New Light in the Stars

Chapter 2

Now we'll get into the adventures that Joris and Cin will be going on to try and help the young Jedi build his sabers. And we'll peek in on a few places beyond the mention of the film universe that has been created. So on with the show.

(No POV)

As the ship was leaving Coruscant's atmosphere, Joris was still excited for the trip. As it might finally help him finish his lightsabers. Master Drallig took the ship just beyond the bustling space ways of the planet before talking with Joris what he had in mind.

"I thought it might be a good idea for you to see some of the roots of the order and our oldest extension of the Force. The lightsaber. We'll go to Tython first. See the Forge and the former temple that was there." Cin said while putting in some coordinates for the jump to lightspeed.

As the master mentioned a few more planets that could aid in his understanding, Joris's eyes lingered on the star map for a while. And he was looking at a pair of sectors. The first he knew was where Mandalore was. The second was a sector near there. With only one known habitable planet: Tao.

Joris shook his head a few times when Cin noticed the boy spacing out. "I hope I'm not boring you," the Battlemaster says with an unamused look on his face. "No! No, its not like that master. Something….. something felt off or weird. I don't know how to explain it. For some reason, I kept focusing on two sectors away from where we're going."

Cin's eyes widened at hearing this, and he hummed a moment before suggesting they follow that insight. "The Force operates in strange ways. Perhaps we should follow some of your insights. Given this is your quest in a way. So. Where do we go first?"

Joris is wide eyed and gulps before turning back to the star map. He looks it over a few times. Thinking about which to pick. But he slows down for a second and realizes that was counter to what he had been doing earlier. So, he closes his eyes and holds his hand over the map. With Cin Drallig watching intently from the side.

The boy starts to feel the pull on his hand toward a position and points to it. "Alright. Tao first." Cin says before reprogramming the computer for the Outer Rim. It would take a few days or so for them to reach their destination, but Cin had ways for them to pass the time.

Aside from making sure the youngling would continue his studies, he also brought a hologame table to test the boy's patience and strategy skills. They spent the time as well as they could. With Cin getting the best of Joris in their matches, but still being impressed with a few near wins.

When they finally reach the watery world, Joris is wide eyed at the beauty. Cin smiles at this before heading to the city the planet was named after, Tao. Once there and landed, Joris noticed a few people walking up in strange, robed garb.

But before he could ask about that, Cin had taken his own pack and was opening the hatch. Joris grabs his pack and followed the old master outside. Once there he saw the Battlemaster bowing to the people who arrived.

"I take it you are of the Yasaburo clan?" Cin asked as Joris jogged to catch up. The old man with grey hair and had a strange shaped vibroknife in his belt nodded to this. "Indeed, master Jedi. I am Yasaburo Hachimon. The current boss of the clan."

"Boss? Does that make you like a crime boss?" Joris asked with a raised eyebrow. The old man looked down at the boy with a critical eye. As did a few others around the landing area. Especially one young man who seemed a bit younger than Obi-Wan, with a flame like robe over his main robes.

After thinking he'd insulted them, Joris was going to apologize. But the old man laughed a bit before saying, "I suppose it could look like that from that title or from the outside. But it's not quite that simple young man. But where are my manners. Please come this way."

Joris is still unsure of the situation before him, but he follows the master's lead as they walk through the bustling city of Tao. His eyes wandered to the various stalls and shops throughout the bazaar. Almost mystified by what he was seeing all the different ways of living.

"Is all this that strange to you kid?" the young man who told Joris his name was Yasaburo Yassu. Joris looked down a bit in embarrassment before admitting that he hadn't been of Coruscant once before. "At that was to get my crystals. I never left the Temple."

Yassu's eyes were a little wide at this before joking that almost everything was new to him. In Joris's mind, both sides of him knew they had never really seen things like what he was seeing now. Even his training with the Jedi hadn't gone beyond the Temple. Making this a very big moment in both of his minds.

The Jedi are escorted to the clan's home and are directed on the traditions of the planet. In a large audience hall, the boss is leaning on cushioned block with a few of his men around. While the Jedi were kneeling in a position similar to their meditation positions.

