And now story time.

It had been a few weeks since the defeated of Amon and his Equalists. Since then the council was disbanded and the United Republic was about to elected its first president. Genji had joked that he would throw in to become president but he backed out when Ichiro, Bolin and Mako exclaimed how much of a nightmare that would be.

Korra, had begun to date Ichiro and even though everyone said that everything was okay, Genji and Bolin still knew there was an issue or two between the group.

Now Genji was walking down the hall towards the female dorms on Air Temple Island, until he came to the door he was looking for.

"Asami." he said loudly as he knocked on the door, "I respect your privacy by knocking, but I'm asserting my dominance by coming in anyway."

Following that he immediately slid the door open and entered the room, it was a plain Air Temple room with very little changes to it. Genji studied Asami for a moment, her long raven hair that fell over her flawless face, lips painted in a beautiful hue of pink. Beautiful light green eyes with purple makeup that only added to the allure.

"So Lady Sato." he said, giving her a set of finger guns, "How are we doing?"

"Not sure about we, but I'm doing well Genji." Asami said with her caring smile, "What about you?"

"I'm Genji, I'm always doing good. The club is doing very well, though my favorite costumer hasn't visited in a while." he said crossing his arms, "You never write me anymore, you don't call. So something must be very wrong. Or you must be really hurting if you don't visit me."

Asami looked taken aback, "I can handle myself Genji." she responded turning away from him, "You don't need to worry about me I can take care of myself."

Genji rolled his eyes, she really was the complete opposite of him. She cares about others before herself, "I know you can but... look Asami but..."

"There is nothing to discuss." she said abruptly, "Mako dumped me for Korra, but she went with Ichiro. The break up was mutual. He didn't really love me any ways." looking away from him.

She suddenly felt a soft hand on her cheek, "But that is the fucked up part!" Genji said as her gaze meets his amber eyes, "After all you have done, sacrificed... How your father treated you, what he has done to you... you deserve better." looking straight into her eyes.

She let out a small sigh at this, placing her hand on his, "I have, Genji." she said with a smile, "I have you."

The two of them continued to gaze into each other's eyes as if in a trance. Asami moved closer to him, time seemed to slow as she shut her eyes and edged closer to each other.

"Hey Genji! Are you..." Bolin said as he entered the room.

Ruining the moment of Genji and Asami had as she backed away from him blushing madly. "Right... Well... Tenzin said that... So... yeah, I'll just go.", Bolin quickly said as he ran back down the hall.

Genji and Asami where frozen in silence, turning back to his friend, "Right... So, remember that bet we made during the Pro-bending finals? I've come to collect." Genji said with a smirk, "I need your help with something. Don't worry, nothing illegal. I just need you to drive me around town for a few errands. So, get ready and I see you in a few minutes."

He quickly left, closing the door behind him. He had no idea what had come over him. Shaking his head, Genji walked in the direction of the courtyard when he run into Tenzin.

"Hi nephew!" Genji greeted with a wave, "How's my second favorite airbending master doing?"

"Good morning." Tenzin said, already in his yellow and orange robes, "How many times do I have to tell you, your not my uncle?"

"Until the day you die." Genji said with a smirk.

Tenzin groaned in annoyance, but it soon faded when a voice shouted a greeting.

"What? What is it?" Genji said casual, looking over his shoulder in the direction the voice was coming from, before Tenzin grabbed him by the arm, dragging him with him in a panic.

"We need to hide!" he said and thinking quickly, he dragged Genji through the halls, down one back corridor, and finally through one particularly small door.

Shoving Genji in before following him, cramming the two in the already crammed broom closet.

"Tenzin." Genji said as he attempted to make some space, "Sorry to say this, but your not my type."

"It's nothing like that." Tenzin whispered sharply, pressing his ear against the door, "We are hiding."

"From what?" Genji asked, as Tenzin cringed as someone yelled his name, "Who is that?"

"It's..." Tenzin said with hesitation, "It's my brother."

"You mean Bumi!?" Genji shouted, "I am getting out!"

"No!" Tenzin said panicked, "I need you to hide me! Please! I'll call you uncle!"

