A.N. Well, it has been awhile! There are a lot of stories that get abandoned, but I do my best to not abandon mine even if they go long periods without updates. I do not own Inuyasha, Doctor Who, or any other associated properties. I am the poor.

The sun beat down on her back, the heat something almost completely unbearable to her. Kagome took a long drink from her water cantine and reapplied her sunscreen for what felt like the tenth time since leaving her hotel. She was grateful that her time in the feudal era had impressed upon her the need for a quality sunhat at least.

"Keep with the group everyone. You don't want to fall behind!" the tour guide instructed, his English accented thickly.

Despite his words, Kagome slowed, deciding to hang back to keep track of the stragglers. "Not much farther!" she told them confidently.

A redheaded woman huffed and struggled with her pack. "I should've gone for the tours on camel back..."

"Do you need help?" Kagome asked politely, offering to take the pack from her. Ever since their trek through Luxor had begun, she had felt drawn to the UK native that seemed to glow in the sun.

"Oh, no! I packed the bag, I have to carry it." The paler woman shifted her pack again, wiping her forehead. "You don't have to babysit me. You must be here to enjoy yourself."

"I can still enjoy the views back here. I'm Kagome Higurashi," she told her, smiling and fishing through her lighter messenger bag and pulling out a compressed umbrella. "Besides, it can be nice to have company." Opening the umbrella, she angled it to help shield the other woman from the sun.

"I suppose you're right. It's beautiful here, but everyone I speak to is either trying to sell me something or scoffing at me like I'm an American. Could be nice to have someone to just chat with," the redhead agreed, shifting her pack again and moving further into the shade gratefully.

Smiling, Kagome nodded. "Yes. Traveling companions can often make all the difference..."

"So, what brought you to Egypt?" the older woman asked, eyes running over the petite East Asian beauty curiously.

"Well, I am on an adventure of sorts. I spent a long time focused on a goal, and now that it's done, I just want to experience the new." Kagome chose her words carefully, knowing she shouldn't say too much, and also always mindful of her English.

Nodding, she looked at the remnants of the ancient world and mix of the modern tourist industry around them. "Yes, adventure. Chasing it can be a little tiring though, especially when you've experienced astonishing things and now you can only see what's left around you... Oh, I've been so rude! Asking you questions and not even giving my name. I'm Donna. Donna Noble."
