, "You should read this!"
Looking at it with surprise, he gave it a quick read before turning to Korra, Lin and Tenzin. "If you want to find the truth, meet me under the north end of the Silk Road Bridge at midnight." he said, reading the note out loud.
At nighttime where Ichiro, Korra, Lin and Tenzin walking to the north end. They heard someone calling them over and in the shadows of a pillar stood a warehouse worker.
"Listen, I joined the Equalists because I believed in what Amon said." the worker said, "I thought he could make life better for us non-benders. But I didn't sign up for this... this war."
"What do you have on Hiroshi Sato?" Lin said curiously.
"He manufactured those gloves for the Equalists." the worker said, lifting up the collar to hide his face, "And there are rumors he's working on something even bigger. Some new kind of weapon."
"But we searched all of Future Industries and found nothing." Ichiro said, "Does he have a secret factory?"
The worker gave a nod, "It's right underneath the Sato Mansion."
"If we raid the Sato Mansion." Ichiro said early in the morning as he followed Lin to a bar, "It's a risky move with Tarrlok breathing down your neck."
"I know. If it goes wrong I can kiss my job goodbye." Lin said with a firm tone, "But protecting Republic City is all I care about."
"Good to know." Ichiro said dryly as they stepped in the club, where people are cleaning the place after another wild night.
"But why are we here?" he said but he heard someone call for them near the bar.
"Detective!" Genji said waving them over.
"What is he doing here?" Ichiro said as he and Lin walked over to him.
"You know chief, I was surprised to receive your call." Genji said, filling three glasses with his favorite drink, "But I believe we can come to an arrangement."
"Chief..." Ichiro said disturbed at realizing what this meant, "Your hiring a Shashou? An assassin!?"
"For added protection if this turns ugly." Lin assured him.
"And of course she hires the best." Genji said with a wink, "Don't worry. The chief is getting a discount, she is hiring me for a friend price. After all I did bang her mom."
"Are you going to bring that up every time you see me?" Lin said annoyed.
"Probably." Genji said with a shrug, "Did you know she liked to be called the Melon Lord in bed? Very weird."
"Never did I need to know that." Lin muttered, beging to regret hiring the Shashou who clearly wasn't all there anymore.
"So does this mean..." Ichiro said with a concerned tone, "Your working again?"
"I'm not sure yet." Genji said, taking a sip from his drink.
That evening at the Sato Mansion, the two bending brothers are sitting with Asami in the living room; Bolin is eating from the bowl of fruit while Mako takes out a LP from the cover and shows it to Asami.
The metalbender cops burst into the living room as they were lead by Genji wearing his leather armor, who had two swords strapped on his back, a belt of flasks hidden beneath his blazer. Their appearance caused Bolin to raise his arms in fear.
"What are you doing here?" Asami said surprised and angrily.
"Working!" Genji said looking around the room, "We have a reason to believe that there's a factory hidden below the mansion."
"I think I would've noticed if there were a factory underneath my house." Asami said closing the distance between them and glaring at Genji at not even an arms length, "The lies you people come up with just to persecute my father."
"Okay, just wanted to say, you have perfect skin. Do you have any flaws?" Genji said looking Asami up close, "But where is your dad?"
"In his workshop, behind the house." Asami said slightly taken aback by what Genji had said, if he was flirting with her or not.
Outside of Hiroshi's workshop, metalbender cops guard the area as they all walk toward the place. The metalbender cops burst into the workshop to find no one in the room.
"Dad?" Asami said searching, "Hello?"
"Chief, the estate's been secured." Ichiro said coming into the workshop, "No one has left the workshop since we arrived."
"Perhaps we just couldn't see him leaving..." Lin said but she walks into the middle of the room with her hands behind her back. She raises her leg and metalbends her left sole, removing it to expose her bare foot to perform her seismic sense.
"There's a tunnel beneath the workshop running deep into the mountainside." the police chief said.
"What?" Asami said in disbelief, "There's no tunnel."
Lin looks at the floor and metalbends to remove the metal layer, exposing the stairs and an elevator going down as they walk toward it.
"I don't understand." Asami said confused at the discovery, "There must be an explanation."
"Maybe you don't know everything about your father." Korra said somewhat sympathetically, "I'm sorry."
"Alright people, let's get into that tunnel." Genji said taking the lead, officers walk toward the stairs.
Mako, Bolin and Asami start walking toward it until they are stopped by Lin, "You three stay up here." she said turning to one of her men, "Officer Song, keep an eye on them."
Song salutes her as Mako, Bolin and Asami look at the group. As they walk down, Korra turns her head and looks at the three in sadness as Mako turns his head away with guilt.
The elevator takes the group down until it stops and they cautiously walk into a massive room that has posters of Amon hanging up. There are large robotic machines on the sides.
"Not your average backyard workshop." Ichiro said, "Then again rich people can be a bit eccentric."
"And I'm guessing those are the new weapons." Korra said, looking at the large robotic machines.
