Chapter 37: Cracking Through Akatsuki Defense

"It looks like there is a large cavern inside but..." Neji began watching as his Byakugan was activated doing his best to give us an inside advantage as he said, "I can't really see clearly on what's going on inside… it looks like there are several people in there though."

Naruto walked up to him shaking his shoulder saying frantically, "Gaara, what about Gaara Neji!"

"Give me a second I'm looking..." Neji replied pushing him off seeing his head move around then suddenly stop.

His eyes widened seeing his Byakugan deactivate making Naruto begin to shake him again saying, "Neji what is it?!"

"Naruto stop." Neji said putting his hand up seeing a worried look on Neji's face as Sakura said, "What did you see?"

"It's hard to explain in words..." Neji said clearly in distress as I stepped forward saying, "Then that means we are going to have to break through and see for ourselves."

I heard movement behind me as Guy did some back flips giving himself room then charged for the door as we all moved out of his way. Once his fist connected though the boulder didn't even crack seeing a barrier was laced around it.

Guy walked back over to us as Lee said, "What now Guy-sensei?"

"It seems we will have to remove the barrier before we can get into the cavern." Guy said as Tenten frowned saying, "How will we do that?"

"We just need to figure out what kind of barrier it is." Sakura said making me nod walking towards it saying, "Yea."

Putting my hand on it I heard Kakashi say, "I think it's a five-seal barrier, it's created by putting five seals with forbidden words written on it in different locations around the barrier's perimeter."

"So, the only way to get in is to remove the tags?" I asked seeing him nod replying, "They must be removed simultaneously at the same time."

"Well then where are the other tags?" Naruto questioned as Kakashi turned towards Neji saying, "Neji you should be able to find them with your Byakugan."

"Right." Neji said activating it seeing him look around before smirking saying, "I found them."

He began telling us each tags location as we all listened wanting to make sure we all remembered exactly where they were. Hearing that they all were far apart Sakura suggested we needed a signal to make sure we got them all at the same time seeing Guy reach into his pack.

He took out some wireless headphones telling us at the distance we'd be going they'd be perfect as we all nodded agreeing with the plan. It was decided that Guy's team would take care of the tags far away while our group stayed with the one in front of the cavern.

They all adjusted their radios while Kakashi handled the one for our team seeing Lee take a deep breath before yelling into the mic, "Can everyone hear me!"

Watching his team get their ears blasted out and at the same time Kakashi looked like he was ready to fall over making me smile shaking my head saying, "I think they can hear you just fine Lee."

"Right let's go team Guy." Guy said putting his hand out for his team to join him seeing Lee was the first to join in as Tenten joined to seeing there was now a stare down between Guy and Neji.

Looking between them eventually Neji was worn down as he joined their hands watching Guy smile triumphantly saying, "Now we go with the power of youth! Fight! Fight! Fight! And one more for emphasis Fight! Scatter!"

Quick as a flash they all disappeared in different directions as Naruto smiled saying, "So cool what amazing enthusiasm! Hey guys let's do it too."

Naruto put his hand out as Sakura crossed her arms turning away saying, "I'd rather die."

"Right..." Kakashi said with zero enthusiasm while Chiyo replied, "You're a fool."

Rolling my eyes, I put my hand over Naruto's smiling as I said, "Fight!"

He smiled back seeing Pakkun walk towards us saying, "Well I'm heading off too, there is no reason for me to be here too."

"Goodbye for now Pakkun." I said waving as he said, "Later Yuna-san."

He disappeared as Kakashi jumped up on the boulder next to the tag as he said, "Once we remove the tags Sakura you'll break through to the cavern. That will be our signal to go inside and rescue Gaara… Yuna you remember what we talked about?"

Looking up at Kakashi I saw his serious face as my eyes averted to Naruto, "Yes I understand."

"What is that Kakashi-sensei?" I asked looking at the piece of paper in front of him as he handed it to me saying, "This is a seal to suppress the power of a Jinchuriki temporarily."

"You mean like what's inside of Naruto?" I asked seeing him nod replying, "Yes, since you were present when the Akatsuki brought it up I felt it was best you knew about these too. It was one of the first things Jiraiya gave me upon his return."

"Why would we need to suppress Naruto's powers though, he's in control." I questioned seeing his eyes close saying, "There may be a day where Naruto's emotions become too great, and the Nine-tailed fox takes the opportunity to take control of his body. He could end up being a danger to not only himself but others around him especially using the fox's immense powers unknowingly."

"So, this will stop that from happening?" I asked looking at the paper seeing him nod replying, "Yes."

"But I don't understand why I need to know this?" I asked confused as he said, "Should a time ever arrive where we are being attacked and I am meant to protect you along with a team I need someone I can trust to take care of Naruto in case I'm unable to. You're the only other person that truly knows about what he can do."

Looking at the piece of paper I frowned, "I understand… you can count on me."

Putting my hand over my pouch I closed my eyes hoping that it wouldn't have to come to that as Kakashi nodded to me. He put his hand over the tag hearing him let us know the others were in position seeing Sakura tighten her glove.

Watching Kakashi rip off the tag Sakura ran towards the boulder with a yell seeing her fist connect as it began crumbling under her immense strength. Kakashi stood beside Naruto and I pointing in as we jumped in covering both exits looking ahead of me with widened eyes.

The short, strange man was the first I saw seeing a younger looking boy with long blond hair beside him as my eyes traveled down. Underneath the blond boy laid Gaara with his eyes closed and his skin deathly pale.

"Now which one of you is the Jinchuriki?" the blond one said with a smirk feeling the air beside me grow thick as Naruto began to growl in anger.

We were too late.
