Happy Birthday James

Summary: Harry, Lily, Remus, and Sirius celebrate James's birthday.

Harry traced the lines of his father's face with a pencil and glanced at the photo he was copying to draw his eyes. It was late, almost midnight on March the twenty-second. Luckily it was a Saturday and Harry could sleep in tomorrow. The candlelight in the room flickered and the lamp dimmed, making Harry look up.

He was in his mother's quarters, spending the night as they would be flooing to London in the morning to shop for James's birthday. Lily's schedule had been so busy that she hadn't the time to go shopping. Harry had looked when they went to Hogsmeade last weekend, but everything he had found was either something James had already or wouldn't have.

Harry always said that his Dad was the hardest person to buy for. He struggled on Father's Day, Christmas he had some help from Lily and this time, even she was drawing a blank on what to get James.

It wasn't until an idea came to Harry when she was looking at the drawing he did for Lily for her birthday back in January. He had come across a picture of him and James when he was six. They were riding on a broomstick in the backyard. Harry looked at the picture more closely and realized that Lily had taken it on the day they moved into the house in Potter's Bar.

Growing up, Harry thought it was funny living in a town that shared his name. But Lily had found the quaint little town when she was coming back from her grandparents' house in Hertfordshire, years ago. She had thought it was a perfect place to raise a family. When James decided to move somewhere more out in the country, Lily suggested Potter's Bar. They fell in love with the town and the house just outside the town's city limits.

Now it was home.

Harry had started on drawing his six-year-old self and he heard a shuffling from the hall. He looked up towards the door just as Lily had appeared.

"Harry, it's late. What are you doing up?"

"I couldn't sleep," Harry answered. He sat the pencil down beside the drawing pad had gotten up to go to bed when Lily stopped him.

"Harry, are you drawing this?" Lily asked, picking up the picture of a much younger Harry and a much younger James on a broomstick.

"Yeah, I thought it would be part of what I get Dad for his birthday."

Lily returned the photo to its resting place and turned to her son. Harry took off his glasses as he sat down on the side of his bed. He laid back in bed as Lily pulled the duvet up over top of him, tucking him into bed.

"I know you're too old for me to tuck you in."

"Who said I was," Harry retorted.

Lily leaned over and kissed his son's forehead. The minute Harry's head hit the pillow he was asleep.

"Good night, sweetheart. I love you."

Lily quietly left the room and headed back to her bedroom. She smiled as she thought that tomorrow they would be preparing for her beloved husband's birthday. While she had the joy of being the oldest, at least by a couple of months, she allowed James to tackle the male roles in the household. He was the head of their house as her own father was in theirs. Of course, it was that way in James's family, but since he had been a long-awaited child, James was a little on the spoiled side.

Luckily, Harry was one of those kids who you couldn't spoil, no matter how hard you tried.

She thought back to birthdays past. For James's first birthday with her as boyfriend and girlfriend, Lily had given James a watch she had bought while on Christmas break. It was more casual than the one his parents had given him and he wore the one Lily gave him the most since it was so casual.

For the first birthday as a married couple, Lily had made James's favorite meal, Chicken Pot Pie with a side of roasted potatoes.

She made it for him every year on his birthday and when the mood struck.

Then the birthday after Harry was born, Lily would continue making James's favorite meal and getting him presents. She had given him a framed picture of him and Harry for the birthday after Harry was born. She had thought once about getting him a number one dad mug but had saved it for Father's Day.

Every year for James's birthday when Harry got older, they would make James's favorite breakfast: full English breakfast personalized with his favorites. Basically everything, but the black pudding and baked beans, which James didn't like.

Presents ranged from Auror books, anything Quidditch related, and anything from his favorite Quidditch team, and clothes.

Like Father's Day, Lily had picked out and bought Harry's present until he was old enough to pick it out himself. Now, Harry picked out the present himself and paid for it on his own. Sometimes, Harry bought James's present early and hide it in his room in Lily's quarters.

Since Lily had decided to go to London and let Harry go with her, she had been looking forward to the day out with her son. Harry hadn't had the time to spend with Lily for the last few weeks between Quidditch, homework, and Ginny, he had been busy. She was looking forward to spending some one on one time with her son.

Lily was grateful for the relationship she had with Harry. They had a good one and it was hard to tell which parent, he was the closest to. There were a lot of times that Harry had come to her to ask her advice, a lot of it pertaining to Ginny.