"So Papa Sato was lying, as I said. But where is he?" Genji said as he began to scan the room as suddenly, a metal wall shoots up to block the entrance, "What the shit!"
Lin tries the bend the seemingly metal wall, but to no avail.
"I'm afraid you won't be able to metalbend that wall, Chief Beifong. It's solid platinum." Hiroshi's voice came from the speakers lining the wall. Green lights are turned on around them, causing them all but Genji to shield their eyes from the glares. The robotic machines come to life and approach the group.
"My mecha tanks are platinum as well. Not even your renowned mother could bend a metal so pure."
"Hello, Mr. Sato." Genji said casually, "A really swell, scary factory you have here under your giant mansion."
"Hiroshi, I knew you were a lying, no good Equalist!" Korra shouted angrily, "Come out here and..."
"And do what, young Avatar? Face the wrath of your bending?" Hiroshi said from inside his mecha, "No. I think I'll fight from inside here where my odds are a little more... equal."
"Look at him, thinking he's equal in his tin suit." Genji said having taken out his sword, "Just a quick question, was that source a set-up?"
"Guilty as charged." Hiroshi said.
The battle begins when Hiroshi Sato shoots out a grappler to capture them. Genji, Ichiro, Lin, Korra and Tenzin evade it.
Another mecha tank attacks the metalbender cops but they dodge, shooting out cables to wrap around its arms, holding it down. Two more metalbender cops run up and metalbend to hold off another mecha tank.
Lin runs forward, dodging the grappler with uncanny reflexes and earthbends herself up into the air. She metalbends daggers from her wrist armor, and lands onto the head of the mecha tank. She breaks the glass by stabbing the front, missing the Equalist inside who dodges. She keeps stabbing, making the machine move backward and fall over.
While Lin attacks the mecha tank, Hiroshi moves his own mecha tank forward as Korra firebends to no effect. Tenzin airbends Hiroshi back and Korra as looks over her shoulder at the unexpected help.
As he airbends, the metalbender cops have a difficult time holding the other mecha tanks down, their cable spools starting to spark and overheat with the effort. As they are pulled forward by the tank, they raise the earth with their bending in an attempt to find more foothold to withstand the pull.
The mecha tanks wrap the cables around their arms and conduct electricity, electrocuting the officers until they lose consciousness and release their grip. Lin attempts to deliver another blow, but is grabbed from behind with a grappler, knocking her forward and against a metal support beam.
"Mom!" Ichiro exclaimed as he rushed forward as Lin is subsequently flung across the room and caught her before she hit the ground, where they both remain unconscious.
Tenzin and Korra help each other as they use their airbending and firebending respectively to push Hiroshi's mecha tank into the corner. Furious, Hiroshi shoots a grappler in Korra's direction.
Korra repeatedly back flips to avoid the attack. Having moved out of the path of the weapon, she earthbends a rock out of the ground and launches it at Hiroshi. At that moment, she is grabbed and shoved forward by another mecha tank's grappling hook, knocking her unconscious by slamming her against a large metal pipe.
Tenzin uses his airbending to cushion Korra's fall, who grunts as she connects with the floor. Now only he and Genji still stood to fight off Hiroshi and an Equalist using his airbending and an air wheel to evade their attacks. He jumps up, but Hiroshi Sato shoots bolas combined with an electric disk.
Tenzin is ensnared with it and grunts in pain as he is electrocuted. He roughly lands on the ground, unconscious.
"Well shit." Genji said, evading similar bolas from an Equalists. As he rolled, he took two flask from his belt and in a single swing, downed the content.
He let out a slight grown as his pupils turned completely black. Thick black veins appeared over his face and arms that line his face and arms.
"Hiroshi!" Genji shouted drawing his second blade, "I can drop all your men in less than ten minutes. Surrender now!"
"Wishful thinking, mutant." Hiroshi said as he continued the attack, shooting a grappler at him.
But at the last moment, Genji side stepped it, his speed and reflexes increased thanks to the Eel hound decoction he took in. With a single stroke of his blades, the line of the grappler was cut.
Slicing and evading as he went towards the mecha containing Hiroshi. He jumps up, blades aimed for the glass, but Hiroshi Sato shoots bolas combined with an electric disk. Genji is ensnared with it and grunts in pain as he is electrocuted.
He roughly lands on the ground. Hiroshi lets his gaze travel over the warehouse, thinking he has won.
"Well, I'd say that was a near flawless test run." he said as he and the Equalists exited their mecha's, "Load everyone into the transports and deliver them to Amon!"
But to their shock, Genji raised to his feet, having a increased damage threshold and strength thanks to the Goat gorilla decoction he took, the other decoction he took.
Snapping the bolas as he raises back up on his feet, "We are not done yet!" Genji shouted picking up his swords as he charged again.
Knocking a Equalists down by slicing at his leg. The downed Equalist rolls over but was finished when his head was sliced off.
Recovering from the shock that Genji was still standing, the remaining Equalists prepare another attack. Evading a strike from the first, planting his sword into the stomach from the second one.
