Chapter 22: A Sister in Need

"We've looked all over the village and still no one has seen her." Reno yelled waving his hands in the air while I frowned saying, "Not only that but no one has seen Naruto either."

"I have a bad feeling about all this." Hayner said while Shino replied, "I agree we should talk to Lady Tsunade."

I nodded in agreement as we all made our way to the Hokage Tower hearing commotion on the other side opening the door to see Tsunade, Shizune, Sakura and Guy talking.

I saw the distress on some of their faces seeing Tsunade turn to us saying, "Well you guys are just in time to be briefed on a mission."

"Is this about Kurenai?" Shino asked seeing her nod replying, "She could potentially be involved yes but Guy will have to fill you in. Hayner and Reno you need to find Ren and bring him here, Shino and Yuna you'll go with Sakura and Guy to get the rest of team eight."

We all nodded quickly leaving the room as we found Kiba at his house and Hinata at hers quickly getting ready since it involved Kurenai.

"So, what's going on?" I asked as Guy replied, "We are headed to a villa in the Satomi Hills, a girl named Yakumo has been kidnapped there. As I remember Kurenai was training her a long time ago being that she was the daughter of the clan leader before her parents passed away."

We listened quietly as he told us the story of her clan and how powerful she could be if someone awakened her powers making her a target. It wasn't a guarantee that Kurenai would be there but perhaps if we could help this girl, it would bring Kurenai some peace of mind.

Suddenly I heard Sakura yelp behind me as we all stopped seeing her face first in the ground getting up sheepishly.

"Are you alright, did you trip on a root or something?" Guy asked as she looked behind her pulling out what appeared to be a sleeping Naruto.

"Of course, that loser would fall asleep in the bushes." Kiba said as Akamaru barked peeing on his face holding in a giggle.

When he didn't move though I began to worry as Sakura said, "Wait a second… I think it's a Genjutsu."

She kneeled and released it seeing Naruto open his eyes groggily sitting up making me cringe as he stuck his tongue out to figure out what was on his face.

"Ugh that's salty what the heck is on my face!" he said in anguish rubbing it as Sakura replied, "Stop babbling you were under a Genjutsu."

"A Genjutsu?" Naruto asked hearing Shino say, "Yea somebody must have placed it on you."

Naruto began to think for a moment before making a face saying, "The last thing I remember is chasing Kurenai-sensei to that villa on Satomi Hill… she wouldn't even stop to listen to me."

"The villa on Satomi Hill… Naruto was Kurenai traveling there by herself?" Guy asked seeing Naruto nod replying, "Yea I think so."

I saw Guys face change looking towards the hill saying, "Kurenai has no idea what she's walking into, she's in danger."

"We should hurry." I said jumping off as they all followed hearing Kiba tell Hinata to use her Byakugan to look ahead.

After a few moments I heard Hinata make a noise of distress as Guy asked, "What do you see?"

"It looks like there is a fight starting, there are four out front and four inside." she said as I replied, "Maybe Kurenai and Yakumo are the ones inside."

"Yea you're probably right." Naruto said making me more determined to make sure she was safe not only for her team but Ren-sensei as well.

Suddenly we all stopped running sensing a presence except Naruto who decided to run full force at him despite Hinata, Sakura and myself telling him to stop. It was clear that he was trapped in a Genjutsu as Shino stepped in knowing his insects were immune to it. I watched everything begin to fade as a man engulfed in insects tried to cry out but couldn't making me shiver. However, it seemed he was fooling us as he simply disappeared.

Akamaru jumped forward barking as Kiba smirked saying, "You can run but you can't hide your scent."

Watching Akamaru turn into a Kiba clone they snuffed out the bad guy watching Guy leap in the air kicking him into the ground hard.

"Your mediocre Genjutsu is no match for us talented shinobi." Guy proclaimed proudly as I heard behind me, "Get off of me you overgrown plant!"

"Speak for yourself..." I said with a sigh watching Naruto wither on the ground helplessly still trapped in the Genjutsu.

Sakura begrudgingly released him again as I crossed my arms saying, "You shouldn't go head on like that with Genjutsu users..."

"Oh, that's right Kurenai-sensei and Yakumo!" Naruto shouted running off ahead as the team and I sighed.

Once we made it to the villa, we all rushed inside seeing four men unconscious trapped in a Genjutsu by the looks of it. Hinata used her Byakugan but told us that Kurenai was gone, taking Yakumo with her by the looks of it.

"Naruto, Sakura and Hinata you go ahead to find Kurenai, Kiba, Yuna and Shino you'll stay here with me in case more show up." Guy said as we all nodded watching the others jump off.

We each grabbed one of the men dragging them outside seeing they were fast asleep and clearly not needing to be restrained. We all split up and checked the rest of the rooms in the villa feeling the air heavy but quiet none the less. Walking out of one room I almost ran into Shino seeing him lift his kunai up and collide with my own.

"Gonna have to try harder than that to get me." I said hearing him make a noise before the sound of wings surrounded me making me back up instinctively.

"Clearly it's not that hard." he said walking away as I followed him saying, "Hey if you were traumatized by bugs as a child you'd understand."

"As an infant I became a nest to thousands of bugs and they are constantly moving around under my skin, never bothered me any." he said flatly.

My eyes widened saying, "Really since you were an infant… that's crazy!"

"Maybe to you, and if you actually accepted me for my bugs, you could actually learn some things." he said in a matter-of-fact tone making me huff replying, "Would we even be friends if I liked your bugs?"

He stopped for a moment looking towards me than away saying, "Probably not but we'll probably never know."

I made a mocking face towards him behind his back as we heard some commotion going on outside to see Hinata was back. They were able to find Kurenai and Yakumo causing me to breathe a sigh of relief that everyone was okay.
