Author's Note: I apologize for the late update. I got caught up with preparations for grad school next year. Anyway, since Robocop is over half-way finished, I'll be taking recommendations for the next film. Since I've already covered two action films, I've decided to try a comedy instead. As before, send me recommendations VIA PM ONLY and name your top five favorite comedy films you'd like to see.
It was nighttime in Vale. A motorcycle sped down the road until pulling over at a gas station near an overpass. However, it was too dark to see the rider. He parked next to a gas pump, dismounted his bike, and approached the service window.
The attendant was a young, bespectacled man using a dividing compass to measure diagrams from a geometry book.
"What's with the science book and… measuring thingy," Nora asked, unsure what the clerks instrument was called.
"Perhaps he's a college student doing his homework," Oobleck assumed, remembering his days as a student using every bit of spare time to get work done.
"Always make good use of whatever spare time you have, children," Glynda advised her students.
The rider stepped out of the shadows, revealing himself to be Junior. He was wielding an SMG.
Ruby and Yang both glared hatefully at one of their fathers' killers. Glynda also leered at the sight of Junior.
Junior tapped on the window with his gun to get the clerks attention.
"Gimme all your money, bookworm. Or I'll blow your brains out," Junior threatened.
The attendant didn't hesitate for a second before opening the register. He quickly placed all the lien at the service hole, which Junior reached through to take.
Junior smirked. "Now fill it up on number seven."
The attendant punched a few buttons on the pump control computer behind him.
Junior laughed as he walked back to his bike parked beside stall seven. He grabbed the stalls gas nozzle and inserted it into his motorcycle's fuels tank.
"Don't do nothing stupid, man. I'm a good shot. I can hit you in the eye from here," Junior warned, keeping his gun on the attendant.
Cut to a Robovision shot of the gas station from the overpass with the blinking words 'crime in progress'. Robocop was at the wheel of his police cruiser. He sped up towards the nearest exit.
"I knew that was coming," Sun said pointing at the screen.
"I guess he didn't get the message that Robocop was in town," Velvet assumed.
"That scummy bastard's gonna get it now," Yang said smirking.
Back at the gas station, Junior lit a cigarette while the attendant watched nervously from his window.
"Reckless dolt," Weiss sighed.
"That's one of the reasons I never smoke," Oobleck remarked, having never approved of smoking.
"Maybe he'll will burn himself to death before Robocop busts him," Nora said with a grin.
"Hey, man. Whatchu reading in there?" Junior called over.
The attendant held up the cover of the book. It was titled 'plane geometry'. Junior laughed and walked towards him.
"You a college boy or something? Huh" Junior asked.
The attendant timidly nodded.
"I'll bet you think you're pretty smart, huh? Think you can outsmart a bullet?" Junior asked, raising his gun as he reached the service window.
Weiss huffed. "That ruffian is probably just jealous he could never hope to attend college."
Unbeknownst to Junior or the attendant, Robocop had arrived at the station in his police car. He turned his head his left where Junior was menacing the attendant.
"What do you say we find out? Huh?" Junior threatened, kicking the wall beneath the window.
"You won't get a chance, you bastard," Yang spat, eager to see Junior get thrashed.
"Yeah, Robocops gonna thrash you!" Ruby added excitedly.
"I'm talking to you! What do you say? Huh?" Junior shouted at the attendant.
Robocop climbed out his police cruiser and shut the door, catching Junior's attention. The thug spun around in time to see Robocop draw and aim his Auto-9.
"Drop it!" Robocop ordered.
Junior backed away in fear, aiming his SMG at Robocop.
"He's not so tough now, is he," Sun chuckled, enjoying seeing Junior's bravado vanish.
"Thugs like him are cowards. They only prey on those who can't fight back," Ironwood sneered, prompting nods of agreement from the audience.
"Dead or alive, you're coming with me," Robocop declared as he walked towards Junior.
Junior looked befuddled at Robocops familiar words. He felt a sense of déjà vu.
"I know you," Junior said in recognition. "You're dead! We killed you!"
"Nope. But you're gonna wish you did!" Yang shouted.
Cut to Robovision. The words 'arrest mode' switched to 'record' as Robocop zoomed in on Juniors shocked face.
