Injuries & Maladies

Tonks waited only line to grab herself a coffee at her favorite muggle shop near her house. She checked the time. It was still early and she was planning to go see Remus quickly before work. Sunday night had been the full moon and a Remus had probably gotten home an hour or so ago. She figured she wouldn't stay long, and would just check in on him quickly and drop off some hot tea for him.

Tonks swiftly made her way over to Grimauld place. She made sure to be quiet when she came in, making sure not to wake Mrs black.

Tonks managed to put her coat on the stand without knocking anything over. she turned, immediately feeling like something was off, maybe it was her auror senses.

She looked down the hall, and she saw blood on the floor. she blanched.

Fear started to flood into her. "Sirius! Remus!?" She called.

Sirius came into the hall, looking very solemn.

"What's wrong?" She asked immediately.

Sirius walked over to her.

"Look. Everything is going to be okay. But, Remus got hurt last night." Sirius said, holding Tonks arms.

Tonks felt her mouth go dry. "Where is he?" She asked.

"He's in the bathroom down the hall. He's in rough shape, won't let me help him." Sirius said.

Tonks practically ran down the hall to the bathroom. Remus was gray, and shivering. He was curled up against the wall. His side had a horrible injury, she could see that blood had soaked through his shirt. In that moment she could have cried.

She took one of the towels from the rack, bringing it over to him, covering him up.

He turned to look at her. He's breathing was ragged and lips were dry and cracked.

"Dora?" He asked. He seemed kinda confused.

"Wotcher." She said, trying not to cry.

"It's okay." Remus mumbled, trying to soothe her.

Sirius walked in, "padfoot, why would you have her come in here. She's not use to this." Remus groaned.

"I asked to come see you." Tonks explained.

Remus had assumed that Sirius had told her to come in. He just looked at her.

"Please let me help you." She said.

Remus nodded.

Tonks lifted his shirt up and revealed a horrible gash on his side. He winced a little as she cleaned his injury. He turned away from her, clearly in a ton of pain. It killed Tonks.

he looked even worse than before.

Tonks looked down at her hands...they had his blood on them. She felt a hot tear slip down her face.

"Hey, it's okay." Remus tried to comfort her again. He reached out to her and she carefully embraced him.

"This is why I said all those things about us not being together. This isn't fair to you." He whispered to her.

"It's not fair to you." Tonks sniffled.

She sat back up looking at him.

"Dora, please go In the hall, Now." He said forcefully.

Once in the hall, Remus vomited into the toilet.

After Remus laid on the floor, looking horrible.

"The wolf ate something in the cave, it's making me sick." He groaned.

"I'll be right back." Sirius said. quickly leaving.

Remus watched Tonks standing in the doorway, looking concerned. In that moment she reminded Remus of his mother. She spent every full moon up until he went to Hogwarts curled up by the cellar door, sobbing. Her sobs were usually the last thing he remembered before he transitioned, or his own wails. He tried to be strong for her and not cry, but he was always so terrified. he was pretty sure she still did this after he left for school he just didn't see her. he desperately didn't want that for Tonks.

"Remus!" He heard his name being called, this snapped him out of his thoughts.

What?" He said confused.

Tonks looked at him concerned.

From the doorway he heard Sirius speak. "I think he's hallucinating. I wrote to Dumbledore, he will probably be able to help."

Remus was confused...had he said or done something?

"Tonks, you go to work, okay. I'll make sure he's okay." Tonks was extremely reluctant to leave him but eventually Sirius convinced her.

She hugged Remus goodbye.

"I'll be okay Dora." He kissed her temple.

Sirius watched them say goodbye together.

Sirius tried to attend to the wound of Remus' side.

"I didn't know you and Tonks had special names for each other." Sirius said. "You know what that means."

"What?"

"Mate, I think she might be your girlfriend." Sirius chuckled, leaning back against.

Remus glared at him.

"Shut up, padfoot." Remus mumbled.

Remus was transported back to memories of his childhood.

He was curled up on the sofa with his mother, he was sick and she had wrapped him in a blanket.

"Mommy, I'm scared." The small boy said.

The woman held him close.

"I know baby. I know. You rest." She comforted him.

Remus father came over to them.

"It's almost time." The man said solemnly.

The small boy whimpered, burying himself into his mother.

