FRAGMENTED HEARTS

Hermione returned to her office after returning from the meeting with the minister, but to her misfortune, she passed through that corridor where she had found Harry making out with his girlfriend, Sarah.

The brown-eyed girl entered her office and closed the door, leaning against it and letting out her tears with her eyes squeezed shut.

Hermione had accepted long ago that she would never be anything more to Harry than his best friend, but that didn't lessen the fact that she was still completely in love with him, which was bad enough since she had to hold back her tears and her broken heart every time she saw him with Sarah, who, by the way, hated her for the simple fact that she was Harry's closest friend.

When Hermione managed to calm down and open her eyes, she found a mess in her office, as there were papers all over the floor and other objects scattered.

She would have to find out what had caused this disaster, although she was almost sure that she had been a victim of the prankster ghost that had sneaked into the ministry, but at the moment she had no head for this, so she quickly took out her wand and with a movement of his hand, everything returned to its place and respective order.

On the other hand, while Hermione was frustrated by the terrible day she had had, Harry was annoyed, complaining to Sarah for having kissed him in public, although he noticed that few people were passing by.

"I've told you many times that I don't like kissing in public...it can be misinterpreted," Harry commented angrily, crossing his arms and staring at her.

"I'm sorry honey, but I remembered that I have team practice in an hour and I have to go. It was my goodbye kiss" explained the woman improvising her excuse.

"What? Team practice? But you told me yesterday that you had the day off…" Harry debated, confused.

"Shit! Yes... they told me in the morning, and I forgot to tell you. I'm sorry honey." Sarah tried to make up for her mistake.

Harry, frowning, evaluated his girlfriend's face, looking for some strange sign, the silence was tense for both of them, and after a few seconds the green – eyed man sighed, indicating that he believed her. Sarah, knowing that act, smiled at being released.

"Okay," Harry said with a growl, "hey, don't forget the meeting at Neville's house tomorrow," the auror reminded his girlfriend.

"Sure honey, I won't forget it," Sarah assured, giving Harry a quick kiss on the lips, before turning around and continuing towards the exit of the ministry.

Now that Harry couldn't see her face, Sarah rolled her eyes, remembering that damn meeting with Harry's friends. She knew that they only invited her to come with them because she was Harry's girlfriend, plus it was certain that at that meeting she would meet Hermione, who to her displeasure was "secretly" in love with Harry. The only one who didn't know was him and she wasn't the one who was going to tell him, because she wasn't willing to let her boyfriend arouse more interest in his best friend.

It was more than obvious to Sarah that Harry had feelings for Hermione, but every time she got jealous of the brunette, Harry would get annoyed and remind her that Hermione was her best friend and that her friendship with her was not going to change at all because of her jealousy.

Sarah had already tried to get the auror away from her friends, mainly from the brunette, but her stubborn boyfriend never let go, so she changed tactics many times, from scenes of jealousy, to feigning illnesses to not attend her friends' events, this only worked the first time, at a dinner Mrs. Weasley had organized, and when she wanted to repeat it for Hermione's surprise birthday party, Harry had left her in "bed" claiming that he had never missed a birthday for his friend and he would never.

Certainly, her jealousy increased every time she saw them talking, but over time she knew how to hide it from his friends, but not from the honey-eyed, in order to show her that Harry belonged to her.

On the other hand, at that very moment, Luna Lovegood was walking down the hall heading to the auror office to see Ron, but as she walked she heard voices from inside the closet that was in her way and she went over to make sure she wasn't freaking out.

When she confirmed that she had heard the voices and recognized two of them, she grabbed the doorknob and opened it, taking Ron, Neville, Draco, James and Lilly by surprise.

Everyone looked at the girl who opened the door, three faces turned pale, and the two young persons looked at the blonde in astonishment.

Reflexively, Neville moved in front of James and Lilly in a feeble attempt to cover them up, while Draco gulped and motioned for James and Lilly not to speak.

The blonde crossed her arms and frowned, taking an angry pose and glaring at the one she considered the one who would fall quickly.

"Ronald," the girl exclaimed, with the harsh tone she almost never used.

"Eh… Luna?" said the redhead, taking a step forward and avoiding looking at Luna.

"Nev, I can still see them, they're not being as discreet as they think" the Ravenclaw said, shaking her head and radically changing her expression.

James and Lilly laughed and stepped forward completely out of the closet, where the other adults followed.