"We killed you!" Junior said again as he opened fire.
With his mouth agape in shock, Robocop lowered his weapon as Juniors rounds bounced harmlessly off his armor.
Ruby blinked in puzzlement. "Huh? What's wrong with him? Why isn't he shooting back?"
"Do you think he's glitching?" Nora asked.
Glynda scratched her chin, pondering. "Hmmm…"
One of Juniors bullets ricocheted into stall sevens fuel line, spraying fire dust all over the station. Junior kept shooting as he hopped onto his motorcycle, discarding his empty SMG.
Robocop's gazed tilted downward as he replayed his recording of Junior saying "You're dead. We killed you."
"Ah, so that's it. Robocop, or rather Taiyang, is trying to reconnect to his past," Glynda said in realization.
"You're right. Junior's words tipped him off, just like Glynda," Winter agreed, referring to Robocop's recording.
"If he takes Junior alive, perhaps he can interrogate him for information," Port added.
Junior took one last drag of his cigarette while the gas station attendant grabbed his book and ran out of the service booth. Junior tossed the lit cigarette aside and sped away.
Robocop finished observing his recording and watched as Junior drove off. At that moment, the lit cigarette ignited the leaking fire dust. The entire station exploded in a great cloud of flames that engulfed Robocop.
Ruby gasped. "Oh no! Dad!"
"Don't worry, Ruby, my friend. The technicians said his armor was titanium laminated with kevlar. It'll take more than that to damage Robocop," Penny reminded, calming her friend down.
The fire cloud dissipated, revealing Robocop completely unscathed. He walked towards the fleeing Junior and fired his Auto-9, popping the back tire of his bike. Junior screamed as he lost control and crashed into a nearby parked car, sending him flying through the air. He landed roughly on the road.
"Awesome job, dad!" Ruby cheered.
"He wasn't going to get away that easily," Yang said.
"But is he going to kill him?" Ren asked.
"More likely, he'll book him at the precinct," Oobleck guessed, knowing Junior was no good to Robocop dead.
Robocop marched towards Junior as the gas station burned in the background, the flames glinting off his armor.
"That is bad. Ass!" Coco commented, admiring the scene.
"You can say that again," Neptune agreed.
"Scary too. But still awesome," Velvet added.
Robocop reached down, grabbed Junior, and hauled him up to look at his face.
"Who are you?" Robocop demanded.
The injured Junior groaned in pain but didn't respond.
"Who are you?!" Robocop demanded again angrily.
Again, Junior gave no answer. Giving up, Robocop dropped him onto the pavement.
"He's hit a dead end," Ruby groaned.
"Not necessarily. Remember, his recording of Junior earlier," Penny reminded.
"You're right Penny. Maybe he can work with it," Winter agreed.
Back at the VPD precinct computer and record room, Robocop walked between two shelves full of records and electronic parts. Officer Cecil noticed Robocop and approached him, adjusting his glasses.
"Can I help you, sir?" Cecil asked.
"No," Robocop replied flatly, walking past the officer.
"W-w-what exactly is it that you want?" Cecil asked nervously.
Robocop ignored him and continued navigating through the computer room, passing other confused cops as he went.
"Hey! You can't enter here!" Cecil babbled, trying to sound assertive. "Wait a second! Hey!"
"Yeah… I'm pretty sure he can," Jaune said, knowing Cecil couldn't stop Robocop.
"What's he going to do, write him up?" Nora joked.
Robocop searched the room until he came across a set of towering supercomputers making up the VPD database.
"Just a minute! This is a restricted area!" Cecil said, grabbing Robocop by the shoulder.
Robocop spun around, raised his fist, and a metallic spike protruded from his wrist. Cecil's eyes widened as he wisely backed off.
"Damn! Robocop means business," Coco commented.
Yang smirked. "I think now he's got the point."
Everyone groaned at Yang's pun.
Robocop turned back to the computer and inserted the spike into the computers access port. The screen activated, and a menu of icons such as 'Alias ID', 'Photo ID', 'Iris ID', and others. Robocop selected 'Photo ID' then twisted his wrist sideways. The recording of Junior at the gas station materialized onscreen with the word 'Inputting Data' listed below.
