A Call to Action: Revenge of the Apple
Chapter 7
The next morning, the New Kid had prepared himself for the day he goes with Wendy to spend the day at the carnival. After making final preparations, he leaves his room and reaches for the front door.
When he opens it, he sees none other than Wendy.
"Hey New Kid. You ready to go to the carnival?" She asks him. He just stares at her. "I'll take that as a yes then." Wendy takes his hand and they begin their walk towards the destination.
"Even we have taken down the first of the Night Raiders, but the others are still out there. I know that the Apple will make its next move against us." She said to the New Kid as they cross the street towards the carnival which is right by the storage area. When they finally arrived, they see people at the area enjoy a day of fun. The area is full of food stands, games, and a few carnival rides.
"Well, handsome. Let's enjoy." Wendy said.
The two children rush in together for entertainment. First they look around to see people playing games or riding rides.
"Step right up! Take your chances at knocking down these bottles and win a prize." A man in the bottle throwing game stand said. He sees the New Kid and Wendy, "You there! You look like new here. How about you take a chance, boy?
"Do it, New Kid!" Wendy cheered.
The New Kid hands out a few bucks which the clerk man takes it. He gives him three baseballs.
"Hit the bottles and win a prize." He said to him.
The New Kid concentrates before throwing the first ball, but it misses the bottle by meters.
"Oh! Try again." The man said.
The New Kid then tries again and the second ball misses inches from the bottle.
"So close!"
"Come on, New Kid! Focus!" Wendy said.
The New Kid focuses and throws the third ball and it strikes dead center, knocking the bottles away. The man was impressed about it.
"Well I'll be. You got em! The prize is yours!" The man said as he gives the New Kid a small cute teddy bear.
Dovahkiin and Wendy walk off with their prize. Wendy leans in close which made him blush. They then ride some rides like the merry-go-round, bumper cars, and even the ferris wheel. Next, the two have some lunch to take a break for a while.
Finally they did a photo booth to take several pictures, making at least a few funny faces. As the day goes on, the two are enjoying their great time.
All of a sudden, Wendy's phone vibrate and she answers it opening up a video screen showing a figure covered by darkness.
"Yes?" She asks.
"Let me see to the New Kid..." He said in a deep voice.
"Who is this?" Wendy demanded.
"Put him on the phone." He spoke.
"It's for you," Wendy says, handing the phone to him.
"You may have defeated one of my members, but we are still powerful. If you think of returning home, then you are mistaken." He said before showing both the New Kid's parents tied to electric chairs.
"HELP!!!!" Dovakiin's mother shouted.
"What the heck is going on?!" His father shouted.
"If you want to see your parents again, you best do as I say." The figure said.
"We say no." Wendy said.
"Big mistake, Call Girl." The mystery man said before snapping his fingers.
From the background, a man is at the power switch before pulling it down. Then electricity begins electrocuting the mother and father making them shriek in agonizing pain. They also jolt from the electric, struggling. Dovahkiin was horrified to see this.
"Stop this now!" Wendy shouted.
The mystery man says nothing as the torture continues. After at least a minute, he turns to his henchman and nods, signaling him to shut off the power. The parents drop their heads, but they felt thousands of volts all over their bodies.
"Do you see now, boy?" The mystery man said.
"What do you want?" Wendy asks.
"As simple: You bring all of the data you have stolen from me. Since one of my dumbass henchman gave you the drive before taking his own life. You have three days or else you'll be receiving your parents in body bags. Three days. Do we have a deal?"
"Sweetie don't do what he says!" Dovakiin's mother said before being slapped across the face.
"Just go home! We'll figure this out!" Hos father said only to get punched across the face.
"Co-operate and they will survive. Do we have a deal?" The mystery man said to Dovahkiin.
He looks at Wendy who pleaded him. He sighs before looking at him.
"Deal." He said which made the man smile.
"Good. I'm sending you the address to my location of choice. Don't disappoint me. Apple prevails!" He said before ending the communication.
"New Kid, are you really doing this?" Wendy asks Dovahkiin.
"I have... no choice." Dovahkiin said.
"So if he wants the data, we'll give it to him." Wendy said with determination.
So it is simple, Dovahkiin and his friends are to save the parents.
