Chapter 6: Let the Battle Royale Commence!

I was up early as I began doing my stretches feeling my muscles relax as I breathed deeply. Today was the day, we would learn who advances to being a Chunin and who failed to impress. Despite the Hokage assuring us that just because you win doesn't mean you'll necessarily pass but I was determined to win. After the humiliation that Kabuto left me with by not even fighting me, I was more than determined to fight my heart out this go around.

I heard a knock at the door opening it to see Ren and Reno smiling happily towards me as Reno said, "We are here to escort you milady."

Rolling my eyes I replied, "Don't call me that weirdo."

Walking out with them we met up with Hayner and his father seeing the determined look on his face, but he nodded towards me. Nodding back, I knew that if we were to fight each other we'd give it our all and be happy with whoever passed. Making our way to the stadium Reno and Ren wished us both luck as Hayner and I walked towards the side where some of the other competitors were.

My eyes scanned overseeing the sand ninjas, Neji and Shino already made it seeing Shino briefly look in my direction but turn back. Eventually Naruto and Shikamaru showed up, but Dosu and Sasuke were nowhere to be found seeing the crowd was getting antsy to start.

Despite missing some members, they decided to start the exam seeing Neji and Naruto enter the arena first leaning down with mild curiosity. Once the okay was given it was easily showing that Neji was very confident in his technique and abilities and Naruto just didn't seem to know when to give up. Confidant as he was Naruto's unrelenting will seemed to be the edge needed to outdo Neji. His chakra capacity was massive seeing even though his chakra point was severed an even more powerful chakra burst through him seeing the orange energy surround him.

I listened to Neji's story with a frown, I knew what it was like to be an outcast but instead of growing hatred I grew the need to be better. Watching Naruto create more shadow clones the real one hid in waiting seeing him burst from below ground knocking Neji back, he had won the match.

As Neji was taken to see a medical shinobi next up was Shikamaru and Temari being a bit more curious about how this was going to turn out. I knew a bit about Shikamaru's ability with shadow manipulation, but he was also incredibly lazy about it. Temari had spunk and caught the eye of Reno which I found both comical yet dangerous. Both were smart and tactical anticipating each other's moves perfectly but, in the end, Shikamaru was able to trap her. I watched him raise her hand but, in a surprise turn of events, he quit knowing he didn't have enough chakra to continue.

The crowd seemed bored with how that ended but I thought it was smart, knowing when you are beat is much harder than letting yourself get killed because you were foolish. I looked around seeing Dosu had yet to show up frowning as I looked towards the proctor.

"I've been informed that Dosu was killed before the start of the Chunin exam and so in his place fighting Yuna Ketsueki will be Shino Aburame." he said feeling my body tense up seeing Shino instantly make his way down to the arena.

I put on a brave face walking down to the arena facing him as the proctor stood between us saying, "Alright you two begin."

I tensed up seeing bugs begin to spill out of Shino surrounding him feeling my knees shake as he said, "Now that I know your weakness this will be easy."

I began dodging the bugs knowing that they ate chakra moving around as more and more began pouring out of his sleeves. Doing some hand signs, I sent lightning towards Shino seeing him dodge around it while I cursed quietly. He came up towards me throwing punches as I started defending myself seeing his kunai fly out going to slash at me.

I jumped backwards not paying attention to my surroundings as a horde of bugs swarmed around me making me try to swipe them away. I fell to my knees feeling them buzzing against my ears covering my face so they didn't get inside me shaking with fear.

"You are weak… I shall enjoy humiliating you." I heard him say making my body start to shake in anger instead of fear.

Doing a quick hand sign lightning erupted around me seeing thousands of bugs die at my feet panting lightly while his eyes narrowed towards me. Shocks sparked around me seeing he was trying to get his bugs on me but the light electric current running through me kept them from touching me. Seeing him grip his kunai tighter I grabbed my own ready for whatever he was throwing at me next.

We clashed back and forth with one another feeling cuts form on my skin while I was unable to get to him with my kunai alone. Ducking from another swipe he punched me in the face sending me skidding backwards but I kept my feet planted on the ground.

We were both panting as I tasted metal in my mouth rubbing my thumb over my lips seeing blood staring at it for a moment.

"Don't tell me you're afraid of a little blood too." he mocked trying to get me riled up, but I just smirked saying, "You should be the one afraid."

He gave me a questioning look as I took my kunai plunging it into my hand seeing him take a step towards me in surprise.

"What are you crazy?" he asked making me laugh saying, "You wanted to see what I can really do… well then see."

Feeling the blood seep out I wiped my hand outwards seeing the blood fly out of my hand as it hardened turning into a blood Katana watching his eyebrows raise. I could barely hear muffled noises from the crowd, but I was focused on Shino in front of my pointing my weapon at him.

"Let's end this." I said seeing his fist tighten running at me as we began clashing with one another.

Anytime he went to swipe at me my blood came out of the wounds he had created earlier now intertwined with my chakra blocking the attacks. Knowing I was running low on my chakra my weapon collided with his seeing it turn to liquid again dripping down his arm. He moved his eyes towards it expecting to be hit but I used my other fist to punch him in the gut sending him flying to the opposite wall.

I stood panting as the proctor said, "Shino is no longer able to compete, Yuna is the winner."

I quickly ripped some of my skirt wrapping it around the gash in my arm to stop the bleeding walking weakly back up to the others. Not long after Shino walked up limping as he turned towards me but quickly looked away seeing him shake with anger.

Looking back to the others Kankuro and Hayner were next watching Hayner begin to walk down until Kankuro said, "I give, he looks way to strong."

My eyes widened seeing Hayner glare towards him but remain silent as the crowd booed Kankuro who didn't seem to care. I knew Hayner was angry but for now he would have to wait to fight the next person as it was now Gaara and Sasuke's turn. Clearly the crowd were waiting for this as they began cheering loudly watching Gaara stand in the arena until Sasuke appeared by his sensei's side.

What a showoff.