There were times when Harry would be alone with Lily and they had a lot of great talks. Lily wanted a relationship with Harry where he would feel comfortable coming to her about anything. Granted, if it was male related, he would go to James first. Then, if he needed to he would come to her.

She smiled as she thought of the day they would have tomorrow, and she went to sleep.

Lily looked around Quality Quidditch Supplies while Harry browsed through the Appleby Arrows merchandise, looking for something to get for James. She had looked into getting a set of Appleby Arrows robes personalized with James's old number on the Quidditch team back when he played at Hogwarts and his last name.

"Harry?" Lily called, not knowing where he son went. She looked around for her son and found him looking at the robes she had been thinking of getting James. "I see we both have the same idea."

"Getting Dad a set of Appleby Arrows robes?" Harry inquired. They looked at the pale blue robes, emblazoned with a silver arrow, which was the Appleby Arrows color and the style of the robes.

"Yes. We could go in on it together," Lily suggested.

"Alright, what size should we get?" Harry inquired. Lily looked through the rack and found the size James would need. She took the robes to the counter and asked for personalization with Potter and the number 7 on the back of the top of the robes.

It was a quintessence that Harry and James had the same jersey number.

After arranging for owl delivery when the robes were ready, Harry and Lily left Diagon Alley for Muggle London. Lily had flooed home one afternoon when James was home to get a really good look at his side of the closet. Some of James's trousers could be replaced and he could use a few new shirts.

"Where to now Mum?" Harry asked as they stood in the alley in front of the entrance to Diagon Alley.

"Let's head to Oxford Street and we'll see what we could come up with."

Harry took a hold of Lily, bracing himself to the apparition. With a crack, they appeared in an Alley near Oxford Street.

"You think I would get used to this," Harry muttered, as he tried to get himself under control.

"I know."

Together, Lily and Harry headed to the shopping street. The only thing Harry needed to find was a frame for the picture he was drawing for James.

"What are you looking for?" Lily asked as she approached a department store.

"A frame for the drawing I'm working on," Harry replied. He stepped in front of Lily and opened the door for his mother.

"Thank you, Harry. I knew I taught you right."

"You drilled it in my head is more like it," Harry said softly to himself.

He followed Lily around the store as she looked at trousers, shirts, pajama sets, and a new dressing gown.

"What's the point in buying Dad that if he doesn't wear it?" Harry asked Lily as she looked at the dressing gown she had selected.

"He'll wear it even if I have to make him," Lily replied and headed towards the display of slippers. She turned to Harry. "Oh, while we're here, pick out a pajama set. You could use one with short sleeves."

Harry nodded, knowing she was right. His old pajama set he had worn before the weather got cold was old and worn from use. The pants still looked good while the shirt was more worn and faded. He picked out one that had checked pants and a navy blue shirt.

Lily came behind him and looked at his selection. "Okay. Here, hold this." She handed Harry the slippers she selected for James. Lily rearranged the pajama set for James and then the dressing gown and took the slippers when Harry handed them to her.

"Can you carry the rest?" Lily asked, pointing to the trousers and shirts she had been carrying around.

"Sure." He followed Lily towards the tally. As they stood in line, he asked his mother, "Mum, does Dad need all of this?"

Lily turned to her son. "The shirts and trousers are for work, sweetheart. He could have used some new work clothes and what I got him for Christmas was more winter weight. This," She motioned the selection of trousers and shirts. "Are more for spring weather."

"Okay." James wore Muggle clothes under his robes to work. Since his promotion to Deputy Head, James dressed more professionally on Mondays, the days he usually had meetings and the days he was in Wizengamot sessions.

After Lily paid for the clothes she got for James, she and Harry headed out to Oxford Street.

"Let's go and see what else we can find, shall we?"

Harry followed his mother from store to store as she looked for things to get for James and Harry looked for a frame for his drawing.

It was going to be a long day.

OoOoOoOoOoOoO

Harry returned to Gryffindor tower, exhausted and wanted nothing more but to collapse on his bed in the sixth year's dorm and go to sleep.

He realized that Hermione would be changing the password for Gryffindor tower today and he needed to find her or another Gryffindor to find out what the password was. He found Hermione on rounds at the further end of the corridor. Not wanting to walk all the way toward her, he called, "Oi Hermione!"

"What?"

"What's the password?" he called back.

Hermione sighed and wrote it down on a piece of parchment. She folded it into a paper airplane and floated it towards Harry. He caught it, thanks to his seeker skills.

