Phase 7: Big Cheese Estate
The trio walks for some time until they find a large mansion nearby. "Gee, this place is quite big here," Makoto said as they walked up to the door to see it is locked.
"Well can't go through the front door, let's see if they are any other doors we can go through," Leon said as the trio walked around the area to encounter a few infected wolves. "Oh great," Leon said as he puts bullets down range but one of the Colmillo tackles him trying to go for his throat.
"Oh no you don't," Makoto fires her magnum revolver to blast off its head to save her boyfriend. "You okay honey?" she asked.
"Thanks, Mako," Leon said as he rolls away from a lunging beast to put shots from his Silver Ghost into the skull of the monster dog.
"No problem, it's always worth it," Makoto said as she switches to her M93R pistol to put swift three-round bursts to slice through their heads to put them down.
Ark kicks a lunging dog to knock it into a rusted spike from the fence to impale it there. "Stupid dog," Ark said as they clear up the Colmillos to go towards the back to see the grass has gotten very tall.
"Gee, someone should get a lawn mower to cut these," Leon said.
"Yeah, no one seems to be tending to these for a while now," Makoto said as she looks down to see bear traps in their path. "Gee, more of these," she said.
"Better be careful," Ark said as they shoot anything nearby traps to make sure they don't get caught in one. They approached the back door to see it was unlocked.
"Lucky us," Leon said as he slowly moves through the door to see the mansion is quite fancy inside. "Oh, seems like someone is showing off to the locals," Leon said as the walls has a nice red texture and the floor has a nice wooden finish.
"Yeah, it must be where the chief of this village lives," Makoto said.
"The Big Cheese Estate here," Leon said lightly for them to hear someone taking a dump nearby.
"Is someone taking a shit nearby?" Ark questioned for a door to the side opened for a Ganado comes rushing at them. Leon uses his shotgun to knock him against the wall to break his neck.
"That is your answer," Leon said as Makoto looked into the door to see it was a small bathroom that just has a sink and a hole in a box.
"Oh fuck, that parasite does a number on your intestines," Makoto said as the smell is unbearable to quickly get out of there.
"Hope he wiped first before trying to grab us," Leon said as they went into the main area to see a dinner table next to the kitchen.
"I wonder if they got any food in that fridge?" Ark wondered to go over to the refrigerator to see if most of the food had been rotten away. "Gee, how do they eat," he wondered to see a bag of rice and slices of fish inside which looks fresh. "I got something," Ark said as Makoto is happy about this.
"Oh good, I can make some rice bowls for us to eat. Cheap, simple, and fulfilling to eat," Makoto said.
"Mako, your food is always nice," Leon said.
"Thanks, baby. I can cook for you anyway," Makoto said as Ark hands her the food items to put into her backpack.
"I am here too you know," Ark said as Makoto giggled.
"Sorry, you can share in my survival cooking as well," Makoto said with her bright smile. The trio looks around to see a bunch of photos on a table. "Gee what is this?" she wondered to see all the old white and black photos with different villagers living their lives within this rural lifestyle.
"So old," Leon said as they see all of them looking very happy. "So sad," Leon said feeling sympathy for these people to have their lives to be destroyed by this vicious cult having a death grip on this unknown region.
"Hey, there is a fleet of stairs up here," Ark said as the trio go up the stairs to be on the second floor. They ready their weapons to hear something downstairs. "Oh, now what?" he questioned see the Ganado managed to get back up seeing his broken head twitching with bits of the Plagas showing up.
"Oh no," Makoto uses her Burst Pistol to fire a few bursts to stun the monster with Makoto doing a spinning kick to knock it onto the floor. She puts a few more rounds into its head to finally kill it.
"Gee, hope no more surprises," Leon said as they approach a door which has a weird crystal on it. "Puzzles," he said as there is the cult's symbol to see a bunch of dots spread out inside.
"Seems like you need to line up the dots to match the image," Makoto said as Leon moves the orb to begin lining up the image trying to unlock the door.
"What is with these crazy setups," Makoto said.
"It's built like a haunted house," Ark said as Leon is doing a few tries to manage to unlock the door.
"Good, time to see what's inside," Leon opens the door to see it's the bedroom of Chief Mendez. "Looking fancy for a village chief," he said as they search through the room to see a looming picture of a weird-looking man in purple robes and holding a metal staff.
"Who is this?" Makoto wondered as the trio looked upon the picture.
"He seems important to the cult here," Ark said as Leon feels weird about him.
"He seems familiar," Leon thought. "Hey, did you guys see anything weird like hearing voices within your head?" he asked.
"Oh yeah, some creepy guy was talking about becoming part of his cult," Makoto said.
"Gives me the creeps," Ark said as they looked around to see if they can find anything useful.