Attempting to strike Genji, he evades under it, slicing him in two, sending the remains crashing against a mech. Going for a quick leg sweep, Genji leaps up and slashes one head clean off, spraying the other with blood as he threw his second sword through his chest, pining him down.
Landing on his feet, Genji swiped his head off and in the same movement retrieved his second sword from the now deceased Equalists.
"I can't believe it." Hiroshi's voice came from the speaker's, "Your not human..."
Turning around, Genji saw that the inventor had managed to get back into his mech tank.
"You think your tin can is going to stop me?" Genji said with a smirk, but he cough. His stomach sending back up some black sludge.
Spitting it out, as Hiroshi shoots out a grappler to capture him. Genji evades with a backflip, before rushing his forward.
Dodging the grappler with reflexes and jumps up into the air. Angling his blades downwards, landing onto the head of the mecha tank. He breaks the glass by stabbing the front, missing Hiroshi inside by inches. He keeps stabbing, making the machine move backward and fall over.
It wasn't long before the glass was broken open completely, leaving Hiroshi defenseless as he was thrown out of the mecha.
A hole is earthbend from the ground next to Ichiro, still holding Lin, and Bolin pops up from underneath along with Mako and Asami, they saw what had happened.
Hiroshi saw Genji stand over him, in a last ditch effort, he attempted to electrocute him with one of his gloves, but Genji evades the attack, stabbing the glove through the center and headbutting Hiroshi to the ground.
Blood coming from his nose, Hiroshi felt himself being pulled up by his hair.
"Told you I could drop your men in less than ten minutes." Genji said with a feral grin, "So sponsoring the team, supporting the Avatar. It was all just a big cover."
"Yes, and the most difficult part was watching my daughter traipse around with a firebending street rat!" Hiroshi spat at him with venom.
"Yeah, I can understand that part." Genji muttered as the gates leading deeper into the workshop open, and it seemed that Hiroshi had stalled for long enough that Equalist reinforcement had arrived, led none other than the Lieutenant.
"Your alive!?" Genji said casually upon seeing him.
"Dad, stop!"
Hiroshi turns around in surprise. Asami closes her eyes and turns her head away before looking back at her father in sadness.
"Sweetie, I wanted to keep you out of this as long as I could. But now you know the truth, please, forgive me." Hiroshi said as Korra and Ichiro regain consciousness, "These people, these benders, these mutants, these freaks! They took away your mother, the love of my life. They've ruined the world, but with Amon we can fix it and build a perfect world together. We can help people like us, everywhere! Join me, Asami."
Asami looks at her father with uncertainty, before shaking her head, "I love you, Dad." she said, "But what your doing is wrong!"
Tenzin and Beifong regain consciousness as Equalist noticed them.
"We need to go!" Genji shouted, his mouth filling with more black sludge.
They all run to the large hole Mako, Bolin and Asami came in. Right before a Equalist attempt to capture them, Bolin earthbends the hole shut.
Inisde the police airship floating away from the Sato mansion. Asami looks down at her former home in dismay, Lin lying down with Ichiro and Tenzin at her side. Genji was sitting on a bench, hurling and spitting out the black sludge in a bucket.
"So... Yeah..." Bolin said a bit awkward, "You alright?"
"Yeah... Just my body throwing back the Elixers. Happens to everyone." Genji said lowering his head as splashes of black sludge hit the bucket, "Well to most Shashou's anyway, normal people die. You should see what happens after three, or four in my case."
"My metalbenders are on their way to Amon, and it's all my fault. Tarrlok's right, I've failed as chief." Lin said weakly, "First thing in the morning, I'm handing in my resignation."
"What!?" Ichiro said shocked, "You can't give up."
"I'm not giving up, Ichiro. I'm gonna find my officers and take Amon down." Lin said determent, "But I'm gonna do it my way, outside the law."
Both Ichiro and Tenzin looks at her with concern.
Ichiro walked away from Lin, who fell asleep as Tenzin watched over her. He stood with Korra, both looking at the other, appreciative that the other was save.
"Glad your okay." he said softly.
"Yeah..." she said, a burning question in the back of her mind, "You too."
"I'm sorry I didn't believe you." Mako said as he approached the two, "But Asami's dad being an Equalist is not an easy thing to believe. Even now."
"I know." Korra said, "I'm sorry this whole thing happened."
"So..." Mako said, "Does your offer to live in the Air Temple still stand?"
"Of course it does." Korra said with a nod, "And Asami's welcome, too."
"Thank you so much." Mako said gratefully, glancing in the direction of Genji, "Is he going to be okay?"
"It's Genji, he will be fine." Ichiro said looking over his shoulder before turning to Mako, "Word of advice, she's going to need you, Mako."
Mako nods his head and walks toward Asami to comfort her as Ichiro put a arm around Korra, who seemed to find comfort in it as she leaned into him.
Sixth chapter which is builds more of the Shashou mythology and dropping hints for things to come. It also has one of my favorite Genji lines in it. Hope you enjoyed.