"As much as I would like that, I'm having a not date with Asami and I'm not spending time in a broom closet with another guy!" Genji told him, "What is your problem with your brother anyway?"

The door to the closet was suddenly opened, the hall lights flooding the confined space as Tenzin and Genji tumbled out. Genji landed on the floor face down, with Tenzin on top of him. Looking up Genji saw Korra and a man almost as tall as Tenzin. He wears a red military jacket with tan colored pants. His brown hair hung past his shoulders, and his beard wrapped around his chin from ear to ear.

"His problem is that he thinks I bug him constantly." Bumi said.

"What where you two doing in the closet?" Korra said with a teasing grin, "Tenzin, what would Pema say!?"

"Okay first off, I'm so far out of Tenzin's league that if we did mated, it would have counted as interspecies breeding." Genji protested as he pushed Tenzin off him and stood back to his feet, "And secondly, if I would have sex with another man, and don't take this the wrong way Korra, it would be a Water Tribe guy."

"What?" Korra said confused and surprised, "Why!?"

"Have you ever seen a Water Tribe warrior in the nude? Because I have." Genji said with a knowing look as he turned to Bumi, "Look how old you have become."

"You haven't aged a day, uncle Genji!" Bumi said happily as he and Genji shared a hug, which wouldn't be out of place between a father and son.

"It's good to see you again, nephew." Genji said, his tone surprise Korra. She had never heard him talk about anyone with that kind of fondness, "Did you remember your training?"

"Of course." Bumi said saluting him, "Because of the training from Master Genji, I became Commander Bumi of the United Forces. But now I'm retired."

"Wait..." Tenzin said, "Retired?"

"That's right, little brother." the older brother said, "From now on it's round the clock Bumi!"

Tenzin groaned while Genji and Bumi laughed.

"Bumi, we need to catch up later." Genji said, shaking hands with him, "Your finally old enough for Firewhisky."

"We should uncle." Bumi said and the two shook hands, "It's good to have you back."

Later that day, after doing a bit of shopping. Genji told Asami to wait for him outside the police headquarters.

Walking through the halls, he was greeted by a few of the officers. During the last few weeks, he had been helping the police to round up the remains of Amon's followers and soon he was seen as one of their own.

Once he arrived at Lin's office, he saw that she wasn't there yet. So to pass the time, he sat in the chair behind her desk and began to spin around. Going for his fifteenth spin, the door finally opened and a surprised looking Lin stood there.

"Hey Beifong!" Genji said cheerfully.

"Genji, I'm pretty swamped at the moment." Lin said annoyed to see him, "Whatever it is, can it wait?"

"It most certainly cannot!" Genji said as he sprung up from the chair, "I received a speeding ticket!"

"Another one? And why are you sounding surprised?" Lin said irritated, "You went over a hundred in a school zone."

"Well if it wasn't for your officers coming to my deal, I wouldn't have had to!" Genji protested as he walked around and placing a hand on her shoulder, "How are you doing?"

"I'm fine." she said slapping his hand off her shoulder, "Now get out of my office. I have..." she let out a yelp when Genji pulled out a few of her hairs.

Outside, Asami was tapping her fingers on the steering wheel. She began to zone out before being startled by Genji suddenly slamming a hand on the window.

"Start the car!" Genji shouted, sliding over the hood, "Start the fucking car!"

He jumped through the open window, his legs sticking out of it as he shouted, "Hit the gas! Or we'll be dead or worse!"

The car sped off as leaving behind tire tracks, turning around a corner just as an angry looking Lin Beifong came through the doors.

Some time later, Genji stood with Asami carrying the bags with his shopping of the day in the elevator to his apartment. The Shashou was still holding the grey hairs once belonging to Lin.

"Why did you do that?" Asami said, referring to stealing some of Lin's hair.

"Need to test a theory." Genji said as he walked to his alchemy lab, "Just drop the bags on the bed. Help yourself to a drink, this will only take a short while."

Asami did so before walking over to his bar, only to find alcoholic drinks there. She made a short visit to the kitchen, but in the cupboards and refrigerator, she only found bottles of what she assumed to be more alcohol.

