Chapter 35: Yuna Vs Itachi

I felt the tension thick in the air as my eyes averted down so I wasn't looking him in the eyes while Naruto growled beside me.

"It's been a while Kakashi… Naruto..." he began feeling his eyes land on me saying, "And you, Yuna Ketsueki, Blood user of the Leaf."

I felt my body shudder, he didn't know who I was before but now it seems they did their research on me as Kakashi said, "Everyone don't look him directly in the eyes it's dangerous."

Chiyo began going over what she felt was the best form of attack being that one distracts him while we all attack from behind. My eyes turned towards Kakashi, I remembered how much pain he was in being inside his Genjutsu for a matter of seconds and he was a Jonin. No, this was too dangerous for Naruto and Sakura to deal with, and I think Kakashi knew it too.

"Alright then let's go." Naruto said seeing him begin to move but Kakashi held up his hand saying, "Wait."

"Kakashi-sensei what do you mean by wait?!" Naruto said angrily as Chiyo said, "Are you saying my way of fighting is wrong?"

"No, if it was a normal Genjutsu user that would work but it's more complicated in this case." Kakashi began explaining what exactly Itachi's Sharingan could truly do.

"However, I remember last time we fought how quickly you wanted to retreat after using your "eyes" could it be that the more you do it the worse it gets?" Kakashi asked as Itachi remained quiet for a moment before saying, "You have analyzed a lot from that one encounter, I'm impressed Kakashi."

"So then what should we do Kakashi-sensei?" Sakura asked worried feeling Kakashi's eyes land on me, "Yuna, I leave this to you first."

I heard Naruto make a noise of surprise as I took a step forward keeping my eyes downward reaching up for my forehead protector. Stopping my movements, I turned towards Naruto seeing him frozen as Sakura and Chiyo went to his rescue. Once the Genjutsu was released from him he was panting and looked angrily in Itachi's direction keeping my head down gripping my forehead protector in my hand.

Naruto

I looked over towards Yuna seeing her put her forehead protector over her eyes furrowing my eyebrows saying quietly, "What is she doing?"

"Well while you both were busy with Tsunade, and Jiraiya I spent time training Yuna on fighting off the Akatsuki and what better way to fight an enemy who attacks with eye contact than taking that advantage away." Kakashi said seeing him smile under his mask as I turned towards Yuna seeing her fist tighten.

"Be ready for my signal." she said confidently as I nodded unsure what the signal was seeing her bring her kunai across her palms watching the blood sprout to life.

Quick as a flash she was gone afraid to look up only hearing the clanks of metal against metal making me smile, you really have gotten stronger Yuna.

Yuna

My senses quickly adapted to losing my sight being able to feel his movements around me, though his Genjutsu was excellent he must have not been used to moving fast. I could feel my blood pulsating behind me in four positions knowing that I had marked the others correctly. Now I just needed to get Itachi as I did some hand signs.

I splayed out my fingers as blood shot around the area sticking to the ground and trees getting a better sense of the area around me. I had learned quickly my blood was perfect for sensory jutsu since I could continually feel the chakra from my blood even after it left my body. Hearing movement to my left I quickly turned as my blood shot up to protect me feeling a pressure press up against me before bouncing off.

Landing sideways on a tree I turned my head listening for any sounds around me moving to the side just as a kunai flew by my head.

"Your powers have improved greatly since last we met, I'm impressed." Itachi said smoothly to my side as I smirked replying, "You ain't seen nothing yet."

"Is this really necessary?" I asked tying my headband around my eyes hearing Kakashi reply, "I believe this is the best shot we got if we are to run into Itachi again."

Looking around I frowned lightly saying, "How will I know where he is though… he'll obviously be quiet and have the advantage of seeing me."

"True but you have the advantage of not letting him copy your moves besides he can't use his blood like you can." Kakashi said feeling him push me as I stumbled back glaring in the direction it came from replying, "So I guess my blood will be useful?"

I grabbed a kunai from my pouch cutting a small hole in my skin letting it drip to the ground as I felt the chakra laced with it make my skin vibrate. Cutting a bigger hole Kakashi went to push me from another direction taking a step back as my blood started to drip onto the ground around me.

I stopped moving for a moment as I could sense someone stepping on my blood instinctively moving as I grabbed onto Kakashi's hand.

Moving my headband, I smiled as I could see a smile behind his mask saying, "Looks like we are getting somewhere."

Doing some hand signs, I lifted my hands on either side of me sending an electric wave with my blood swirled around it. Ducking quickly, I felt the air above me as a kunai passed by hitting next to my head hearing a light hiss causing me to jump off the tree to a different one. Realizing it was an explosive tag I pushed the four pulsating forms back, so they weren't in the crossfire looking in the direction the attack came from. Feeling the heat from the attack I moved towards where Itachi threw it hearing his feet shuffle stopping for a moment swiping my blood behind me in time to hit a shadow clone.

Cursing lightly, I listened around me for a moment slowing my breath as my body relaxed while my hand twitched, got you!

Moving my hand in the opposite direction he was before I met his arm gripping it for only a moment, but it was enough. Sending a vibration towards the others I heard a familiar spark doing a cartwheel out of the way landing on the ground in front of the remaining two who hadn't moved. Moving my headband up again I saw Kakashi and Naruto on either side of Itachi who was trapped by my blood but frowned.

As they pulled away the body fell to the ground seeing it was an impostor looking towards Naruto and Kakashi as my blood loosened falling to the ground.

"That was awesome Yuna!" Naruto said as Kakashi investigated the body making me rub the back of my head replying, "Thanks, I had a good teacher."

I saw Sakura and Chiyo discussing the body impostor and how it was only a fraction of Itachi's true power while he merely used a Sand shinobi's body to do his work. Frowning I wrapped up my wounds as Naruto helped me up feeling a little lightheaded, this had been the most blood I used in a while seeing it was all over the place.

"No doubt they are already extracting the one-tailed from Gaara..." Chiyo said making me look towards her saying, "Wouldn't that take a substantial amount of chakra?"

"Yes… which is why they probably sent these guys to deal with us… they must need a lot of chakra from multiple shinobi to even attempt this." Kakashi said while Sakura replied, "That could mean even more members of the Akatsuki are gathered at the site."

"I doubt that they probably have them spread out to keep from getting ambushed at once." Chiyo said making me nod.

"What would happen if the One-tailed was taken out of Gaara?" Naruto asked quietly seeing Chiyo frown replying, "It would kill him."

I felt my body tense up seeing Naruto's fist tighten to her answer taking a pill out of my pouch and biting into it putting my hand on his shoulder.

"Come on we have a friend to save." I said giving him an encouraging smile as he smiled back nodding.
