Happy new year everyone. Ready for the next chapter of the peace summit arc? I sure am. Sorry for the long delay I've had a lot of personal stuff happening in my life and had some terrible writer's block but at last have the chapter completed.
Lorenzo Macchiavelli: Glad you like the fights
Century: Referencing Lord of the rings is always fun to do.
Nylock: Sorry my friend I cannot rush this story you must be patient for when the next chapter is posted.
Destroyer: Sona and Rias are smart women I'm certain one of them will come up with a plan to stop her.
Nazgul60: Don't forget Rossweisse is aiding Azrael against Katerea. Will just have to see what fate befalls the old Satan's in this chapter.
Terror: Indeed you shouldn't. Yes, Kuroka does want sex but for good reasons to see her people return. Who doesn't love Akeno? She's the best girl right next to Rossweisse. Hahaha.
King Scarlet: Ehhh that's a Kratos thing, not a Thor thing. As I said before Thor is trying to control his rage but even if he does then we know the warmth of Rossweisse can tame the beast.
Horakthybaraq: Azazel now has a son and he saw Vali as a son too. Vali he wasn't concerned about since he is super powerful. His biological son, however, is just a hybrid fallen angel so of course, he would show more concern for his safety and the women who raised Azrael. Hopefully, with that pep talk Gasper will join the battle.
Barricade: You think so? Let's find out.
Livewire: good question. A question that will be answered eventually.
Optimus470: Well Odin went to the Underworld so obviously Thor should go.
With a wave of her hand an undead Draugr took the blast of Rias Gremory's attack, for all the talk about being powerful and smart the heiress of the Gremory family was failing those traits as was Sona Sitri and both their Queen's. Taking note of the young Sitri heiress and Priestess of Thunder unite their thunder and water spells in the hope of breaking her defenses, again the Lich Queen answered by sending two Cyclops to act as a shield against the attack adding layered defense barriers behind them to take the rest of the attack if it breaks through. As predicted the one-eyed giants took the brunt of the attack while the rest was stopped by the barrier and whatever remained was easily absorbed into the staff and sent back toward the Devils. All these children could do was dodge or block their redirected attacks, the girl's struggle was pointless, they couldn't land a hit on her. It was time to end this battle, whatever they planned next would be stopped and these bats would be eradicated by their own spells.
Across the battlefield, Sona pushed her glasses into place, "Our spells are useless against her. Perhaps I should have left the Lich Queen to your brother."
"If he wasn't needed to hold the barrier to protect Gasper he would. Besides he told us specifically to stop her. We can do this, Sona. We have to show we can fight our own battles and be worthy of leading our Peerages and families."
"You always have a way with words but I don't think they will help us here."
"You're right. Which is why we aren't using enough brute force. If Issei was here he could probably blast right through these monsters but he is facing Vali with Thor."
Rias' thought drifted to Issei, how were her adorable Pawn and the Prince of Asgard going to defeat the White Dragon Emperor? Not only was he more skilled but also Lucifer's descendant; a host of the White Dragon and Pureblood Devil hybrid was truly a force to be reckoned with but there had to be a way to defeat him. Issei had Ascalon which could hurt dragons, and Thor was a God so he could hold his own, and being part Devil meant Vali was also weak against anything related to Heaven. Her mind stopped abruptly at the last thought.
…anything related to Heaven…
"That's it!" She cried aloud, she knew exactly how to stop the Lich Queen but this plan would be detested by her Queen, however, if it would win the battle it had to be done. Turning her head to the sky she called to her best friend, "Akeno! Use your Holy Lighting!"
Despite being in the middle of a battle the Akeno stiffened as hesitation filled her thoughts, she knew what Rias was talking about, what she wanted to use against the Lich Queen, the power inherited from her father. She promised after becoming a Devil she'd never use her father's power yet that promise was broken in the battle against Kokabiel to erase Saul from existence and now Rias wanted her to use it once more. Akeno loved Rias for saving and giving her a new life, she loved her as a sister and vowed to always stay by her side but that didn't mean she would obey every order, and right now came an order, no, a plea that depended on her choice to not rely on her Fallen Angel powers or use them to defeat their foe. Rias was serious in saying she would help fix her problems and the first step was for Akeno to accept herself despite the pain of the past, if using Holy Lighting to protect Rias was the first step to accepting herself then so be it.