The screen zoomed in on Junior's shocked face as a myriad of different mug shots flashed next to the picture until a match was found from his lower face, nose, and eyes. Junior's file appeared onscreen with multiple options listed below.
"So, he's using Junior's photograph to identify him. And perhaps uncover what he can about his past," Penny said in understanding.
"And gather intel on Roman and his gang," Winter added.
Robocop selected 'Known accomplices'. One by one, he searched through the members of Roman Torchwicks gang until he stopped on the gang leader himself. Next, Robocop searched Roman's extensive rap sheet. He scrolled down until he came across 'Suspect murder- Xiao Long'.
Robocop gazed back up at Roman, then down to 'Xiao Long' on the menu as he remembered what Glynda said to him earlier.
"Xiao Long, it's you. Xiao Long, it's you. Xiao Long, it's you," Glynda's earlier phrase could be heard echoing.
"He's beginning to connect the dots," Neptune pointed out.
"It's amazing, after what Roman and his goons did to him, he's still alive," Jaune remarked, impressed by Taiyangs resilience.
"Well, perhaps only his body was lost. But if his brain and memories are intact, Taiyang isn't truly dead," Ozpin reasoned, happy that Taiyang was slowly being reborn.
"Damn right. Dad can't be put down that easily," Yang concluded, feeling pride for her father's counterpart.
Robocop selected 'Suspect murder- Xiao Long', and Taiyangs profile appeared, including his photograph and address. The bleak red letters spelling 'Deceased' crawled across the screen.
Robocop focused on Taiyangs face, then his address: '548, Primrose Lane. Vale.'
"Looks like he's heading home," Qrow noticed, then wondered how Taiyangs family would react to Robocops homecoming.
Cut to a Robovision view of Taiyangs house from Robocop's police cruiser. 'Primrose Lane' appeared as he drove closer. Robocop glanced to his right and spotted a road sign. '548, Primrose Lane' appeared next, confirming it was the right address.
"How will they react when they. Assuming they even believe it's him," Port wondered aloud.
"You're right. They must have been given the bad news," Oobleck added, feeling sorrow towards Ruby and Yang's counterparts.
Robocop pulled into the driveway. A red 'For Sale' sign was posted on the front of the house.
Ruby blinked in surprise. "Huh? The house is for sale?"
"What happened? Did they move away?" Pyrrha wondered, sipping a soda.
"Maybe. But why?" Ren asked curiously.
Robocop parked his cruiser and stepped out. He entered the house through the surprisingly unlocked front door. Inside, a small computer unit activated, showing a house salesman in a red suit.
"Welcome, shopper. Let's take a stroll through your new home," The salesman said cheerfully. "This is a one family house built by Beacon Industries. Situated near schools and shopping centers, this progressive community has a growth factor of 7."
"That's how real estate agents pitch their sales?" Jaune asked curiously.
"Apparently. I suppose those consoles allow them to pitch several homes at once," Port assumed.
Robocop ignored the recording as he explored the house. The living room was empty, except for a tarp covered armchair and sofa. A dead, dried-up plant in a flowerpot was perched near the fireplace. Finding nothing, Robocop moved towards a nearby hallway.
As Robocop walked on, As he did, his vision turned to static, then it cleared up, revealing the Xiao Long household as it was before Taiyang's death.
"More memory flashes," Winter noted.
"Little by little, Taiyang is certainly returning," Ozpin added happily.
Confused, Robocop returned to the living room. He saw Ruby and Yang watching TJ Lane taking down a perp and performing his signature gun twirl and holster trick.
"Wow! Can you do that dad?" Ruby asked.
"Yeah. Can you spin your gun like TJ?" Yang asked.
Robocop stood dumbstruck in the empty living room for a moment before moving on. Down the hallway was the kitchen and another salesman terminal. It activated once Robocop entered, and the salesman continued with his pitch.
"And, say, it doesn't matter who cooks in your family. Because this kitchen, by Food Concepts, makes everything a snap!"
The kitchen was almost completely empty, apart from a half-broken 'World's Best Husband' coffee mug sitting on the counter.
