"Hey, Sam, you wanna give me a hand with this?" Mia asked as they were both getting ready to close up shop for the night."

"Yeah, su-

But she was immediately distracted when the front door to the place opened and she noticed a woman she didn't recognize walking up to her.

Mia, who'd been trying to figure out something with the computer, came over to Sam's side when she looked up and saw.

"Oh, sorry, we're closed. Would you like to make an appointment?"

"That won't be necessary." The woman answered. "Are you Samantha Macher-Loomis."

"Sam." She corrected. "...but, yeah. Is there a problem?"

"Sam, my apologies." The woman replied, pulling out a bage. "My name is Detective Devona Wilkes, I'd like to ask you some questions about your friend, Daniela Hahn. Would you be willing to come down to the station with me?"

"Oh my God, did something happen to her?" Mia chimed in, concerned

Detective Wilkes looked up at her. "You knew her too?"

"Not..personally." Mia explained. "I think Sam's mentioned her a few times."

She nodded.

Knew

"Yeah.." Sam scoffed hoping she wouldn't notice. "Sure, I can do that. My bike's parked out back, can I just follow you there?"

The detective nodded. "I'll walk with you.

Sam nodded as she collected her things. "Mia, could you do me a favor and give Kinsey a call, let her know what's going on?"

Mia already had her phone out. "On it."

"Thanks." She sighed, leading the detective out the back way with her.

Detective Wilkes appeared to be more sympathetic than Sam had originally given her credit to be, when she brought her back to be questioned.

"Can I get you anything? Maybe some water or…?"

"I'm okay, thanks."

She nodded. "I'm very sorry this was how you had to hear it, Sam. Were you and Dani very close?"

Sam shrugged. "I thought we were…..but then, when everything went down with Nat, back in Woodsboro….now she can't even stand to look at me. Or...couldn't I guess."

Wilkes nodded. "We had some witnesses who told us that she and you had an altercation, early this morning. "Do you wanna tell me about that?"

"An altercation?"

"Yes." Wilkes answered. "Their words, and we have to ask."

"Well, It wasn't an altercation." Sam clarified. "Not on my part, anyway"

"So, tell me about it, then."

"Well, we hadn't talked in a few years, not since…" She scoffed. "...so, she showed up near my work, said she wanted to talk about things."

The detective nodded. "What kinds of things?"

Sam sighed. "Things thaaat…..turned into accusations which, long story short, really just all boil down to her not being able to handle how I stopped her sister."

The detective barely looked up from her notes as Sam talked.

"...and how did you stop her sister?" She asked.

Sam had to take a moment to consider how to best, carefully, answer the question and raise the least amount of new ones.

"Well, she was coming at me, would've tried to come for my girlfriend, so I had to stab her…...until she…."

The detective looked at her, considerably shocked by the answer, but kept her calm, sympathetic composure.

"Okay...and do you have an alibi for earlier today?"

Sam looked up at her suspiciously

"I was working. I can give you my manager's contact information, if you need it…."

She offered a reassuring smile as she reached for a paper and pen for Sam, as she listened to her go on.

"...My girlfriend, Kinsey and I had lunch together during my break, and then…..here we are."

"Here we are." The detective repeated, gently.

"Mia, who you met back at the shop, has been working for most of the day too."

"I'll make a note of it."

Sam nodded. "...Was there anything else?"

"I think that should do it." She answered. "We'll let you know if we need you for anything else."

"Yeah, I know the drill." Sam sighed, standing up when Detective Wilkes did.

"I'll walk you out."

As Wilkes was standing there, watching as Sam left the station, another detective decided to catch up with her.

"You think she did it?" He asked.

"Hello to you too, Taylor." She chuckled. "You think she could?"

"I think anything's possible." He chuckled. "You do know who her parents are, don't you?"

"Yeah, the Macher-Loomis wasn't exactly subtle." She scoffed. "This isn't about some conspiracy theory of yours that you think happened in the past though. This is about some poor girl that was found in a motel parking lot tonight."

"Gee, Wilkes. Tell us how you really feel." He scoffed, taking a sip from his coffee.

"Just telling you how it is, Taylor." She sighed. "...I just think that poor girl's been through enough by now, is all."

""If you say so." He scoffed, before taking off. "Gotta get back to work"

"Who's stopping you?" She chuckled, going her separate way.

Meanwhile, as Sam was exiting the police station, Kinsey came running up to her.

"Sam, oh my God, are you okay?!" She panicked. "I came as soon as I heard!'

"Yeah, I'm fine. Never been better." Sam scoffed, just wanting to change the subject.

"What about Seth? How's he holding up?"

"Inconsolably." Kinsey sighed. "Apparently he was the one who found her….that way."

"Jesus…."

"Yeah he...uh…." Kinsey sighed. "He went over there when she'd stopped answering his messages, I guess he was gonna let her stay with him for a bit."

"Guess I'll give him shit for that later

"Well, there's more than that, Sam." She sighed. "Apparently some conspiracy nuts online found the pictures he posted of that fucking Ghostface costume he wore to Dani's party three years ago, before…"

"I told him not to post those!" Sam blurted out.

"Right…" Kinsey chuckled. "Just chalk it up to the yell at him for it later shit list.

"Already way ahead of you, Kinz." Sam chuckled with a small smirk.

She reached for Kinsey's hand, smiling even wider now at her.

"Let's just get out of here, I'll give you a ride home."

Kinsey smiled back at her. "Sounds good to me."

Sam lifted her hand up to kiss it, just before leading her towards the motorcycle.
