Phase 9: Waterside Pt 1
The group moves forward to go down a path that is filled with barriers to hold them off. "Looks like they are defenses here too," Ark said as they see a few Ganados guarding the way. "Time to give them a fight," Ark slides behind cover to begin peppering them with bullets.
"Get them, don't let them near the Lake area," one of the Ganados said as one of them lit up a stick of TNT. Leon shoots the stick to make it explode taking out the group.
"That clears the way," Makoto said as they see a bridge which is heavily guard bridge with defenses and levels. "Oh boy, this is going to be rough. I am going to hang back here and support you guys with sniper fire," Makoto said as she pulls out her R700 to spot some targets already.
"Sounds like a plan, cover us," Leon said as Makoto nods her head.
"Oh trust, you covering you from behind is worth it," she said in a flirty tone.
"Maybe you can get close and you don't lose track," Leon said as Ark sighs at this.
"We need to cross this bridge filled with Ganados. We should be focused," Ark said.
"Oh, you want to get through this fast. Want to see the princess so badly?" Makoto teases him with Ark trying to hide his blush.
"We should get going," Ark ignores her to get ready to fight across the bridge.
"He is so bad at hiding it," Makoto said as she giggles at this.
"I mean it's pretty obvious, he always talks about how cute and sweet Ashley is when he sees her on TV," Leon said.
"I heard Ashley wanted to be away from the politics of her father to be able to do her college work in peace," Makoto said.
"Can't blame her, the fame can be overwhelming to people sometimes," Leon said as he pulls out his TMP to get ready to assault the bridge.
Ark and Leon get into position while Makoto is hanging back to see a few Ganados on the top level on the bridge. She fires her shots to take out a few enemies for the bridge is on alert.
"Time to get serious," Ark said as he pulls out his MAC-10 to pepper the incoming Ganados to stun them in place. Leon puts shots through their heads via his TMP to look through the red dot to place his burst shots into their villagers' heads.
"Gee, these machine pistols do come in handy," Leon said as he moves up to a house to sweep inside with his auto pistol to shoulder it tight against him to litter the infected with precision shots.
Makoto sees Ganados wielding flaming cocktails in their hands above to burn the house Leon is in. "Oh no you don't," Makoto said as she puts a single shot into the head of one of the Ganados to clip her head. She drops her flaming bottle to set the other infected on fire. "Crisp," she said as she puts another shot into a faraway target. "Babe, I just saved you from being turned into a boiling beefcake," she joked on the radio.
"Much thanks Mako," Leon said as he is grateful he got two good people who have his back in this chaos.
"No problem, always there to help you out," Makoto said as Ark comes in with his knife to stab a nearby enemy to toss him onto the ground. He rolls away from a charging Ganado as he peppers the enemy with bullets to kill him and knock him down.
"We are like fighting right now, no flirting," Ark said as he reloads his gun.
"Coming from the guy that has a huge crush on Ashley," Makoto teases him on the radio.
"Okay moving on," Ark said as he wants to focus on saving her with Makoto gigging at him.
"Gee, so easy to read Ark," Makoto said as she keeps up her overwatch duties for the two men are sweeping the bridge to clear out the enemy forces.
"Don't let them cross the bridge. They can't get the key to the church," a farmer said as Leon switches to his shotgun to blast away a few enemies to see fallen limbs and broken bodies scattered onto the wooden floor.
"Gee, it's getting breezy here," Leon said as the wind is kicking up bowing across the bridge.
"Yeah it's annoying but it feels nice," Ark said as Makoto managed to take out a nearby fire bottle-wielding Ganado setting herself on fire.
"Oh crap, there are some guys behind me," Makoto said as she gets behind a crate with a few Ganados trying to get to her. She switches to her burst pistol to start putting down gunfire at a rapid pace to knock them down pretty fast. "Goodness, that was close," Makoto said as she resumed her overwatch duties to protect Leon and Ark from cutting through the bridge.
"Okay, we are getting close to the exit as Leon tosses a grenade to blast a group of enemies to bloody bits. Ark shoves a Ganado to bash him into a wall to crush his skull with his boot. He goes for his scoped M1A rifle to begin taking out targets at longer ranges.