Ozpin gazed sadly at the broken mug, remembering how devastated Taiyang was when Summer was killed. It also reminded him of his failed marriage with Salem.
"Why did they move away?" Jaune asked, feeling sorry for the Xiao Long family.
"Perhaps losing Taiyang was too much to bear," Glynda guessed with sorrow.
"Losing a loved one can cause that. Families will move away for a fresh start," Port added, knowing several people who moved away after the loss of loved ones.
Robocop walked past the counter. Suddenly, his head snapped towards the far end of the kitchen. He walked over to a pile of debris and discarded items on a countertop. He reached over and fished out a photograph of Taiyang, Summer and their children on Halloween. Ruby was dressed as an angel, while Yang was a devil.
"Awww," several female audience members cooed at Ruby and Yang in their Halloween costumes.
"Ruby's a little angel," Coco said, putting a hand to her cheek from the sheer cuteness.
"You look adorable in that costume!" Yang squealed as she wrapped Ruby in a bear hug.
"Sis. Stooop," Ruby whined in embarrassment, but couldn't resist smiling.
Robocop's vision turned to static as another vision of his past materialized. It was Halloween. Summer was carving a Jack-o-lantern on the counter while Yang and Ruby were getting ready to go trick or treating in the background.
Summer smiled as she dropped her carving knife and helped put on Ruby's halo and Yang's horns.
"Aren't they cute?" Summer cooed, wrapping her girls in a hug.
"Yes we are," Yang said, managing a smile despite the sadness of the scene.
"This takes me back," Ruby said sadly, remembering happier days when Summer was still alive.
"Come on, Dad! Come one!" Ruby beckoned, waving Taiyang over.
"You're gonna miss it!" Yang added.
Taiyang's POV circled around the counter, joining Summer and the kids. A timer Polaroid camera on a small tripod was revealed to be sitting on a camera. It flashed, bringing Robocop back to the present.
Robocop crumbled up the photograph and continued searching the house. He entered a long hallway, his mouth wide with confusion and clarity as he entered the master bedroom. Inside, Summer quickly approached Robocop while wearing a pink bathrobe.
"I really have to tell you something," Summer said, then gave a heartwarming smile. "I love you."
Ruby sniffled. "We love you too, mom," she croaked, wiping a tear from her eye.
Yang gently put her arm around Ruby in comfort.
The camera zoomed in on Summer's face until it faded out onto the currently empty master bedroom.
Robocop heard the salesman continuing his sales pitch.
"The master bedroom. Functional space with a touch of elegance."
"That guy is still droning on," Sun sighed, getting annoyed by the real estate agent.
"Hopefully Robocop will shut him up," Neptune said, agreeing with his partner.
Frustrated, Robocop quickened his pace into the next room, swerving his head left and right in search of the terminal until he found it.
"Hey, have you thought it all over? Why not make me an offer?"
Robocop punched the computer screen, shattering in a shower of sparks.
"Called it," Neptune said with a grin.
Later, at a nightclub, a party was in full swing. Robocop descended a staircase towards the dance floor, moving through a wild crowd of partygoers. Many of them were punk rockers who were either drunk or too high on drugs to pay attention to him.
"Now that looks like my kind of place. Except for the drugs," Yang commented, liking the atmosphere of the nightclub.
"None of them seem surprised by Robocops presence," Ruby pointed out, eating a large chocolate chip cookie.
"They're probably too hopped up on coke to notice," Coco guessed.
"Never do drugs students. At Beacon, the punishment is very severe," Glynda warned firmly, adjusting her glasses.
None of the students dared to question Goodwitch.
From Robocops POV, the words 'Arrest mode. Suspect: Tuskon' were visible as he calmly strolled through the crowd. It didn't take long for him to spot Tuskon with his back to Robocop.
Robocop approached Tuskon from behind. The thug turned around and recoiled in shock at the sight of Robocop.
"Where is Roman Torchwick?" Robocop asked.
Tuskon scowled, reached into his jacket, and pulled out a handgun. However, Robocop swiftly smacked it out of his hand, sending it flying into the grasp of a drunken partygoer nearby.
"Okay," Tuskon said nervously, raising his hands in submission.