"Thanks, Hermione."

"You're lucky I like you."

Harry pretended to pout. "You wound me, Hermione."

"Just go, Harry," Hermione said, sounding like her patience was being tested. Harry concluded she was on her time of the month.

Unfolding the paper, he shook his head. "Really Hermione."

He walked the long way to Gryffindor tower, wondering if Ginny was there. He missed her today and wanted to spend some time with her.

"Tempus Vernum," Harry told the Fat Lady. It was Latin for springtime.

He entered the common room and headed directly to the couch that Ginny was curled up on. She was reading a book and didn't notice her boyfriend until he had fallen on the couch beside her. She looked up when she felt someone laid their head on her shoulder.

"Hey Babe," she greeted.

"Hey Sweetie," Harry returned.

Ginny closed her book and turned to her boyfriend. "How was shopping?"

"Exhausting," Harry replied. He took off his shoes and then his socks, letting his feet break and wiggling his toes to stretch them out. "But we got Dad's presents bought."

"Did you find a frame?" Ginny asked.

"Yeah. After going to six different stores, I found one."

Ginny looked at her boyfriend for a second and then she uncurled herself, sitting down on the couch with her feet on the floor. She patted her lap and waited as Harry laid his feet in her lap. Ginny often massaged Harry's feet after Quidditch practice or on the days when Harry spent most of it walking from class to class. He returned the favor after her busy days,

"Other than the drawing, what else are you getting James?" Ginny asked as she started to massage Harry left foot.

"I owl ordered a book I heard Dad mentioning that he would like to have. It's the book about the greatest Aurors in the twentieth century. It's the newest addition and it's supposed to be in tomorrow."

Ginny smiled to herself when she heard Harry purr when started to dig into the fleshy part of his foot.

"I figured you were getting James that prank book?" She asked.

"I'm saving it for Father's day."

The young couple sat in silence for a little while. They stayed on the couch until Harry was struggling to keep his eyes open.

"Sweetie," Ginny whispered, patting Harry's arm. "Go to bed, Harry. You look tired."

"I think I will." Harry got up from the couch and leaned over and kissed Ginny good night. "Good night, Gin."

"Good night, Harry. I love you."

"I love you too."

Harry headed up to the boys' dorm after collecting his socks and shoes. He was the only one in the dorm when he entered, so he sat his shoes down beside his bed, tossed his socks in his hamper and headed to the bathroom where he washed his face, brushed his teeth, and quickly relieved himself and washed his hands before he headed to bed.

Feeling too tired to find pajamas Harry stripped his clothes off down to his boxers and collapsed into bed, snuggling under the covers.

He was asleep in a matter of minutes.

OoOoOoOoOoOoO

James flooed to Hogwarts Wednesday evening to be at Hogwarts for his birthday. He was there was for work reasons, but it was a bonus that he was going to be there for his birthday and with his wife, son, and best friend. He started by looking around Lily's quarters to see if he could find his birthday presents. Lily must have hidden them well because he couldn't find them.

He headed down to the Great Hall as it was approaching time for dinner. On the way, he met up with his best friend, who was a brother in everything but blood.

"Padfoot," James called.

Sirius turned around at the voice and smiled. "Prongs, old man, it's good to see you."

They hugged in that manly way, patting each other on the back. This was how they have greeted each other since they were teenagers. The funny part for Sirius and James was Harry and Ron does the same thing when they hadn't seen each other in a while.

They walked together to the Great Hall, discussing the plans they had for the seventh years who were planning on becoming Aurors after Hogwarts.

"I'm not even going to mention that Harry has the highest time in completing the obstacle course."

Sirius chuckled. "I still can't believe he beat your time."

James smiled as he thought of how proud he was of his son. Anytime anyone said to him, "you must be so proud of your son," he would smile and tilt his head to the side and reply "more than words can say."

"I know, he even beat yours," James chuckled, remembering Sirius's face when he found out that Harry had beaten his time.

"He'll have an upper hand when it's his turn next year, wouldn't he?" Sirius stated.

"I don't want to think about that right now. In my mind, Harry is still that little boy who would run to greet me when I came home." James paused for a second to let himself come to reality. "I must have blinked. Harry will be of age this summer. If it wasn't for the fact that he told Lily he would wait until he was eighteen to move out, Lily would be crying now."

Sirius nodded, knowing what James was meaning. Harry had grown up too fast before their eyes.

