AN: There needs to be more TX fanwork :/

Living Legend (Class VII)

Once upon a time, there had been a group of kids.

Oh, they were certainly special kids, there was no doubting that (not an ordinary one to be found in the bunch) but they were just kids nonetheless, plucked from all over the vast reaches of Erebonia and pushed to come together into what their friends and foes would come to know as Class VII.

They learned and grew, their beliefs forged and shaped by the precious friends they fought beside, never once imagining how far they'd come; never once imagining that one day, people would tell stories about them.

Breathe (Monica, Laura)

She broke the surface with a gasp, her lungs burning for oxygen.

"H-How long was that?" Monica managed, every fiber of her being trembling like it never had before.

Laura looked down at her stopwatch and smiled in approval. "You beat your last time by two seconds. Congratulations."

"That's an improvement, I suppose," she mumbled, still a little woozy. "I was hoping it would have been more, though!"

"Every journey begins with a single step," Laura replied, ever the voice of experience. "Keep applying effort and you'll be where you want to be before you know it."

She believed her.

Shards (Rean)

Adrift in the void, he dreams.

There are no whole moments, nothing complete. His body, mind and soul are far too exhausted for that. All that can breach the darkness are glimpses and flashes; the broken shards of a year well lived.

Pain blossoming in his shoulder as he falls, all bickering forgotten.

Watching a 50 mira coin shine as it briefly soars through the air.

Moonlight glinting off golden hair, a stolen moment underneath the skies of Nord.

The roar of the crowd as they play, like an orbal engine with a heartbeat.

For the barest instant, a smile.

Land (Kou, Yuuki, Sora, TX)

Yuuki drops like a rock even as the Greed fades from existence, and try as he might Kou can't quite hide his snicker.

"Yeah, probably should've warned you about that. Sticking the landing can be a bitch."

"You don't say?" Yuuki grumbles, looking up with as much dignity as he could muster and waving Sora off when she scrambles for a restorative. "And zip it, it's not that funny!"

"Don't worry, Yuuki-kun," she says next, shooting a mild look of disapproval at Kou. "If it helps, I had trouble that with too."

"She totally did. Same noise and everything."

"H-Hey!"
