Biography:

Criminologist Denny Colt, raised in the poverty-struck slums of Central City, grew up a brilliant, athletic young man. His interests, probably partially born from a wish to amend society over the misdeeds of his crooked uncle, made him a devoted crimefighter working closely with the police department headed by Commissioner Eustace Dolan.

During one of his exploits, Colt rushed into the underground laboratory of Doctor Cobra, a renegade scientist working with the Nazis shortly before the start of World War Two. Cobra had been working on developing an immortality serum for himself, and during his fight with Colt, the experimental chemicals bathed the young detective, leaving him in a state of apparent death. Waking up in his own grave days later, Colt managed to break free and make his way to Dolan's office.

Since the world believed him dead, Colt decided to assume the masked identity of The Spirit, a nocturnal mystery man out to fight crime from the shadows in affairs where the police's hands were tied. He'd work from his headquarters at the Wildwood Cemetery, his real identity only known by Commissioner Dolan and his young chauffeur and sidekick, Ebony White.

Class Skills:

Presence Concealment: C+

Well used to hide in the concealing shadows of a large city, Assassin can comfortably travel unaided and undetected for prolonged periods of time; however, a consistent character trait of the character that he could be sometimes too reckless, too impulsive for his own good, and the same wildcard luck that would often get him out of scrapes almost miraculously would also get him found out and attacked in the first place.

Overall, however, Assassin is discrete and will not make himself known willingly without a good reason, although he may lower his guard around attractive women in this regard. While he never used guns for most of his career, to be truly effective as a Servant he was summoned with two handguns he wielded during the first few active months of his stint as a masked man, and he is rather apt as an accurate shooter.

While traveling along his Master, Assassin can further disguise himself even in the open, by simply donning a pair of dark glasses over his very small trademark domino mask. For some reason, this always sufficed to hide his identity as The Spirit whenever he wished to mingle with the general population. Only those who already know him as Assassin Denny Colt or Servants with Discernment and Eye of the Mind Skills will manage to see through this disguise and identify him as a Heroic Spirit, until he either attacks or takes his glasses off.

Personal Skills:

My City Screams: B

His guns are mostly a last resource he isn't particularly fond of; Assassin would rather fight by using whatever he has at hand at the time, and he's a master of improvising in combat and beating opponents down with common tools, their own borrowed weapons, or assorted implements scattered about the battlefield, especially those found in an urban jungle. The Spirit was deeply attached to his city and saw him as an extension of himself to care for and look after to the death; he is at his most effective in large urbanized environments, but not at a full disadvantage in the wild, as he also had several adventures in the tropical Peligros islands, located somewhere in the Caribbean.

While looking for other Servants and their Masters, Assassin will have a natural instinct for locating the best informants, and his detective skills will also greatly aid in these tasks. As for his use of the tools at hand for fighting, while it's not remarkable enough to count as a true Noble Phantasm like Lancelot's Knight of Ownership, he can find a use for almost anything within his reach, as long as he can successfully lift and swing it.

Natural Born Ladykiller: B

Through his life, Assassin met many beautiful femme fatales, ranging from Dolan's strict and honest daughter Ellen, who would rise to the rank of Mayor of Central City, to the ruthless and murderous crimelord the Black Queen. Some of them would be willing to exploit him and others for their selfish goals, like the crafty black widow P'Gell; others would be simply lost souls devoured by the harshness of the criminal underworld, like 'Wild' Rice, or even enigmatic supernatural entities like Lorelei Rox, singing siren of death. All of them would be attracted to him, however, whether the genius scientist Silken Floss, the exotic dancing assassin Plaster of Paris, or Colt's greatest love, childhood sweetheart turned master thief Sand Saref.

Assassin's appeal to ladies extends to his existence as a Heroic Spirit. While never a man to willingly exploit women for personal pursuits, he has a way to convince them to cooperate with him through smooth words and natural charisma. However, this is a double edged sword, as Assassin can also be successfully influenced and manipulated by intelligent, seductive women willing to take advantage of his chivalrous nature.

