Phase 10: Waterside Pt 2
The trio got back to the dock to execute their plan. Leon will take the boat to distract the beast while Ark will use the RPG-7 to blast apart the beast when it's exposed. "We will be on the hill to oversee your battle, don't get killed out there," Ark said as Makoto goes to kiss Leon for luck.
"Be careful, baby. I want to keep you in one piece," Makoto said.
"I have faced worse, I will be back in a second," Leon goes onto the boat to go into the lake to draw the attention of Del Lago with Ark preparing the launcher which only has one shot to use.
"Well Leon needs to be a distraction to nail this fucker," Ark said.
"Please don't miss and not hit Leon," Makoto said sounding worried,
"I am a good shot," Ark said as Leon is driving across the water in the lake.
"Okay Geico, show your face," Leon is nervous and anxious waiting for something to happen. He noticed there is a bunch of harpoons that can be useful.
Something is swimming underneath Leon which Makoto can see with her binoculars. "Leon, under you," she said on the radio. Del Lago makes its move to leap out of the water to miss Leon but the boat's anchor hooks onto the skin of the beast to get pulled along.
"Looks like I am going on a joy ride," Leon thought as he can see the beast swimming to begin tossing harpoons at it to impale its skin making it scream in pain. "Gee, I need a good angle," Leon is trying to aim his shots but he misses his mark.
Del Lago tackles the boat to knock Leon into the water. "Oh shit," Leon said as he regains his balance to swim up to the surface.
"Leon behind you," Makoto shouted to be worried to see Del Lago swimming towards the agent.
"Time, not to pull my leg," Leon thought as he swims as fast as he can. He barely makes it as the mutant salamander emerges unable to eat Leon whole.
"Gee, this is stressful," Makoto said as Ark is preparing to open fire when the time comes.
Leon sees the beast trying to charge at him with him moving the boat to the side to dodge it. "Gee so many trees here," Leon said as he is weaving through broken trees floating in the water. He nails Del Lago with a few harpoons to see blood is beginning to leak into the water. "Tough son of a bitch," Leon thought as the beast leaps at Leon with him dodging its strike.
"Gee, Leon is like a boxer out there. Weaving and dodging while taking shots at that monster," Makoto said as she is always impressed with Leon's fighting prowess.
"Yeah, he is always like that," Ark said as the beast is getting closer to the hill they are on. Leon is dodging Del Lago's attacks while using the harpoons to do damage weakening it further. "Oh, they are getting by. Get some distance," Ark warned as Makoto nods her head to move into a safe distance.
"Alright, we are close to Ark," Leon thought as he is dodging the beast as he tosses the harpoon to weaken the mutant enough to slow it down. Ark gets a good shot to fire the rocket to impact the back of the monster to blow out a huge chunk of flesh causing the beast to scream in agony to be put down for good.
"Yes," Ark said as Makoto gives him a high five.
"Nice shot," Makoto said feeling happy they managed to kill the monster.
Del Lago is sinking to the bottom of the Lake as the rope attached to the anchor is rapidly getting pulled into the water but Leon's leg is trapped in it. The rope rubs into his leg causing him to scream in pain as he grabs his combat knife to begin slashing the rope.
With a few cuts, he frees himself to see a section of the lake filled with red. "Oh boy, that was close. We did it," Leon said as he gives his team a thumbs up.
He comes back to the dock with Makoto giving him a hug and a few kisses on the lips. "Gee, you were putting me on edge," she said.
"We managed like always. Now time to get the key," Leon said as the trio get onto the boat to begin driving across the lake.
"Gee, this lake is huge. I bet there is some treasure we can find and sell to that merchant guy," Makoto said.
"Worth a look," Ark said as they noticed a big boat stuck in the middle of the lake.
"That is spooky," Leon said as its half sank in the water and was exposed to the elements surrounded by broken tree branches.
"Yeah, let's check it out," Makoto said as they park the boat next to the broken ship. They step aboard to see they are a few crates there. They search for them to find some goodies there like gold ingots and a silver necklace. "Very pretty and looking pricy," Makoto said as they slip it into their backpacks.