They turned the corner and saw a familiar sandy headed man halfway down the corridor.

"Moony!" the two men called.

Remus turned around and found his two best friends coming toward him. "Hello James, good to see you."

"Nice to see you too. I'm assuming that Lily is having dinner in the Great Hall."

"I think so, she said she was when I spoke to her earlier," Remus confirmed.

The three men headed down to the Great Hall. Professor Dumbledore nodded in greeting and Professor McGonagall watched them as they headed to their usual seats.

Lily entered the Great Hall, walking straight to her husband and kissed him greeting. When they broke apart a minute later, Lily cupped James's face with her hands.

"What is my rule for sitting up here with me?" she asked.

"Behave or I will be sitting with Harry," James replied.

Lily smiled and patted his head and sat down in her chair. "How was your day?" Lily inquired, to start a conversation.

James told her about his day filling out paperwork and working ahead so he could take off to Hogwarts. He had also taken Saturday off, planning on spending the day with Lily and Harry.

"I'm looking forward to tomorrow for my breakfast," James whispered to Lily.

"I think you'll like the grapefruit I got you." Lily watched as James's face dropped.

"You what?"

Lily looked at her husband for the longest time before she burst into laughter.

James looked at Sirius and Remus, who shrugged and then back to his wife.

"I'm kidding James. I know what you want for breakfast and I'll even serve it in bed for you if you want."

"Oh good."

Harry entered the Great Hall with Ginny right after dinner had begun. He caught his mother's gaze and she crooked her finger in a 'come here' gesture.

The raven-headed teen sighed inwardly and walked to his mother. "Hey Dad," Harry greeted his father.

"Hi Son, where were you and Ginny before dinner?" he asked, with a smirk. Harry's hair was messier than normal and his face was flushed. If James didn't know any better Harry and Ginny were snogging somewhere.

"Library," Harry answered, hoping his parents believed him.

Lily accepted it, while James was unsure.

"Are you staying in my quarters tonight or are you staying in the dorm?" Lily asked her son.

Harry thought for a moment and said, "Staying in the dorm, but I'll be there for breakfast." He turned to his Dad. "Don't eat all the sausage before I get there."

He left to head back to the Gryffindor table and sat next to Ginny.

James smiled as he watched his son and his girlfriend, sit across from each other and talk, eat, and laugh at whatever the other one said.

It then hit James that while Harry got older, so did he.

OoOoOoOoOoOoO

Harry walked down to his mother's quarters early Thursday morning. He didn't bother changing clothes, just slipped on a pair of shoes and his hoodie and headed down to Lily's quarters for breakfast. While James's breakfast choice was full English breakfast, personalized with his favorites, Harry preferred pancakes or waffles with sausage and bacon.

He had planned on making chocolate chip scones at some point today that would be eaten with tea.

As he approached his mother's quarters, he reviewed in his head what he had gotten James for his birthday. He had the drawing of James and Harry from when Harry was little and had put it in a frame. Then there was the book, Harry had owl orders The Greatest Aurors in the Twentieth Century. The last thing Harry got James was an assortment of James's favorite candy from Honeydukes. He had 'borrowed' the catalog from Sirius and ordered the candy for James and some extra dark chocolate bars for Ginny. He threw in the truffles for Lily in hopes that she doesn't get to mad at him for getting James candy.

Upon reaching Helga the nurse, Harry muttered the password and headed into his mother's sitting room.

Lily was awake and in the kitchenette, making breakfast. She turned around when the portrait hole opened and saw Harry come in.

"Good morning, sweetheart," Lily greeted. "Did you sleep okay?"

"Yeah," Harry answered, stifling a yawn. "Just took me a while to fall asleep."

Lily took a closer look at her son. Harry looked tired to her, but there weren't any dark circles under his eyes. She flicked her wand at the food to finish cooking, and she collected a cup of tea and brought to the table and set it down in front of Harry.

"Thanks, Mum," Harry murmured.

"You're welcome." Lily started to fix plates of food, starting with James's first. Setting it to the side on the counter, she turned to Harry. "Let's go and see if Dad's awake."

Harry got up from the chair he had sat down in and followed Lily into her bedroom. James was still asleep, his back to Harry and Lily.

Lily approached the bed slowly and walked around to James's side of the bed. She approached the side and leaned over her husband.

"James, honey, it's time to wake up."

James grunted in reply and turned over to face Harry. Lily and Harry shared a look for a second and then Lily nodded. Harry, who had taken his shoes off upon entering Lily's quarters, climbed onto the bed and crawled over towards James.