"Remus." He father said softly. "Do you remember what we said would happen tonight?" His father asked.

Remus nodded his small head.

"I'm going to change." He cried.

His father rubbed his back.

"Yeah buddy." He said. "I have to take you downstairs now."

Remus shook his head. Grabbing onto his mother, crying.

"No, I want to stay with mommy." Remus cried.

"I'm so sorry baby." She whispered to him. She picking him up and held on to him tightly.

"Remus I love you so much. You've done nothing wrong baby." She tried to comfort her small son. He had barely recovered from the attack a few weeks before and she was terrified of what would happen.

His mother carried him to the door of the basement. He cried, terrified to be left alone.

"Your brave son. You can do this." his father said, hugging him.

Remus was shaking and his father said he had to go down stairs now.

Remus wanted his mom to come down with him. He didn't want to be alone.

"I'll carry you down sweetie." She said.

She brought him to the area she had set up for him. She had tried so hard to make it decent for him. She laid down some soft blankets and a few pillows for him. she hoped it would bring him some comfort. Besides those items the basement was empty.

"Baby I'm so sorry. Mommy has to go now. I'm so sorry. This isn't your fault baby. I love you so much. I'll be waiting upstairs for you and will come get you as soon as I can in the morning."

"Mommy I don't want to be by myself." Remus sniffled. He tried to be brave for her.

"I know. I love you so much." She said, pulling away from his tiny form.

And then she left. Remus could hear his parents locking the door.

He curled up in the corner with the pillows his mother had left him. He held on to the items, trying to get some sense of security. He was too scared to cry now. He could hear his mother sobbing outside the basement door. She was telling him she loved him. Remus was too frightened to respond to her.

he could barely breathe and it felt like his throat was closing. he looked over, he saw a small sliver of moonlight start flooding through the tiny window of the basement. It crept across the floor. Remus backed into the corner even further, terrified of the light touching him. He hoped that maybe if it couldn't touch him, it couldn't hurt him.

He was wrong. he fell sideways gasping. Something was wrong.

Then he felt the pain. He tried to be brave but he screamed out in agony. It was like he was on fire. His voice sounded weird in his own head, like in a nightmare, when you scream for help but no sound comes out.

He could hear his mothers sobs outside the door, mixing with his own terror.

It felt like it went on forever. eventually the next thing Remus knew he was waking up on the floor. But it was a different house, in a different decade.

"Hey mate." Sirius said.

Remus realized that Dumbledore was standing in the hallway.

"Dumbledore brought a potion for you. Snape says it should help neutralize any toxins you ate."

Sirius handed the potion to him. within a few minutes Remus was sitting up, talking to Sirius.

"Merlin, I feel loads better." Remus said, as Sirius helped him up to his room.

~

Tonks had been worried sick most of the day. Finally she got an owl from Remus. It was just a short letter.

Dora,

I'm okay now. I'm resting. You can come by later if you want.

Remus.

She smiled when she read the letter just after lunch time.

After leaving the ministry, Tonks ran back to her flat quickly and changed into comfortable clothes. She also packed a small bag Incase she spent the night.

She stumbled out of her flat into the street. She ended up getting herself and Remus some tea. She figured by now he'd probably want to drink something at least.

Tonks snuck into Grimauld place, being careful not to wake Mrs black. Sirius looked up from the book he was looking at.

"Hi Tonks." Sirius said.

She came over to sit with him.

"Wotcher Cousin!" She greeted him. "How's Remus?"

Sirius stared at her.

"He's okay, he's upstairs resting." Sirius said.

"Good." She said, sitting down. "Earlier was really scary."

Sirius nodded. "I've seen it happen twice before, but you never really get use to it." He explained. "Once in awhile, the wolf will eat something toxic and it will make him sick. But, Dumbledore brought us a potion, he was sitting up talking to us within a few minutes."

Tonks felt much more relaxed. She sighed.

"I brought him tea." She said hopefully.

"He'll probably be ready to eat or drink pretty soon. That was a good call." Sirius said.

"Can I go up and see him?" She asked.

"I don't know, you're his girlfriend. You tell me." Sirius said.

"I don't know if that's true." She said chuckling.

"Mhmm." Sirius murmured, turning back to his book.

