Three Way Battle!

"Battle of Sleepy Peak "

"Part One"

"David, we've got a problem here."

Gwen stopped her car at the barricades that had been set up at the bridge going into town, there was a large vehicle under a tarp sitting dead smack in the middle. From what Gwen could see there was nobody on the bridge.

David ground the tank to a stop just behind Gwen's car, Max getting a hold of the paintball machine gun to cover the bridge.

"Plow Right Through Em' David!"

Nikki shouted, popping up over David's shoulder, her face painted like an Indian warrior.

"Nikki you know I can't do that..."

David scratched his head as he dismounted the tank, walking over to the barricades to get a closer look. "Gwen, is there another way into town?"

Gwen fixed her co-counselor with a stare.

"You would know if there was David, the only way in would be to ford the river." She pointed down to the relatively calm river below them.

"On it."

Quartermaster popped up from the drivers hatch, and the tank rumbled backwards under his control. Max grinned, clapping the old man on the shoulder. "Just don't drown us creep."

"Will do."

Somehow Q.M managed to skid the tank down the bank into the river without any of the kids falling off.

He started across, the tank easily churning through the water until something on the far bank started shooting at them!

"Light Em' UP!"

Max let out a startled yell as he hammered the trigger of his machine gun, sending lime green paint dashing across the rocks on the far bank. Plastic bb's glanced off the tank, the campers trying their best to avoid getting shot.

"Go."

Quartermaster lifted the Platypus from where it was sitting by his feet, letting the perpetually angry creature jump into the river. He continued driving, keeping his foot on the gas even when bb's threatened to take out his good eye.

"Focus Your Fire! We Are Going To Blow That Monster Out Of The Water!"

Tabii stood up from where she was carefully hidden under a tarp they'd painted to look like rocks. She remembered the Platypus well, the wretched thing had bitten her ankle and ate her new ankle bracelet!

Standing up wasn't the best idea however, since it gave Max a much clearer target to shoot at, Tabii went down in a hail of green paint. Sasha grabbed Tabii's collar, dragging her friend up the bank, ditching her own concealed position.

Max angled his gun to blast Sasha too, but discovered he was out of ammo.

"Damn It!"

The tank crunched up the rocky bank after the girls, Quartermaster stopping only after making sure they were up on the road proper.

"Everybody off."

The campers hopped off the tank, each armed with a backpack full of delicious chocolate bars, Neil helping Max unhook the machine gun from its mount so he could carry it. The town surprisingly had a paintball store where they could reload the thing.

Gwen and David had crossed the bridge on foot, nobody had shot at them, but Gwen felt like they were being watched. She cast a wary gaze around, stopping when she spotted something on one of the roofs.

"Kids get-!"

She never got to finish as a water balloon full of spoiled milk exploded in the street amidst them.

"It's In My Eyes!"

David shouted in panic, running off like a true coward.

Gwen grit her teeth, mopping a sheen of what used to be quality cow juice from her face.

"This means...war."

She stormed over to Max, who was crouched behind Neil, having used the taller boy as a human shield.

"Satan, come with me."

Max cast a look back at his friends as Gwen literally dragged him down the street.

"Help..?"

Pikeman was watching the whole thing through high-powered binoculars from several roofs over. It had been Jermy who'd launched the milk bomb from another rooftop, he'd only had the one balloon, Petrol was still setting up their catapult to combat the tank.

"I can handle Gwendolyn..."

Pikeman laughed evily despite his horrible acne, slinging the binocs back around his neck as he descended the ladder to the street. He fished a slingshot from his gear bag, starting to stalk in the direction his dear Gwen went.

Snake was in charge of heading off the rest of them, he was armed with a water cannon fed by a backpack full of more spoiled milk. He crouched down as the bulk of the Campbell Campers passed by, all of them missing him standing in the darkness of an alley.

"Listen you little shit, i need for this chocolate bar thing to go off without a hitch, that's why I'm giving you this credit card." Gwen held a black rectangle of plastic out to Max, who just stared.

"Buy as many paintball guns as you can carry, I have to get back before David gets murdered somehow."

Max's smile could have incinerated the surface of a planet it was so bright.