Leon is blasting away with his shotgun pumping out shells to tear away at the incoming enemies. Makoto manages to take out the last enemy in the area. "Good, seems like we have managed to take care of the rest of the filth here," Makoto said as Leon relaxes to reload his weapons.
"Well, we should check for supplies and ammo to then continue forward," Leon said as they look into the buildings to grab some things they can use.
Ark sees a medical spray to put it into his back bag. "This can come in handy," he said as he grabs boxes of ammo to slip out of the room.
"We cleared all the stuff here, let's keep going," Leon said as they head to the door to get out of the bridge area.
They go into a place that has a lot of mining operations with pieces of tall stone being craved and taken for a certain purpose. "Gee, I wonder who did all of this," Makoto said as they see a large hammer not made for a normal human being.
"Damn, this hammer is bigger than me," Ark said as the hammer is over 8 feet long and it seems to weigh over 500 pounds.
"Whoever wields I hope we don't meet with," Leon said as they go into a large circle filled with logs, equipment, houses, and a big wooden gate. They hear uneasy breathing on the other side of the big door which they don't dare to do.
"Let's that open that," Ark said.
"You are reading my mind. We need to get to the lake ASAP," Makoto said as they go down the path to soon enough to see the big wide lake in front of them.
"Wow, this place is huge," Leon said as they saw a dock nearby which has a small house and a boat docked there.
"That looks very small but it should be enough to fix three people in it," Makoto said as they go up to the boat with Leon seeing something in the distance.
"I will be going over that hill, I need to check out something," Leon said.
"Already we need to check to see if this boat is in good condition," Ark said as Leon runs up the hill nearby to use his binoculars to see on the lake two men in a boat dragging something into the water.
"Hey, it's that cop from before," Leon said as the two villagers drops the dead cop into the water to drive away to leave the corpse behind. Leon noticed something huge within the water and then leaped out of it eating the dead body and leaving no evidence behind.
"Gee, what the hell is that?" Makoto asked on the radio.
"Yeah seems like that's how they deal with the missing people here. Leaving no traces behind and it's guarding the lake blocking our path," Leon said as he put his binoculars away.
"Seems like the guardian of the lake. We need to take care of it before going after the key," Ark said as the duo checks the boat to see if it was out of gas.
"Oh great, we need to gas for this thing to move," Makoto said.
"Sounds like it," Ark said looking over at a sign to see it points to a fish farm nearby which has a gas-filling station.
"This is our next stop, let's get going," Leon said as they join back up to head down a tunnel that leads to the Fish Farm nearby.
"All this water reminds me of one of the first missions Leon send me on against Umbrella under the US government," Ark said.
"Yep, you were being scouted after what you did on Shenna Island. Taking out a Tyrant factory by yourself is a big deal," Leon said as they both remembered Ark's mission to get some data from an Umbrella owned ship in the middle of the ocean.
-Flashback Begins-
At the beginning of the year 1999, there is an Umbrella cargo ship in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean being guarded by mutant soldiers called Undertaker wielding LR-300 assault carbines and P90 SMGs.
Leon has sent Ark to gather information on the ship's cargo. "Well Ark, time to get into high gear," Leon said via the radio as the gunship is going under the hail of heavy rain.
"Just another day in the office," Ark said as he pulls out his sidearm which is a suppressed Glock 21 pistol to check the ammo to slip it into his hoister. He draws out his MP5 with rails on the barrel and a top mount. His MP5 was modified with a Holo sight, foregrip, and a suppresser along with a M4 Super 90 semi-auto shotgun sling on his back.
"Good luck, the gunship will provide support when needed," Leon said as the Mi-24 stands above on the side of the deck. Ark slides down the rope to land on the deck to pull out his SMG's retractable stock to shoot down the Undertakers operating the command room.
"Clear," Ark said as he slips through the door to see several Undertakers sleeping in their bunk beds. He puts single shots into each sleeping soldier still in their bed. "Sleep tight," Ark said as he clears out the command structure with swiftness and deadly silence.
"We got a problem. I lose contact with the command deck, check it out," the human officer said as the Undertakers go across the deck with Ark going behind a crate waiting for them to get close.
"Light out buddies," Ark said as he pops out and fires a burst of SMG fire seeing the enemy drop to the floor in their pools of blood. He goes across the deck carefully maneuvering through the environment with the thugs getting suspicious.
"Someone is out there, search for him now," the human commander said.