Once outside, Draco walked a bit further away, taking care that no one passed by.

Luna looked at the boys and appraised them from head to toe, before giving them a huge smile.

"So? Exactly what year of the future are you both from?" Luna asked as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Everyone's eyes widened in surprise, Lilly stammered in confusion, although she knew that her aunt Luna would find out before anyone said anything and for his part, James just stood in shock with his mouth open, knowing how smart his aunt was.

"Wh-how do you know?" Ron managed to ask after a few shocked moments.

Luna rolled her eyes and pointed at the Hogwarts uniforms as if it was the most obvious.

"Seriously? Just look at them. One: their uniforms scream "we come from the future. Two: Their house crests, while essentially the same, have a slight movement on the lion and serpent, making it an animated shield. Three: the fabric of her pants and skirt are a more uniform gray, and less matt, obviously it's something that hasn't been seen these days…" explained the blonde.

Draco, Ron and Neville turned their faces dramatically towards the siblings noticing what Luna was telling them so obviously.

"How the hell did you realize all that?!" Draco asked incredulously.

"I keep writing in my father's newspaper "The quibbler" and in the last edition they talked about fabrics, fashion and their use in daily life... so I can distinguish those details" Luna responded twisting her mouth a little "in addition to that recently there has been talk of modifying the Hogwarts uniforms."

"Boiled Snails!" Lilly exclaimed in surprise, for she had never stopped to think about such details.

At this exclamation, Luna widened her eyes and gave a few little jumps of emotion.

"Hermione! Oh, my God! They are Hermione's children!" The blonde exclaimed excitedly.

James puffed out his chest proud to be recognized.

"Wait! Who is the father? Oh! Oh! Yes, I know! I know! Their father is Ha…!" she exclaimed excitedly, when Ron raised his hand to her mouth, quickly covering it.

"Sh! Luna!"

"Ron let her go, I think she can help…" Draco said with a sigh.

Luna nodded frantically looking at everyone.

"Where will we go?" James asked.

Ron let go of Luna, peeping at her to keep quiet.

The blonde smiled at James and Lilly looking at them dreamily, she was going to talk to them when a little paper plane magically came flying towards her.

The blue-eyed girl unfolded the letter letting out an annoyed snort when she finished reading it.

"And I have to go. I forgot that I have an interview scheduled and the minister is waiting for me in his office, but I will see you later… Where will you go?"

"We will go to my house. We can plan everything more discreetly," Neville said.

"Fine, I'll see you there..." Luna said, starting to walk away, however she stopped halfway and yelled at them "And by Merlin, be careful! They both have Harry Potter blood! Trouble runs through their veins!"

James and Lilly blushed, while Ron and Draco laughed, Neville sighed agreeing, it wasn't for nothing that they were unintentionally in the past, and he turned back to the younger Potters.

"Good. Let's go before more people discover us," Neville said through his teeth.

"Lead the way, Professor Longbottom," Lilly said naturally, for in her time, Neville was still a professor of herbology and, in turn, at this time, Mcgongall had given him an important position on the Hogwarts education committee.

Neville was the one who kept the student register, as well as the reports to the ministry, so from the beginning he had believed that they came from the future.

On the way back, they ran into Harry again, who apparently was heading towards his office. The auror came looking towards the ground and with his hands in his pants pockets, and just when they wanted to pass without Harry noticing them, the auror looked up and they all stopped without knowing what to do next.

For her part, Hermione stormed out of her office and as she walked through the corridors, she was cursing at how bad her day had gone so far, until on the way she met Harry, Ron, Neville and Draco, who realized how annoying it came.

"Hermione, what's going on?" Ron asked, seeing his friend so upset.

"I think I fell victim to the prankster ghost that got into the ministry, as my office was turned upside down," Hermione explained in frustration.

Slightly hidden behind their uncles, James and Lilly shared an embarrassed look, knowing that they had caused the mess by being thrown by the time-turner in their mother's office.

When both siblings looked back to the front, they saw their father soothe their mother, when he caressed Hermione's arms up and down with his hands and then hugged her.

James and Lilly watched the exchange between their parents and in their eyes, they could see the connection between them and all the love they had for each other, but they didn't dare to confess.

The two Potter siblings shared another knowing look and smiled to themselves when they saw the interaction between their parents.