"So. The boy is having troubles with making his lightsabers? And his insights told him to come here?" the boss asks while smoking from his pipe. Cin nods and notes that this is a start to their journey. "And his quest to deepen his connection. The Force pointed him here."

The boss nods before giving his marching orders. He allows the Jedi to stay at his estate and he wants his men to practice and train with both men. At the same time he asked some others to bring the records of their clan and the history they have with the Jedi.

"Thank you Boss Yasaburo. I'm certain this will help Joris grow in the Force. And….. it might help some of your men grow in their own skills." Cin says with a bow. Joris mirrors it while being curious about what would happen in the next few days.

The first day there Yassu offers to spar first with Joris to see what the kid could do. Only to be surprised at the ways Joris would evade, counter, strike and even use the Force while wielding two wooden swords.

Exemplified by Joris throwing the blade and quickly calling it back. Then when Yassu blocked the returning weapon, Joris grabbed his leg and amped his strength to sweep the teen's legs. He then turns and Force pushes Yassu away.

"Okay! Oh ow. Didn't expect that. But man. That was incredible!" Yassu said after picking himself up. In the afternoon, Joris would read over the records of the earliest Yasaburo clan members. And how they were entrusted with a special lightsaber that was handed down for generations.

For the next few days, Joris would train with the members of the clan and study up on the strange Force history of the clan. Hachimon himself sparred with Joris and saw the raw skill the boy had in Form 6. And then saw it fall apart when he tried to use his actual lightsabers.

But with the traditional weapons of his clan, Yassu noted that the boy seemed like he knew just how to wield them. With Joris himself noting that he could feel something special when he held the sais or naginata of the Yasaburo. "Like the wills and hearts of those who had wielded it before." Joris said after practicing.

One evening while sharing a drink with Cin, the boss shared his thoughts on why Joris might be having issues. "It could be his sense in the Force is pulling him somewhere most of the Jedi avoid. Not forbidden in the case of the Dark Side. But perhaps there is something else that speaks to him."

"You could be right. I noticed it when he wielded the blades and other weapons of your clan. He can understand and use them without issue. It's not as an attuned focus as a Jedi with their lightsaber. But it is there." Cin notes before enjoying his drink.

A day or so later, Cin and Joris feel as though they have gained something. With Joris feeling as though his skills and understanding to Niman had even grown. "If only I could put it into my blade."

"Before you go. Something to take with you," the boss says before asking his men to bring an item. What they pulled out was a short broad sword with a single edge and a very solid design.

The boss picked it up and the sheathe before handing it to Joris. "This was something we recovered after a battle with group of raiders. Mandalorians from long ago. The blade is beskar and was held by one of the last of fall when their group attacked our world."

Joris looked it over before asking why he was giving it to him. The old man smiled and said he noticed something while it was stored in one of the back rooms. "That old blade seemed to vibrate and hum as you trained. Perhaps… It is a sign it wants to be used by someone like you."

The two Jedi look down at the sheathed weapon with some trepidation. Joris hums before unsheathing it. He can feel something, and it shows as he moves the blade deftly in the short space. He returns the blade to its sheath and thanks the boss.

"Hey kid. Good luck with finding your Force. And if you ever want some different training, the Yasaburo clan would be happy to have you." Yassu says with a handshake to the boy. Cin thanks Hachimon before heading back to their ship to find their next destination.

Once out of the atmosphere, the two Jedi looked over the blade that was gifted to the young man. "I believe that is a Beskad blade. And it is perhaps pure beskar given the look and age of the blade and hilt." Cin mentions when Joris pulls the blade out a bit.

"It does have an interesting feel about it when I hold it. But there's something else. I can't put my exact finger on it, but the blade feels….. incomplete. Like now that I have it, it feels it could go beyond what it could do in a Mandalorian's hands."

Joris's statement gives the Battlemaster pause for thought. He nods before asking the young man to pick out the next destination. This time it is less deliberate that the last. He feels his hand pulled toward Tython and that is where their journey led them.

It was another long trip given it was a return to the core worlds, but in that time both came to a mutual respect. With Cin finding Joris's interesting mix of a child's imagination and mind, alongside what he felt was the wisdom of someone who lived a fulfilling life all its own.

And Joris appreciated the Jedi Master's pragmatic look at the role of the Jedi. Acknowledging that they were not the peacekeepers they should be. But what they had to be to protect the peace of those they could reach.