"Yep, this gets us some good supplies," Leon said as they get back onto the boat to head off to see another dock nearby.
They get off the boat to feel weird as Leon is on his knees. "Baby, are you okay?" Makoto asked to fall onto the ground as well.
"What is going on here?" Ark wondered as he is feeling his body was on fire. They head over to a house for them to crash onto the floor to black out from the intense pain. Makoto dwells within her memories about her past in her hometown on the island of Haze before her life was changed forever by Umbrella.
-Flashback Begins-
On a cool spring day on the island of Haze off the west coast of the United States in 1999, 18-year-old student Makoto Suzuki along with her friends Gwen and Cindy are at an ice cream shop getting some good scoops.
"Man, too bad Jean can't get all this good stuff," Makoto said as they take their seats outside the shop to enjoy the good weather.
"Yeah, but my cousin went to South America to do some aid work. So, what can you do," Makoto said as she smiles at her delicious treat. "It's sad, we could have gone to the beach together this summer," Makoto said as she is licking her strawberry ice cream. "This is so good," she said as she eagerly licks the scoop with glee.
"Hey Makoto, watch it. You could get a…" Gwen warned but it was too late as Makoto is holding her head with a pained look on her face.
"Brain freeze," Makoto winced as Cindy sighed.
"You have to watch it," Cindy said.
"Sorry, it tasted so good. I couldn't help myself," Makoto said with a big grin on her face.
"So, gals, what do you want to do?" Gwen asked.
"Well, we should go to the library to pick up a book I wanted," Cindy said.
"Yawn," Gwen said.
"I want to go too. They got some Manga on stock I want to read," Makoto said.
"That's not fair, two against one," Gwen complained.
"Oh well, let's get moving," Cindy said as they walk up the street for a bunch of guys whistling to Makoto and checking her out.
"Got some guys on the side there, Makoto?" Gwen teased her.
"Oh no, those guys don't fit my image of my good guy. My prince charming," she said with the brunette having stars within her bright brown eyes.
"Well better keep searching. You don't want to end up with a jerk of a boyfriend," Cindy said as they reach the library to see the vast selection of books on display. "Okay, you two hang out while I look for the book," Cindy said.
"Alright, I am going to take a nap. You can go read some novels," Gwen said as she leaped onto a beanbag chair to take a short nap.
"Alright," Makoto said to see a long row of manga as she is filled with glee. "My goodness, this is like heaven," she said as she takes a book to look through a few pages. A nice guy appears to go over to check out the book she is reading.
"Hey there, what are you reading?" he asked as Makoto looks over to be blushing from his cute face.
"Damn he is hot," she thought as she regains her composure. "You need something?" she asked.
"I just wanted to talk with a pretty face like you. What is your name?" he asked.
"I am Makoto Suzuki," she said as the young man is about her age.
"Jack Smith. This is the number, give me a call sometime," Jack said as he walks away. Makoto is smitten by the handsome guy to go back to her friends.
"Hey, Makoto got my book. What's wrong Makoto, you look very flustered," Cindy asked.
"Oh, I met a guy," Makoto said.
"What guy?" she asked,
"His name is Jack; he was so nice and sweet. Handsome too," Makoto said as she gushes over her new crush as her eyes lit up with happiness.
"Is he a boy from our school?" Cindy asked.
"He seems to be 18/19ish but it seems like he doesn't go to our school. He seems so sweet and mature, knowing how to treat a lady," she said as her heart sings wanting to see him again. "I have his number on my phone," Makoto said showing it to Cindy.
"Alright, good luck with that. Get Gwen and let's go," Cindy said as Gwen is still asleep on the beanbag.
"Gwen, wake up," Makoto said shaking Gwen's shoulder and making her wake up.
"Oh man, what a nap. What did I miss?" Gwen asked.
"Makoto got herself a boyfriend," Cindy teases her as Makoto blushes in response.
