Chapter 50: Years and Years

"What movie should we watch guys?" Ash looked at the list of films currently showing.

"Should we watch a horror movie or a romantic movie?" May nudged at Hilda, consenting with her in order for Hilda to think which flick would favor her.

"I'm going with an action film, what about you Hilbert?" Ash smiled at his Unova friend.

"I was thinking we could also watch a comedy," Hilbert suggested. Ash gave him a nod but there decisions would soon be shot down.

"Hold it!" May caught their attention.

"Yeah?" Ash and Hilbert questioned simultaneously.

"Hilda and I deserve a say in this too. Besides Ash, just because we're with other people doesn't mean I stop being your girlfriend," May placed her hands on her hips. Ash could only laugh nervously as his girlfriend seemed a bit annoyed. The brunette crossed her arms and sighed, "Hilda and I want to watch a romantic movie."

"That's right, we had that one in mind," Hilda pointed at the poster of the film they had chosen.

Ash and Hilbert felt a chill run down their spines when they saw the poster of the movie. A blond-haired princess stared charmingly while a man and his horse towered just behind her. "That one?" Ash gulped, immediately getting a bad feeling.

"Hey that movie isn't solely about love," Hilda sassily crossed her arms.

"That's right it has some comedy and action too," May raised her finger as she pointed out other elements of the film they had chosen.

"But but," Hilbert scratched his cheek, uncertain about how to counter the girl's decision.

"But May…we were hoping to watch the one about the robots and the extinct Pokémon," Ash tried to argue with the brunette, although he spoke softly.

"Oh please Ashy, you don't how much it'd mean to me if we watch this film," May clasped her hands together as she tried to fake tears.

"May I…" Ash began to sweat a bit as he felt his heart slowly succumb to May's puppy face.

"Please Ash, I promise the next time we go on a date you will get to choose what we do. Could we watch the movie, pretty please…with a cherry on top sweetie," May got her eyes closer to Ash's so he could look deep into them and fall.

"Oh May," Ash rolled his eyes and sighed. "Fine, we'll watch the romantic movie," the raven-haired boy gave in.

"Hooray!" May spread her arms happily. She placed her hands on Ash's cheeks and planted a kiss on his lips. After a moment she let go, "You're the most incredible boyfriend ever Ash Ketchum! I'll go buy the tickets right now!" With that said the coordinator skipped to the line, leaving Ash blushing out of embarrassment.

"Ash, what just happened?" Hilbert raised an eyebrow.

"Love?" Ash tried to excuse himself as he chuckled uneasily.

Hilda giggled as the two boys exchanged looks. She looked to the line and meet eyes with May. The sapphire-eyed girl winked at Hilda as she walked forward; the Unova coordinator easily knew one of the motives behind May's insistence to watch the romantic flick.

May turned her attention to the line. When she saw that the person in front of her had finished paying she stepped forward. "Next," the young man said but saw that it was pointless as May skipped over to him.

"Hi, could I get four tickets for the movie 'Knotted'?" May asked, thinking of the bizarre movie title for a moment, but then she focused her mind back on what was going on. "Excuse me, could you also have the two pairs of seats apart from each other. I'm trying to get a friend of mine with another friend and I know she'll want to be alone with him, it's really exciting," May giggled as she took out the money to pay.

"Sure," the man said with an "I could care less" attitude as he handed her the tickets May requested.

The coordinator looked over the tickets then nodded cheerfully. "Perfect, thank you!" May cheered as she ran off.

May skipped joyfully over to her friends with the four tickets. She could tell that Ash and Hilbert were still disappointed over the movie they had chosen, but May trusted her instincts and knew that they would end up enjoying it more than they think. "Got the tickets," May showed them with a grin.

"Awesome May," Ash received the tickets from the girl.

"We should probably go inside now, the movie is going to start soon," Hilbert looked at the time marked on the ticket.

"First things first," May raised her finger, confusing them.

