ChaseTheSoul: Now, now, what's wrong with Pema? She gave Tenzin more of a look because she was confused about what Meelo said.
Before I forget to mention it, I'm changing something else in this story about a certain character, you'll see.
And now story time.
In the morning, an airship is preparing to land at Air Temple Island. Air Acolytes pull the airship in with ropes. Kya, Pema, Tenzin, Rohan, Jinora, Ikki, Meelo, Mako, Bolin, Bumi, Ichiro, and Korra all stand together, as the airship lands.
The doors slide open, showing Genji, wearing a pair of black aviator sunglasses, white dress shirt with a black floral pattern, worn open to show off his abs and black cargo shorts, and Asami standing just inside the vehicle.
"Genji is captain of the party airship!" he yelled loudly holding up a bottle of his favorite drink, "Arr!"
"Do I want to know?" Ichiro said, shaking his head.
"Hey if we're going on a vacation to Ba Sing Se..." Genji said as they came down the ramp.
"Not a vacation." Ichiro corrected him, "We're going to look for airbenders."
"We'll do that too! Doesn't mean we can't mix business with pleasure." Genji said with a grin, "Seeing as we have no Appa around, I asked my lovely girlfriend who owns Future Industries, to built me a kickass airship."
"That's amazing." Korra said, turning to Asami, "Your company built this airship in three days?"
"We are good, but not that good." Asami said with a laugh, "Genji had ordered it a few months ago."
"Yay, airship!" Meelo shouted.
"I wanna see!" Ikki said, making an air scooter before she rides it up the ramp of the airship. Meelo makes an air scooter and follows Ikki up the ramp into the airship.
As Tenzin was bidding his farewell to Pema, while Genji held on Rohan as Kya stood next to him, and promises to let her know once airbenders have been recruited to train at the Northern Air Temple.
"Who is a good little airbender? You are, yes you are." Genji said gently bouncing him up and down, "Who's excited to spend some time with your Auntie Kya?"
Quickly turning the baby around so that Rohan vomits on Kya's chest before he giggled.
"I like you, Rohan." Genji said with a smirk, "Best thing is, I did the exact same on Katara with Kya."
Kya waterbends the vomit off of herself. Genji spotted Lin coming over to them.
"Hey, Ichiro." Genji said turning around, "Hold your little brother for a moment." before handing Rohan to him before walking away.
The eldest airbending brother looked at his youngest half-sibling, Rohan looking confused at Ichiro, who seemed to be unsure himself what to do with a baby much to Kya's amused.
"So uh..." Ichiro said unsure, "You want a beer?"
"He's nine months old!" Kya protested.
"I don't know!" Ichiro said.
"Lin!" Genji said happily as he met his daughter half way, "I'm so glad you came to see us off!"
"I asked around for airbending sightings in the Earth Kingdom." she said, holding out a map, "I marked the villages on this map. You guys can take it with you."
"Thanks Lin." Genji said, "You sure your not coming along?"
"Somebody needs to stay and keep Republic City in order." Lin said with her arms crossed, "And we both know it isn't going to be Raiko."
"That's my g..." Genji said before stopping himself, "That's our Beifong, yeah... That's what I wanted to say."
"Right, look I'm going to say goodbye to Ichiro." she said walking past him, "Just... Be careful out there, alright?"
"We're only going to bring the Air Nation back from the brink of extinction after nearly two hundred years!" Genji said casually, "What is out there that can possible kill me?"
Meanwhile in a secret prison at the Northern Water Tribe in the Western Tundra. A strong blizzard rages on outside. A lift comes up, fence gate opens as Aizen led Zaheer and two of his friends broken out of other prisons.
A tall man with long black hair and blue tattoos on his back and arms named Ghazan. And a shorter woman with long black hair, lacking her arms named Ming-Hua.
Aizen himself was now clean shaven face and a hair cut so it now was swept back, with a strand hanging down his face. His outfit now consisted of a skintight, grey high-collared shirt under a white coat with long tailcoats. His red belt is tied like an obi-sash and he wears white hakama.
