The Breakout
"Wait, what? Your sure that's exactly what Harry said?" Remus asked, hoping he had heard his friend wrong.
Remus, Tonks and Sirius were all sitting in the front parlor of Grimauld place. the kids had all just gone back to hogwarts that morning and Sirius was talking with them about what Harry had told him before he left that morning to go back to school.
"He said he saw everything the snake saw. It wasn't like he was next to the snake, he said he was the snake." Sirius said, clearly unsure of what this meant.
"That just doesn't seem right." Tonks said.
"I talked to Dumbledore about it." Sirius said.
"That's what you and Snape fought over earlier?" Remus asked.
"Yeah. Dumbledore wants him to help Harry learn Occlumensy. I have some issues with that." Sirius groans.
Remus sighed heavily.
"I mean, do they think that Voldemort is trying to control his mind?" Remus asked.
"Snape and Dumbledore say no. But, They think that there is a connection between them. They don't know if Voldemort knows, but
They say he can't find out." Sirius explained.
Remus and Tonks nodded. They all knew that but it still didn't make them feel much better about it.
If Sirius was honest, he didn't want that guy anywhere near Harry but knew deep down he was the only one who could probably help.
The three talked together for awhile longer, but eventually Tonks announced that she was going to go back home.

The next morning Remus woke up early, and as he made his way downstairs to the kitchen he noticed that tonks's shoes were in the hall.
When he entered the kitchen, Sirius, Mad eye, Ashlee, and tonks were sitting together at the table. they all looked extremely concerned.
Remus knew immediately that something terrible had happened.
"What's wrong?" He asked, scanning their faces.
"10 high security prisoners escaped from Azkaban last night. Bellatrix among them. We believe it was the work of Voldemort, but the ministry is already trying to blame Sirius." Moody grumbled.
Remus barely knew what to say. Now, his best friend was being falsely accused of another crime that he did not commit, and The entire extended black family would probably be in danger, including Tonks and Sirius.
"Shit." Remus thought. This was bad.
He looked down at the table, a copy of the prophet lay open. The headline naturally blamed Sirius for the escape.
Remus sat down, and sighed heavily.
He looked over at Tonks who looked really worried.
"I have to go check on my mom." Tonks said, getting up.
"Woah lass, you can't leave right now. Dumbledore's orders. He wants you and Sirius to stay inside for now at least. I'll go make sure everything is okay at your moms." Mad eye grumbled.
Tonks looked mad at this statement. But agreed with Mad Eye.
Eventually, the older auror left. Taking Ashlee with him. Leaving the three friends alone in the kitchen together.
"Well, looks like I'm on house arrest." Tonks said, dryly.
Remus and Sirius chuckled.
"Welcome to my life." Sirius teased.
Tonks rolled her eyes at him.
"So much for going out tonight." Tonks said, looking at Remus.
Remus gave her a small smile.
"I suppose we will have to make do here." Remus said, optimistically.
They had planned on going on a date that night, but clearly they were going to have to change their plans.
Sirius eyed his friends, he was happy for them.
A little while later, tonks, Sirius and Remus were in the sitting room upstairs together. Tonks was looking out one of the windows, Remus watched her, wondering what it was that she was thinking about.
Sirius and Remus were playing chess to try and pass the time.
"Checkmate." Remus said, sitting back in his chair.
Sirius groaned, before Remus got up and went to see Tonks. She had been looking out the window for awhile.
"Hey" Remus said, coming over to her.
"Wotcher, Remus." Tonks said. She seemed kinda distracted.
"You alright?" Remus asked.
Tonks sighed heavily, before looking at him.
"Kinda worried about mom and dad." She explained.
Remus nodded. He certainly understood why she might feel this way.
Andromeda has married a muggle born. After that she had been ostracized by most of the black family, except for Sirius.
Bellatrix particular hated her sister, and now that she was freed no one knew if she would target her extended family or not.
"Because of Bellatrix?" Remus asked, gently
Tonks nodded, leaning her head onto his shoulder.
"Mad eye will make sure that someone is keeping watch of their house. But I'd rather see they are safe for myself." Tonks said.
Remus hugged her. "I know." He whispered to her.
He felt terrible for her and Sirius. He just wished that there was something that he could do to help.
~
Remus settled into his bed that night, feeling very worried about what the future would hold, now that more death eaters had escaped from Azkaban. As he stared at the ceiling He silently wondered what this would mean for the Order. Everything had certainly escalated quickly. Undoubtedly, they were all in much more danger now.
Across the hall, Tonks also laid awake, worrying about her family. All Tonks knew was that as long as Bellatrix was alive, no one in her family was safe. Tonks tossed and turned for awhile before finally being able to fall asleep. Suddenly, tonks was transported to a different place. she looked around, she wasn't alone, her parents lay on the ground, cold and unmoving. They were dead.
The next thing she knew, she was back in her room at headquarters. She realized that Remus was next to her, talking to her.
"Are you okay?!?" Remus sputtered.
Tonks sat upright, realizing that she had been dreaming before.
"Dora, are you okay?" He asked again. "What happened?" He continued.
"I- I'm not sure." Tonks said. She didn't want to talk about what she saw.
"You screamed." Remus said, sounding really concerned.
"Oh." She said. Not sure what to say next.
Remus walked over to sit next to her, on the edge of the bed.
Neither of them said anything for several more seconds.
"What's on your mind?" Remus asked.
Tonks groaned slightly, rubbing her face with her hands.
"I'm scared, Remus." Tonks said.
Remus gave her a hug. "I know." He said. "Can I do anything to help?" He asked.
"Can I stay with you tonight, please?" She asked, softly.
"Yeah, come on." He said, offering his hand to her.
Tonks almost crashed into the desk beside Remus's bed, but he swiftly guided her away.
Remus and Tonks sank into his covers, while Remus held her close.
Tonks nuzzled into him, sighing in relaxation. she felt much more calm with him.
He rubbed her arm, soothing her.
"What if we can't stop them, Remus?" Tonks asked. Remus knew that she was talking about Voldemort and the death eaters. He understood how she felt. He'd felt that way on more occasions than he could count.
"Dumbledore truly believes in Harry. And so do I. He's particularly talented." Remus said. "I'm not sure how Harry fits into everything, but Dumbledore says he believes that he's the key to ending the war."
"I really hope he's right." Tonks said. Stroking Remus stomach over his shirt.
"Is this okay?" She asked.
Remus nodded that it was. "Mhm." He said.
"Okay. Good." Tonks said. "Sometimes it's hard to know what's alright with you." She explained.
Remus couldn't really defend himself against the statement. He certainly wasn't an open book, that was for sure.
"I'm sorry." Remus said. "If it helps the only place I don't really like being touched is my back and shoulders. everywhere else is alright." He explained to her.
"Thanks for letting me know." She said, hugging him. Being sure to just touch the areas he felt most comfortable with.
Eventually, it was remus who broke the comfortable silence.
"Um, Dora." He started. "Would you like to do something with me on Valentine's Day?" He asked.
Tonks shifted a little bit, and looked up at him. Remus could see that she had a small smile on her face.
"Yeah, I'd like that a lot, Remus." Tonks gave him a quick kiss, before drifting off to sleep in his arms.
Both of them slept much more peacefully than they had before.
