Chapter 33
Iceberg Area
The Duel Between Halil and Yuzu Begins
Halil Lp: 4000 Hand: 5

"I'll go first! I summon La Jinn, the Mystical Genie of the lamp! I then set two cards and end my turn." Halil said, summoning his first monster to the field and setting down two face-downs.

"My turn! Draw!" Yuzu said drawing a card from her deck and when she drew it she saw it was Forte causing her to smile.
"I set the Pendulum Scale with Scale 0 Piano The Melodious Diva and Scale 10 Forte the Melodious Mastera!" She said setting the Pendulum Scale.
"What? Pendulum Summon?" Halil asked, surprised. And just as both monsters appeared on the field Halil activated his Continuous Trap Absorbing Lamp negating Yuzu's Pendulum summon and took Forte and put her in his hand. Piano started to whimper when she was alone. Halil was so proud of himself for remembering that when Pendulum Cards are set they become spell cards. The only thing Yuzu could do was summon Opera the Melodious Diva from my hand. She could only end her turn since Opera can't attack the turn she is summoned.
Walking around Gong found his first opponent standing with her duel disk already activated facing away from him.
"This place is like my homeland, so I like it here. I don't feel like I'll lose to anyone here." She said, turning her head towards Gong.
"Every year on New Year's Day, I train at a snowy mountain." Gong said. With a smile the girl introduced herself as Olga from the LDS Nordic School who is an exchange student from the Synchro Course.
"A new duel is about to begin in the Iceberg Area. And what about the other duel in the Iceberg Area?" Nico said facing a hologram of Olga and Gong then Turning to the Hologram of Yuzu and Halil.
"My turn! Draw! AHHHH A Pendulum Card!" Halil said excited only to be scolded by Yuzu for telling her what card he just drew. He apologized about that since he was excited with Opera giving him a deadpan look and Piano laughing in her pillar of light.
"I'm nervous. The time has finally come. Here I go! I set the Pendulum Scale with 1 Red Fiend and Scale 10 Forte the Melodious Mastera!" He said raising both cards above his head and then placing them on his duel disk but nothing happened.
"What? Hey! Come on! Huh? Why? Even though I want to make it popular in my country, entertainment dueling is hard." He said, then checked Forte to see what was wrong, causing Yuzu to sigh and then telling him to put both cards towards the edge.
"Eh?"
"You have to put the Pendulum Cards in the Pendulum Zones that are towards the edges!" She said and Halil did what she said and replaced both cards more towards the edge and the word Pendulum appeared on his duel disk making stars appear in his eyes in excitement saying he was learning so much.
"I've paid you back for giving me a card." Yuzu said. And two pillars both monsters appeared allowing him to summon monsters between the level 2 and 9 simultaneously. When Forte looked at Yuzu she bowed her head in apology. Halil Pendulum Summoned Red lamp and Purple Lamp. he started to jump up and down at the fact that he was able to successfully Pendulum Summon. He then activated Red lamp's effect which dealt 600 points of damage since it was special summoned. It blew a gust of flame at Yuzu, reducing her life points to 3400. He then activated Purple lamp's effect which let him add Polymerization from his deck to his hand since it was special summoned but just as soon as he drew it he activated it to fuse La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the lamp and red lamp.
"The spirit called from the darkness, be reborn carrying a soul of flames! Fusion Summon! Please show up, Fire Jinn the flame Genie of the Lamp!" he said as his two monsters fused and from a pillar of fire that appeared behind him his monster emerged from.
"Whoa! He not only did Halil Pendulum Summon he also Fusion Summoned! How is Yuzu going to deal with this?" Nico said hyping the crowd up.
"I activate Fire Jinns effect! When this card is Special Summoned, you take 600 points of damage!" Halil said as his monster blew fire at Yuzu causing her to scream in shock as he reduced her life points to 2800.
"Due to Red Fiend's Pendulum effect, Fire attribute monsters on my field gain 300 attack points." He said as his monster's attack went from 2400 to 2700.
"This is bad." Yuzu said before she began running to try and find an Action Card.
