Chapter 32: Reunited

Two and A Half Years Later

Opening my eyes, the sun shone brightly through my window as I got up stretching then brushing my wild red hair out of my face. Standing up I walked into the bathroom rubbing the sleep from my eyes staring at my reflection, I had changed a lot in the last few years.

My hair was a bit longer, now reaching the small of my back while my body had grown to become womanlier. Though I wasn't completely on par with Hinata my hip definition was very apparent, and my muscle definition had gotten better. After taking a shower I began getting dressed putting on my black and red outfit wrapping one of my arms in wraps before slipping on my shoes.

"Yuna! Let's go!" I heard from outside opening the door to see Reno waving towards me excited.

For the most part he looked the same except he was much taller than I was now and had a lot more muscles than I did. I guess all that training with Ren-sensei really paid off in the end, speaking of Ren-sensei he should be back today from his mission with Anko. I smiled lightly at that, they had started dating recently and in the beginning, it was really rocky but Ren was good at rounding out her edges.

"You slept in… were you out late again?" Hayner asked crossing his arms, oh Hayner, he became the new Sasuke of the village.

Girls swooned over him much to his annoyance, he wasn't as muscle toned as Reno, but he was quick and cunning and earned his right to become a Jonin. We didn't get to work together as much now that he was a Jonin and we were Chunin but that didn't stop us from taking time together a few times a week to catch up between missions.

"Sorry… I didn't think I'd be out so late but once Shino sees an interesting bug he doesn't stop." I said sheepishly rubbing the back of my head laughing.

"Jeeze you guys need to date already and get it over with." Reno said rolling his eyes making me hit him in the back of the head saying, "Don't say such foolish things we're just friends!"

"Yea loser… I train with Tenten but that doesn't mean we are dating either." Hayner said crossing his arms while Reno giggled saying, "But you want to."

It was Hayner's turn to hit him in the head while I laughed replying, "Team eight is leaving this morning for a long mission otherwise I would have gone to bed earlier."

I heard footsteps running towards me followed by, "Yuna-sensei!"

Turning I saw Konohamaru and his friends running towards me clearly out of breath as I smiled leaning down saying, "Hey guys what's going on?"

"Naruto is back!" he said unable to contain his excitement making my eyes widen saying, "When did he get here?"

He laughed replying, "We just saw him, he was going to see Grandma Tsunade."

"Well, we gotta see if that little goof has grown at all." Reno said pumping his fist while I nodded seeing Hayner nod silently.

Konohamaru and his friends had begun walking beside us, I had been their squad leader a few times on small missions. Though Moegi was a huge fan girl of Reno he of course was oblivious to it while Konohamaru said I was his muse for his jutsu… whatever that meant.

Making it to the Hokage tower we all saw a familiar head of blond hair as I yelled, "Naruto!"

He turned excited as I hugged him saying, "Long time no see."

"Wow Yuna you look good, a lot more grown up." he said seeing Sakura give him a defeated look beside her while Reno fist bumped him saying, "Looks like you're not so little anymore."

"Neither are you and whoa Hayner you got tall too." Naruto said smiling while he nodded replying, "After over two years I'd hope so."

"Where are you guys headed?" Konohamaru asked as Sakura replied, "Naruto and I are facing off against Kakashi-sensei."

"Well, I wish you guys luck, Kakashi-sensei has been relentless in my training lately." I said slumping slightly while Hayner nudged me saying, "You like it."

Smirking I gave him a thumb up replying, "Of course, I have to work on being a Jonin too."

"Well, we'll be routing for you on your training." Reno said patting Naruto's back as I waved kindly towards him and Sakura.

"Can't believe he's back..." Hayner said as I nodded frowning a little.

If he was back that must also mean Akatsuki was on the move, Kakashi had briefed me a little on them but sadly we didn't know much. With the only two members we did know he helped me on training against them which for now would have to do.

"Come on Yuna let's go!" Reno said snapping me out of my thoughts nodding as I ran off with him making our way to the forest.

"Who are we focusing on this time?" Hayner asked seeing Reno stare at him saying, "It's your turn."

I saw Hayner smirk replying, "Well then get going, you have till I count to ten."

In a flash Reno and I disappeared quickly making a few shadow clones hiding up high while I saw Reno go low. Hayner already on the move was walking calmly around seeing him go to take a step but stop crossing his arms.

"Reno you'll have to try harder than that." Hayner said taking a step over a trap only for him to get caught by the ankle in another.

Seeing it was just a shadow clone and not actually Hayner I quickly looked around seeing him above Reno using my kunai to cut into my skin. My blood snaked out towards them going to grip his leg but he side-stepped jumping back giving Reno enough time to move.

"Don't give away your position so easily." Hayner said walking to the direction of my clone as I jumped backwards landing beside Reno.

He engaged with my clone seeing her smirk before colliding with his fist as my blood gripped onto him while he quickly used his other hands to form a sign. My clone glared playfully seeing him use water to lubricate his fist enough to slip out as he hit her with a kunai watching her disappear.

He began looking around getting in a defensive pose as Reno and I went opposite sides watching a fireball hurl towards Hayner seeing him duck. Side stepping, I avoided the attack seeing a kunai with an explosive tag attached to it. Quickly back flipping I landed sideways on the tree seeing Hayner smirk towards me while my eyes traveled behind him.

His body tensed up seeing Reno behind him putting a kunai to his back watching Hayner put a hand up saying, "Not bad, our teamwork is getting better, though I anticipate your attacks they're fluid together."

"We are pretty awesome." Reno said flashing a smile while I walked down replying, "To bad we can't always work together."

"We have our own paths to follow, pretty soon all my time and effort will be towards the path of the ANBU." Hayner said while Reno put his arm around me saying, "At least Yuna and I are following the same career path."

"We'll still all be friends." I said holding up a charm I kept on my waist.

"What's that?" I asked looking over Hayner's shoulder seeing him hold up three charms all a different color.

"I got these from my last mission, it's said this is a symbol of friendship through the good and bad." he said keeping the blue one and handing me the red one.

"I would think this is lame to you..." Reno said holding his green one curiously while Hayner's eyes narrowed replying, "You're lame."

"It's a thoughtful gift, now no matter how apart we are we always will be thinking about one another." I said smiling fondly at it as they both nodded.

"Seems like so long ago." Reno said sheepishly while I nodded replying, "We should head back and grab some dinner, you leave first thing in the morning right Hayner?"

"Yes, and if I recall you're going to the hidden hot spring's village right Reno?" he asked seeing Reno smirk saying, "Yea lots of hot naked ladies is my jam."

Sighing I shook my head, some things never change.

I decided to forgo a bunch of chapters on what happened during the time skip but little snippets will happen in future chapters.