"What's up May?" Ash raised an eyebrow.

"Snacks!" the sapphire-eyed girl winked at them, causing Ash to smile while Hilbert and Hilda seemed less enthusiastic.

"Right, what good is a movie if you don't have popcorn?" Ash made a fist as he grinned eagerly.

The cashier registered Ash and May's requests as fast as he could as he nodded anxiously. "We'll also have the jumbo chocolate bar with some Twizzlers," May looked at the array of candy they had.

"And some sour gummy worms with the giant gummy bear," Ash pointed at the gummy candy next to the chocolates.

"Mmmmhmmm," the cashier was sweating as he registered the requests into the machine.

"Aaaaaand…" Ash and May wondered at the same with their fingers placed on their chins.

"Hilbert, how long are we going to be here. The movie will be over by the time Ash and May get all their snacks," Hilda began to eat some of her popcorn out of impatience.

"I get what you mean. Iris and Cilan weren't kidding when they said Ash and May love food," Hilbert ate some of Hilda's popcorn as he felt pity for the cashier tending to Ash and May's desires.

"Is the cotton candy a bonus if we buy the jawbreaker lollipop?" May asked the man.

"Oh come on, can you just order what you need please! We have some kids who are anxious to catch a movie!" a man pleaded as he grew impatient.

"Huh?" Ash turned when he heard the man.

May turned a second later and her eyes widened along with Ash's when they saw the long line of people who almost led to the entrance of the movie theatre. They quickly turned back to the cashier as they laughed. "You know want we'll just have some Skittles, two medium-sized sodas and a big bag of popcorn," Ash scratched the back of his head.

"And just a Hershey bar," May quickly added as she scratched her cheek, trying to laugh off the embarrassing situation they were in.

"Right away," the cashier sighed as he got others to fetch him the things Ash and May requested.

"About time," Hilda said with relief as she and Hilbert sighed at the same time.

It wasn't long before Ash and May finally got their snacks, much to the delight of everyone. The couple began eating from their bag of popcorn as they walked over to Hilda and Hilbert, "Shall we get going?" May inquired while grinning sheepishly.

"Sorry we took so long," Ash apologized.

"No worries, the movie doesn't start for another minute," Hilbert grinned at them as they started to walk to the room where their movie would show.

"If you had taken an hour and a half to get your snacks then it would have been a problem. The movie would have ended by then," Hilda giggled, causing the others to laugh with her as well.

It was fairly simple to find the room where there movie was showing. When they entered they became relieved to discover that they were only showing previews and the room wasn't as crowded as they had expected.

"Here you go guys," Ash handed Hilbert and Hilda their tickets when they saw the man in charge of receiving moviegoers, walking over to them.

"Thanks," Hilbert said as he and Hilda received their tickets. After closer examination he looked at Ash and May's tickets, surprising Ash for a moment.

"Something wrong Hilbert?" May questioned.

"Yeah actually, it looks like we've been seated separately. 13J and 13K are on one side of the room while 23N and 23O are across the room," Hilbert pointed out.

"That's odd, why would we get split like that?" Ash examined Hilbert's ticket as well, raising an eyebrow.

"Well they didn't have a row of four empty seats, so that was the best they could give us," May explained to the boys.

"Oh, I get it," Ash understood as he kept staring at Hilbert's ticket.

"Well that's a shame," Hilbert began to feel a little uneasy as the idea of him and Hilda being alone in a dark room sank in. His eyes would not move away from the ticket.

"Hopefully next time we won't have the same bad luck," May winked at Hilda, who blushed a little but managed to hide it will in the darkness.

"Hilbert, we'll sit together right?" Hilda mustered the strength to ask her crush.

Hilbert's face began to heat up a bit when Hilda questioned him. "Ummmm yeah uuuh sure, we can't have Ash and May apart from each other, so we'll sit together," Hilbert laughed as he got more and more butterflies in his stomach.