"Let's battle! Fire Jinn attacks Opera the Melodious Diva!" He said and then his monster flew toward Opera who had tears appear in her eyes. Seeing this Fire Jinn stopped and scratched his check in discomfort and lightly flicked her on the forehead. After he did that he felt himself shiver and you could see the black aura coming from Forte who he bowed profusely too. Yuzu's life points went down to 2400. Then Halil attacked with Purple Lamp directly. It released a blast of black flame causing Yuzu to skid across the battlefield and when she looked up she saw an Action Card. She was able to grab it but she was still skidding and then fell off the ledge causing Halil to scream her name and jump into his monster's hands as they flew after Yuzu in panic.
Bottom of the cliff
Gongenzaka Lp: 2400 Hand: 2
Olga Lp: 2600 Hand: 1
With two monsters on Olga's field and one on Gong's field Gong ended his turn making it Olga's turn now.
" My Turn!" Olga began but before she could draw her card she heard Yuzu's scream causing her to look in the direction it was coming from which was right next to her, but before she could react Yuzu knocked her to the ground.
"Ouch…" Yuzu said, sitting on top of Olga.
"Yuzu?" Gong said surprised.
"Gongenzaka?" She replied back just as surprised to see him.
"Hey! (Yuzu looks down) What's with you? Get off me or I'll make you pay!" Olga said very mad. Yuzu apologized and very quickly got off of Olga then looked at her duel disk changed to Battle Royal Mode Joining, changing the single duel into a Tag Duel. Both Yuzu and Gong looked at their duel disk confused. Olgo finally got up only for Halil to appear in his monster's arm right behind her skiing what does this mean as he pointed at his duel disk.
"Two separate duels have crossed paths in the Iceberg Area. There it is! There will be a tag duel between the Hiiragi-Gongenzaka team and the Halil-Olga team!" Nico said.
"Yuzu and Gongenzaka formed a tag team?" Tatsuya said surprised.
"This development gives me the shivers!" Futoshi said in excitement trying very hard not to shake in his seat but failing miserably at it while Ayu looked on in worry.
Ancient Ruins
Shun Lp: 1500 Hand: 3
Bram Lp: 2800 Hand: 4
Carl Lp: 2800 Hand: 4
Wanting to avenge their fellow knight, Shun was in the middle of a duel Bram and Carl from the Knights of Duel school when Ashley showed up. He activated his duel disk when he saw Shun and received a 2000 points penalty for just jumping in.
"Hey it's Three on one that's not fair even though he's the mean man!" Futoshi said.
"But wait, why did he receive a penalty but Yuzu didn't? I mean she interrupted a duel like him right?" Ayu asked, pointing at the green knight as she looked at Shuzo for an answer.
"I shall explain!" Nico said when he heard a lot of people asking the same thing the three kids were wondering.
"In Hiiragi's case, she was already in a duel with Halil but Ashley wasn't dueling anyone when he joined the battle, so he was given a penalty." Nico said and a lot of people understood, but didn't like the fact that now it was a three on one duel.
"So now we're trying to overpower with numbers huh." Shun said. He closed his eyes and then when he opened them he had the same look in his eyes from his duel against Sora causing the nights to brace themselves.
"COME AT ME WITH EVERYTHING YOU GOT AND I WILL SHOW YOU MY POWER!" Shun yelled, scaring some of the small children in the crowd fearing a repeat of destruction from his duel with Sora.
"My turn! Draw!" Ashley said, starting his turn.
Below the dual area the person from Fusion was walking around trying to find anyone. And above Shun's head two ninja's were running as if looking for something.
Iceberg Area

Gongenzaka Lp: 2400 Hand: 2
"Finally I can go. Draw! I tune Level 3 Glacial Beast Polar Penguin with My level 4 Glacial Beast Blizzard Wolf!" She said, drawing her card from her deck then tuning both of her monsters together.
"Underestimating it will be fatal as it stabs with an iceberg horn! Synchro Summon! Come out, Level 7 Glacial Beast Iceberg Narwhal!" she said as her monster appeared from an iceberg.