Raising her right hand Akeno called upon the power of heaven unleashing it towards the Lich Queen who, as she feared, absorbed the spell and sent it back at the hybrid who certainly would have been severely hurt or killed if not for Tsubaki suddenly jump in the way of the attack with hands outstretched before her. Akeno would have shoved her away but a mirror the size of Tsubaki appeared in front of the Sitir Queen, as soon as the lightning hit the mirror it copied the Lich Queen's skill to absorb and redirect it back at the human woman which startled her greatly. With a wave of her hand, she commanded the zombies to form a human shield to protect her but the power behind the lightning bolt shot through each undead like a stick skewering meat for a kabob. Fear flashed in the Lich Queen's eyes and, realizing her undead could not stop the attack, cast a second defense spell as a last line of protection the hope of such an attempt was shattered as the Holy Lighting obliterated the magic seal and hit the Necromancer square in the chest. With a cry of pain, the Lich Queen's staff clattered to the floor with herself following suit as smoke rose from her chest where a nasty burn mark could be spotted upon her cleavage.
"Your Sacred Gear." Said Akeno, "I forgot you were gifted with one."
Tsubaki nodded to her fellow Queen, "Mirror Alice. It does what Lich Queen was doing; absorbing and redirecting attacks back but with twice the power hence the reason why it was able to break her defenses. Rias knew your holy powers were strong and combined with my Sacred Gear gave it the strength to win."
Akeno smiled at Rias who smiled back, of course, Rias Gremory made a simple plan so effective. The plan didn't just work but even started Akeno on the road to accepting her true self, her Fallen Angel heritage, she knew it wouldn't be easy but for Rias, Havarti, Thor, and everyone she called family and friends she would try for them. Movement from below showed the Lich Queen, supported by a Minotaur and giving back her staff, glaring daggers into Akeno and Rias, she knew with that wound sustained by the Holy Lightning the battle was lost she could no longer provide the Old Satan's with her army. The Most Powerful Necromancer slammed her staff to the floor and in a brilliant flash of green vanished in a teleportation circle, her portals summoning her army vanishing as well leaving what remained of it to throw themselves at the living. Akeno shook her head, Lich Queen was defeated but not her army but at least they didn't have an endless wave of corpses coming at them.
An explosion from afar drew the Fallen Angel hybrid's attention to the Old Satan's battles; Shalba dodging and blocking swipes from Azazel's spear, Azrael and Rossweisse trading spells with Katerea, and Creuserey…Creuserey sent Serafall flying into the school after breaking free of a brawl he was having with her. The old Asmodeus's hair broke free from the ponytail it was tied into and his clothes had rips and tears everywhere, his cape was gone and blood flowed from a head wound and his breathing was labored. Of all the fights occurring in the schoolyard they had the most brutal with neither holding back in their attacks but now it looked as if Creuserey had won…at least until Serafall came flying from the smoke. Like Asmodeus; she was bleeding with her hair free from its twin tails making it fly all about and her clothes ruined from the attacks she received.
Either Serafall was stronger than she let on or was fighting tooth and nail to ensure the safety of her little sister but whatever the reason her title as the strongest female Devil was well-earned. Further away she saw flashes of thunder, the fury Thor unleashed upon Vali for hurting his mother she understood…however, his mother still lived…
"Akeno!"
The Priestess of Thunder's attention was diverted to Rias who thankfully wasn't sporting any wounds of the sorta. Knowing where her duties lie she quickly approached her King ready to apply healing magic, though not as efficient as Asia's Twilight Healing's power her skills in the art of healing were nonetheless significant. A quick overview was enough to say her master only needed to rest from using so much magic.
"The tide of battle is turning in our favor," Tsubaki said as she surveyed the battle; the undead that had surrounded them were now being swatted aside like flies by the great hammer, fists, and even feet of Vandill who still was in his giant form, each attack sent hundreds of corpses flying in all directions to be picked off by spears of light by Angels and Fallen Angels who at last managed to seal the portal sending the mages through. All that remained of the Khaos Brigade were the undead and the Old Satan descendants.
More thunder flashing in the distance brought Tsubaki's thoughts into voice, "I hope Hyoudou and Lord Odinson are holding their own against the White Dragon Emperor."