"There only whisky in your kitchen." Asami said as she exanimated a rather expensive looking bottle of amber liquid.

"There isn't in yours?" Genji said as he came out of his lab, "Now just to wait for the result... Are you going to wear that?"

"Why?" Asami said, looking down to her usual outfit, "What's wrong with the way I dress?"

"Nothing, it's just that everything you wear screams I like tinkering with engines and be covered in oil and grease." Genji said, walking to one of the bags and picking out two boxes, "You could at least mix it up every now and then."

He handed them to her, "The bathroom is there, get changed. I promise, I won't look." Genji said with a smirk, "Unless you want me too."

A smiling Genji, wearing his usual black business suit, stood inside the auction house in one of the wealthier district of Republic City. Asami, wearing a rather form fitting red dress, the side showing her leg and her black heels. Her arms and shoulders where bare with only a strap of a small black bag covering it.

Genji led the way to their seats, suddenly felt two arms snake around his. Asami had moved closer and grabbed a hold of Genji's arm.

"This is why you dressed me like this right?" Asami said irriated, "To be a arm accessory." as they walked down to their seats, the duo drew the attention of a few people, some even whispered behind their hands.

"Of course not, I got my watch right here. I just thought that dress would look good on you." Genji said as the two sat down, "And as always, I was right."

"Your so weird, Genji." Asami said, slightly shaking her head, "So how is this auction going to work?"

"They will bring out three lots to start with." Genji said holding his bidding plate, "Once they've sold, or not, there'll be an intermission."

"Anything in particular your interested in buying?" Asami said, placing the bag on her lap.

"I heard rumors, not sure if they are true or not but..." Genji said leaning back, "There is this particular sword I'm after." Their attention was drawn when the sound of hammer hitting wood was heard.

"Esteemed ladies and gentlemen! Welcome back!" the auctioneer said, "I hereby open the auction!"

The auction went on, the first two didn't seem to interest Genji all that much. The first lot was a beautiful statue which was suppose to have a clue towards a large treasure which once belonged to Chin the Conqueror.

The second lot was a painting, supposedly portraying a dark spirit called 'Satanael' tempting the brave warrior known only by the nickname of 'Eagle Bearer'.

"I remember that story." Asami said with some fond memory, "My mother used to read it to me. I always thought there was something romantic about it."

"Whatever floats your boat. The story even existed back when I was but a young lad." Genji said back, "Though the whole Satanael character is ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous!"

"Why?" she said amused, "Because he has the power to destroy the whole world?"

"I have lived a long life and I don't believe anyone has that kind of power." he said dismissively, before perking up at the third lot.

"Lot number three, ladies and gentlemen. A true iconic relic of the Southern Water Tribes greatest heroes." the auctioneer said as the piece was placed on the table, "A sword, forged using a fallen meteorite, crafted by the Water Tribe warrior Sokka during his swordsmanship training with swordmaster Piandao."

"Space sword." Genji muttered, seeing the object he had came for.

"Starting price of thirty thousand Yuans! Anyone tempted?" auctioneer said, "Number five offers an advance! Do I have..."

Genji held up his bidding plate, which of course was the number 69.

"My! Haven't we livened up! Forty thousand from Genji Chirayus! Going once! Twice! And we have fifty thousand from the gentleman in the back. Sixty! Sixty thousand now with Mr. Chirayus! Any advance on that!? Going one, twice, trice... and sold! Master Sokka's sword go the famous nightclub owner!"

"Notorious, maybe." Genji said.

The sun was starting to go down after another stop at Genji's penthouse, where he had placed the Space Sword on a pedastal on the mantel above his fireplace. He had taken a bag he had prepared earlier from his bar and now he had Asami drive him to the outskirts of Republic City.

"I heard that sword can cut through various metals with little effort." Asami said as she drove the car, "It should be a powerful weapon in a Shashou's hand."

"I didn't bought it to use it. I..." Genji said, his feet propped up on the dashboard, "I thought Sokka would be happy if I have it. Someone who can appreciate the craftmanship."

"So it's a memento to your friend?" she said.