"Okay, the jig is up. Go on the offensive, Pilot. I am going forward to the other tower," Ark said on the radio.
"Of course, watch the fireworks," the pilot said as the friendly gunship is brightening the darkened sky as a hail of heavy fire cut down groups of mutant soldiers and human officers into piles of blood and guts.
Ark under the cover of the air support is firing his weapon at the bad guys dropping them like flies. He tosses a flashbang into the room letting out a big flash of light to blind his enemies. He leaps through the window to take them out as the rest of the Undertakers are coming onto the deck to fight the gunship with rocket launchers.
"Like shooting fish in a barrel," the pilot said as he unloads a massive number of bullets to kill off the rest of the enemy forces on deck.
"Ark, all hostiles are wiped out on the deck," the pilot said on the radio.
"That display was quite nice," Ark said on the radio as he gets to the tower to slip through the door with him switching to his shotgun. "I like to keep this for close encounters of the ugly kind that is," he joked to himself to see more Undertakers open fire.
"Don't let the agent near the holding area," the human commander said on the radio as an Undertaker tosses a flash grenade blinding him.
"Oh shit," Ark said as he quickly regains his sight as one of the Undertakers tackles him trying to drive a knife into his throat. "Oh no you don't," he kicks the mutant soldier off him and blasts him in the head with the M4 shotgun for blood and brain matter spreading onto the walls.
Ark swaps from his shotgun to his MP5 to let out deadly three-round bursts to cut through the torso of an Undertaker putting it down instantly.
"The storage area should be up ahead," Ark thought as he goes up to the door. He swings it open and Ark slips through the door to see a lot of blood splashed onto the walls with deep slashes in the worn metal.
"No wonder they don't want me getting near this door. Well, nothing I can do about it, I got to get the data and bust out of here," Ark said as he goes through the tight hallways to hear the groaning of a fallen human Umbrella officer laying on the ground to see his lower body ripped in half with his guts and blood scattered across the floor. "Poor bastard," he said feeling sympathy for him despite being an enemy.
"B.O.W.s, there were everywhere," the officer said as he dies soon after.
"Great, Leon. We got an outbreak of B.O.W.s in the lower decks," Ark said on the radio.
"Fantastic, you need to contain the situation and find the data," Leon said dryly as Ark goes further into the cargo ship's interior to see more dead bodies and blood lining against the walls.
"No stay away," a human commander is shooting his carbine but gets his head chopped off by a Hunter.
"Great," Ark said as he opens fire for the monster to bounce off the walls to avoid his gunfire to tackle Ark onto the wall. Hunter slices the MP5 in half with its claws with Ark rolling away gaining some distance as he draws out his Glock 21 to fire several shots.
Ark slides between the legs of the large reptiles by leaping onto Hunter's back. He drives his knife into its neck craving it out with blood pouring onto the open wound killing it instantly.
"I am okay, let's go get that data," Ark thought as he moves through the hallways to hear screams echo throughout the ship. "Zombie Dogs," Ark said as he sees multiple Cerberuses coming their way. Ark is blasting the dogs into her shotgun with blood and guts splashing onto the walls.
Ark takes his .45 pistol firing at the dogs to leap onto him knocking him onto the floor and trying to bite his neck. "Shit," Ark fires his pistol to knock off the last dog as he stomps onto the dog's head to bash it into bloody pieces.
He goes into a wide-open space to see tons of dead bodies all over the floor. Ark finds a Berserker which is a large mutant Gorilla to crave up a wounded soldier with its large fangs.
"Just our luck," Ark said as he fires their weapon for the bullets did very little damage. "Great," he said as the monster is charging at him swinging its huge arms to destroy some of the metal crates in its wake.
He runs away to shoot at it but the weapons are not effective. "I need heavier firepower," he said as he goes off to search for a weapon within the crates nearby.
Ark switches to his Striker to put in powerful shots to hit the tough hide stunning the monster. The BOW recovers to rush at Ark for him to duck under the large arms to stick a grenade onto the Berserker's body.
The grenade blast stuns it but not doing much damage as Ark finds a RPG-7 launcher. Ark fires the rocket to strike down the monster seeing blood and flesh scattered across the room.
"Nice save from this," Ark said as he tosses the launcher aside for him to continue into the ship's interior. He manages to find the server room where there is a console for him to work with.