"Dad?" Harry poked James's shoulder.

Suddenly James shot up and caught Harry by surprise, dragging him under and started tickling his son.

Harry's laughter filled the room. "Dad, stop," Harry breathed, then he shouted, "Uncle."

James stopped, grinning down at his son. "How long has it been since I did a tickle attack?"

"Long enough," Harry panted.

"Okay, you two, breakfast is ready," Lily interrupted to prevent another tickle attack from occurring.

James got up from the bed and walked around towards his wife.

"Good morning, Lily-Flower."

They kissed each other in greeting. "Good morning, Birthday boy. Happy Birthday."

"Thank you, Flower."

James turned towards his son. He smiled as he noticed that Harry was almost as tall as he was, almost.

He wrapped an arm around Harry's shoulder. Harry said, "Happy birthday, Dad."

"Thanks, Son."

The two Potter men headed into the kitchenette and dining area, finding that Lily had served breakfast while waiting for them. James sat down in his usual place and smiled at his full plate.

"Want some mushrooms, Harry?" James asked, teasing.

"No, thanks," Harry hastily replied.

Lily sat down with her breakfast and the three Potters started eating their breakfast. They discussed the plans for the day and what they had planned on doing. James listened as his wife review the day's plans. Remus and Sirius had a few classes that day, but would there for dinner that night.

"Since you don't have class today, Harry, what are your plans?" Lily asked.

"Ginny doesn't have class until Potions, this afternoon. She asked me to help her with her defense essay. So I'm meeting her in the library and then I'll spend the afternoon with Dad."

James smiled at that idea. He would have the afternoon free as he was working with the seventh years that morning.

"That sounds fine to me. Is the pitch free?" James inquired.

"I checked with Madam Hooch and she said that it was free. In case, I booked it. Though, I think she knew why."

Lily smiled as she watched her boys talk and bond. She had feared that Harry wouldn't have a good relationship with James. But like her relationship with Harry, he and James were really close.

Once breakfast was over, the Potters got ready for the day and once they were showered, dressed, and ready, they headed down to the Great Hall.

Harry headed to the Gryffindor table, while James and Lily headed to the head table. Sirius smiled as James approached. He looked like the cat that caught the canary.

James sighed. Sirius did this every year, no matter how much they begged him to stop. For some reason, Harry was passed upon the serenade.

"Happy birthday James," Remus greeted as James sat down.

"Thank you."

As other wished him a happy birthday, James glanced at Sirius, who looked like he was about to pop if he didn't sing soon. James hated this tradition as much as Lily did. Sirius couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.

"Alright, Padfoot, get it over with," James sighed.

Sirius cleared his throat and began,

"Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday, dear James!

Happy Birthday to you!"

Those who were in the Great Hall applauded and Lily noticed that Harry had tried to keep from laughing, failing miserably.

"Happy now, Sirius," James muttered as Sirius passed him.

"Very."

James turned to Lily, who was deep in conversation with Madam Pomfrey. He sometimes wanted to pinch himself to make sure he wasn't dreaming. He knew he would marry Lily Evans one day, but no one could have guessed the life they had lived thus far.

He looked at his friends, Remus, and Sirius, grateful to still have them both in his life.

Looking down the Gryffindor table, he found his son, talking to Ginny and smiling at her as she talked animatedly about something. How did he get lucky with a son like Harry? He didn't know.

As he got up to follow Sirius to the Defense classroom where he would first give a lecture about Aurors in Sirius's second-year class, he thought of how great his life had turned out.

He also was looking forward to spending some time with his son and later to Lily's Chicken Pot Pie.

OoOoOoOoOoOoO

That evening, James, Lily, Harry, Sirius, and Remus were gathered to celebrate James's birthday. To Lily, this one was special as James had been involved in a serious accident last fall. James's recovery and the speed was miraculous. Seeing him, at the head of the table, smiling and laughing, made her all the more thankful.

"Okay," She said, breaking into the conversation of who was the best prankster. "Time to share our favorite memory with James from the year and I will go first. My favorite memory is Christmas, sitting on the couch watching It's a Wonderful Life. We cuddled together and watched the movie with popcorn and a fire covered the blankets. It's my favorite because it was something I wanted to do for a long time, to sit on the couch together, watch my favorite black and white Christmas movie and just be together."

"Where were you?" Sirius asked Harry.