"He is not my boyfriend, just a nice guy I just met," Makoto said. "I wouldn't mind if he is," Makoto thought thinking fondly of him.
"When did that happen?" she asked.
"When you were laying like a log," Cindy said as Gwen jumps to her feet.
"Watch it, Makoto, he may be some creep wanting to get into a schoolgirl's panties," Gwen said.
"Oh, I am 18 now. I wanted to date more mature guys anyway unlike the guys at school who seem to only care about my ass," Makoto said as Gwen stares at Makoto's big booty and wide hips compared to her small rear making her feel very envious.
"Some girls have all the luck," Gwen thought as she returns to reality. "Was he fresh to you Makoto?" Gwen asked showing concern.
"No, he is a sweetheart to me. I like him," Makoto said.
"Well don't do anything too soon," Gwen said as they head out of the library.
"Oh boy, it's getting late. Better get home, see you later," Cindy said as she goes off.
"I need to go too; I need to check my show. Bye Makoto," Gwen said to run off home with Makoto waving to her friends goodbye.
Makoto is walking back home with bags in hand as thoughts of her crush are floating in her head. "Oh Jack, so smooth and mysterious," she thought placing her hand on her chest to go to her house in the suburbs. She unlocks the door to see her father sitting on the couch playing his PlayStation 1 console on his big TV screen.
"Hey sweetheart," he said greeting his beloved daughter.
"Hey Dad, having fun with that?" she asked.
"Oh there, this fight in Mortal Kombat 2 is crazy," her dad said losing his fight and trying his hardest to win.
"How was school?" he asked.
"It was pretty good. Thanks, Dad," she said as he noticed the bags on her skinny arms.
"Find any good deals with your friends?" he asked.
"Yeah lots of stuff," Makoto said. "Hey Dad, can we go in the basement and you can help me practice my shooting?" she asked.
"Sure sweetheart; let me finish beating this," he said as Makoto goes into her room to drop her underwear and clothing to set them into their proper place.
She takes off her school uniform to only be in her white silk bra and white silk panties fitting her shapely pear figure as she looks over herself. "I bet I can woo Jack with my sexy curves unless those other boys," she thought. She rubs her hands on her broad hips feeling her smooth skin as she slips into a white nightgown that reaches above her knees and white furry cat slippers.
She goes back into the living room to see the news is on to see a reporter talking about weird disappearances through the months and Umbrella giving funds for more building projects. "Man, Umbrella owns this city along with this island. So many cover-ups," he said under his breath.
"Oh, you said something Dad?" he asked.
"Oh nothing, come on. Let's go in the basement," she said as she sees he got two pistols in his hands.
"Okay kiddo; let's see what you got," he said as they go into the spacious basement where there is a makeshift firing range. "Here you go," he said as he hands her a KP94 handgun.
"Okay," she said as her father sets up the targets with them moving and some standing still. Makoto is lining up her handgun to begin picking off targets with her a KP94 handgun.
He is seeing Makoto taking shots as he is giving her pointers for he also grabs her waist to adjust her stance. "Okay, you are becoming a real ace shooter," he said to see her nailing her shots.
"It must run in the family," she said in a lighthearted tone.
"Indeed, indeed I want you to have it when you graduate," he said as Makoto's brown eyes lit up with happiness.
"Dad?" she asked.
"Yep, when you are a woman on your own. You will need protection out there. You know Makoto, there is nothing better than a woman who knows how to wield a weapon. A truly empowered woman can protect herself and everything around her. The difference between being a sheep and a lioness is that pistol," he said pointing to her gun.
"I will keep that to my heart dad, you are the best," she said as she gives him a big hug.
"Thanks, sweetheart, I hope you become smart, pretty, and kind just like your mother," he said as also she has gotten her optimistic outlook from her mother as well which brings warmth to his heart that she lives through her daughter.
"I wish she was here," she said showing a sad smile.
"Me too dear, do some more shots," he said as Makoto is practicing more shots. He looks over to the corner to see himself, his wife, and 15 years old Makoto within a field of flowers. "I hope you find someone special and bring happiness to him just like your mother did with me," he said to see his last wife's warm smile which she passed on to her daughter.