As the lift is going down to the prison cell, clouds form at his mouth. When the door of the lift opens, basking the foursome in light, Aizen is the first to walk out over a bridge leading over a deep chasm.
White Lotus Sentries are waiting for them. Aizen smirked as his eyewhite turn black.
Aizen launched himself into the air and over the White Lotus firebending attack. He gripped two sentry by the head before slamming them into the ground, spilling their brains all over the ice.
As more sentries start coming out over the bridge, Aizen evades under two more blast before jabbing their throats, crushing their wind pipes. A third sentry waterbends at Aizen, which he evades again before gripping the arm and bending it back until it breaks.
The screaming was quickly silenced when the waterbender was thrown to the floor close to the cage before the head was kicked in when Aizen's boot planted itself on it.
"We got her!" Zaheer shouted, "Let's go Aizen!"
Aizen looked over his shoulder to see Zaheer, Ghazan, Ming Hua and the one they came for, a firebender named P'Li, already in the lift. Closing his eyes, as his eyes turned to normal before joining them inside the elevator.
As soon as the doors closed and it began to climb back to the surface, Zaheer and P'Li embraced each other.
"I thought I'd never see you again." P'Li said with a sad smile.
"I've never doubted it." Zaheer said, having to stand on his toes so he could reach the taller P'Li for a kiss on the lips.
Ghazan glares at them, "Really. Right now?" he said as he crossed his arms in front of his chest. Meanwhile Aizen had a small smile on his face as he glanced at them out of the corner of his eye.
"Who is the new guy." P'Li said.
"P'Li, meet Sojiro Aizen." Zaheer said, "The legend in the flesh.:"
"Wait, he's real?" the woman said surprised.
"That's the third time I heard that." Aizen said with a nod.
"Holy shit he talked." Ghazan said surprised, "Almost thought you couldn't."
"I was thinking, going over some things in my head." Aizen said as they reached the surface, "And I need some answers."
A day later, after a long day of trying and failing to recruit any new airbenders. Genji was laying on the sofa in the lounge area, a book on his head a bottle of booze on the table as he was asleep.
"You think he's dead?" Ichiro murmured as he sat on the table with Korra, who was resting her head on her folded arms.
"I don't know what to do." Korra said, "I just thought more people would be excited about coming with us."
"I know rebuilding the Air Nation is important, but just because someone is able to airbend now, doesn't make them an Air Nomad." Ichiro said placing a hand on her arm, "We can't just go around and force people to abandon their entire life's and their friends and family."
"I guess your speaking from experience..." she said with a deep sigh, "I guess we have to try Bolin's idea."
"Okay, I know this is random." Genji said suddenly sitting up as the book fall on his lap, "But something has been bothering me for a while now and I need to know."
"Guess he's still alive." Ichiro said, with a tone that made them unsure if he was actually disappointed.
"What's up, Genji?" Korra said, looking at him from her seat at the table.
"I know you haven't had sex yet because it's seems the universe is against you and Ichiro mating and there is no way you had sex while in the White Lotus compound you grew up in." Genji began turning to his grandson, "But how long has it been since you had sex?"
"Is this one of those thing you won't drop? Like when you kept throwing things at me to see if I was an airbender or not?... Fine." Ichiro said annoyed, "Two..." much to the surprise of Genji and Korra.
"Two weeks?" Genji said surprised, "I mean, that's not so bad but how?..."
"Years." Ichiro corrected him.
"Two years!?" Genji shouted with wide eyes of shock, "How are you still walking upright!?"
Ichiro moaned and put his face in his hands, "Can we drop it. The last time was with my ex girlfriend."
"Didn't know you had an ex." Korra said.
"Korra, come on." Genji scoffed gesturing to his grandson, "I'm pretty sure you have seen him without a shirt. Also he's quarter me through his mom."
"A thought that still terrifies me." Ichiro said, "Look there isn't much to talk about. We dated for a six months give or take, when she was on some sort of exchange program with Republic City. Still not sure who we send but I don't think we ever got him back. Anyways, she had to go back to Zaofu seeing as she was a head of security there, she tried to convince me to come with her but... I can never leave Republic City like that."