"I was there too, only I fell asleep halfway through the movie," Harry replied. "Sirius can go next, I need to think on mine."

Sirius smiled. "My favorite memory is when me, you, and Harry went on that road trip last summer, Harry fell asleep in the car and me and you talked. It was nice to have some time just me and you."

"Why do I feel like I was intruding?" Harry asked.

"You weren't," James assured him.

"Alright. My favorite memory is also from the road trip we took last summer. It was burying Sirius in the sand, creaming you in that game we played, that one you kept wanting a rematch on, and then that prank on Sirius."

"Which one?" James asked.

"The shaving cream one," Harry replied.

"Now that was fun." James turned to Sirius. "I can't take credit for the shaving cream." James pointed at Harry. "That was his idea."

Sirius's expression was one of shock, he couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"It wasn't the first one I planned myself," Harry intoned.

"Okay, my turn," Remus interjected. "My favorite memory is when I came to you and ask about how you proposed to Lily and to get advice on asking Dora to marry me. I can't thank you and Lily enough for putting us together."

"You're welcome Moony. Seeing you happy, makes us happy," Lily stated, patting his hand.

"Okay, present time," James announced.

They moved to the sitting room and James sat down in his favorite armchair. Lily handed him one of her presents first.

"These are all from me," Lily informed her husband.

"Geez, Lily. How much stuff did you get me?" James asked, looking at the pile of presents Lily had sat down beside him. He opened the presents and found that he now owned a complete work wardrobe for spring, complete with new slippers, dressing gown, and pajamas. The only thing missing was shoes and boots for him to wear to work.

"Now, this is from Harry and me." Lily handed James the large box. Ripping open the paper he found that this present had come from Quality Quidditch Supplies and opened the box.

"Oh, Lily, Harry, you didn't."

"You've wanted a set of Appleby Arrow robes for a while and now you have a set."

"Thank you, Lily, and thank you, Harry."

"You're welcome, Dad. These are from me." Harry handed James his presents.

Picking the smaller of the two boxes, James ripped into the paper and then opened the box. He paused at the sight of the framed drawing of him and Harry on a broomstick when Harry was six.

"Harry, this is….." James trailed off, the words leaving him. "It's beautiful, you did a good job." He looked up at his son. "How did you know this was my favorite picture?"

Harry looked at Lily and smiled. "A little birdie told me."

James picked up the second box and found the book he had been wanting. "Harry, how did you get this?" He asked.

"I owl ordered it and since it came out on Tuesday, I got it yesterday," Harry explained. "If I had gotten it after today, I was going to save it for Father's Day."

"I'm just glad it wasn't another prank book," Lily stated.

Harry breathed out a sigh of relief. He may not be as lucky on Father's Day, as he had planned on finding the prank book his Dad used to have and give it to him on Father's Day.

Remus was next to hand him his present, which was an assortment of quills and parchment, personalized with From the desk of James Potter on the top.

Sirius had given James a signed copy of a biography of James's favorite player on the Appleby Arrow's.

"Thank you, everyone, for the gifts."

Lily smiled and hugged her husband and kissed him.

"You're welcome."

OoOoOoOoOoOoO

James laid awake that night, watching Lily sleep. He smiled as he thought of their life together thus far. They were happily married, they had a wonderful son together, and they were both where they wanted to be career wise. He got up slowly as not to disturb Lily. He walked quietly into Harry's room, finding his son asleep.

He watched Harry sleep for a little bit before heading back to bed beside Lily. He had a great birthday and had gotten a lot of stuff. Besides the gifts, Lily made him a coupon book just for fun. In it were coupons that were redeemable with Lily and Lily only. It ranged from cooking his favorite meal to a massage, which James decided that he would cash in on when she and Harry are home for Easter.

James smiled as he thought of his life. He was now thirty-seven years old, he was almost to forty. He started to find gray hairs in his black hair and had blamed most of it on Harry.

As James laid back down, he thought back to birthdays past and with those happy thoughts, James fell asleep, dreaming of the future filled with happiness, laughter, and yes, maybe some grandchildren.

With those happy dreams, James settled into a deep sleep.

AN: Okay, I have a question. I was thinking about writing a fic where Harry decides to become an Animagus. My question: what animal should Harry be? Let me know in the reviews or in a PM.

And thank you to those who had given me suggestions on the three other people who Harry could see with the Resurrection Stone. You have given me a couple of ideas. I'm still open to suggestions!