Robocop stared back at Tuskon, unconvinced by his act of surrender. He was correct, as Tuskon swung his foot into Robocops crotch with a metallic clang. Robocop didn't even flinch while Tuskon cried out in pain. The other partygoers laughed at the thug's futile attempt to fight.
The whole audience laughed as well, especially Ruby and Yang.
Qrow rolled his eyes "Oh yeah, like that was going to work."
"What an idiot," Weiss said, shaking her head.
Tuskon fell on his backside, wincing at the pain in his foot.
"Shit!" Tuskon hissed through clenched teeth.
"Let's talk," Robocop said as he grabbed Tuskon by his hair.
"Son of a bitch!" Tuskon yelled out as he was dragged elsewhere to be interrogated.
The audience laughed again.
"What do you think he's going to do to him?" Jaune asked.
"Whatever it is, it won't be pleasant," Oobleck predicted, sipping his coffee.
"Nope. But he totally deserves it," Yang said with a smirk.
Meanwhile, Merlot was snorting cocaine off a coffee table at his house while sitting on his couch. He was seated in between two models, Chandra and Tawny.
"There's just something about the way it sounds. Vice president," the Chandra drawled, cuddling up to Merlot. "It just turns me on."
"God, you girls are so great," Merlot snarled, feeling the effects of the coke already. "I mean I just... I love to be with intelligent women. Smart is so sexy."
Merlot suggestively sniffed the Tawny's leg as she lifted it up for him.
Coco gagged slightly. "More than we can say for you, dirty old creep."
"This is repugnant," Weiss said, averting her eyes from the screen.
"Do we have to watch this?" Yang asked Gold-Sith, disgusted to see a man Merlot's age flirting with two women young enough to be his daughters.
"Apologies, everyone. It'll be over soon."
"I know. Sometimes I could just think of something, and it could just get me so horny," Tawny purred.
"Yeah, well, a mind is a terrible thing to waste," Merlot said. "I get bored so easily."
Just then, the doorbell rang, causing Merlot to sigh.
"Must be the champagne," Merlot assumed. "Stay here."
Every female audience member sighed in relief at being spared watching anymore.
Merlot chuckled as he jogged over to the front door and opened it.
"How you doing?" Merlot barely had time to say.
Roman Torchwick grabbed Merlot by the neck and forced his way into the house, holding the OCP vice president at gunpoint.
"What the hell is he doing there?" Yang shouted, angry at the mere sight of Roman.
"Probably looking to score some big money by robbing an OCP executive," Winter assumed, knowing the White Fang targeted her family for the same reason.
"But why Merlot of all people?" Ozpin wondered, suspecting that Roman wasn't acting alone.
Roman shoved Merlot into the living room.
"Bitches, leave," Roman ordered the two models.
The Chandra and Tawny quickly grabbed their things and headed for the door.
"Gee, Albert. Bye," Chanda said nervously. "You gonna call me?"
"Not very likely," Coco said dully.
"Thank Monty," Velvet said, still disgusted by the earlier scene.
Roman pushed Merlot across the room as the two models hastily left.
"What the fuck are you doing?!" Merlot shouted. "Do you know who I am?!"
Roman ignored Merlot as he screwed a suppressor onto his handgun.
"If you think you're gonna get away with this—" Merlot was cut-off mid rant by a gunshot to his right kneecap.
Nora winced. "Oooooh! Right in the kneecap!"
"That's gotta hurt like hell," Neptune commented.
Merlot slumped against a sofa; his teeth clenched in pain.
"Goddamn it!" Merlot growled
Roman ruthlessly fired several more bullets into Merlots legs, eliciting more screams of pain.
Several audience members winced at the multiple gunshot wounds Merlot received.
"Brutal as ever, aren't you, Torchwick," Ironwood said.
"Stop! I'll give you anything you want!" Merlot pleaded. "Just please, please don't kill me, all right?"
Roman removed the suppressor from his gun and approached a large entertainment system spanning across a nearby wall. He took a CD from his pocket and inserted it into a DVD player. A video recording of Arthur Merlot appeared on multiple TV screens.
"Hello, buddy boy. Arthur Watts here."