On the other hand, at the time of the exchange between Harry and Hermione, Ron saw his nephews smiling and noticed that Harry's features on Lilly showed the shy smile that Hermione always had for him and Hermione's features on James, Harry's crooked grin that made Hermione melt.

Neville and Draco had also seen the obvious display of effect, which only their two friends in question didn't notice.

The three men looked at their nephews and managed to see the excitement and happiness they conveyed just by seeing their parents together.

Finding herself calmer now, Hermione turned to the front and for the first time she saw the two Hogwarts students and strangely they seemed quite familiar to her, so she tried to get closer to ask.

"Hello? Are you guys lost?" Hermione asked confused.

The young men looked at each other nervously, trying to think of what to say.

"What happen? Are you in trouble?" Hermione asked again.

"Eh, no, I mean yes, no! I mean, she…me," James stammered.

When Hermione separated from him, Harry put his hands in his trouser pockets and at his friend's question and the sibling's reaction, he frowned, remembering that he had seen they before.

The green-eyed auror frowned more and took a step forward, wanting to get closer.

"Hey, aren't you the ones who got out of your apparition test?" Harry asked confused.

The brunette looked at Harry again for a moment, puzzled, and then returned her attention to the siblings.

"Yes. Their names are Louis and Jane Foster, they were in appearance exams and they dropped out of their class," Neville said as quickly as he could, trying to cover the younger Potters.

"Do you know them?" asked the brunette, frowning.

"Yes, they are…students of mine," Neville said with little confidence.

"I knew I had seen them before!" the auror exclaimed proudly.

"So? How good is Neville as a teacher? Is it true that he always brings his memory card with him? I've heard he tends to be forgetful," Hermione asked, turning to the siblings.

James and Lilly laughed at what was said, and nodded energetically, the adults joined in their laughter when they saw Neville blushing a little.

"Hey! That was not kind at all…" Neville said, pretending to be offended, and another round of laughter rang out.

"Do you remember the first year at Hogwarts? Longbottom had just received the rememberer and was already announcing that he had forgotten something" Ron said laughing as he remembered that moment at Hogwarts.

Harry laughed heartily, while Draco scoffed, Hermione smiled fondly at the memory.

"Yes, yes… good. Since we're remembering, there's something I haven't forgotten and it's that these two young people failed the last exam and they have to present an extraordinary…" Neville said, working on his plan.

"Yeah, uh... we're not as good as we thought... Is there any chance to give us tutorships?" James said following the thread of the conversation.

Neville smiled at how perceptive his friends' children were.

"I can do that... if in return they work a little in my department. I haven't had time to sort it out properly…" Neville said and nodded regarding the tutorials.

"That's extortion Neville," Harry said, shaking his head. "It's something Ron would do, not you," the auror added.

"Hey!" the redhead exclaimed, pretending to be offended.

"Okay," Lilly jumped in, interrupting and sealing the deal before an argument ensued and the plan was lost.

"You two must be desperate to pass, if you've accepted the job so quickly," Draco commented casually.

"Something like that... we need those credits," James said, trying to put on a shocked face.

Hermione frowned at James's face, somehow looking so familiar.

"Well... well, I think we can start now that it's vacation. I suppose we should notify your parents and/or guardians..." Neville said when he saw his brown-haired friend hesitate a bit.

They both nodded nervously as Ron and Draco started to walk away.

Harry and Hermione looked at their friend suspiciously with their eyebrows raised, and the auror brought one of his hands to his beard, caressing the area, while the other went to his pocket as a sign of weighing the words, but nevertheless, both ended up by let it go for now.

Neville began leading James and Lilly out, who always tried not to make eye contact with their parents, as they might have been caught.

They were about to leave for their homework, when Neville came running back.

"Hey! I almost forgot..." Neville said a bit agitated.

Harry and Hermione laughed at Neville's exasperated look, all keeping the remembrall in mind.

"Just, don't forget the meeting at my house. It's important, we're going to discuss my engagement party" added the boy.

"We'll be there Neville," Harry assured, making a promise.

"And I promise to bring my share of the ideas," Hermione added excitedly.

Neville smiled and said before saying goodbye,

"Excellent! Roxanne will be happy to know what ideas Hermione will take. See you" Neville said smiling and finally said goodbye.

Harry leaned into Hermione, making her blush slightly as he whispered in her ear.

"I know what I'm going to give him for his wedding," the auror assured.

"What will you give him?" Hermione said, trying to control the pounding of her heart.