"Then we'll see you guys when the movie ends. Come on Ash," May grabbed Ash by the hand as they handed the man in the movie theatre their tickets.

"Right, let's go Hilbert," Hilda handed her and Hilbert's tickets to another man who had appeared.

Hilbert took a glimpse at Ash as a cry for help, but when Ash made eye contact with him he only nodded. As the pairs split up through the room, Hilbert sighed as he followed Hilda. He remembered Ash's advice about being himself and all the other stuff he discussed. He figured now was the time to put that advice to use. "Ok then," Hilbert looked up at Hilda for a second as they reached their seats.

Ash and May sat across the other side of the room. They carefully placed their things where they belonged, including the sodas. Ash sat down quietly as he tried to spot Hilbert from across the room, but it was just too dark, I wonder how Hilbert will do.

"May, are you sure there were no more seats so the four of us could sit together?" Ash inquired, concerned for Hilbert and how he must feel around Hilda, after all it was not so long ago when Ash had been in a similar situation.

"That's what the guy at the ticket booth said Ash, plus I'm positive I saw no spots for the four of us to sit together," May assured the boy.

"Oh," Ash answered plainly.

"Now just relax and get comfy next to me," May smiled as she lifted the arm rest on Ash's chair and snuggled up against him.

"Alright," Ash let out a deep breath then smiled. He opened the bag of Skittles he had requested and began digging for the green piece of candy, which was his favorite.

"Hey Ash," May's voice called him.

"Yeah Ma-," Ash turned to her, but before he could finish his sentence a straw wrapper hit in him in the face and stuck on his lips, preventing him from finishing his response. May began to snicker mischievously while Ash tried to understand what just happened. He blew the paper out of his lips with an odd lip sound as he shook his head out of frustration, "What was that for May?" he asked as he tried to get rid of the taste of paper from his tongue.

May giggled mischievously and placed her hand on her cheek. "I just always wanted to do that and I couldn't resist anymore," May tried to contain her giggles.

Ash sighed at his girlfriend's childish act, "Ok May, but we have to behave ourselves. We aren't the only ones in the room."

"Ok Ash, I'll behave," May winked at him and then giggled.

May inserted her straw into the soda cup then leaned back on her chair. She sucked it on it for a few seconds until she felt something rest on the head of her chair. "Hey what gives?" May turned around to see who had been responsible. Behind her she spotted a man dressed like a hiker except for the backpack. He seemed relaxed in his seat with no consideration for the incommodity he gave May.

"What's wrong May?" Ash quickly focused his attention from the previews to his girlfriend.

"This guy just placed his feet on my seat," May frowned at the man.

Ash's eyes shifted to the man. The raven-haired boy stood up and spoke politely, "Excuse me sir, could you please put your feet down. It's really bothering my girlfriend."

"Suck it up," the man told Ash to take a hike and sucked on his beverage.

"Hey that's rude, why can't you sit properly like a regular person," May became annoyed as she stood up from her seat.

"You know, we wouldn't be having this problem if you just stopped whining," the man stood up. His height alarmed the couple for a second since he was taller than Ash by two heads, but then they quickly regained their composure.

Ash glared at the man, not intimidated by his height, "Could you at least do me the favor of talking to my girlfriend politely."

"The answer is no pipsqueak; I ain't come here to respect some random dame and her boyfriend. I came to watch a movie," the burly man crossed his arms.

"Dame?" May raised an eyebrow.

"Hey, May and I demand respect and for your information we wouldn't be having this problem if you had kept your feet on the ground," Ash glared at the man as he made a fist.

"Just because your dame gives you nightly satisfaction doesn't mean I have to respect her you shrimp," the rude man glared at Ash.

May's grew with embarrassment while Ash began to clench his fist, "Take that back, I love my girlfriend and I just won't allow guys like you to walk all over her or us!"

"You wanna take this out back Romeo?" the man made a fist.