Battle Continuation: B

Assassin can endure incredible amounts of physical punishment before folding over. Despite not wearing any sort of body armor or protective gear, he was often remarked to be extremely difficult to subdue and knock out. Massive amounts of mana loss are required to fully eliminate him, and he can keep on fighting as long as there is any trace of energy into him.

Noble Phantasms:

Last Night I Dreamed of Doctor Cobra: C

The chemical bath starting Denny Colt's second life granted him a superhumanly long increased lifespan, and a youth that would last decades after his friends and compatriots all grew old and died. This vigor also translates into a healing factor that enhances his Battle Continuation and becomes the basis for this Noble Phantasm.

If Assassin is aware he's going to be killed beyond a doubt of hope, he can summon this Noble Phantasm upon himself, and its effects will make it so he can regenerate back to life and full health even if he's reduced to a part of himself as small as a simple toe. He will return to life clad in a black suit now, replacing his iconic blue suit and hat, but otherwise remains exactly the same Servant with the same set of memories as before his 'death'. However, if he is killed before the Noble Phantasm is activated, Assassin will just die irrevocably.

Outer Space Spirit: C

Once, Assassin was selected as the overseer of an experimental program to send convicts to the Moon, in an attempt to establish the viability of outer space travel much like seafaring crews had once recruited scoundrels and jaybirds. Begrudgingly, the Spirit agreed to this project, and he made a memorable, if troubled, trip to the lunar surface along a ragtag bunch of misfits he commandeered after once jailing himself.

This incident grants Assassin the ability to summon a space rocket to pilot and man with allies of his choice. The rocket is not extremely maneuverable in close spaces and mostly can head into straight lines, but is useful to ram into fortresses or large ships without receiving much meaningful damage, thanks to an extremely resistant hull designed to weather the rigors of cosmic vacuum. However, otherwise, this will not grant Assassin the Riding Skill.

Summon: "Hey! You look like you've just seen a ghost! Not to worry, it's just me, Servant Assassin... though in all honesty, I'd rather be called... a Spirit..."

Start of Battle: "Okay, big guy, you're going down." (Against male opponents).

"A lady? Well, I don't like to hit women, but..." (Against female opponents).

"What kind of thing are you...?" (Against non human opponents).

Victory: "See? I told you, that you were going down!"

"Don't get so upset. It could've gone the other way around, too."

"Geez, now I need some rest and relaxation..."

Defeat: "So there was no luck this time..."

"Ouch, that really, really stung...!"

"Dang, I couldn't cut it!"

Defeat by Noble Phantasm: "I... I'd never seen anything like this...!"

Noble Phantasm Activation: "Everytime, it all comes back to me... Last night I dreamed of Doctor Cobra."

"Should be excited... why am I not excited? Ah yes. I remember now. This space stuff, it isn't as fancy as it might look like..."

Extra Dialogue:

"Ah, yeah, I remember you, of course. The great vigilante of Gotham! Still can't crack a smile at all, huh?" (When you have Avenger Batman).

"Ah, ha ha ha! It's you, shrimp! Oh, still furious over that one time, aren't you? C'mon, put your fists up then! We'll settle that issue right now!" (When you have Saber Cerebus the Aardvark).

"Um, no, sorry, what th' heck's wrong with you, little lady? Oh? Oh no no, I really don't like that way you're looking at me..." (When you have Assassin or Caster Shuten Douji).

"You know, a cute kid like you should get out more, I don't know... Oi! Don't give me that dirty eyeful, kid! I was just saying..." (When you have Assassin or Archer Osakabehime).

Birthday: "Oh, it's your birthday? That's cool! I didn't know so I didn't bring a gift, but let's go for burgers! My treat!"

Event: "Ha ha, watch your steps around this joint, Master. Just look at all the lowlives gathered here..."

Holy Grail: "Hmmm! What could I wish for, indeed? I don't know, let me think... What do you think? Got any good ideas of your own?"