"There have been…. Many times, I wished we could do more than just cleaning up some of the refuse of lower city areas. Arresting Ziiro the Hutt instead of just his lackeys for one. But I know that we… don't have the same kind of presence we once had. So, we do what we can and try to protect the peace wherever possible."

Joris nods before returning to some meditations. Only to be brought out of them once they reached Tython. Joris hummed while looking out onto the world. Even without getting closer, he could feel all of the living Force coming from the planet.

"Whoa. This is…. Incredible and intense." Joris says with a gulp. The old master agrees and has an idea on where they could start to look for answers. He directs them towards the continent of Talss where the records of the old Jedi temple used to be.

Upon landing, they both see the ruins of where so many Jedi trained and learned to commune with the Force. And where some of the first lightsabers were formed by heroes of the bygone ages. Even the Forge, a hallowed ground where the Jedi of Tython would forge their blades.

In a few of these places, Joris could feel and sense the connection. But it still wasn't quite right. Even while looking at some of the oldest designs or the preserved pieces of the ancient Jedi. Trying to form them into his lightsaber felt off.

After a few days on the planet, the youngling felt a different pull from the Force to a different area. He followed his instincts to an area near a volcano. It was in this place that he also felt the Beskad blade vibrate as well.

"Huh. That's interesting. What's here?" Joris asked aloud as he kept walking around. He suddenly felt a spike in the Force from a cave that seemed to lead into the volcano itself. It ebbed and flowed out, almost as though there was someone channeling the Force through there.

He walked forward cautiously as he felt the flow of the Force around him, lighting his saber to try and see the way. And what he found awed him. Upon leaving the smaller cavern, it opened up into a massive cave structure within.

Looking around, he suspected that it could have been a forge of some type. There were anvils and hammers around, not to mention he saw a flow of lava going nearby that would have provided quite a bit of heat.

As Joris was looking around, something fell over behind him. It of course startled him, but what was inside intrigued him. There looked to be multiple ingots of durasteel, but something felt off about them. And through his perception in the Force Joris could sense what some of it was.

"These…. Aren't just normal ingots. They're practically thrumming and glowing with the Force." Joris thought aloud as he looked at a few. Some had a natural heat to them. Others felt charged with pure power. Some had a stillness and calm akin to stone. Other's felt as if they were containing a sea.

As Joris was looking at the metals and voicing his thoughts, someone else had their own opinions. "Indeed, they are young one. These ingots I made myself by mixing for….. I have no idea how many years now." Joris heard this behind him and gulped.

He turned and saw a shimmering blue Cathar in front of him. He had long hair behind him and in his yellow eyes Joris saw a mix of pride, mirth, and a touch of sadness as he looked down at the metals. "Forgive me for startling you. I am Tem Madog. Once the Forge Master here in Vur Tepe, I prided myself on the steel I made for our blades long ago."

He looks down as he recounts how the blades were broken by invaders using hilts that channeled the Force itself. Learning how to make them as fast as possible to counter the incoming horde.

"But some part of me never forgot the swords I made. The hours and days I would spend forging the blades and instructing new Je'daii how to make their blades their own. With their own Force, sweat, and heart." Madog said while looking back at his former workshop.

Joris hums before asking what was with the other ingots that were there. "Ah those. As I said, I never forgot my old blades and the steel they were made from. What made me famous for a time. After I passed during the war, I came back here. For the longest time, I could do nothing but stew on my failures. Then I chose to try and make my steel stronger. To make blades that would compete and perhaps even surpass the Forcesabers."

Madog's ghost says this with pride beaming on his face. But it soon fades as he acknowledged that by the time he'd made his new steel, there were no Je'daii or Jedi to pass the secret he'd unlocked to.

"So here I stayed. And as I stayed, more of mine and the Force of the planet mixed with my steel. Normally it would take on form or attributes after being forge. But as you noticed, they have the Force within them as if it was natural." With Madog's story done, he chooses to ask who Joris was. Noting his young age.

Joris gulps before saying, "I'm…. well I guess you could say I'm a descendant initiate of the Order you helped to create." Madog's eyes are wide and asks what he meant. Joris notes the current year and what had changed about the galaxy. Even showing his current sabers.