"A new rememberer, the old one seems to have lost its power, he'd forget his wand if it wasn't for the fact that he practically sleeps with it," Harry said, wiggling his eyebrows in amusement.

Hermione burst out laughing as she tapped Harry on the shoulder, the auror rubbing off and laughing too.

…………………………………………….

In the meantime, …

year 2023

Hermione was sitting on the sofa in her living room with a huge book of ancient runes on her legs. Which he read with a frown and her index finger resting on her lips.

Hermione had been taking books out of her huge library, to take them into the living room, so that Harry could read too.

They both looked desperate and anguished, they had been investigating why the time turner had acted like this and had swallowed their children, together they were looking for a solution to bring them back.

After a few hours Hermione slammed the book shut, letting out an exasperated snort, Harry looked up from the book he was reading and with sad eyes pushed it aside and spread his arms wide. The brunette threw away the great runebook and threw herself into her husband's arms.

Hermione cried feeling helpless and afraid, she hoped her children were okay, and more than anything she wanted to have them back.

Harry comforted his wife as best he could, however he was also devastated, then unexpectedly got up leaving Hermione on the sofa and headed for the fireplace.

"Harry? What's going on? Hermione asked confused.

"We need help darling... and I know who can provide it," Harry replied with a bit of hope.

Harry disappeared after yelling, "Hogwarts," Harry yelled and disappeared from the place, only to return accompanied a few minutes later by the headmistress, Minerva McGonagall.

"Director!" the chestnut yelled between nostalgic and excited.

After greeting her and taking her to sit down to explain the situation to the director, she took the time-turner, remembering the first time she had given it to her favorite student.

"Time-turners have existed since ancient times, but despite this, their evolution was very erratic, and for this reason they suffered this type of behavior. They could break depending on the seriousness of the matter, and it would only happen if some failure had occurred in the past that could alter the future," McGonagall began to recount, and after a pause she continued, "Usually these failures could be fixed, as long as resolved within a time limit before altering the future.

Harry and Hermione began to understand that something had happened in the past, what they still couldn't understand was why the time-turner had swallowed their children.

"I suppose that in this case you are the cause of the breakdown, you couldn't have gone back to the past and solved the problem, due to the danger of being recognized quickly, so the time turner chose to take your older children, who although they have their genes could not be recognized so easily," said the director.

They were deep in conversation when their seven-year-old daughter, Rose, came down the stairs and approached them.

It was Harry who turned to the girl and held out his arms for his little daughter to come closer to him.

Harry hugged Rose and sat her on his lap, placing a small kiss on her forehead.

"Where are James and Lilly?" asked the little girl with black hair and green eyes.

At the question, Harry and Hermione tensed, sharing a look asking each other what they would say to their daughter.

It was Hermione who quickly thought of an answer for Rose.

"Hogwarts organized a camp this vacation and your brothers have gone with their friends for a few days" the chestnut improvised.

"That's right?" Rose asked as she turned her gaze now to the older woman.

"It's like that at the moment, young Potter, as headmistress of the school I came for them a while ago, but don't worry, I'm sure they'll be back soon," said Minerva, smiling gently.

Harry sighed with relief at the headmistress's well-formulated lie, giving her a thankful look.

"B-but they didn't say goodbye to me," the youngest Potter debated intelligently and with a bit of irritation.

"And they're sorry, but they had to go quickly..." McGonagall improvised.

"It'll just be the three of us for a few days, baby," Harry added, still worried, as his daughter rested her head on his shoulder, finally accepting the lie.

Rose then asked to eat, to which Harry took her, leaving Hermione and Minerva alone, until after a few minutes, the headmistress got up from the chair where she had been sitting.

"I'm afraid that for now it's the only thing I can help with, I'll investigate and talk to my contacts, maybe I can investigate more... just be careful, this object can tear the dimensions and alter them..." The teacher warned.

"I will try to find or create a containment spell. In the meantime, thanks for the help," Hermione said, her voice muffled.

Minerva approached her, gave her a comforting hug, then went into the fireplace, disappearing instantly.

Harry appeared with Rose in his arms a few minutes later, Hermione went over to her little girl and kissed her head tenderly.

Rose yawned and asked to go back to sleep for a nap, Harry put her down and saw her go up to her room, the green-eyed man turned to his wife, attracting her and placing a kiss on her lips, while he surrounded her with his arms.