"What the hell?" Qrow muttered.
"Roman's working for Watts?!" Ruby gasped.
"Or, at the very least, he was hired to kill Merlot," Weiss theorized.
"I might have guessed," Ozpin said, not particularly surprised by the reveal.
Merlot's eyes widened in fear and realization. Watts was pulling the strings.
"I guess you're on your knees about now, begging for your life. Pathetic," Watts said mockingly onscreen.
Roman smiled as he munched on a candy bar. Then he walked across the room towards the coffee table.
"You don't feel so cocky now, do you, Albert?" Watts asked.
"Whatever he's paying you, I'll double it right now," Merlot desperately offered Roman.
"I'm guessing this is how corporate warfare plays out," Yang assumed, looking at Weiss for confirmation.
Weiss shook her head. "It's rarely reaches levels like this. Even my father is more pragmatic than that."
"She's right. Hiring criminals to assassinate business rivals is a risky move," Winter agreed with her sister.
Roman ignored Merlot but helped himself to a quick whiff of the leftover coke on the coffee table.
"You know what the tragedy is here, Albert? We could have been friends. But you wouldn't go through proper channels," Watts said disappointedly.
Roman smirked as he held up a frag grenade and waved it at Merlot.
"No…" Merlot whispered in terror.
"You went over my head. That hurt," Watts said, shaking his head. "But life goes on. It's an old story, the fight for love and glory, huh, Albert?
Roman pulled the pin from the grenade with his teeth, letting the plunger clatter to the floor. He then calmly set the grenade down on the coffee table only a few feet away from Merlot.
"Oh, that's just cruel," Neptune said.
"Leaving it just out of reach to torment him," Velvet said, shaking her head at Roman's sadism.
"Roman and Watts definitely work well together," Sun stated.
"It helps if you think of it as a game, Albert. Every game has a winner and a loser," Watts continued with a smirk.
With his work finished, Roman casually left the house, closing the door behind him. Merlot dragged himself to the table.
"I'm cashing you out, Albert," Watts concluded.
Merlot groaned with panic as he fruitlessly tried to grab the grenade and throw it away. But it was too late. The grenade beeped rapidly and detonated, blowing Merlot and his house to pieces in a burst of flames.
"So, now that Merlot's out of the picture, the Robocop program will become defunct," Ironwood presumed.
"And Watts will be pushing for a full-scale production of ED-209," Penny said, dreading the defective robots doing more harm than good for Vale.
"Unless Robocop puts a stop to it," Winter said, hoping Watts plans would be foiled before ED-209 only worsened the situation in Vale.
Later, a dispenser was shown filling row after row of bottles with cocaine at a drug factory. Numerous workers wearing gas masks were busy packaging the bottled coke in cardboard boxes for distribution.
Up above on a metal catwalk, armed guards supervised the workers. Roman Torchwick walked along the catwalk while discussing business with and Sal, a local, mustached, drug smuggler in his mid-forties. They're respective goons followed them.
"It looks like Roman is expanding his business," Port pointed out.
"Makes sense. With Merlot dead, he probably thinks Watts will deal with Robocop," Glynda assumed.
"So he's going to be flooding Vales streets with drugs," Oobleck said in disgust.
"I don't think I want to pay you that, Sal," Torchwick said.
"I don't give a shit what you want to pay," Sal retorted, wine glass in hand. "I set the prices here."
"Listen, pal, maybe you haven't heard. I'm the guy in Old Vale. You want space in my marketplace, you're gonna have to give me a volume discount," Roman calmly demanded as he descended a staircase.
"How long do you think Roman's been working for Watts?" Ruby asked.
Port shrugged. "It's hard to say. We'll just have to watch and wait."
"I'm not into discounts," Sal replied as he followed Roman to the ground floor.
Roman smiled. "Yuma, show the man what we brought him for Christmas."
Yuma emptied a bag full of stacks of Lien chips on a nearby table in front of Sal.
"Think about it, chum. Good business is where you find it," Roman said as he lit a cigar.
Sal set down his wine glass and picked up a stack of Lien in consideration while Roman sat down at the opposite side of the table.