"Incredible! So, this is what became of our research of the Forcesabers. Hm….. but it feels off. You cannot connect with it properly can you?" Madog says while looking at one of the blades Joris made. The young man looks down before agreeing. "Master Drallig thought that by coming here to Tython. Where some of our order began. I might be able to get past my block."

The ghost nods before putting in his own thoughts. Given he had been around the ways to make weapons for Je'daii for millennia. Joris looks to the ghost with some trepidation, but he asks what could be missing. Madog reaches out with what senses he can still feel and finds something of a link. Multiple ones in fact.

"I think I know one part of it. Your main lightsabers are missing something special. Something to play into the two elements of the Force that are surging within you. Part of you is quite comfortable with blades alone. But the other part needs something else. Something strange to….. well all of us in the Je'daii. But I don't think you can find all of it here."

Joris looks down with a bit of sadness and thanks the spirit of the former master. But this is when Madog brings up a different piece that could aid Joris. "That blade you have with you seemed to resonate with some of the steel I have here. Perhaps you could use it….. in an almost archaic way. Something that both sides of you can understand."

"But I don't know how to make a blade out of your steel. And this is Mandalorian Iron. I wouldn't even know where to begin with….. That's why I looked to the Mandalore sector! Maybe we could find an armor smith or someone who could help me work the beskar and… and your steel."

As Joris said that last part, he looked to the ghost of the ancient master with a smile. One the ancient Cathar returned before suggesting letting the Force, and the blade he had with him, be the guide.

The youngling took out the Beskad before pouring a bit of the Force into the blade and through it to see if it would link with any of the metal. After a few minutes, the blade seemed to be pulling between two sets of ingots. The thrumming electric power, and the rampaging force of the sea.

"Take them youngling. Take even a few others if you feel it could have use. I have no need for them anymore. And perhaps some of the old wills of our order will be remembered." Madog says before thanking the young Jedi. Before he leaves, Madog passes Joris a crystal that he said was essential for the forming of a Force sword. Joris nods and thanks the master for helping him to find his link deeper to what could make his weapons.

After collecting a few of the ingots and separating the ones he wanted to use with the Beskad, Joris made his way out of the volcano. And right into the worried and angry form of Master Drallig.

The Battlemaster scolded him for about an hour as they walked back to their ship and camp. But when they were back, Joris revealed what he had found in the volcano of Vur Tepe. "Incredible. To think you found such an ancient link to our history. And one that could talk back."

Joris had a laugh at what the master had said and then noted that they needed to find a Mandalorian who could work beskar. "With their help, and with what Master Tem Madog taught me, I can make something new with this blade." Joris says while holding up the blade.

Cin hums before noting that the matter could be difficult given the current state of Mandalore. "They are still rebuilding after the Civil War. And many of the armorers who would know how to work the metal would not take kindly to Jedi."

Joris hums before thinking about the blade in his hand. He reaches out with the Force through it again, and he can feel it pulling at him. Not pointing at him to wield it to kill necessarily. But that it or the will that was still with it, wanted to be used for something great.

With that done, Joris's mind is resolved, and he says they still have to try. Cin just snorts and says, "Master Yoda would tell you to do or do not. But I take your meaning. We have to at least make an attempt to find someone who could help you." Joris laughs along with the master and is ready for the next adventure.

It takes a few days again where they have to go to the outer rim to reach Mandalore. And once there, they see that some new cities were being built across the ruined desert of the planet. Joris sighs at seeing this and wondering if there was ever a way to return what wildlife used to be there.

Cin takes their shuttle to the Keldabe space port for a customs inspection. Upon seeing that the two were Jedi, the port officials detained them until someone higher up could be notified.

That higher up being someone neither of them expected. "Obi-Wan! You…. You're not Obi-Wan or Master Jinn." The one speaking and addressing the pair was the current ruler of Mandalore, Duchess Satine Kryze.

She clears her throat before apologizing to the two Jedi. After the pair introduce themselves, Satine asks the question burning in her and everyone else's mind. "Why are you here, Master Jedi?"

Cin looks down at Joris who steps forward before mentioning the Force directed him here after a few other adventures. "It would take a while to explain your grace. But I can show you one thing that helped lead me here. In a sense." Joris says before asking to have his pack back.