They both closed their eyes taking refuge in each other, then the time-turner began to throw sparks and opened a kind of spiral of bluish energy, and as if it were a vacuum cleaner, it ripped Hermione from Harry's arms, with brutal force.

The brunette screamed as she was dragged, as Harry tried to reach her, something wanted to separate them, but using his body he pushed himself towards the spiral through it with force.

He landed in his own house, his body fell to the floor feeling the pain of the blow, he raised his head looking at his wife's body a few meters away.

"Hermione! Hermione!" He yelled desperately.

He quickly got up and ran towards her, instantly noticing that his wife's body was inert, he touched her cheek in terror, feeling it extremely cold, his gaze traveled over the face of the honey-eyed woman, her eyes closed slightly black, her blue lips almost ashen, her hair straw and bleached, she was a dead body.

"No! No... no, no, no, no... no... please... no..." Harry exclaimed and stammered in pain, feeling his tears come out quickly, and crying he clung to Hermione's body.

At the bottom of the stairs, she looked with confusion and anger at a dark chestnut, it was the same image of Hermione, but her eyes were highlighted by thick eyeliner, her clothes were completely black, on her left hand hidden on her wrist was a tattoo, there were five letters enclosed in a branch of intertwined thorns forming tiny hearts, those five letters were the name of the person she was seeing crying.

Harry and Hermione had just crossed a dimension, a very dark one, where chaos reigned after the death of the war hero Harry Potter, in his confrontation with Voldemort, leaving a devastated and vengeful Hermione Granger.

The world was hostile and sinister, so this version of Hermione was mired in depression after losing the love of her life.

Harry was devastated and so clinging to Hermione that he still didn't realize that someone was approaching him. The dark brunette had risen from the stairs and was slowly approaching him.

"First my children and now my wife" the man sobbed with his arms wrapped around the body of the woman who was lying on the floor "I thought the hell in my life had ended.

As the woman continued to get closer, she noticed that it was a woman just like her that Harry was crying uncontrollably for. Then she understood that she was dealing with a Harry and Hermione from another dimension, because her Harry had died in the war.

Seeing her beloved Harry cry over the body of a Hermione who was apparently dead, but she knew one hundred percent that this body was a boggart, she came to understand that the greatest fear Harry was facing at that moment was losing his loved one, Hermione.

This Hermione had put a spell whereby a boggart would appear as a shield, when anyone appeared near her. After the war, this was a defense mechanism for her that would allow her to prepare herself against her attacker.

But seeing what was in front of her right now, instantly this Hermione began to wish for what was on the woman's body on the floor. She longed to see Harry again and have that life with him, so she took her wand and with a wave of her hand, Hermione's body on the floor, vanished into ashes.

"No! No! come back!" Harry yelled desperately.

Seeing the despair Harry was going through, with a bit of magic she began to take on the appearance of the Hermione the green-eyed man cried for.

By taking on this appearance, this Hermione was aware that she would begin to drain the energy of the person who was taking her appearance. This was a really bad thing, she knew, but to have Harry by her side again, she would do anything.

Now she was approaching Harry with her renewed appearance. She was wearing Hermione's black skirt skintight to her knees, black heels, her white long-sleeved shirt with the Ministry brooch, and her cream trench coat over her dress. Her hair was coiled into a semi elegant bun, with her bangs slicked to her left side.

The only thing she wasn't wearing was the snitch collar Harry had given his wife as a gift before they were married.

Harry was even more devastated, after a few seconds that his wife's body had disappeared. His head was down and his tears were flowing, his body was shaking with sobs and he raised his fists to his head to grab his hair and pull it desperately.

"First my two oldest children, now his wife, the love of his life. What was life holding against him?

A moment later, he heard footsteps behind him and a rather familiar voice.

"She's not real... that was a boggart," the other Hermione said.

Harry slowly got up, turning around to find Hermione in front of him, her face now full of life, unlike the one that had been on the floor minutes before. His eyes widened with hope, and he quickly moved toward the dark version of his wife.

"Harry..." Hermione whispered, leaning a little closer.

With tears streaming down his face, Harry cupped his hands around Hermione's face.

"Don't do this to me... Don't you dare leave me like this," Harry pressed his forehead against hers, caressing her cheeks with his hands, "we have to go back and bring James and Lilly back. Rose is alone Hermione. You can't leave us. Our children need us…" Harry pleaded against Hermione's face.