Ash cursed his luck for not bringing one of his Pokémon but got tempted to give the man a piece of his mind even if the man seemed significantly stronger. "You better get your act together before you're thrown out of here bub," Ash placed his foot on his seat as he leaned closer to the man.

The man looked deep into Ash's eyes. He let out a growl then turned around, "I don't need this garbage. I'm outta here; I didn't come to argue with some street dame and her whipped boy toy." With that the man left, grabbing attention from everyone else nearby.

Ash prepared to jump over to the man's lane to teach him a lesson until he felt someone restrain him. "Ash, don't. It's not worth it," May told the boy with a soft smile as she held him by the wrist.

"May, that guy just insulted the person I love the most. How could I just let him go?" Ash looked at her with sad eyes while he still felt the urge to run after the man.

"Just settle down Ash, I'm fine. He didn't hurt me or anything, you don't have to worry about him anyway because he's gone now," May spoke to him with a soft tone.

"How can people be rude enough to insult strangers like that? We have never seen the guy before and he just called us out," Ash eyed the exit where the man had walked out of.

"Some people are just not raised with values and morals, but we can't let it get to us. We can't fall to their level because we would become no better than they are. Succumbing to that kind of attitude is worse than anything. Don't let your anger or pride get to you Ash, I'm not the kind of girl who would force you to have a fight with another person just to make you prove how much you care about me," May eased her grip on Ash.

Ash looked at her and then turned to the exit. His eyes returned back to May. "Sit down and enjoy the movie with me Ash. I want to snuggle up against the boy who has an undying love for his Pokémon and his girlfriend. Let's enjoy the film together and forget this all happened, please Ash," May let go of his wrist.

Ash exchanged a tender gaze with May followed by a sigh, "Let's enjoy the movie." May smiled then leaned to peck him on the lips as some people silently cheered and clapped for them, realizing they had created a scene. Ash and May sat back down as May rested up against him. They began to eat their snacks together while their heads rested together. Once again their loved showed a greater sign of strength as the lights dimmed out entirely and the movie started to show.

The movie began with an introduction of the man they had seen on the poster of the film. He was riding a Rapidash and narrated his introduction while he got chased by several knights. As the scene progressed, Hilda and Hilbert reached for the popcorn bag in the middle.

Hilbert didn't seem as entertained as Hilda and appeared more interesting in enjoying the popcorn. Suddenly as their hands got closer they felt their skins touch. The contact instantly alarmed Hilbert as he pulled as hand back immediately. "Sorry," Hilda apologized to him as she held her hand, beginning to feel her face heat up.

"It's ok, you can have some popcorn first," Hilbert followed the "ladies first" rule as he felt his face become red.

"Thanks Hilbert," Hilda chuckled a bit nervously as she got a handful of popcorn and ate each piece individually. Hilbert then proceeded to have his share, but his attention got caught by Hilda, "Hilbert…"

"Yeah Hilda?" the brunette boy questioned her.

"I'm sorry for making you watch a romantic film. I promise the next time we go to a movie theatre we'll watch an action or comedy movie or whatever you like," Hilda apologized to the Unova boy.

Hilbert blushed a bit in the darkness and replied, "It's really not as bad as I thought it would be. Thanks though."

"No problem," Hilda beamed at him through the darkness.

"Candy?" Hilbert offered the girl some M&Ms, which the brunette happily accepted and the pair returned to enjoying the flick.

By the time the film had progressed halfway, May had her arms around Ash and was resting peacefully on him. The brunette looked up to see Ash watching the film with captivation, I knew he'd get interested in it; boys are just stubborn, May thought and giggled.

"What are you giggling about May?" May's giggling had lured Ash's attention away from the movie.

"Nothing, just a funny memory," the girl responded, receiving a nod from him and then he returned to watching the movie.

