A-Ji stays...
Chang Yi meets...
Chapter 10 - Unexpected surprise
Chang Yi is careful not to hit her with his tail as he starts to turn around as she uses magic to get off him at the same time as the young woman makes quick seals with her hands, creating a large magic matrix with three layers that thrusts itself between them and the enemy, with the tentacles slamming into the barrier which breaks on impact, causing the limbs to ricochet back towards their owner.
Then, the jiaoren finishes turning to face the newcomer and extends one of his fins to catch A-ji who was thrown back when his matrix was shattered by the impact while the human felt that he used a new magic on her as soon as your back touched his flipper.
'Are you alright?' the prince's voice is steeped in concern.
"Yes. As a demon master, we possess strength, stamina and speed above ordinary humans. I'm glad the three-layer barrier took the first hit. I felt you used another magic on me."
"It's a temporary spell to understand my people's language because she won't speak their language unlike me."
"Thank you big tail fish."
"Available. Thank you for the previous triple barrier. Now step aside.
The princess nods and walks away, staring fearfully at the newly arrived sea monster as she worried about Chang Yi because the enemy was a squid. In terms of size, it was smaller than him, but there was the aspect of the number of tentacles and the ability to generate a black liquid to make it difficult for the enemy to attack according to what he read about squids.
The young woman notices that some tentacles advance against her only to be countered by the newt's powerful tail that generates a strong current, dragging the squid away, with the squid returning then, whipping its tentacles frantically to demonstrate its fury.
"What do you think you are doing?" he asks in the authoritative baritone voice that sounded like thunder ripping through the heavens.
"I'm trying to kill this human. What else would it be, Taizi (Crown Prince)?" the voice that sounded was muddy and remarkably feminine, evidencing the fact that she was a mermaid, as well as speaking in the language of his people as the prince foresaw.
"What does a squid tribe do there? It's far from where you usually hang out."
"I was just passing through when I saw this human. How dare you bring such an ordinary creature into our environment? They are vile and undignified creatures, as well as treacherous because they are born liars."
"You should mind your own business. Who I bring is my business and I will bear any responsibility for my actions. Who do you think you are?" he asks between guttural and equally threatening snarls, the tip of his tail twitching in a sign of anger and annoyance, then his ice blue eyes cast a freezing coldness towards the newcomer.
"In fact, I have no authority and I am just a commoner, Taizi. But, we are in the ocean. It is our domain and not that of humans. If this race enters our territory, they are taking the risks of becoming prey. I confess that I also feel like trying human meat again. Did you know it's more tender than shellfish?"
A-Ji feels a shiver of fear at the mermaid's words while breaking out in a cold sweat. The thought of turning into a meal was terrifying.
"Leave and you won't be hurt. Stay and you'll face the consequences."
She chuckles lightly, the water churning a bit, then snorts, "You may be Taizi. But I have the right to attack you if it's a dispute over food, territory or if you do something that might become a threat to the ocean as long as it is outside the royal palace. After all, it is still not the Zhushang (Lord or lord as well as supreme ruler or emperor in classical Chinese)."
"You got your warning. Don't complain later." he speaks with fury in his voice.
The princess watched the scene in a mixture of fascination and terror as she thought about the fact that she was going to watch a battle of giant monsters because she had only read about it in the reports of some sailors in the royal library. The young woman never imagined, not even in her most surreal dreams, that she would personally see two huge demons fighting each other in the best style of battle between giant monsters.
She decides to move a little further away so as not to be accidentally hit during the shock between the demons and, as a precaution, she casts triple shields. If she was hit, maybe she could survive despite knowing that in the water, the underwater demons became more powerful and the jiaoren stood out among the underwater species because of their power due to the fact that they were born from the spirit of the ocean according to what he read in some scrolls, thus making them the most powerful within this class of demons as they represent the power of the sea.
Out of the corner of his eye, the prince notices that the human uses triple shields after casting them, causing him to be relieved, with him deciding to increase the protection because of the power of his species within the ocean.
A-Ji sees a bluish shield appear in front of her and then, it becomes transparent, with this one being of demonic origin.
The young woman looks at Chang Yi who nods, making the princess smile gratefully as she flashes a grateful look.
Then, the demon squid launches its tentacles at the crown prince, with the demon master seeing him deftly dodge the attack despite his immense body as he unleashes another tail, generating violent waves that attack the mermaid who wraps her tentacles around herself to try to defend herself precariously because it was visible that she was being dragged slightly even using two tentacles to cling to a giant rock in the kind of valley of rocks in that area. Also visible were cuts and abrasions from the cutting waves.