Now this Hermione wanted the life of the other Hermione more, realizing that she was married to Harry and apparently had three children with him.

"I won't, love," Hermione whispered, and unable to take it anymore, she leaned towards him and kissed his lips, being reciprocated instantly, with a hungry and desperate kiss.

They hadn't even been locked in the kiss for ten seconds, and Hermione wanted more, but it was at that moment that Harry parted their lips and his face looked totally confused. His brows were furrowed and he was clearly alarmed.

"Harry... love, what's wrong?" asked the fake Hermione concerned.

"You...you're not Hermione...my Hermione," Harry clarified as he caught sight of the frightened face of the woman in front of him and then looked at her neck, where her snitch collar wasn't dangling.

Harry didn't understand, he was completely confused. He was looking at Hermione in front of him, she looked as beautiful as ever, all her perfect features that drove him crazy, but kissing her hadn't been the same and her necklace was gone.

Every time Harry kissed Hermione, no matter how many years they'd been married and how many kisses they'd had, he'd told her it felt like flying. He loved kissing her and right now when he felt her lips, all he wanted to do was break away from her.

He was scared, confused, and he needed to get his wife back right now. It couldn't be true, she couldn't be dead and he was sure that the woman in front of him wasn't his Hermione, that brunette with whom he was completely in love.

While all this was going on, Hermione would wake up in what seemed to be a dead-end room, on a frozen floor.

She slowly opened her eyes, and put her hand to her head trying to minimize the pain she felt.

When she was fully awake, she went through her clothing pockets looking for her wand, which was missing.

Seconds later her face went up and what she saw made her alarmed, since she was surrounded by countless mirrors that first reflected her and as she tried to find something that would indicate a way out, the mirrors began to rotate and project images with her deepest fears.

She looked up at them in fright and saw her children being swallowed by a black hole, which was clearly the time-turner. The brunette approached one of the mirrors and hit it hard, but nothing happened.

"My children... come back... please," Hermione begged.

The brunette began to sob, scream and hit the mirrors in order to find a way out, but it seemed impossible.

Then the image in the mirrors changed, showing her little Rose, who was crying when she found herself alone and lost. Hermione moved forward and got on her knees in front of the mirror and with her hand she tried to caress the face of the girl with the black hair and green eyes, but all she could touch was the icy glass of the mirror.

She sat completely on the floor, finding herself desperate and began to scream and cry. A few seconds later, she stood up again and began to hit the mirrors desperately.

There came a time when after so much screaming and hitting, she got tired and it was on this occasion, when the mirrors turned again and projected the image of Harry kissing a woman just like her.

Seeing this, Hermione froze and her heart clenched and sank. Her Harry was kissing someone else and thinking it was her, and worst of all, Hermione had no way to warn him.

She began to shake her head and repeat to herself that this wasn't real, it couldn't be true.

She was trying to get that image out of her head, when she saw herself reflected in the mirror, but her reflection began to change into Hermione who was kissing Harry and she started walking towards her.

"Oh, you look pathetic. Now he's mine and you won't see him again," the brunette in the mirror teased, making Hermione realize that that kiss was also real and this made her lash out against the mirror in front of her, until she exhausted herself.

After what seemed like hours, for she didn't know how much time had passed, she began to feel herself weaken.

She had no choice but to sit in the middle, wrap her arms around her legs and rest her head on her knees, so as not to see the images in the mirrors.

In that position, she stayed processing everything that was happening and remembered that she had read something quite strange when she was investigating the time-turner. And at that very moment she remembered Professor McGonagall warning her about this.

"Just be careful, this object can tear the dimensions and alter them..." The professor warned.

Based on what she read and what the teacher had told her, she deduced what was probably going on.

The time turner altered the dimensions and led them to a place where a Hermione already existed and that was why she didn't have her wand with her and the reason she was locked in this place full of mirrors.

She instantly understood that the Harry of this dimension had died, because her Harry was out there kissing another Hermione, thinking it was her.

Another thing that alarmed her a lot was the fact that if there was another Hermione, she was living or whatever, she was going to drain her energy through her despair and her fears, leaving her lifeless.

At that moment she thought that when she died, Harry would still believe he was with her, but it would be the Hermione from this dimension who would return with Harry home and they would be able to bring their children back.

That thought made her nauseated.

She finally understood that she was trapped in what must be space-time.