May watched the movie as well. They were currently showing a scene where the princess, who somehow knew martial arts, was trying to fight off what appeared to be some goblins, but they were cornering her and suddenly the male protagonist arrived at the scene by accident. Noticing that the princess seemed to be in some short of trouble, he volunteered to help her in the trouble she was facing. The scene immediately reminded May of what happened just before the movie had started, how Ash had felt after a stranger insulted her. She would have never imagined him to be so dedicated to looking after her and he was so willing to fight a man almost so much bigger than him, it amazed and frightened her at the same time. In the end though, May knew Ash had only done it out of his love for her and if he had to take a life risk to secure her well-being, he would take it.

"Ash?" May inquired.

"Yeah May?" Ash looked at her with his usual grin.

"Thank you for being the boyfriend that you are. The way you handled everything earlier, from standing up for me to keeping your cool, I'm proud of you. You don't know how horrible I would have felt to see you get hurt, especially because of me. You're so important to me and I love you too much to see you take risks like the one you were going to take before," May spoke to him.

"I'm always going to stick for you May and I'll always defend you. You're my friend, you're my girlfriend, you're the one that I love and I'll do anything for you, especially if the request comes from you. Your well-being is more valuable to me than any other thing on this earth," Ash placed his hand on her shoulder and squeezed her.

"Just don't let your anger or hastiness get to you. Your well-being is just as important to me as mine is to you," May nuzzled in his chest.

Ash sighed and smiled, "I won't."

"Seeing you get hurt or doing something rash and then getting hurt will hurt me, please understand that Ash," May said as she hid her face in his chest.

"I do May and I promise I'll always be considerate about it. Your feelings mean everything to me," Ash laid May's worries to rest and kissed her head.

"Thanks again for being such a loving boyfriend," May raised her head and placed her hands on his cheeks.

She pulled his face close while Ash gave zero resistance. The two locked lips and exchanged a passionate kiss. Ash ran his fingers through her beautiful brown hair while she grabbed onto his messy raven hair. The two allowed their tongues to explore their mouths and even tangled them together. May let out a slight moan and tried not to giggle as Ash's tongue tickled her, but the two refused to separate.

Unfortunately for them, their full-on make out session got cut short by a woman. "Psst, excuse me could you please stop. There are kids who came to watch this movie," the woman spoke to them from the row in front of them.

The pair separated immediately and started to blush a heavy red. Ash and May apologized for their lack of consideration and quickly returned to their previous position and watched the movie with pleased looks on their faces.

Ash and May weren't the only ones enjoying themselves. On the other side of the room Hilda ended up lying on Hilbert's shoulder due to "complaints" of a neck pain. Hilbert didn't hesitate to let her rest on him, but he had gotten increasingly nervous while he felt Hilda's head touch his shoulder.

Don't twitch; don't sweat, whatever happens don't let this moment go to waste, Hilbert repeated in his mind while trying to focus on the movie.

Should I? What if I scare him, what if it's too risky, what will I do? No, I can't scare myself away I have to remember everything May told me! Here goes nothing, Hilda thought determinedly. She slowly motioned her hand towards Hilbert and could feel herself sweat out of nervousness. At one moment she halted, but encouraged herself to keep going.

Hilbert felt something touch his hand then much to his surprise he saw Hilda's hand making contact with his. He controlled himself in an effort to avoid losing his cool and acted like nothing happened. As Hilda's hand positioned over his, the boy turned his hand over so their fingers could intertwine. With Ash's advice ringing in his head, he clutched Hilda's hand with their fingers now completely intertwined.

Both were amazed by each other's advancements, but what amazed them even more was the sensation they were both experiencing. The last time Hilbert and Hilda recalled ever holding hands like this was when they were children and pretended they were a married couple. Now years later there was actual chemistry between the two and history was repeating itself, but neither said something simply because they refused to spoil the moment. After some time while still holding onto Hilbert's hand, Hilda tried to drink some of her soda only to discover that she had none left.