"Okay, Iceberg Narwhal attack Yuzu directly!" Olga said.
"I activate Evasion!" Yuzu said as she activated the action card she got from the cliff she fell from.
"I activate Iceberg Narwhal's Effect! When a spell or trap card is activated during its attack, the effect is negated, and your card is destroyed!" Olga said and Yuzu could only watch in horror as the spell card was frozen and burst into dust and the monster was close to hitting her and her friends and dad screaming her name in fear.
"I activate Superheavy Samurai Blowtorch's effect! When your monster attacks, I can change the attack target to this card!" Gong said with his monster releasing a lot of fire, shocking Olga as her monster changed its target from Yuzu to Gong's monster.
"Once per turn, Superheavy Samurai Blowtorch can't be destroyed in battle!" Gong said as his monster stood gallantly taking the attack, but Olga told Gong that he can't avoid the damage. Gong was blown back from a shockwave from Narwhal, reducing his life points to 200. Yuzu ran to check on him but he told her to not panic and that he was fine.
"Why did you sacrifice yourself for me?" She asked but he told her this was a team battle and not to worry about it since she would do the same thing for him if their roles were reversed.
"Gongenzaka…" She said very touched.
"Gongenzaka protected Hiiragi!" Nico said and the crowd began to chant Gong's name in respect causing his father to beam in pride.
"You're the man Gongenzaka!" Ayu cheered followed by Shuzo saying good job.
Ancient Ruins
Watching the duel the Fusion duelist smiled and began to walk away not seeing the screen change to show Shun dueling with his Xyz monster on the field.
'We almost found a worthy opponent to prove our worth, Neos.' they thought.
"Battle! Raidraptor-Rise Falcon, slice everything! Brave Claw Revolution!" He said as his monster flew into the sky with a mighty roar and then came straight down on all three of his opponents, reducing their life points to zero.
"They're not worthy of becoming Lancers." Shun said, pointing at them and then leaving them behind. In the Jungle Area Ruri looked at her brother in sadness.
'Nii-San…' She thought and then Ken Umesugi from Royozanpaku found her. She turned to look at them, shocking him.
"Yuzu Hiiragi?! Wait aren't you in a duel in the Iceberg Area?!" He asked and then looking at the hologram showing that indeed Yuzu was in the middle of a duel he shook his head and asked Ruri if she had two Pendulum Cards. She never answered him but just revealed she had eight. He grinned and activated his duel disk and they both began their duel with Ruri watching him very closely since she saw Isao's duel and knew that since Ken is from the same school, he probably would play dirty.
Iceberg Area

Gongenzaka Lp: 200 Hand: 2
"My turn! Draw! I summon Superheavy Samurai Gigagloves!" Gong said, drawing a card from his deck then summoning that very card in defense position. He then discarded one of his Superheavy Samurai to special Summon the level 2 tuner monster, Superheavy Samurai Trumpeter.
"Here I go! I tune my Level 2 Trumpeter with my Level 1 Blowtorch and Level 3 Gigagloves! Roar god demon! Arrive at the raging battlefield of ice and snow! Synchro Summon! Come to the front lines, level 6 Superheavy Samurai Ogre Shutendoji!" Gong said as he summoned his new monster in defense position.
"When Shutendoji is Synchro Summoned and there aren't any spell or trap cards in my graveyard, all spell and trap cards on both your fields are destroyed!" Gong said and he destroyed Olga's set card and both of Halil's set cards including the Pendulum cards.
"Since the Continuous Trap Absorbing Lamp is destroyed, your card that I took using its effect returns to your hand. This is unfortunate" Halil said, disappointed, then tossing Forte back to Yuzu.
"All right! Welcome back Forte!" Yuzu Said and Piano began cheering. And Fire Jinn's attack went back to normal since Halil's Red Fiend was destroyed.
"Shutendoji can attack while in defense position! Let's battle! Attack Fire Jinn!" Gong said as his monster threw its club at Fire Jinn destroying it and finally inflicting some damage to Halil's life points.
"All right!" Gong said very pleased and Yuzu telling him that was very impressive since he turned the tables.
