A.N. I do not own Inuyasha or Torchwood/Doctor Who.

Ianto studied the foreign woman with curiosity as she stirred her tea and sniffed at the air. "I promise you that it isn't poisoned. I'm not the sort, and if you don't believe that, then Jack would kill me if I did anything to you."

"Yes, because he knows the Doctor and the Doctor knows me," Kagome sighed, finally taking a careful sip of the tea. It was very different than what she was used to, but still pleasant.

"The Doctor is very important to Jack and from what I can tell, he believes the Doctor is in love with you," Ianto told her a touch too bluntly. When he saw her flinch, his cheeks heated and he offered her a pastry. "Sorry."

"No, it is okay… Just not used to talking like this," Kagome mumbled lowly and accepted the sweet treat. "So, they go out and you stay in and maintain the base?"

"Something like that. They'll be coming back soon enough. Tosh is fairly intrigued to run tests at the scene and Jack is probably being… well, Jack." He frowned just a little and sat across from her.

"Being Jack?" Kagome echoed, curious as to what that meant.

"Well, you're a beautiful woman with a curious past… He'll be trying to figure out the best way to make a pass at you," Ianto determined.

"Ah, and this is not a good thing to you," Kagome assessed. "Do not worry… I am not interested in your Jack."

Blushing once more, Ianto cleared his throat. "He does not belong to me."

"But you care for each other," Kagome pointed out with just as much bluntness. "Even if Jack is a…" The miko frowned and paused to try and find the word.

"Fiftieth century man," Jack volunteered as he walked in behind her. "My ears have been ringing and now I see why."

Ianto looked away and began gathering his cup. "I'll let you two talk." With that, he walked out quickly.

Jack glanced at the beautiful Japanese woman. "I see why the Doctor was so enamored."

"Oh?" Kagome responded, not overly impressed with how obvious the man was being.

"All the power in the world and you had pure grief in your eyes when we busted through. They tried to kill you and you were mourning. You're his perfect match." Jack sat beside her, his gaze intent.

"He has a wife that is not me," Kagome pointed out simply.

"Yeah… Doesn't matter. You're so worth cheating." Jack grinned and eyed her with curiosity. "Or just having an open relationship."

"Shameless, that is what you are," Kagome stated, getting to her feet.