With a nod from the duchess, Joris pulls out the blade and the two ingots he wanted to forge into the beskar sword. Upon seeing it, a few were uneasy. But Satine took a close look at the blade and noted it's age and the metal.

"You seek an armorer. Someone who could work beskar." Satine surmises upon picking up the other ingots. "Yes, your grace. It's not been so much visions as it has been….. other instincts pulling and pushing me to these locations. I have no other way to explain it than that." Joris says with a straight face.

The duchess nods before looking down at the blade in slight disgust before looking back to the boy in question. "Could you all give us a minute? I wish to speak to the boy alone." Satine asks before sheathing the blade. Cin and her guards nod before leaving the room with the weapons coming with them.

Satine looks down and back at the Jedi youngling and analyzes him a bit. "Tell me young man. What do you think of the Jedi's role as peacekeepers of the galaxy?" Satine asks with a minor touch of distaste.

Joris smirks a bit before making a speech of what she probably assumed most younglings would say. "But that isn't the real truth. For all our power, all the influence we have had throughout the galaxy's history….. we are limited and frankly not where we need to be to really help others."

The speech surprises Satine before humming and agreeing with the young man. "They are peacekeepers and negotiators to try and protect the galaxy. But you are correct. There are many who….. suffer at unjust hands and the Jedi can do little against it. Partially thanks to the current Supreme Chancellor. But also because they fear losing the tenuous peace of the galaxy being lost. Though I doubt they'd admit to that fear."

Joris chuckles a bit at this before asking his own question about why she hoped Obi-Wan would be the one here. She blushes lightly before trying to cover it up. "There's something there, right? Something….. you both wish you could act on. But neither of you really can. And it pains you both. Because you do love him. And he you."

Satine is surprised by the insight of someone she thought just a child. She smiles once more before saying, "are you sure you are just a youngling? And not a master disguising himself as one?" Both share a laugh before the duchess agrees to point out a possible armorer who could help him.

"Concordia. That is where many of our warriors that remained were exiled. It might be your best chance to find someone who could mold the beskar and those other metals into something strong." Satine says before granting the pair passage to leave.

Both Jedi bow and thank the duchess before returning to their ship. "What did she want to talk to you about?" Cin asked as he was starting up the repulsorlifts for the ship. Joris thinks for a moment before smiling. "Just a few questions about my life as a Jedi and about our adventure so far."

Upon landing, both Jedi could see that the moon itself was also something of a shell. With Cin expositing that the insurgents who adhered to the old ways of Mandalore turned it into this while mining for materials. Nearly destroying the moon's forests.

"How about you take the controls now Joris?" Cin said while letting go of the ship's steering. Joris quickly grabbed the controls in front of him and asked what the master was thinking. "I was thinking, that if who we are searching for is here and the sword and metals truly can become a weapon for you. Then the Force will guide you."

Joris was a bit uneasy as he pulled back on the throttle and didn't think about it as he steered in the skies of the moon. After an hour or so, Joris was getting the hang of it and was reaching out deeper with the Force. He hummed as he gently moved the ship closer to the ground.

He was finally getting a feel for who it was that he needed to find and guided the ship that way. Finally flying over a small farm that was near a former fortress. But upon landing a few shots were fired at the ship. It startled Joris, but Cin was calm as the bolts stopped flying.

"What does some lap dog of the Republic and Jedi want?" a cantankerous female Zabrak said while holding a rifle up at the ship. Cin narrows his eyes before telling Joris to wait on the ship for the time being. "I'll try to talk her down."

He opened up the back of the ship, with one hand on his lightsaber. No one was there to attack but he was still warry and ready. "Excuse me ma'am. We are not here to hurt you. We simply wanted to ask for your help," the Jedi master said with one hand raised.

The woman narrows her eyes while keeping her rifle trained on Cin. "You Jedi have the Force to guide and strengthen you. What could you need an old, exiled warrior for?" she says with suspicion lacing her voice.

"We have something that we think only you could work with. If you at least promise not to attack the boy, we can show you." Cin says while reaching out to sense if anyone else was nearby.