"Okay, let me try to put this in perspective," Sal said, tossing the stack at Roman and sitting down. "You killed a bunch of cops. The word around is that you've got a lot of heavy connections downtown. You make a lot of my friends nervous. A lot of people would love to see a guy like me put a guy like you out of business."
"We'd love to see him put six feet under," Qrow said angrily.
Roman just smiled again. "I don't know. I don't know. Maybe I'm just not making myself clear."
Roman dipped his finger into Sal's wine and licked it. Sal picked it up in annoyance and took a sip.
"I don't want to fuck with you, Sal," Roman countered. "But I got the connections. I got the sales organization. I got the muscle to shove enough of this factory so far up your dumb ass that you'll shit snow for a year."
"He's definitely getting arrogant with Watts on his side," Glynda said, sipping a glass of white wine.
Sal had heard enough. "Frankie, blow this cocksucker's head off!"
Sal's goons drew their weapons. Unfortunately, so did Yuma and Trifa. All work in the factory ceased.
"Guns, guns, guns! Come on, Sal!" Roman hollered, slapping the table. "The Tigers are playing tonight. "I never miss a game."
There was a tense few seconds of silence between the two groups.
"Hopefully they'll just kill each other and save Robocop the trouble," Yang said.
"Yeah, but it would be way more satisfying for Robocop to do it," Neptune countered.
"Good point," Yang conceded.
Then Sal chuckled nervously. "Just kidding," he said meekly.
Roman smiled at his cowed foe as the thugs lowered their weapons.
Suddenly, there came a pound at the factories front wooden door. It was a powerful blow that flexed the wood and rattled the rusty hinges. All of the startled workers and goons immediately went for their weapons as the pounding continued.
"I knew that was coming," Jaune said with a smile.
"It's time for a shootout," Neptune announced excitedly.
"Oh, those scumbags are in for it now," Velvet said.
"Go! Go!" Trifa urged Roman towards the catwalk.
The door gave way and fell with a loud crash. In the dust filled opening stood Robocop with his Auto-9 at the ready. He walked straight in. Through his targeting computer, Robocop highlighted one thug after another. There were over a dozen of them.
"Let's see. One unstoppable, badass, cyborg cop versus a dozen or so coke dealing thugs," Nora observed with an excited grin on her face.
"Piss poor odds for them," Qrow remarked as he took a sip of his flask.
"Come quietly or there will be trouble," Robocop demanded.
"Oh, Fuck you!" Trifa shouted as she cocked her shotgun and fired.
The other thugs opened up on Robocop with pistol, shotgun, and smg fire. As always, the bullets bounced harmlessly off his thick armor.
Robocop marched unwaveringly into the factory, took aim with his Auto-9, and returned fire. One by one, the thugs were effortlessly gunned down by the seemingly unstoppable cyborg as he advanced through the factory. Stray bullets kicked up smoke and cocaine dust that filled the factory.
Many audience members cheered Robocop on as he slaughtered the goons.
"Go, dad! Go!" Ruby cheered.
"Pump those suckers full of lead!" Nora shouted.
"Show them whose boss!" Coco said.
Among the dead was Sal himself as he was shot by stray gunfire from one of his dying goons. Soon enough, only Roman, Yuma, and Trifa were left alive up above on the catwalk overlooking the now corpse filled ground floor. They continued shooting at Robocop, catching the cyborgs notice.
Robocop aimed and fired at the trio of thugs, hitting Trifa who was sent reeling and knocked Yuma off the catwalk with her shotgun. Yuma cried out as he fell to the ground floor below atop some cardboard boxes.
"You assholes aren't laughing now are you," Yang said, still bitterly remembering how the thugs laughed hysterically as they gunned down Taiyang.
"Yeah. Not so fun being shot back at, is it?" Blake added, eating a handful of popcorn.
Roman fired one last bullet at Robocop before trying to flee. Robocop followed, his metal feet crushing bottles of cocaine as he went.
Roman ran down the catwalk, climbed atop the railing, and jumped onto what he thought was a stable ceiling. Instead, it was only flimsy drywall.
"Shit!" Roman shouted as he fell through.
