AN: I'm more surprised than anyone else at how much gen I've written in comparison to the shippy stuff so far...
Mud (Towa, George, Crow, Angelica)
"She's taking an awfully long time…"
Crow shook his head. "Nah, not at all. Angie likes to really push her bikes, especially if they're new."
"Darn right she does," George agreed with a chuckle, his ears pricking up when he heard the roar of an orbal engine. "I wonder what she'll think of it?"
As if on cue, the off-road prototype crested the final hill and came to a stop in front of the trio, absolutely caked in grime and dust.
Angelica pulled off her helmet, revealing a grin that was wild, savage and utterly alive.
"I want one yesterday."
Distance (Clara, Gaius, Linde)
"Hey. So, you're the firsties?"
Gaius blinked uncertainly. Linde took a deep breath.
"T-That's right. My name is Linde, and this – "
"You answered me already," the second year said curtly, not bothering to hide her irritation as her gaze flicked upward. "Less talking, more doing. This club's not meant for idle chatter. Grab an easel and get to it. I'm Clara, by the way."
She started working again without another word and as one Gaius and Linde stopped and stared, transfixed by the sight of paint and talent coming together to conjure the distant horizon right before their eyes.
Lies (Rean/Alisa)
"I… uh, it really doesn't look that bad – "
"Liar," Rean grumbled, his lips curling into an oddly endearing cross between a scowl and a pout as he glared at what was supposed to have been a Seafood Salad.
"Yeah, kinda." Alisa sidled up next to him and gave him a nudge, smirking a little when he nudged her back. "Look, I get the need to be inventive and all that but maybe you should follow the recipe a bit closer until you get the hang of it?"
"Probably couldn't hurt. Take out then?"
She smiled. "You read my mind."
Rhythm (Elliot)
In retrospect, he probably should have been more intimidated.
He'd already known that most of his classmates didn't have the experience with performing that he did (even if they were all willing to learn) and now he was faced with the enormous task of composing a piece that they could all contribute to in a musical style he was wholly unfamiliar with.
Yes, this was nothing if not intimidating. And yet…
Elliot closed his eyes and started tapping his fingers, the notes echoing in his head as he figured how to blend Laura's power with Alisa's focus with…
One-two. One-two.