She tried to find any form of soda in her cup, but the only thing she caused was noise as she sucked on the straw. Then to her surprise, Hilbert reached his hand out with something in his hand. "Here Hilda, have my soda," Hilbert grinned at her as he held the drink.

"But Hilbert, that's yours. Won't you get thirsty, if you give me that soda I'll probably finish it," Hilda got caught off guard by the boy's action and admitted shyly over her extreme thirst.

"It's alright; you probably need it more than I do. Don't worry about me Hilda, really," Hilbert insisted.

"Well…ok. Thank you Hilbert, you're sweet," Hilda smiled sheepishly at him as she received the soda. The two began to blush intensely, but thanks to the darkness it was kept hidden.

"You're welcome Hilda, it wasn't a problem," Hilbert grinned sheepishly as well and the two returned their attention to the movie with their hands still stuck together.

"That movie was actually pretty good. It wasn't like the romantic movies my mom normally watches," Ash chuckled as he held May's hand.

"I still can't believe she managed to revive him with tears. That was the most romantic part ever," Hilda clasped her hands together.

"That was my favorite part too," May smiled as she thought about how some time ago she and Ash had gone through a similar experience.

"It even had some funny jokes and action scenes that made it better," Hilbert recalled what he saw of the movie.

"I know right!" Hilda said cheerfully, but as soon as her eyes met Hilbert's they began to blush and looked away from each other.

Ash and May could tell something was going between the two since the moment they stepped out of the room and from the looks of it, it seemed like something really special had happened.

The group of four stepped out of the movie theatre and onto one of the busy Castelia streets. Night was taking over and many people looked like they were preparing for their night jobs or returning to their homes.

"I guess we should head back to the Pokémon Center," Hilda suggested.

"Yep, it is getting late," May agreed.

"Actually guys, I was hoping to take May to one more place before calling it a night. Don't take it personally, but I would like for it to be just us two," the auburn-eyed teen said with the most friendly tone as possible.

May got caught by surprise, "Ash you want to go somewhere else? Where?" the girl became curious as to what her boyfriend had in mind.

"You'll have to wait and see," Ash smiled mischievously, making May all the more curious.

"Alright Ash, we understand that you two want to make out somewhere. We'll leave you alone," Hilda teased the boy and giggled, making Ash blush slightly.

Hilbert quickly intervened with a better statement, "What Hilda means to say Ash, is that we're fine with you guys going off. Hilda and I will catch you guys at the Pokémon Center." The brunette boy turned to the Unova girl with a smile. Hilda nodded happily. The Unova pair had just found another opportunity to bond a bit more.

"Thanks guys, we really appreciate it," Ash smiled at them.

"I'd appreciate it more if you told me what this surprise is," May pouted cutely only to have Ash chuckle.

"We'll see you guys," Hilda and Hilbert mobilized.

"See ya later guys, if you don't mind, tell Victini and Pikachu that we'll be a little late," Ash waved goodbye to Hilbert and Hilda as they began to leave. Hilbert happily accepted Ash's task as they continued waving.

"Catch you two later!" May waved at them as well until the Unova pair disappeared in the crowd of people.

Once they were gone May turned to Ash with her hands on her hips. "So Mr. Ash Ketchum, what exactly do you have planned for me?" May asked with a sassy tone.

"May do you mind if I take off your bandana?" Ash inquired.

"I guess not…but what for Ash?" May raised an eyebrow.

"Just wait and see," Ash walked behind her then began to untie the white knot.

May could feel the breeze brush the top of her hair once Ash removed her bandana. However, her curiosity grew greater when her vision went dark. "Ash, are you using my bandana as a blindfold?"

"Pretty much," Ash laughed.

"This is getting weirder by the minute," May said to him.

"It'll be worth it, trust me. Now I just need you to start walking, I'll guide you so you don't have to worry about bumping to anyone or anything," Ash said to the girl.

"If you say so," May sighed.

