Heya Readers, So sorry for the wait on this fanfic, as I had been focusing a lot on '13 Candles' and have finally reached the turning point in the plot on that fic, also I did have some writers block on this one, but after taking some respite I think I might have picked up again on this fic, but no promises!

Chapter Twenty-Six

Thoughts

As evening approached, Seth had sat awake until the other Disciples were to rise.

Diablo was up earlier than everyone else and he was ready to scout, especially since Rex had the scent of the perpetrators that had burnt Seth's house down and killed his family.

As Diablo opened his eyes and stretched his wings he saw the Oryx sitting by the stairs and he cocked his head on one side.

"Solomon." He said "You're awake? Well I suppose you're not used to sleeping during the daytime hours."

Seth nodded.

"How are you feeling?" Diablo asked "Especially after last nights events?"

Seth sighed.

"I still feel guilty." He said "All the things I said to Angela and it wasn't her fault."

Diablo nodded.

Since he left Angela after she had shouted at him, he couldn't help but feel hurt, especially after what she said to him, saying she wished she'd never met him.

He wondered if there was a slight chance he could make amends with Angela before he and his Disciples moved on, but he wasn't holding out much hope.

He had genuinely felt he had met someone who understood his woes and sorrow, and thought that after he had saved her, despite her being terrified of him, that she was starting to trust him, but now, it seemed it had gone up in smoke.

But despite his feelings, he knew about the history Solomon and Angela shared, and he wanted to let them make amends. He knew that he had to get Solomon and Angela talking again, or at least clear the air before Solomon was to leave with him.

"Even if Angela never forgives me, I hope that I can get her and Solomon to be friends again."

He looked at the Oryx and rubbed his chin as a thought crossed his mind.

"Solomon?" He asked.

Seth looked over to him.

"Yes?" He replied.

Diablo opened his beak, but he closed it again like a fish.

Seth cocked his head on one side.

"What were you going to ask me?" He enquired.

Diablo coughed.

"I..I was." The Raven spluttered "I was going to ask if you had thought of a new name yet? Since after our mutations, we all changed our names."

Seth sighed and nodded.

"I have." He said.

"You have?" Diablo asked in surprise.

Seth nodded.

"I have renamed myself, Seth." He said "It was my maternal grandfather's name."

Diablo smirked.

"I like it." He said then he extended his talented hand.

"Welcome Brother." He said "Seth the Oryx."

Seth nodded his head to him.

"Thank you." He said.

Diablo bowed his head.

"Once the others are awake, we will make a plan, both to find those who burned down your home, and find Angela so you can make amends with her."

Seth frowned hard as the memories came back to him.

"Nothing would please me more to find the evil ones who did this horrific crime!" He said "I want to make each and every one of them pay!"

"And we shall." Diablo promised.

"But more than anything." Seth said "I want to say how sorry I am to Angela, both for how I acted, and also to how much I will miss her."

"We will do all of that." A voice behind the Oryx and Raven spoke making them both jump and they looked around to see Rex waking up along with Samson.

"Ah Rex." Diablo said with a smile "You're awake."

Rex stretched and yawned exposing his teeth and his tongue extending, Samson rubbed his eyes and his face almost like that of a real panther before shaking himself awake.

"Trust me boss." Rex said "I have the scent of the bastards who burnt down Solomon's house, and it won't be long till we find them!"

Diablo smirked.

"Very good," he said "Then we got a lot to discuss with them, about what happens to sinners, and arsonists and murderers!" He flexed his talented hands.

He looked at the other disciples and saw they were waking up slowly.

Ravage stretched all four arms and cracked his joints.

"Hey!" He said "Whassup?" He asked.

"It's almost dark." Rex called over to the Locust, "We will be beginning the hunt again soon!"

Ravage smirked when he heard that.

"Music to my ears mate!" He said then turned to Regan who was curled up and sucking her thumb and he gently shook her awake.

"Hey, rise and shine ankle Biter!" He said.

Regan moaned slightly and opened her eyes before yawning.

Before long, Chastity and Lamia were awake.

Diablo looked to the window to see that the sun had fully set and he turned to Seth.

"We should wait a little longer before we start hunting." He suggested "But now, we shall go and seek out Angela."

"You sure?" Seth asked.

Diablo nodded.

"The humans will be settling down at home before too long, and the less the humans are out, the quickly we can get through the town to find Angela's home."