"Bingo, this is what we need," Ark said as he begins to work on the keyboard to begin copying files into his memory stick. "I got to protect data transfer," he thought for he puts down a table against the door to make it a makeshift barrier.
He sees multiple Hunters and Cerberuses coming through the hallway. "Time to play," he tosses a flashbang for the grenade blinding the creatures as he drills precise shots from his M4 Super 90 into their skulls dropping them easily.
"Man, it's like a zoo out there," Ark said lightly blasting a leaping Cerberus to destroy its head for the body flops behind him. He blasts a Hunter in the guts with its insides pouring out of its open wound to drop to the floor.
Ark finishes downloading the data into a memory stick. "Leon, I manage to copy the shipment," Ark said on the radio.
"Good, bring it back safely. Be careful," Leon said as she cuts off the radio for Ark checks a nearby weapon crate to see an M60E3 LMG.
"My birthday came early," Ark said as there is a horde of zombie dogs coming their way. He aims and fires a hail of bullets to rip through the horde of enemies leaving piles of bodies within the hallway. He empties the machine gun to drop it on the floor for him to rush outside to see his ride waiting for Ark.
"Oh yeah, fresh air," Ark said as he drops a homing beacon. He sees their aircraft hovering nearby for him to get on board. "Mission complete Leon, I am going back to base," Ark said.
"Good work, at this rate. We can put the scum bags in Umbrella behind bars," Leon said as he looks at the memory stick.
"I wonder where this will take us next," Ark said.
"We will find out," Leon said on the radio as the gunship goes back to base.
-Flashback Ends-
"I hate those Undertakers," Ark remembered first fighting them on Shenna Island.
"Yeah, it's a good thing the data for them is lost during Umbrella takeout. Having a cloned mutant army would be a big problem for us," Makoto said as they arrived at the Fish Farm filled with platforms and houses with patrolling Ganados protecting the place with a big pond in the middle.
"Time to sweep this place and get that gas," Makoto is holding back to give him covering fire with Ark and Leon going through the pond to sneak around to silently take out Ganado with their knives. They hide their bodies under the water to continue forward.
"Peekaboo," Leon said as he grabs the villager's mouth to crave out his neck to kill him and drop him into the water.
"I see you," Ark said as he sliced the neck of the Ganado to take her out without alerting anyone.
"Good work guys, no one detected you yet," Makoto said as they is a Brute nearby wielding a large axe. "Oh boy, there is a big guy nearby. Watch out for him," she said on the radio.
"Noted," Ark said as the two men are getting closer to the shack where the gas is located.
Makoto sees a Ganado on a platform spotted them as she is about to toss a flaming bottle at them. "Shit," Makoto fires a bullet into the head of the woman to drop her dead. "You got company," Makoto is giving them covering fire with the Brute screaming at them.
"Gee, these whack jobs with the animal heads," Ark said as the two men dodge the incoming powerful swings of the Brute to put rounds into him but it doesn't slow him down.
The Brute roars at them like a wild beast trying to slice them in half but the two men keep their distance while trying to kill it. Leon tosses a grenade which stuns him with a close-range blast as Ark is shooting him several times in the face with his auto pistol.
"Gee this bastard is so stubborn," Leon said as they both roll away with Makoto putting big rounds into its chest to stun him. Leon noticed a trip bomb nearby as he nods to Ark. Both men come in and kick the big Brute towards the trip bomb. One more duo kick pushes the Brute onto the bomb which vaporizes him in a powerful blast.
"Goodness, that is over," Ark said as they cleared the area for the two men to head inside the cabin to see a red canister filled with gas.
"Perfect, time to get back to the boat and take on the guardian of the lake," Leon said as Ark finds an RPG-7 in a corner.
"Oh, this will come in handy for taking out that big boy in the lake," Ark said to sling it on his back.
"Yeah, hey Mako. We got the gas and rocket launcher to deal with that big fellow in the lake," Leon said on the radio.
"Good, we need to come up with a plan to deal with that thing so we can get the key to get Ashley. Your princess awaits Ark," Makoto said as Ark shakes off his blush.
"Enough, we should get going to deal with the lake monster," Ark said as Makoto enjoys teasing him for them to push forward to deal with the Lake Monster Del Lego.