"If that's what you want call it." he muttered, "Sure let's go with that."

"Come on." Asami said with an aside glance, "Don't tell me you don't miss people from your past."

"Not sure." Genji said casually, "I usually keep too busy to think about it."

"I don't believe that." Asami said shaking her head, "Underneath all that snark and aloofness, there is a person. A good one."

"Asami." Genji said seriously, "I kill people for a living. I've been told many times that is not a very good thing and I still don't believe it."

"And yet, you did help Avatar Aang save the world, you protected Republic City." Asami said with a gentle smile, "And before you try to spin it into an act of selfishness like 'all my nice stuff is here', I don't believe you."

Genji just shook his head in amusement, but it did gave him a small smile that at least someone had a pretty high opinion of him.

"So how is Future Industries doing?" he said as he took out a cigarette from a pack in his pocket, offering one to Asami, who declined.

"I... It's not doing so great." Asami said as she kept her eyes on the road, "Since my dad was thrown in prison, no company will work with us. We're nearly bankrupt."

"Your really in that much trouble?" Genji said taking a hit from his cigarette, "You know I can help you with that."

"Don't take this the wrong way, Genji." Asami said shaking her head, "But you don't strike me as someone who cares about all the petty details of a running a business."

"Such as covering wages or making sure the club is properly supplied with alcohol?" Genji said with a cheeky grin, "It's not like I run a very successful high-end night club."

"You probably have a general manager that runs it for you." Asami said and his chuckle made her think she was right, "You probably like the idea of owning a club and being able to party as much as you want but you would never enjoy the actual running of the business."

"Holy shit." Genji laughed loudly, "You figured me out!"

"Your not the only one who observe, a lot." Asami said with a grin.

"But one perk of owning a nightclub is, you make contacts with all sorts of people." Genji pointed out, "I know this guy, businessman from the Southern Water Tribe. Bit eccentric, but he knows how to make money. When we go on that trip to the South Pole, I'll introduce you. If you want that is."

They finally came to a stop at the destination, Asami looked through the window to see that it was a final resting place for the deceased.

"Well this is the final stop. Literally." Genji said as he picked up the bag, "Don't wait for me, just drive the car back to the docks for Air Temple Island. I'll pick her up next time I visit."

"What? Then how are you going to get home?" Asami said confused, not sure why they would be here.

"I'll find a way." Genji said, opening the car door, "Thanks Asami. It might not have been for you, but I had fun today."

"Your welcome." she said with a small nod of her head, "I had fun too."

He gave her a small smile with his nod before closing the door. She watched him walk away and disappear through the gate.

Asami was about to take a turn and drive back home but she then took a decision. Turning off the engine, she stepped out as well and followed in the direction Genji was going.

It wasn't easy to find him, as the resting place was build on a hill which wasn't easy to climb with her heels.

But nearing the top of the hill, the familiar voice reached her ears.

"Hey, Twinkle Toes. Sorry I'm so late."

This raised an eyebrow, she wondered why Genji would be meeting Korra in a place like this of all places. But once she reached the top, she only saw Genji, sitting by a gravestone, the bottle of a very rare and expensive firewhisky next to him, a glass of it in his hand and a second one placed on top of the grave.

"I'm doing fine, but things are so messed up. I might be a dad and I'm not sure how I feel about that. I have been such a dick to her and my potential grandson... Who turns out to also be your grandson... That some shit you only see in drama plays." Genji said, speaking to the stone, "The world has moved on... Guess I now know how you felt when you got out of that iceberg. Though your hundred years makes my measly fifty years look like a fifty years of being a bitch."

He let out sad chuckle, before taking a swing from his drink. "I've lost so many, Sokka, Suki and Ty Lee already left this world... But I promise you, I'll watch over the few that remain. Katara, Tenzin and the kids will want for nothing."

Genji finally stood up, raising his glass and drinking it down before pouring the second glass over the grave.

"I'll be seeing you, Twinkle Toes." Genji said, placing half of the bottle on top of the grave, "I'm gonna miss the shit out of you."

The gravestone read: 'Avatar Aang. Loving father, friend, master airbender and avatar'.