"You thinking of finding the girl again?" Ravage asked looking rather sceptical.

"You sure that's a good idea?" Chastity asked "After how she reacted? And after that fight?"

None of the Disciples were aware of how Angela had reacted to Diablo after Seth's mutation as the Raven hadn't told them anything about what had happened.

When he had arrived back at the hideout he had simply told them that he had followed her home but did not interfere with her sorrow as she hadn't seemed in the right frame of mind to talk to him after what had happened.

Diablo still felt sore but he pushed those thoughts aside.

"After what happened between them, I felt guilty." The Raven said.

"We all did." Samson chimed in.

"But we had to save his life." Lamia said.

"And I thank you for it, I know I didn't show it before." Seth said "But I am grateful."

"You're welcome Solomon." Regan smiled.

"Seth." Seth corrected before quickly adding "I mean, call me Seth."

"Seth hmm?" Ravage asked "I like that name! It's groovy!"

"Yeah!" Chastity agreed.

"Seth the Oryx." Rex mused "That has a good ring to it!"

"Anyway." Lamia said "Are you sure it's a good idea to seek out Angela?"

"I just want to make amends with her." Seth said "I feel so guilty for the way I spoke to her, and how I blamed her, what happened wasn't her fault!"

The oryx clenched his fists.

"if anyone is to blame, it's the bastards who burnt down my house, killed my parents and left me to burn." He added.

"That is very true." Diablo said "They are the ones to blame, they are the ones who caused this, and for what? Just because of what you are! You are an innocent victim!"

"Yes! I was!" Seth glowered.

"Both you and Angela were innocent victims, and those evil men who threw the petrol bomb into your house were the ones who stole your life, and stole your friendship with Angela! They will pay!" Diablo spoke.

"They will pay!" Seth repeated.

"Yes, they will!" Diablo nodded, they then looked to the other Disciples "Keep your walk-in talkies on, Seth and I will look for Angela, but we will return as soon as possible."

"Just be careful out there!" Chastity warned "It may have gotten dark, but the humans may still be out."

"I understand." Diablo replied then turned to Seth "We stick together and to the shadows, and we find Angela and check on her, if we can, we can try and speak to her, otherwise, we return and try again later, when it's safer to do so."

"I understand." Seth replied "I'm ready though."

Diablo nodded at him then turned to the Disciples.

"We will return anon." He said before walking up the stairs with Seth behind him.

Once the Raven and Oryx were outside, they looked around to make sure the coast was clear then Diablo spread his wings and opened his tall taloned feet.

"I'll carry you," he said as he hovered above Seth and the Oryx squared his shoulders showing he was ready to be carried and the Raven gripped his shoulders and under his arms before lifting him into the air.

"Whoa!" Seth cried as he felt himself get carried and he kicked his legs about feeling the air underneath as it felt so weird.

"You alright?" Diablo asked looking down.

"I'm fine!" Seth called up "It just feels strange!"

"I got you!" Diablo called down "I won't drop you!"

He then flapped his wings harder and they took off into the air.

Seth reached up and gripped the Raven's ankles so he felt more secure then he looked down at the town of Spencer just ahead of them and bit his lip.

"Angela." He said "I do hope you're alright, and please, I hope you listen to me, and forgive me for the hurtful things I said."

As the Oryx was thinking, he had no idea what was going on in Diablo's head.

As the Raven flew and felt the wind through his feathers and under his wings, he thought back to what he wanted to say to Seth but he had stopped himself.

He had almost wondered whether to suggest to Seth, if Angela would join them? Would she want to join them so she would never feel lonely again?

But he had thought that would never be, especially after how Angela had spoken to him, saying she wished she had never met him, and the last thing she would want to hear was if she wanted to join them, there was no way she would want to mutate, and also it would be difficult for a human to join them as a Disciple.

The Raven sighed to himself, after meeting Angela and getting to know her, he had toyed with the thought of giving her the choice, but seeing how she lived her life, despite her sadness, he strongly believed that she would never take the chance.

Diablo looked down at Seth then flew closer to Spencer, he was feeling worried and nervous about seeing Angela again and wondered whether he even should try and talk to her after the way they had parted last night.

So Seth and Diablo have left the hideout to seek out Angela, both are worried about how the meeting will go.

Well, how it goes will be up to me to decide and write, so stay tuned until then!
