Phase 8: Holy Approach
The trio were at the gates of the villages again as they looked behind them to see the entrance to Mendez's manor had been blocked off due to a cave-in via explosives. "Well back here again," Leon said as he begins to open the gate with Makoto and Ark reloading their weapons.
"Gee, that guy is as bad as a tyrant," Makoto said.
"No shit about that," Ark said.
"We threw everything at him and he kept coming. It's going to be a problem if we don't deal with him," Leon said as they got through to be on the path to the village. One of the villagers looks over to see the Americans walking back into the village.
"Stupid Americans," the villager said as he gives the order to blow off the tower and set up the ambush. The trio noticed this as the tower that Makoto used to protect Leon and Ark from the first villager ambush is destroyed.
"What the hell?" Ark questioned as they noticed several areas are blocked with villagers coming up to greet them with melee weapons along with mutant dogs.
"Crap, it's a trap," Makoto draws her burst pistol to put rounds into the heads of the incoming Ganados.
"Thin out now," Leon said as they go in different directions. Leon goes through a lane to see it's blocked by a cart. "Shit, they are blocking angles of attack," he thought to see several villagers coming at him with axes and pitchforks.
One of them lunges at Leon to wield his knife to deflect her attack to stun them and follow up with a strong kick to the face snapping her neck on impact.
He wields his pistol to put bullets into the skulls of the incoming villagers. Leon sidesteps a lunging pitchfork as he kicks it out of the hands of a male villager to put a round into his skull to put him down. He switches to his shotgun to blow away a group of enemies seeing limbs and bits of gore scattered onto the ground.
"Gee, they got sections blocked off," Leon said on the comlink as he is blowing off the heads of villagers.
"No shit, I miss killing zombies," Ark said as he is uses his MAC-10 to pull back the wire stock to shoulder fire his Machine Pistol to burst fire into a bunch of villagers.
"Yeah no kidding, too organized here," Leon said as he is reloading his pistol to continue putting rounds into the enemies. Ark tosses a grenade to blast apart a group of enemies turning them into red paste onto the ground.
Colmillo leaps at Makoto as she kicks it in mid-air to knock it into a pile of wood. It gets impaled on a sharp piece of wood as she arms her revolver to fire into the heads of the infected canines to stop them in their tracks. She leaps through a window and she sees a bomb with a trap wire in front of her.
"Oh crap," she rolls underneath the wire as she aims her revolver at the window. Three dogs leap through the window to leap into the trip wire to set off the explosive and turn them into a pile of gore. She switches to her burst pistol to set it to a single shot to see a bunch of villagers coming into the house with their weapons trying to cut her to pieces. She pulls out her tanto dagger to stab into the neck of the villager to use her like a meat shield. Their sharp weapons stab into the impaled Ganado as she points her gun over the Ganado's shoulder to pop the guys in the head.
She swiftly severs the impale Ganado's neck as she kicks the severed head to knock into another villager to stun him. She fires several shots to put them down as she hides behind a fallen table to see more infected villagers coming in.
"Gee, more of them. There are trip-wire bombs in the buildings as well," Makoto said as she uses her M93R pistol to cut through the infested bodies. She leaps out of the window to see a Colmillo running after her as she puts her rounds into the skull of the monster dog putting it down.
"Gee, they planned this stuff out," Leon said as he leaps into a building to see a bunch of guys inside. He uses his Remington 870 shotgun to blast apart nearby enemies reducing them to piles of gore on the floor. "So annoying," Leon said as he looks out the window to see a sniper on top of a roof. "Oh, crap sniper, Mako. Take care of this," Leon said.
"You got it, babe. I need a good angle," Makoto said as Leon wielded his Silver Ghost to put bullets into their skulls. One of the dogs leaps through the window for fleshy strands coming out of its back trying to cut Leon.
He backs away by rolling away to avoid the flurry of attacks. He looks over to see a set of flame grenades to toss one of them to set the dog on fire. "Burn, you stupid dog," Leon fires his handgun to take out the dog.
Ark is getting close with several villagers with him using his pistol and knife together to pick apart each target with pistol rounds and slashes from his bowie knife. He fires his M1911 into the villager's knee to make her fall onto her knees to follow up with a strong kick knocking her against the wall.
He is dodging and parrying attacks with his knife while blasting them with his handgun clearing up the room. Makoto pulls out her sniper rifle to see the enemy marksman on top of the roof.
"Stupid woman," the man aims his rifle as Makoto rolls away to get out of the enemy line of sight. She looks over the corner and pulls back before getting hit with a bullet to the forehead.
"That was close," Makoto said as she sees the guy trying to reload. She rolls out in the open as she aims to fire a shot into the guy's head to see him slide down the roof to break his neck on the ground.
"Crap, we need to get to that door with the symbol on it but the tower's debris is blocking our route there," Leon said.
"Hey, get to my position. The path is around it," Ark said on the radio as he waves to them at a window.