Meanwhile
Thor ducked and dodged each strike Vali sent his way Thor really had to thank Baldur for the lessons he taught him of hand-to-hand combat; wear down your enemy by dodging as many attacks as you can until finding an opening, unfortunately, the only lesson he could use for now was dodge and stay out of range to not get halved by the Heavenly Dragon's power. Despite sustaining a wound from Ascalon and a surprise attack by the Thunder God himself, Vali Lucifer was proving to be more deadly than anticipated by still managing to move at great speed, nearly making contact with him on more than one but always missing by mere inches. This fight was not enjoyable to the God of Thunder, usually, he would love fighting someone but Vali nor Bikou neither was fun, Bikou stalled and annoyed him and Vali hurt his mother. His mother…if Freya was here she could have possibly overpowered the cocky boy but that bastard attacked her first and who knows how long it would take to recover from three divides. Thor had heard tales of how fierce a warrior his mother was in the Aesir-Vanir war both in swordsmanship and magic which he was certain would put Vali on the ropes.
"Is this all you can do, Son of Odin? Was your plan to catch me off guard and beat me that way? Not a very smart plan on your part. Then again you do prefer brawn over brains which you don't have much of by the way you planned your attack. I told you before it's hopeless to defeat me, a being such as myself, one who has the blood of a Pureblood Devil and dragon makes me nigh-invulnerable! It shows I am better than everyone and with your defeat, even Gods will fear me!"
Yeah, keep riding that horse and I'll knock you off it eventually! Thor said to himself as he tried coming up with a plan to beat his opponent. So far long-range attacks had no effect from absorption giving him the strength to recover and hand-to-hand contact would just cut his power in half hence Thor relying only on dodging which also meant melee combat wasn't worth trying since Jarnbjorn would be halved. Poor Jarnbjorn was nothing special in power and status like Mjolnir and Gungnir, it was just a plain axe just as Freyr owned a plain sword, well it looked like a plain sword but it could fight on its own. Did anybody in Asgard know the name of that sword even?
Going in half-cocked with the intent of beating Vali within an inch of his life was a tactic that definitely wouldn't work especially against one of the Heavenly Dragons. He got into this situation he would find a way out with Vali on the ground defeated. Being part Devil meant Vali was weak against light, crosses, and holy water none of which he had with him, not even a freaking bible to bash his face in with, only Ascalon could harm Lucifer's descendant, and only Issei could use the weapon now that he transferred it into his Sacred Gear. Speaking of Issei, the Red Dragon Emperor was last seen conversing with Rossweisse about something. If the silver-haired genius figured out a way to stop Vali then hopefully Issei was listening and not staring at her breasts but if he was…
"Hey, Vali!"
Streaking toward Lucifer's descendant like a red comet came Issei clad in his armor with gauntlets shining brightly. Hope bristled within Thor, so Issei still had some fight in him after all. If the Norms are kind they will have weaved Vali's fate to fall by their hands.
Have a care Vali, between my rival and the God of Thunder you may be pushing yourself.
Vali scoffed, My rival is barely holding his own and I have Odin's son in the ropes. If either touches me I can divide them and gain power. It's time to show Asgard why I envy the infinite and pursue the dream!
No, Vali! That only is for a last resort!
Which I know will not be needed for either of them!
Vali burst towards Issei, his rival was the weaker of the two so he'd be the quicker one to deal with first. Closer and closer he drew to Issei the Red Dragon never stopping in his charge, when he was at arm's length he threw his arm forward to bury his fist into Issei and divide him. To his surprise he was met by the flat side of Ascalon, the blade shimmering faintly blue when it made contact with Vali's fist. Suddenly the blade exploded with magic as seals formed around the startled Lucifer descendant before fading just as quickly as they appeared. Issei swung the blade lightly glancing off his rival's gauntlet as he was swiftly kicked away.
Valu tackled him in the air, holding onto him tightly to divide him but nothing happened, no declaration by the Albion or bust of power. Confusion flashed behind Vali's mask, Albion what happened? Why are you not Dividing Hyoudou?
His attention was drawn to Thor, the Prince of Asgard was laughing as if he just heard a joke. This sudden outburst changed Vali's confusion into anger. What was he laughing about!?
"What's so funny!?" He demanded.
Partner! Albion cried within his host's mind. My power is sealed!"
"What!?" Roared Vali, rage bursting forth like a volcano, when did Issei learn sealing magic and be strong enough to seal him? He couldn't have been hiding that talent he'd have used it sooner than later unless he wanted Thor to wear him out until the right moment. No, this couldn't be his rival's doing, he was too stupid and weak to come up with a plan like this and those seals on Ascalon were not demonic but magic…Norse magic…
Nose magic…
…no…
"Way to do, Rossweisse!" Thor whooped, understanding now what she had been talking about with Issei. She had layered Ascalon with sealing magic and upon making contact with Vali activated and seal his power. Which meant he was wide open for an ass-whooping. Calling upon his magic reserves he began unleashing volleys of thunderbolts at Vali.