Cin has to wait a few minutes before she agrees to leave Joris alone. The master nods to the boy and he comes out with the two pieces of Madog steel and the Beskad. Upon seeing the blade, the woman was shocked. "Where did you get that?!" she demands a bit angrily.

"We got it from the planet Tao. A Mandalorian who fell in battle left it. But long ago." Joris says while holding he blade up. The woman seems to believe this and lowers her rifle for the time being. Introducing herself as Moarro Fenn.

She asked them to wait in the barn as she set her rifle down. The two agreed as she led the way. "So, what does it have to do with me? It's not like I could make much with it. At best I could make a gauntlet of beskar armor."

The two Jedi shared a look and Joris brought out the two pieces of metal that the blade seemed drawn to. Fenn hummed at this before feeling the material. "Not beskar, but it's not bad itself. Mixed together right, it could really compliment whatever you wanted to make….. which is why you came to me. I see."

"Well not so much came to you as we were guided to you. And maybe for more than one purpose. I don't know. What I do know is that something told me I could find some answers here." Joris said before admitting his block with his lightsabers.

Fenn nods and says that she couldn't help him with the lightsaber. "But I could maybe make something with the two ingots and the Beskad. Though I'll probably need your help boy. But before that I want to see how you handle something."

The Zabrack sets up some targets before putting on a belt with a pair of pistols on it. She quickly draws and strikes each target dead center. The two look at her funny and question what the point was and what it had to do with Joris's "handling" something.

She then hands the pistols to Joris and tells him to shoot the targets as well. Both Jedi look at her funny before the youngling shrugs and gets a feel for the blasters in his hands. It was blocky and angular, similar to the appearance of the Darksaber hilt.

But Joris could feel the power and some of the weight that the woman likely felt while wielding the weapons. While also noting something odd. He stepped up to the firing line before holding both pistols comfortably by his side. And with a breath he asked her to start the holotargets.

When they did, Joris didn't even need to reach with the Force or let it guide him and he could feel how to shoot properly and quickly to impact the targets. While not perfect bullseyes like Fenn's, Joris had managed to hit every target with decent accuracy on his first try.

"You sure you were raised by the Jedi? You're almost too quick and accurate with something you just picked up." Fenn asks as Joris hands her back the guns. Joris admitting that they did feel comfortable in a strange way.

The two sets of memories swirled again, and the youngling saw that the other life he had experience from was once a special operations soldier. Explaining the comfortable feeling of the guns in his hands.

While Joris was combing through his mixed memories again, Fenn noted that she had a feeling about the boy being somewhat capable. "It almost reminded me of what we warriors go through when we're children. It's a different air compared to the little Jedi."

"I don't know everything, but when he was small, he apparently connected with a life and experiences that were not his. It's given him insights beyond most children his age." Cin notes while wondering if that had something to do with his block as well.

Fenn leaves it at that for now before asking the young Jedi to follow her. When Cin tried to come as well, she pointed her gun at him. She told the master to stay put for the time being. "Normally I'd never reveal how to work beskar. But the boy has intrigued me."

Cin agrees to wait and simply meditates beside her field. Fenn nods before telling Joris to follow her again. She goes to a small door on her house. Barely noticeable and punches in some numbers by the door.

It slides open to reveal a few children inside. Youngest of which looked to be a girl possibly Joris's age. She was a white Lepi with upright ears. Behind her was a young man and woman, possibly 18 years old. The man was a blue skinned Twi'lek who narrowed his eyes at Joris. While the woman was a human with dark hair and eyes that were looking between them all.

"It's alright. Just a….. strange pair that wanted my help with something. Go on out and take care of the nerfs." Fenn says to the children. They slip past while keeping a close eye on Joris. "I'm going to guess foundlings?"

Fenn nods to Joris's question and tell him that they should get to work. She tells Joris to turn around while she takes care of the Beskad. He holds his hands up and gives it to her while waiting for her to finish. It takes a while, but she notes that it was ready.

"Now let's work on these new ones. Bring 'em to the forge." Fenn says and Joris pulls out the two pieces of Madog steel. She whistles at the ingots shimmering in the low light. "I'd ask where you got it, but it's not like I have a ship anymore." Fenn jokes before working to melt the metals to mix into the beskar.