Within an hour, she got into the shower to clean up and get into her nightgown to get into bed getting ready for another day of school tomorrow.
"Good night dear, I am going out. I will be back later," her dad said.
"Okay, be safe out there," she said as she goes to sleep.
The sun raises as Makoto wakes up from her slumber to stretch out her long limbs letting out a big yawn. "Oh man, I slept like a log," she said as she grabs her underwear and her uniform into the bathroom to quickly wash her hair and body.
She puts on her school clothing and boots to grab her messenger bag to get into the living room to not see her dad anywhere. "Dad, where are you?" she wondered as she goes into his bedroom to see he didn't get into bed at all. "That is very odd," she thought to feel a bit concerned.
She grabs the remote to turn on the TV to see it has grey static on the screen with none of the channels online.
"Wow, weird," she said. "Maybe Dad fell asleep in the basement, he was working hard as of late," she thought as she goes into the basement to hear a moaning down there. "Oh Dad, he might eat something bad," she thought as she goes down the stairs to see her dad moaning in the corner.
"Dad, are you okay? You didn't eat any bad burritos last night, did you?" she asked sounding worried to approach him as she taps him on the shoulder as he turns around to give her a painful fright. "Dad no, how did this happen?" she questioned as her tears were flowing from her eyes to see her father become a zombie.
Her father's vacant eyes look at her face with no emotion to try and grab her. "Dad stops no," she said with her mind swelling with emotions trying to get away from him. "He is a big guy, so I can't fight him but if I can get my gun," she thought looking at the gun rack to see it in the container.
She rolls away from her father who is blocking the way to the guns as she jumps onto a crate to go around her zombie father. She grabs her KP94 pistol and aims it at her father with tears coming down her face.
"Dad, I am so sorry," she said wishing her dad goodbye and firing her bullet into his head killing him instantly. Makoto's heart is pounding as her mind is racing to weep for her father's corpse.
"How did this happen," she said as she grabs some magazines and the picture off the wall of her family to put them in her bag to go upstairs to out the window to see a horde of zombies littering the streets which looks like a warzone.
"It's like Raccoon City all over again," she said as she grabs some supplies to hear more moaning outside. "Shit," Makoto said as she aims her KP94 to see zombies coming into her house. She is shooting them in the head as they are closing in on her.
"Can't stay here," she said as she shoots the window to leap out of it. She grabs a nearby gas canister to roll it by the house and shoot it letting out a fiery blast. The house is now on fire as the blaze and blast are drawing the zombie towards it letting her slip away.
"Dad, this is like a bad horror movie but it's real," she said as she is holding the photo of her family in her hand to place against her chest. "Dad, I will not let your death be in vain. I will survive for your and Mom's sake. I need to find the others and find a way off this rock," Makoto said as she puts the gun and photo into her skirt's pocket to run away seeking her friends within the area.
-Flashback Ends-
Makoto wakes up to be in a cabin where she sees her boyfriend Leon and friend Ark laying on the floor. "Yo guys, wake up," Makoto said as she shakes them both to get up to wake up. "Raise and shine sleeping beauties," she said lightly.
"Gee, that was one hell of a nap," Leon said to get back onto his feet with Ark following suit.
"What happened?" Ark asked.
"We blacked out at the same time?" Makoto wondered as they are hearing Hunnigan's voice on their comlink.
"Hey there, gee I was worried about you guys. You have been silent for over 6 hours," Hunnigan said as everyone is surprised by this.
"Seriously, we have been out for that long," Leon said as they check their stuff to see everything is in place.
"Yes, but you seem okay. What happened?" Hunnigan asked.
"Well, we all blacked out and fallen asleep," Ark said.
"We will be going towards the key and get back to the church," Leon said.
"Right, keep going. We are so close to saving her, I can taste it," Hunnigan said as they cut off the radio line.
"Gee, it's raining outside. I hope I don't catch a cold," Makoto said.