Tonks decided that she was going to go check on Remus.

she sneaked into his room quietly, noticing that he was still asleep. she put his hot tea on the table next to his bed and went into the bathroom to change into pajamas. She wore a cropped light gray soft cotton tank top, with matching flared pants that tapered into a v shape at the top. Exposing more of her tummy.

She could see her the small metal barbells from her nipple piercings poking through her thin cotton top. she smiled, happy she had decided to not wear a bra, and hoping Remus would like them.

Tonks came back out of the bathroom and climbed into bed with Remus. She did some paperwork for awhile. Then she laid close to Remus, holding onto him gently.

He stirred, turning around to see her.

"Wotcher." She said.

"Hi Dora." He held her close.

They ended up drifting off to sleep together, when tonks woke up, she could tell it had gotten dark out.

"Hi." She heard him.

"Hey, your awake." She said happily.

"I had my tea. Thank you." He said.

She hugged him. Remus rubbed her back softly. He could feel the exposed skin of her back. She felt so soft and nice.

"How do you feel?" She asked.

Remus kissed her forehead. "I'm doing a lot better now." He sighed. "I'm sorry you had to see me that sick."

Tonks rubbed his arm. "You don't need to apologize."

She leaned over to find his face, and kissed him. He let her slip her small tongue into his mouth. She smiled a little as they kissed, she was enjoying herself.

She moaned into his mouth softly, wrapping a leg around him. Remus felt himself start to get hard, and he pulled away from her.

Did I hurt you?" she asked. Remus could see her even in the dark. She looked concerned.

"No you were okay." He said.

"Why did we have to stop then?" She asked delicately.

Remus thought about it. In the past he would of just made something up.

"Dora. You would be the first person I'd be with who knew about me." He explained.

Tonks was kinda confused, she didn't under why this was an issue.

"Before and afternoon the full moon I just don't always feel like I can relax, I don't feel like myself. That's why I don't like it."

Tonks rubbed up against him.

She hugged him. "Mmmm, it kinda feels like you like it." She said, she could feel his hardness through his sleep pants.

Remus chuckled. "It's not that I don't like it it just makes me feel uncomfortable." He admitted.

"It's okay." She said, snuggling into him.

Remus rubbed circles on her exposed skin on her back.

"So, what did you do in the past when you were with someone. What did you say?" She asked.

"I mean as a teenager I might have been more inclined to suggest other activities." He chuckled. "But, as an adult I usually just made something up. I probably shouldn't of, but I did."

"But, other activities sound fun." Tonks said,

Remus chuckled at her comment.

"I'm not saying never but I'm saying no for now."

Tonks shifted to sit up a little. "That's okay. I like just being here with you." She explained.

Remus gasped a little bit. He could see her pierced nipples through her shirt.

"What is it?" She asked, not aware that he could see her.

Remus rubbed her side. "Um, nothing."

She paused for a second before she smiled a little bit. "You can see me, can't you?" She asked.

"Ah, yeah." He replied, very thankful she wasn't still pressed up against him. He was rock hard. he tried to adjust himself.

"Ohhh." She said, seeming to understand.

"What am I doing then?" She asked playing with her nipples.

Remus groaned, "Dora, don't- don't do that." He pleaded with her.

She stopped. "Why, do you want to touch them?" She asked, smirking at him.

"Yes." He breathed.

She smiled a little. "You can, if you want."

Remus closed his eyes. He knew he was going to give in to her.

Tonks couldn't see him and wasn't sure how he'd respond.

After a few more seconds went by she felt one of his warm hands touch her stomach.

He softly touched her, moving his hand up her body.

Tonks sighed, it felt so nice to have his warm hands on her body.

Just then, he bolted upright, turning towards the door.

"Remus, what's wrong?" She asked, concerned.

"Something is not right." He said, getting up to go over to the door. He stood next to it for a second like he was trying to listen to something. He opened the door, "Sirius! Is everything okay?" He asked the man in the hall.

"No. Arthur was attacked." Tonks gasped at the news.

"Merlin. What happened." Remus asked. "Is he okay?"

"I don't know anything, can tonks go see if he's okay?" Sirius asked. "He's at St. Mungo's.

Remus turned to tonks.

"I can go." She said.

Tonks got dressed as fast as she could, slightly disappointed that her time with Remus was cut short. But, her fear for the Weasleys quickly overpowered any disappointment that she had felt.