"Okay, come on Leon," Makoto said as she rushes over to Ark to see more Colmillos rushing at her. Ark uses his scoped M1A to put in accurate shots to take out the incoming infected dogs letting Makoto inside the building.
"Come on buddy, I got you cover," Ark said as he looks through the scope of his M1A to put heavy rounds into the chests and heads of Ganados.
Leon is running while shooting his handgun at the remaining villagers. He leaps through the window with Makoto putting into rapid burst fire to kill off the remaining villagers within the town square.
"Looking in one piece handsome," Makoto said lightly.
"Thankfully I am not some dog's chew toy," Leon said as they go through the door to see if it got passed the debris from the tower. "Gee, crazy out here," he said to think these guys were able to pull off this ambush.
"They are pushing back against us. They are not going to make saving Ashley any easier," Ark said.
"Hey Ark, do you think Ashley is pretty?" Makoto teases him.
"I mean she is pretty I guess," Ark said lightly as Makoto laughs at this.
"Come on, you saw her in a photo. She has a very warm smile, she seems pretty nice," Makoto said.
"She got a nice body too, nice pair of knockers on her," Ark said as he remembers her orange sweater unable to hide her ample breasts.
"No arguing that," Leon said as Makoto protested this.
"Hey," Leon said.
"Don't worry, you are still better," Leon said as Makoto pokes him on the nose.
"Good answer mister," Makoto said as
"Let's go save your princess lover boy," Leon teased Ark as he hides his embarrassment.
"Hey, stop that," Ark said as they approached the door to use the insignia key to unlock the door allowing them inside. They are within some kind of worship-like area with rows of chairs and benches to see a weird cult symbol and a picture frame of the leader himself.
"Gee, this is so weird," Makoto said.
"Yeah pretty spooky in here," Leon said as they walked through the weird-looking area with fog appearing on the floor and different skulls on a table. There is one huge skull that catches the trio off guard.
"Holy crap," Ark said as they y are surprised by how huge the skull is compared to the human-sized ones.
"What does it belong to?" Makoto asked.
"I have a feeling we are going to find out sooner or later," Leon said as they find a piece of treasure on a table that was going to be offered at an altar. "Seems like a blood-red pendant, this can be useful to sell," Leon pockets this treasure away to use for later. They search around the area to find some supplies inside.
They managed to find some first-aid spray, ammo, and grenades. "Gee, what are doing with this stuff," Ark said as he reloads his gun. They exit the building to be near the Merchant's shop once again.
"Hello there stranger, seems like you got your friends back," the Merchant said.
"Yeah I did, thanks for the rifle. It helped," Leon said.
"So, this is the guy you were talking about before," Makoto said.
"Yeah, just your friendly neighbor salesmen trying to survive. Do you got anything to trade with?" he asked.
"You got anything worth it?" Leon asked.
"Well, I got this TMP and stock to go with it. I will even throw in a red dot sight for good measure," the Merchant said as Leon hands him the treasure for the shopkeeper is impressed with it. "Very nice, here you go," the Merchant puts the weapon together to present it to Leon.
"Thanks, this will be handy," Leon puts it into a spare second holster for another sidearm like a machine pistol or a magnum. He slips on the RDS on the top of the gun slipping it on the rails.
"Oh, extra tip. There is a church nearby where your princess is held up. Those Ganados are serious about guarding her," Merchant said.
"Thanks for the tip, keep safe out there," Leon said.
"Pleasant travels strangers," the merchant said as they go off to the church with Leon checking the machine pistol to see if it was in good condition with ammo of 9mm to spare.
"Pretty nice," Makoto said.
"Make sure to find treasures and we can get some goodies along the way," Leon said as he puts the shoulder stock onto his person to wield his new TMP.
They go through a gate that leads to the graveyard in front of the church where Ashley is taken hostage. "There it is," Ark said as they prepare their weapons to see a few villagers around the area.
"Time to take out a few bystanders and get our princess out of here," Makoto said as she aims her rifle to put a few rounds into the villagers. The others go towards them as Leon opens fire with his TMP to cut right through them with ease.
"Very handy for these situations," he said feeling comfortable using it as they go up to the church to open the gate to see the church is locked up tight. "Oh great," Leon said as he contacted Hunnigan on the comlink.
"What is your status Leon?' she asked.
"Well good news is we found the church where the target is," Leon said.
"That's great you guys," Hunnigan said.
"Bad news is that this place is locked up tight," Leon said.
'Gee Leon, did they teach you guys lockpicking in the academy," Hunnigan said lightly as Leon shrugs this off.
"Must have missed it on my day offs, anyway. We need to get some sort of key to unlock this gate. Must be in the lake area," Leon said.
"Well hop to it, we are this close Leon. Ashley needs you guys," Hunnigan said.
"Loud and clear. Leon out," he said as he cut off the radio. "Time to get to the lake area and see what we can find," Leon said as they go down the road to head for the lake area to find the key to unlock Ashley's freedom.