Ash placed his hands on her shoulders as they walked. May felt a little uneasy not being able to see anything, but she trusted Ash's guidance. What on earth is he planning? May asked herself repeatedly as Ash excused himself after nearly bumping into several people.

The sounds of the cars honking, people talking, children yelling, and Pokémon wandering began to lower as they wandered off somewhere. "What's happening Ash?" May inquired.

"Just stand still," Ash told the girl as they suddenly stopped.

May did as Ash said. She stood there for a few seconds. Then she felt a hand or more like arm touch her legs. "What's going on?" May asked, but got no response.

Suddenly, she felt another arm get placed on her back. "Ash?" May became a bit scared that she got no response. All of a sudden, she got swooped off her feet, starling her. "Ash, what's going?!" May yelled as she prepared to fight back.

"It's ok May, I'm here," Ash spoke to her once again.

May let out a sigh of relief when she heard his voice, but her sassy attitude quickly took charge, "Ash what on earth are you doing?"

"See for yourself," Ash said as May felt herself get placed down. She felt a gentle wind clash with her face and her hair flapped elegantly with the motion of the wind. The brunette could feel Ash untie the bandana and when she was finally able to see, what she saw astounded her, and frightened her.

May gasped and clung back onto Ash with her eyes wide, "Ash are we…?" the girl didn't know if she dared to look down.

Ash chuckled as he held May in his arms. "It's ok May, there's no risk of falling from here."

"How did we get on top of this building? Isn't this the second tallest building in Castelia City after the Liberty Tower and how did we get up here so fast?" May separated from Ash and gazed at the amazing view of Castelia City, Liberty Garden, the ocean, and beyond.

Ash tied May's bandana back on then wrapped his arms around May's stomach and placed his head on her shoulder as he started to admire the beautiful dusk scenery. Even after the devastation brought by the Majestic 12, the city that never sleeps still emitted a beautiful view. Its lights fitted perfectly with the ever-present stars and the far-reaching ocean gave the view an incredibly serene appearance.

"I had this planned since the first time we arrived in Castelia City. Unfortunately, I never got it to happen until now, so sorry for the waiting May. On the bright side though, I was able to make things easier by talking with a little Psychic-type Pokémon who helped teleport us all the way up here," Ash told the girl as he rocked her in his arms, rubbing her stomach with his hand.

"Victini," May giggled as she watched what stood in front of her. "Ash, you've outdone yourself this time. Everything that you do…it just never ceases to amaze me. I was lucky to have you as my friend, but I became fortunate when you became the best part of my life. Ash Ketchum, you are the best thing that's ever happened to me," May said to him as she remembered the very first day they met long ago in Hoenn.

"You could say I've gotten better at this romance stuff huh?" Ash chuckled. Then he spoke again, "But May I feel like every bit of time that I put into you never goes to waste. I guess that's what love is…when you enjoy every single second of your experiences with that person you care about right?"

"Right," May grabbed Ash's hand and kissed it. She looked at the horizon and enjoyed the wind blowing towards her. She raised her head proudly with a smile across her face, "You know Ash…I consider myself the richest person on earth."

"How May?" Ash raised an eyebrow, surprised by her random statement.

"Because you gave me a piece of your heart Ash and I know that is worth more than all the wealth in the world," May said with a sweet voice.

"May, you're cheesier than I am," Ash commented with a soft tone, causing her to nudge him. The raven-haired boy chuckled, "But honestly, that's just how I feel about you. As long as we love each other, I know that we can manage through everything that stands between now and death."

"Ash Ketchum, you are my life," May turned around and wrapped her arms around his neck. Ash placed his arms around May's waist and the two pulled each other into a kiss. The kiss they shared on top of Castelia's most iconic building was as powerful as the first kiss they had ever shared, it was a kiss that meant many things, but most importantly they would always have each other. With pairs like Ash and May, and Hilbert and Hilda in Castelia City, the city that never sleeps had love filled in the air.