Seeing the danger he was in Vali began evading every attack thrown at him by the God of Thunder. Damn that Valkyrie, if she's strong enough to seal him meant she was a foe to be reckoned with…and worth getting payback after defeating Odin's son. As he dodged to the left he was too slow to dodge the axe that came after the spell, Jarnbjorn didn't hit his body but sliced through his left wing sending him spiraling out of control. As he struggled he failed to see Issei punch him hard face towards Thor who performed a double axe handle slam that cracked with thunder, the force of the attack redirected Vali towards the earth with a loud boom.
"I gotta say your silver-haired hot- uh I mean - Ros-Roo…"
"Rossweisse."
"Rossweisse. Yeah. She's a genius. She said using my transfer power will double her magic and it worked. Now that Vali's cut off from his dividing powers. We can give him the ass-whooping he deserves for insulting me!"
"And hurting my mother."
Inside the crater Vali was seething with rage, this was not how things were supposed to be. He was stronger than them! He was the White Dragon Emperor and Lucifer's descendant! He was supposed to win not them!
Albion can you break the seals!?
I can but you won't be able to use magic for quite a while.
"How long is quite a while!?"
Until I break them.
Then get to work! I may have lost the power to divide but I still have my Devil heritage!
Rolling away from a punch by Issei, Vali spread his six Devil wings and barreled into Issei with the force of a bullet train sending punch after punch into his rival not letting up until sending him skidding across the floor with a hard punch to the stomach. With Issei out of the way, Vali turned his attention to Thor dodging every spell fired at him as he closed the distance to attack but Thor was a split second quicker by throwing his arm forward to parry the punch while summoning in his left hand Jarnbjorn and swinging it downwards as he kicked his leg out towards the wound from Ascalon causing the White Dragon Emperor to block the kick. As he raised his hand to catch the axe confusion filled Vali's mind as the weapon left Thor's hand spinning off into the distance towards the battlefield, whatever plan he assumed Thor had was interrupted by the God of Thunder grabbing into him tightly as magic began forming around the redhead.
"What are you doing!?" Vali demanded, he was answered by a bolt of thunder striking the both of them and all went white.
On the schoolyard
"We should find Kuroka and bring her to justice." Said Rias.
Akeno's eyes narrowed, rescuing Havarti was just as important as capturing the Nekoshou. If that Stray Devil hurt her precious little man she would rain holy fury upon her. Such attempts to look and rescue him were cut short by the sudden appearance of Vandill's giant face covering her whole vision, making her jump in surprise.
"Do not fret. Let Vandill the Valiant and the Emerald Valkyrie rescue Havi the Dwarf."
"Vandill the Valiant," Chuckled Rias watching the Jotun and Valkyrie go in search of the Dwarf, "My new Rook has been very brave today. He is worthy of that title. Now that the Lich Queen is driven off my brother and Grayfia can join the battle and reduce these zombies to nothing."
Directing her attention towards the sky she watched Leviathan's descendant shield herself against a barrage of magic spells by Rossweisse while Azrael tried swooping around to attack from behind, the attempt failed no thanks to Beelzebub once more casting a spell to protect her. Rias noticed Shalba was making sure to stay as close to Leviathan as best he could to protect her while still fighting Azazel, the red-haired heiress knew what must be done, spreading her wings she readied herself to aid the Valkyrie and Fallen Angel hybrid but stopped short when noticing Creuserey deliver a devesting punch to Serafall's stomach and use all his remaining magic to blast her at point-blank range when it ended gravity pulled Serafall down to earth. Fear gripped Rias' heart, no way Serafall can fall to Asmodeus' descendent, she was the strongest female Devil in the Underworld but seeing Serafall Leviathan struggle to move proved her wrong, she had been hit with an attack that left her defeated.
"How pitiful. For someone called the Strongest Woman of the Underworld you sure put that title to shame. That traitor Grayfia is more suitable for it than you." Despite his own wounds Creuserey couldn't stop to gloat over his victory, "Now it is time I show you the true power of a Sa-"
To Rias surprise, Asmodeus's descendent suddenly froze like a statue. It was almost as if he was… looking back up at the building her eyes widened as she saw Gasper staring directly at Asmodeus, eyes glowing brightly. Pride and joy swelled within her at that moment… Gasper was using his powers, he was controlling his Sacred Gear! However, her joy soon faded when her Bishop shut his eyes and collapsed to the floor, ok, so he didn't have full control over it but at least he tried. Returning her gaze back to Asmodeus she saw him unfreeze and raise his hand to fire a spell but as he did a blue and gold blur flashed in front of him forcing the old Satan to retreat. The blur revealed itself as Freya, Queen of the Valkyries, in hand a beautifully crafted sword that was stained with blood, Creuserey Asmodeus's blood to be precise! Lying next to Freya's dress was Creusery's hand, the fact that Asmodeus's descendent was holding back a cry of pain showed he had a high tolerance for it.