"Are you sure about that?" Halil said, causing both Yuzu and Gongenzaka to look at him in confusion.
"When Fire Jinn is destroyed, I can destroy the monster it battled by tributing one lamp monster. And you take 600 points of damage.
"What?" Gong said.
"I tribute Purple Lamp to activate Fire Jinn's effect!" Halil said as Fire Jinn merged with Purple Lamp leaving only his head right on top of the monster. It charged at Gong's monster, destroying it and inflicting 600 points of damage, reducing Gong's life points to zero causing Yuzu to shout his name in worry. As she ran to check on him Olga activated her monster's effect.
"Once per turn, when there's effect damage, you take damage equal to that amount!" Olga's monster lifted its arm and then shot ice shards at Yuzu, reducing her life points to 200.
"Yuzu Onii-Chan!" Ayu yelled in worry as Shuzo cried with tears falling down his face as Yoko held him back, preventing him from jumping out of his seat to try and find his daughter.
"Yuzu…" Gong called out as he slowly got up.
"Gongenzaka…" She said turning toward him in concern.
"I passed the baton to you. Finish this with your steadfast entertainment dueling!" He told her.
"Gongenzaka… I understand." She said and then turned to Halil who said he was learning a lot from her and Gong's wonderful friendship but reminded her that she only has 200 life points left and that when it's his turn then this duel is over.
"Not Yet! I watched your entertainment dueling, so please watch mine and learn something new! My turn! DRAW!" she said as she drew her card.
Halil Lp: 3900 Hand: 0
Olga Lp: 2600 Hand: 2
Yuzu Lp: 800 Hand: 4
Gongenzaka Lp: 0
"Ladies and Gentlemen! Please cheer loud for my two diva's so they know that it's show time!" Yuzu said and the crowd cheered very loudly that Yuzu could hear the faint cheers from where she was.
"I set the Pendulum Scale with the already-placed Piano the Melodious Diva and Scale 10 Forte the Melodious Mastera!" She said placing Forte on her duel disk again and in her pillar she sang a beautiful tune as Piano waved at her causing her to wave back.
"Now I can summon monsters between level 1 and 9 simultaneously! Pendulum Summon! You're up! Soprano the Melodious Songstress! And Mozarta the Melodious Maestra! With Soprano, I can Fusion Summon without using Polymerization! I fuse Soprano and Mozarta! Echoing voice and song of angels! Guided by the baton, gather your power! Fusion Summon! Now, come to the stage and sing your song of victory! Bloom Diva the Melodious Choir!" Yuzu said as both her monsters fused causing a flower to appear and then when it bloomed it revealed her monster.
"Let's Battle! Bloom Diva attacks Iceberg Narwhal! Bloom Diva can't be destroyed in battle against a special summoned monster, and the damage I take is instead sent to you and your monster is destroyed!" Yuzu said as her monster attacked Olga's monster.
"But I'll still have life points left!" Olga said but Yuzu smiled and activated her Quick-Play Spell Pianissimo, reducing Bloom Diva's attack to 100 till the end of the turn.
"WHAT?" Olga said.
"The stage is set! Bloom Diva, sing with all your might! Reflect Shout!" Yuzu said, and her monster destroyed Narwhal and reduced Olga's life points to zero.
"I'm learning a lot from your wonderful dueling!" Halil said. Yuzu told him he was next but he told her she didn't have a monster to attack with. She smiled confidently and then activated Quick-Play Spell De-Fusion to separate Bloom Diva back into Soprano and Mozarta and then she attacked with both of her monsters ending the duel.
"Yuzu Hiiragi won using beautiful entertainment dueling! The Hiiragi-Gongenzaka team gets the four wagered Pendulum Cards." Nico said.
"They did it!" Ayu, Futoshi, Tatsuya said.
"That fires me up! My blood is boiling!" Shuzo said, with tears falling down his face.
"Now it's Yuya's turn to win his duel!" Yoko said excitedly as she looked at her son dueling Sheba in the Volcano Area with excitement and everyone agreeing with her.