The newt lashes its tail relentlessly, eventually making the squid break loose.
But, to the young woman's surprise, the strong tentacles pull out pieces of rocks to throw consecutively at the shark, which is forced to break everyone with its powerful tail, with the princess agreeing that his tail was powerful.
However, throwing rocks was just a strategy because the enemy uses the other tentacles to give momentum and using its lateral membranes to swim, it advances against the shark, spraying a jet of black ink that surrounds it while its tentacles enveloped it, keeping the trapped shark even as it turned to expose its deadly mouth, strong enough to crush other demons' bones as it swooped in to bite him.
"Big tail fish!" A-ji exclaims desperately.
Then, she concentrates her powers and makes golden symbols appear in a matrix in the same color that surrounds the squid that observes the young woman making frantic movements of seals with her hands while she concentrated her spiritual power.
However, before the young woman launches her attack, the merman bites one of the enemy's tentacles, eliciting a cry of pain from the mermaid while his tail moves furiously, with him using the edges to cut part of his opponent's skin, to then violently turn its powerful jaws to the side, tearing off one of the tentacles by tearing it in half to the mermaid's despair.
The act of ripping flesh left A-Ji dumbfounded as he questioned himself when they were going to use their respective demonic magic because they were using it at the minimum level as it was in the case of Chang Yi who used it in his tail movements.
Taking advantage of the distance of the squid whose mouth had been close to his neck moments before, he turns his powerful jaws towards his enemy and violently bites another tentacle, causing another scream of agony from the demon, to then brutally tear it apart.
In her desperation, the mermaid makes a wave made of land appear against the shark whose eyes glow slightly, causing sharp spears of ice to appear around him, with him uniting them into an immense sword that spins in the water and cuts the wave of land in the middle half while the ice of the sword expanded violently, throwing the volume of earth to the sides at the same time that it again showed its mastery in clashes to a disconcerted squid that felt excruciating pain due to the loss of two of its tentacles.
Then, the crown prince of the ocean tribes breaks the huge sword into small spears of ice that afflict the demon squid's body, causing it to receive several massive cuts, with A-ji watching dumbfoundedly as the attacks and the blood that pooled around, with the young woman realizing that next to her there was another bluish matrix whose color gradually reddened as it absorbed the blood at the battle site.
She recognized the demonic magic as Chang Yi's and believed that the use of it was to prevent the blood from spreading far away, eventually attracting the attention of other jiaoren by the strong odor of blood spilled into the water.
Still biting the tentacle while inflicting damage with its sharp teeth, the merman uses its powerful muscles to hurl the enemy away, towards the dark abyss and then executes some vigorous movements with its tail to generate new cutting waves that hit the rock wall, causing gigantic stones to fall in the direction that the mermaid in her true form was thrown, thus causing a drastic change in the appearance of the surroundings and which was initiated during the combat of both.
The princess notes that he practically buried the squid under large chunks of rocks and considering the demon's injuries, it would certainly take her a while to get out of there if she survived the fierce counterattack, with the jiaoren demonstrating that he indeed honored his true form white shark.
After all, in addition to the injuries, the mermaid had lost a large volume of blood.
A-ji notices that Chang Yi has ignored the pieces of one of her tentacles, effectively demonstrating that they don't eat their own kind.
Then, she undoes the matrices and the merman in its true form approaches her, with the young woman stoically avoiding looking at the pieces of meat trapped between the sharp teeth while confessing that despite the blood, she found the battle between giant monsters fascinating and equally exciting.
The jiaoren lowers his snout and the young woman climbs onto him again, petting him as she speaks, "You're amazing. But, you won't have any problems with what you did? You cut off two of her tentacles. In fact, you didn't cut them off, you tore them up " with their sharp teeth."
"No. In any situation and even in a battle, regardless of the enemy, we must bear the consequences ourselves. That is the rule. She was wrong to pick a fight with whom she was not fit to fight. After all, she was inferior in many ways. I didn't even warm up properly. Honestly, I should have ended it sooner. But I thought it would at least prove a challenge. It was disappointing."
A-Ji decides to keep to himself that he found the fight exciting because he saw a giant monster battle.
After all, how many humans had the chance to witness a battle of this level? Even though he said the squid was inferior and it wasn't a good challenge, from a human's point of view it was an exciting spectacle.
The princess strokes him again until she notices the merman looking in the direction the enemy threw, with her noticing his tension.
"Big tail fish? What—?"