"I know. It may not be perfect, but it's home. I love Republic City." Genji said with a smile, "But what is this Zaofu? Never heard of it."
"It's a city made entirely of metal." Ichiro said, "It's suppose to be very beautiful. Especially this time of year."
The following day over at an Earth Kingdom town, made up of sandy-colored rock. A small crowd disperses from around the airship after they gave the airbending demonstration, but a young boy maybe a bit older than Jinora, with dark hair and Fire Nation amber eyes and pale skin runs up to the group.
"Hello. If you're looking for airbenders, you just found one." the boy said and he proceeds to demonstrate his airbending abilities by producing a few air punches, "I wanna join you guys!"
"We got our first recruit." Korra said as the group got excited, "Just to be totally clear, we're going to be heading to Ba Sing Se, then the Northern Air Temple to live as nomads and rebuild the Air Nation. All that sound good to you?"
"Sure thing, ma'm." the boy said, "I got nothing else to do."
"This is going to be so great!" Bolin shouted jumping in the air, "You going to love it, er... real quick, what's your name?"
"Soshi." the boy said with a bow, "Sir."
Genji's eyes widen when he heard the name as he turned to the boy, lowering his sunglasses, "Well fuck me in the keyhole." he muttered.
"What about your parents?" Tenzin asked, "We can't have you come with us without their permission."
"My parents are... gone." Soshi said, looking down to the ground, "They were killed a few years ago. I've been living on the streets ever since."
"Well, you don't have to live on the streets anymore." Bolin said as he starts to shed some tears, looking at the group, "Right guys? Tell him."
"Sorry about that kid. It might be a bit soon, but family isn't only the people your related to, I should know." Genji said, placing a hand on his shoulder, "Anyways we are here for you."
Bolin wraps his arm around Soshi's shoulder, "When you board this airship, you're going to leave your old life behind and start a new path." he said, "That's big brother advice. Just think of me as your big brother."
Soshi had a grin on his face as everyone boards the airship.
"Hi, I'm Jinora." she said with a blush, "If you need any help with airbending, I could show you what I know."
"Thanks, I could use the help." he said with a smile.
This little interaction did not go unnoticed by Genji nor Ichiro.
The sun was going down as five ostrich horse's galloped through the black mountain range in the Fire Nation. The air was cold as Aizen was steering the ostrich horse through the narrow path with Zaheer riding with P'Li, and Ghazan with Ming-Hua sitting behind him.
"You don't have to come with me." Aizen said over his shoulder, "I can do this on my own."
"Zaheer got you out of your prison, but you got us out of ours." Ming-Hua said, "But you got us out of ours."
"Yeah, what she said." Ghazan said, "We owe you one. Least we can do is back you up."
"I don't need back-up." Aizen said but he had a small smile on his face, "But it's appreciated."
"How far now?" Zaheer said just as Aizen steered his ostrich horse into a opening in the mountain wall.
"Not far." Aizen said, his voice echoing against the wall as they rode through the dark cavern, "Just a little further."
It wasn't long before they emerged out of the dark cavern and back into the light. Ming-Hua let out a low whistle upon seeing the breathtaking view. In the distance a temple was located, designed to look like it was coming out of its natural surroundings like a stone dragon.
Riding the Ostrich horse across the stone bridge leading to the temple. Nobody was around to greet them, but Aizen took a moment to stare at the several training area's. Stepping off the Ostrich horse, Aizen patted it on the side before tying the reigns down.
"What kind of graveyard is this?" Ghazan said as they got off their Ostrich horse.
"Very interesting choice of words." Aizen said with a look of seriousness on his face before leading the way.
Chapter 25, which yeah is just a set-up.
If you've read any of my other Avatar books, I honestly don't care about Kai. So I replaced him with a version of Soshi Shuang. I thought with the Multiverse thing, there could be a Soshi running around in Arcmoani Network 9.
But rest assured, there won't be another version of Jason in this story, because while I like writing for him and he's still my favorite OC, he does happen to upset the power balance.