At first the metals seem to clash, but that is when Joris lifts his hands and pours the Force from himself and all around. To get the ingots to all stabilize with each other. With Fenn noting an interesting new pattern to it as it mixed. "Alright. Its still probably more beskar than those other metals. So I'll use my tools to move it as we need it."

Joris nods before the liquid metal is poured out and then hammered into as thin of a sheet as was possible. While that had been happening, the crystal Madog had given Joris was mixed with some durasteel and a small bit of beskar.

When the core was finished and formed, they worked to wrap the very thin piece of metal around the core again and again. For four days they kept working at it and Joris continued to pour the Force in alongside the hammer swings and wraps.

During a break, Fenn questioned why he wasn't more invested in making a lightsaber. "That is the weapon of you Jedi after all. Not that I blame you. It's a damn effective tool for killing and fighting."

Joris clears his throat before admitting that he was struggling because of a block. With Fenn guessing that whoever the memories were of, they probably fought opposite of the way Jedi fought. "So, you need to find a middle ground for it. Too bad you can't make some pistols into lightsabers… or can you?"

As Fenn was saying that, Joris was realizing it as well. He then asked if there was a way to do that. "Maybe. A lot of our equipment has been modified and reformatted over the years. So why couldn't a pair of pistols?!" Fenn says with some excitement at the idea.

But they table it until they finish the sword. Once they had, they left it to cool and settle while they worked with a different set of Westar-35 blaster pistols and some other pistols that Fenn had stored under her home. While Joris took apart his lightsabers to find a way to incorporate both.

It took a few hours, but they eventually made headway. Joris even finding a way to use the innate power of the kyber crystals and lightsaber fundamentals to maintain power for long periods and not need to be reloaded or cooled.

Fenn meanwhile adjusted the blade emitters to shift between a standard round saber and a broadsaber format. As well as adding sections to the barrels for specific purposes. One to increase accuracy, the other to boost stopping power. While the grips of the pistols could rotate back slightly. Giving the form of the hilt something closer to that of a curved-hilt lightsaber.

"They look pretty good. And we've tested most of the parts. All that's left. If for you to test 'em." Fenn said while working on a scabbard for the sword. Joris nodded before taking the two pistolsabers in hand.

Right as his hands gripped the pieces, the weight felt comfortable. He then swung his hands to point the weapons to imaginary targets and could feel how easy it was in his hands. He then switched his grasp a bit and the grips shifted. And then two orange blades erupted from the barrels turned beam emitters.

And for the first time since he got his crystals, it felt right in his hands. Practicing the basics of forms 1 and 6 with greater flow and clarity compared to the previous blades. Even properly throwing one and then both of his sabers. Without having to dodge because the blades were coming to his hands.

Joris smiled before shifting the grips back to normal and the beams retracting. "It's been a long time coming. But I'm glad I finished them." Joris says with relief and fulfillment in his voice. Especially when he holsters them at his sides.

Fenn claps before handing him the sword. "I added a little flourish with it." Joris raised an eyebrow while looking over the blade again. The blade had a similar sort of shimmer and waves to it that pure beskar would have. But the lines on the silvery blade where in a kind of swirl shape. And the swapped between blue and white.

It was a bit too long for him now, but while channeling the Force into the blade Joris gained some insight into what the proper length for it would be as he got older. The piece that Fenn added though, was Buurenaar Kal or Storm Blade etched along the blade in Mandalorian.

"Every time I hammered it, I could feel like a storm was roiling in the metal. So it just seemed perfect for the weapon." Fenn commented while Joris got a feel for the weapon. Noting that it also felt comfortable and like an extension of himself. He even drew one of his pistolsabers, to faux fire shots and then use the blaster and sword in tandem.

Fenn clapped after Joris performed a Hawk-bat swoop before shifting his saber to pistol form again and holstered it. He then sheathed the sword and thanked Fenn with a bow and then a handshake. He now had the weapons and tools the Force pointed him towards.

I know this probably seems all over the place, but I did have a plan going forward. I could see it as a problem if a soldier gets told to suddenly fight like a samurai. While teaching a person who has only used a blade to try ranged combat is easier. While the beskar and Madog steel sword was more me wanting to make a Force-imbued sword.