Leon sees a picture frame that looks out of place. Leon taps the frame to knock it onto the floor to reveal a lever. "Interesting," he pulls it down to show a ladder that heads into the attic. "Guys, look at this," Leon said the trio looks at the ladder.
"Hope there is something useful," Makoto said as Ark goes first.
"Ladies first," Leon said.
"You just want to look up my butt," Makoto said.
"No agreements there," Leon said as Makoto giggles at Leon's frankness.
'Well enjoy the view," Makoto goes up for Leon dwells on her big bottom filling out her jeans.
"Indeed," Leon said as he goes to tap her on the rear to make her jump.
"You so dirty," Makoto said as she got into the attic.
"I have my moments," Leon said as they go inside for its dark and dirty. "Gee, it's so clustered here," Leon said as they turn on their lights to see piles of boxes and stuff around them.
"Lots of stuff here," Ark said as the trio go through the area for Makoto to find an old antique camera.
"Goodness, look at this. This is something from the early 1900s. I bet we can sell this to that merchant guy," Makoto said as she puts the treasure in her backpack.
Leon takes a photo of a man in a priest's robe with a big beard. "This is the big cheese," Leon said as he finds the name, Chief Mendez. "He must be the leader of this place," Leon said.
"He seems so nice like a priest should be," Makoto said.
"He was the catholic priest of the local church here. The cult used him to spare their parasite across the region via sermons and rituals," Makoto said.
"This place used to be so peaceful. Now it's just a gravesite," Leon said.
Ark finds a key with a strange image on it. "Hey this is interesting," Ark said.
"Yeah I have seen this on that door back in the village square," Leon said as he takes the key to put it in his pocket. They got something useful and got down the stairs.
"Intruders," Mendez said as the huge, breaded man appears by the door. The trio fires their weapons but nothing is working against him. He rushes at them and uses his arm to knock them all into the walls. He can sense that Plaga has taken root within their bodies. "Seems like you all have the gift in your blood but you need to be cleansed for the process to go at a rapid pace," Mendez grabs Leon to toss them through a window to send him outside.
"Babe, damn it," Makoto wields her Tanto dagger to stab it into Mendez's arm which does nothing. He knocks her away as Ark pulls out a flashbang.
"Close your eyes, we are getting out of here," Ark tosses the grenade to blind Mendez in a flash of light. Makoto and Ark rush out the door to get down the stairs.
"Baby, are you okay?" Makoto asked trying to get in contact with Leon.
"You are being too loud, Mako," Leon said as he shrugs off his fall.
"Thank goodness, we are going outside," Makoto said as she pulls out her Revolver for them to see the guy from the bathroom coming back to see his neck twisted. "Oh shit, this again," Makoto said as she fires a few shots to put the monster down.
"Okay, there is a cave nearby but there is a gate there," Leon said.
"Alright, we will meet you there," Makoto said as they turned around to see Mendez slowly following them.
"Your souls need to be cleansed," Mendez said as Ark switches to his MAC-10 to pepper the lumbering man with bullets to barely slow him down.
"Gee, I am getting Tyrant flashbacks on Shenna Island all over again," Ark said as Mendez grabs a table to toss at them. The duo duck under the object to crash against the wall breaking into pieces.
Makoto fires her magnum revolver to slow him down a bit. "High power needed for that one," Makoto pulls out a moon clip filled with 6 .357 rounds to fill up the chamber in one go. She fires again but Mendez grabs a chair to block her shots and tosses it at them. They duck under the tossed jobs to get through the door.
Leon is by the gate to use the Insignia Key to unlock it. "Come on let's go," Leon said as the Ark and Makoto rush over with Mendez walking towards them. They are within a cavern with several villagers blocking their path. "Oh of course," he said as he uses his shotgun to blow through a crowd of them. The pellets tear them to pieces as they make a path back toward the village.
"Do not let them escape," Mendez ordered his folk to swarm them for the trio are getting close to the exit of the cavern. Ark shoots a villager to drop some dynamite which he has an idea.
"Thank you," Ark grabs a pack of explosives to pull out his lighter to set it up. He tosses it to the side of the cavern with them getting out of the cavern. There is a bunch of villagers gathering at the exit with the trio unloading their weapons to cut them down trying to hold them off.
The dynamite pack explodes which causes a rockslide that blocks the exit not allowing Mendez to follow after them. "This is becoming tiresome but as long as I am alive. They can't leave this place," Chief Mendez said as he walks away to command his minions to secure the area.
The trio catches their breath. "Gee, that was nuts," Ark said.
"Now, we got the key which will lead us to Ashley," Leon said.
"Yep, we are making progress here," Makoto said as they go off back to the village to resume their search for Ashley Graham.
