Book 4
Siha: Rise of Rakhana
Part II
Casnar came home to a room full of streamers, balloons, and opened gifts revealing children's toys of the like a small child would handle and finesse. He glances at his omni-tool. He curses. "Jaspin's birthday!" Casnar had only to be mad at himself.
A drell, and yet he had forgotten his son's seventh birthday.
A woman enters from the joint arch between rooms. "Hey, baby," Braith greets him, moving without hesitation towards her first husband, "…where's a kiss." Casnar ducks his smooth crests and pecks her on the brow, then bends to kiss her neck more aggressively, making her laugh.
"Mamua?" A small head with sloped crests pokes into the kitchen, where there is the entry to the outside terrace over which Casnar arrived and came inside through, "…Papua!" he says with his strong, young voice, staring at his father returned and holding his mother in the foyer that is strewn with toys and festive decorations. Another figure comes through the archway and stops, his arm raising to rest his hand on the child's shoulder.
Ylyssus gently moves Jaspin aside, but keeps his hand on the young drell-child's sleeve corner, "…Welcome home, Casnar."
Braith smiles at her second husband, then takes Casnar's arm from her waist and leads him over to his son. Casnar kneels before his hiriwa ( heir ). "Happy birthday, Jaspin," Casnar grins, "…I've returned in time." Jaspin leaves from under the touch of his second father.
Taking a hold of his blood father's fingers, he looks up at the emeralds with his snow-grays, "…Papua, you have to come play." And he turns with another glance to see that he obeys him, leading his father from the foyer into the rest of the cottus. Braith looks at Ylyssus in a gold, white and green ba'tran, while also watching their son leave with Casnar.
Ylyssus turns his jade-tiger eyes to Braith's grays, "…You…" They tie together and kiss. His hands slide along her waist, over the loose silks covering her form. They come to rest on her rear, dipping his fingers under her buttocks.
"You think Jaspin knows he forgot his birthday again?"
Ylyssus looks into her eyes, "…They can spend the day together now," he says, brushing away her concern with his optimism, "…You and I may pick up where we left off…this morning in the bedroom…" He chuckles, leans, pressing palms firmer against her rear. Braith lowers her hands from his neck and tebris to his chest, feeling the strength underneath. No longer with the lumps of knotted scars.
She smiles and rises to kiss him.