Roman landed roughly on his face in a small office, his mouth bleeding from the impact. Right behind him, Robocop stepped into the room. The cyborg grabbed Roman by the scruff of his jacket, hauled him to his feet, and spun him around to face him.
"Oh-ho-ho! He's in for it now," Sun said, anticipating a world of hurt for Roman.
"I've been looking forward to this," Yang said eagerly.
"We all have," Pyrrha added, knowing the whole audience wanted to see Roman get his just desserts.
"Roman Torchwick, you are under arrest," Robocop declared. "You have the right to remain silent.
Roman defiantly spat blood onto Robocops visor. "Fuck you!"
Ruby scowled at the screen. "He just doesn't know when to quit, does he?"
"He will after a few rounds with Robocop," Nora said, predicting a serious beatdown.
Robocop angrily threw Roman through a glass window, then followed him out.
"Hey, wait a minute. Wait a minute!" Roman shouted as he sat up. "I'm protected, man. I've got protection!"
Robocop grabbed Roman by the collar and hoisted him to his feet again.
"I beg to differ," Glynda sneered at Romans claim.
"You have the right to an attorney," Robocop continued as he threw Roman back into the small office.
"What is this shiiiiit?!" Roman cried as he was sent crashing through another window.
"Go, dad! Kick his ass!" Ruby cheered.
"He has the right to remain unconscious," Yang said with a snicker.
A few audience members chuckled at Yang's joke, prompting the blonde bruiser to smile with pride.
"Oumdammit! Listen to me!" Roman yelled as Robocop lifted him up again. "Listen to me, you fuck! There's another guy!"
Robocop didn't listen as he pushed Roman into the next section of the office.
"He's OCP. He's a senior president!" Roman babbled.
"Anything you say may be used against you," Robocop said, throwing Roman through yet another window.
"It's Arthur Watts!" Roman cried as he was sent hurtling through the glass.
"Now he's just overdoing it," Jaune commented.
"He's going to break every window in Vale at this rate," Oobleck joked slightly, earning a few chuckles from the audience.
"Even so, it's no less than Roman deserves," Coco said, enjoying seeing Roman get thrown around like a ragdoll.
Roman staggered to his feet, his face now covered in blood and deep cuts from the broken glass.
"Don't you get it? You cocksucker!" Roman shouted. "I work for Arthur Watts! Arthur Watts!"
Robocop approached Roman as the crook backed up against a conveyer belt.
"He's the number two guy at OCP! OCP runs the cops!"
"That's not going to save you, Roman," Qrow said darkly.
"Kill him, kill him," Yang whispered eagerly.
Robocop still ignored Roman as he grabbed him by the neck with a scowl on his face.
"You're a…cop!" Roman rasped as Robocop's grip tightened around his throat.
Directive 3: Uphold the Law appeared on Robocops POV as he stared at Roman's bloodied face.
"Cop," Roman choked out.
Robocop paused for a few seconds before reluctantly releasing Roman.
There were a few groans of disappointment from the audience.
"What?" Blake said in disbelief.
"After what he did to you?!" Velvet said indignantly.
"His programming is compelling him to spare Roman's life. He's a subdued perp after all," Penny pointed out glumly.
"Oh, come on!" Yang shouted, throwing her hands up in frustration.
"Besides, without Roman, Robocop will have nothing to connect Watts to Merlot's murder, or any other crimes he's committed," Ironwood reasoned, knowing that Roman's employment with Watts would help take down the corrupt OCP executive.
Roman glared at the cyborg as he rubbed his sore throat.
"Yes. I am a cop," Robocop begrudgingly agreed.
'Arrest Mode' flashed on Robocops POV as he observed Roman's relieved face.
"You lucky bastard," Qrow grumbled, disappointed that Roman was spared for the time being.
"At the very least, Roman will be sent to death row for his crimes," Winter said, remembering Roman was a cop killer.
"Hopefully," Ruby said under her breath.
Authors Note: I downplayed the scene with Merlot and the two models for a good reason. Since Merlot is much older than Bob Morton, it would be quite disgusting to see a man in his 50s or 60s snorting coke off the breasts of a woman young enough to be his daughter. Ruby definitely doesn't need to see something like that.