"That will be the less of your worries," Ark said as they go outside to feel the downpour coming down over the lake region to go into the forest down the dirt road. "This tall grass and trees are making me nervous," he said as Makoto looks sad.
"What's wrong Mako, looking pretty down?" Leon looks concerned.
"Leon, I was thinking about my time surviving in Haze. All my friends and family are dead due to our damn governor of the island. It makes me so mad," Makoto said.
"Hey, you did want you can but you survive to make a difference," Leon said as they together aided in the destruction of Umbrella who put destroyed Makoto's home of Haze.
"Yeah I know, it is just bring up some old feelings," Makoto said as they got close to a cave system. They see something against the glow of a fire torch as a Ganado approaches them.
"He is getting twitchy again," Leon said as they draw their weapons with the villager's head exploding to see flesh and bone twisted into a semi-head-like frame. "What the hell is this?" Leon wondered as he fires his Silver Ghost to shoot at it but it was not stopping it.
The unholy creature rushes at them swinging its bone blade from its head for them to roll away. Leon fires his shotgun to split the Ganado in half via the waist but the fleshy head is still trying to swing its bone blade.
Makoto comes in to use her tanto dagger to slice the fleshy tendril while Ark uses his M1A to blast the weird head apart to put it down. "Gee, this is nuts," Makoto said as they look down at the broken body to see weird tentacles moving inside the exposed chest cavity.
"Gee this Las Plagas is no joke. Infected the whole host, acting like a puppet for it," Leon said.
"Insane, they are just meat suits for the parasite," Makoto said as they continue forward to go into the caverns which have pools of water. "Oh boy the air is very moist here," she said as she whips up her short hair to pat it down.
"Better than getting socked out there," Ark said as they go through the caverns to see touches that light their path. "No need for flashlights to draw attention for us," Ark said approaching a gate to see there are two levers that are used to open it.
"Hey Ark, give me a hand with this," Leon said as they both begin opening the door to see a group of Ganados coming in across the lake in a boat to check out the area.
"Guys, we got company," Makoto said as the enemies step onto shore to search the area for the agents.
"This cavern must be connected to the lake," Ark said as Leon shakes his head.
"I have enough of that lake," Leon said as they open the gate to slip inside for the gate closes behind them. "No coming back there, good riddance," Leon said as he pulls out his Silver Ghost to prepare for a fight.
'I think we should stealth our way through here. Not waste ammo," Makoto pulls out her tanto blade with the guys following suit.
"Yeah, that works. Let's pick them off one by one," Leon said as they crouched down with him staring at her big butt hugging her pants. "Very nice," he thought as she noticed this.
"Watch it, honey. I don't need you distracted," Makoto said in a playful tone.
"It's your fault you look good in jeans," Leon flirted.
"Oh, keep watch from behind when you have the time," Makoto said as Ark makes a fake cough on the radio.
"Focus on the task at hand," Ark said.
"How about Ashley, you think she has a nice pair of boobs?" Makoto teases him.
"We should get going," Ark said as Makoto giggles at him.
"Oh Ark, I hope he gets his princess," Makoto said.
"Yeah he keeps talking about her," Leon said as they go up to the wandering Ganados to begin slitting their throats. One by one each of the enemies dies by the trio's blades with the enemies none the wiser.
Makoto covers the mouth to cut open the throat of the Ganado as she grabs the corpse to slowly place him down to avoid making any noises.
Leon takes out the last tone to see something weird. "A bunch of logos of their cult are here," Leon said.
"Something must be here to hold great importance. Could be the key we need to open that gate," Ark said.
"Yep, we are so close," Makoto said as they see a small opening they can crawl through. They slip through to be within a small area that has a shrine of sorts with a chest there.
Leon opens the chest to see a weird key that seems to match the style of the church's gate. "Good, we found it. Time to head back," Leon said.
"We can finally get Ashley and get out of here," Makoto said as they walk over to see a boat that leads back to the path of the Church. "Perfect," she said as they get onboard to drive off with them close to saving Ashley.