~

Remus was covered in a warm throw blanket on the sofa in the sitting room with a book, and Sirius was gazing into the fire place.

Ginny, Ron, the twins, and Harry had been there all night. Dumbledore had them go through the floo network in his office so that way Umbridge would not find out.

The kids had finally gone to sleep but Sirius had promised to wake them if they heard anything new.

The kids would have to go back soon as to not create any suspicions. they needed to be there to take the train back later that week, or else Umbridge would definitely find out. Of course Sirius was pissed about that fact but tried to hide his irritation.

"Do you think it's bad that we haven't heard anything yet?" Sirius asked.

"I'm not sure." Remus croaked. He was still very weak from his injuries.

"Maybe it's a good thing?" Remus wondered out loud.

"I sure hope so Moony."

Remus nodded in agreement.

"Don't worry, your little girlfriend will be back soon." Sirius said smirking.

"We've been on a single date. I don't think that qualifies her to be my girlfriend." Remus said.

"You have a pet name for her." Sirius said.

"Wait, how do you know that?" Remus asked confused.

"How much do you remember from this morning?" Sirius asked.

"Not that much, I remember when Tonks first got there, and then I remember Dumbledore was there at one point."

"Well, you called her Dora in front of me. And she was the only person you'd let help you. she cried, you comforted her.."

"Wait, she cried?" Remus asked, clearly upset.

Sirius nodded. "A little yeah. Moony, you weren't okay, i haven't seen you that sick after a full moon in 20 years. It was really scary."

Remus groaned. He felt horrible that tonks had to see that.

Just then, tonks tripped through the front door, accidentally waking Mrs Black, causing her to shriek.

Tonks looked over at them, they looked so worried.

"Arthur is okay, he is in rough shape but he should be home by Thursday when the kids get back from Hogwarts." Tonks said, answering their unasked questions.

Remus and Sirius sighed in relief.

"Thank Merlin!" Sirius said. "I'll tell the kids."

Remus just nodded, thankful that Arthur would be alright.

"What happened?" Remus asked.

"It was Nigini." She said.

"That Fucking snake?!?" Sirius asked completely horrified, as he stood up to leave the room,

Tonks nodded solemnly.

"Where the hell was mundungus?" Remus asked.

"I guess he couldn't come or something." Tonks explained, shaking her head.

"And, I realized when I was there that if we hadn't been switched from the department of mysteries, you and I would of been there instead."

Remus sighed heavily.

"No, you would have been alone. I would have too sick to be there." Remus said, clearly upset at the idea. He got up and left the parlor without saying anything else. Tonks wasn't sure if she should follow him.

Sirius watched him as he left, giving Tonks a reassuring smile, before going upstairs to update the kids.

After a few minutes, Tonks decided to follow Remus into the kitchen.

He was sitting at the table, staring

"Remus?" She called to him cautiously.

He turned a little to look at her.

"Hi Dora." He said quietly.

She came over to sit next to him. "Remus, are you okay?" She asked softly.

"If you had gotten hurt because of me..." he started.

"Remus I'm okay, I'm safe. Nothing happened to me. And it certainly wouldn't have been your fault if something had" she said to him.

Remus looked at her.

"You would have been there alone, because I was sick." He argued.

"Remus you were injured, it definitely wouldn't have been your fault." She rubbed his shoulder. "Don't be so hard on yourself." She continued.

"I feel like I endanger everyone around me." He admitted.

"Remus we are all in danger, but it's never because of you." She explained to him.

Tonks got up, making her way to the counter. Remus watched her, she was making something.

"What are you making?" He asked.

"You'll see." She said, smiling at him.

Tonks brought over two cups of hot chocolate for them.

"Thank you." He said, taking it from her.

She gave him a small hug.

He still felt extremely guilty and cursed himself for being sick so much of the time, but hugged her back, kissing her on the cheek.

"I have to go to work soon." She sighed, not wanting to leave him.

He rubbed her back softly, looking at her.

"I'm sorry you didn't really get to sleep last night." He said.

"It's alright, I'll go home and crash later." She explained.

Soon, Tonks had to leave. But, not before reminding Remus to not be too hard on himself.

"You rest. I'll see you in a few days." She said, as she pressed her lips to his cheek.