"This madness stops now!" Asgard's queen announced as Sirzechs and Grayfia slowly floated out to join the battle, Micheal stood back to keep guard over the exhausted Dhampir and Asia.
Anger filled Shalba, the tide was turning against them, The Lich Queen was defeated, all the Nilrem mages were destroyed, and now that Sirzechs and the traitor Grayfia joined the battle it was over. What was worse was that the White Dragon Emperor announced he only needed Khaos Brigade for information, if he sees Lucifer's descendant he would make sure to test that brat a lesson not to use the Old Satans as he had and he knew exactly what to do when it was time to face him. But now was not the time, now it was time to fly and fight another day.
"Creuserey, Katerea, it is time to go!" Shalba declared after blocking another attack by Azazel. He had to admit Azazel and the Valkyrie had proven to be powerful opponents, of course, the silver-haired maiden was boosted by the Red Dragon Emperor but to see her stand her own against Leviathan's descendant showed her skills were not to be trifled with. Even Azazel's son proved his worth against Katarea, a shame he wasn't dead but that gave Katarea all the more reason to kill him the next time she met him.
"No!" Creuserey roared, eyes bulging with rage, "We can do this!
"Your bravery is admirable, Creuserey but this fight is pointless." Sirzechs said, "Surrender and no more blood will be shed."
"We will never surrender to the likes of you!" Katerea sneered, her last attack allowing her to come to her fellow Satan's aid, "We will rule the Underworld and take our rightful place as the true kings!"
Sirzechs sighed, he didn't want it to come to this but it's as Freya said pride will be their downfall, all Pureblood Devils took pride in themselves; some, however, knew to keep it in check. As he prepared to eradicate the two Satans something caught his eye, turning skyward he saw it was Thor's axe crackling with thunder, the godly weapon drew the eyes of the others and wondered how it was thrown so far. Suddenly a large thunderbolt came crashing out of the sky and from it came Thor clinging to a struggling Vali, what baffled the Satan was why Vali wasn't dividing Thor's power. Still holding tightly to his foe Thor began to fly higher into the air and nearly hit the barrier before turning back to the earth spinning rapidly like a top as thunder cracked and sparked around him, second before impact Thor released the White Dragon Emperor to slam head first into the earth with a thunderous boom and such force it made a creator in the schoolyard.
Sirzechs sighed, so much destruction to the school. At least the cleanup will be easy.
Vali burst from the creator, his armor was cracked and part of the helmet was gone revealing a blue eye filled with rage as blood ran down the side of his head. No word came from Albion which meant he was still struggling with the seals, if the Valkyrie didn't seal his power, Thor wouldn't stand a chance against him and that same Valkyrie was right there wide open for attack. Any plans of going after her were thwarted when Jarnbjorn landed in front of the Devil hybrid followed by Thor appearing in front of him fist already thrown toward the Heavenly Dragons unprotected face sending him tumbling backward, he recalled the teleportation power being used against Kokabiel and now he was facing that same power.
"You are full of so much arrogance and pride!" Yelled Thor batting away an attempted strike by Vali before getting up in his face, arm stretched back with palm opened, "I'm gonna slap it out of you!"
Of all the things Azazel has seen in his life the descendant of Lucifer being slapped in the face repeatedly by Odin's son was a sight he never thought to see nor ever forget. He wanted to laugh to Heaven at the comical sight but that would leave him vulnerable against Shalba whose gaze was still on him but flickered to the battle against the Devil and God. Vali's head swung left to right from each rapid slap by Thor and when the last one came it sent the White Dragon Emperor spinning backward while Thor took up his axe and lunged at Vali to end the fight.
Half Dimension!
Blue eyes widened as power burst forth from Vali as he caught the axe mid-swing which started to shrink, hastily Thor released the weapon and watched it grow smaller and smaller until it looked like a toy for children to play with, poor Jarnbojrn, would the weapon return to normal size or stay as it was? Whatever happened to it would not help him at the moment; now that Vali had his powers back and made Jarnbjorn useless, the tables had turned in Vali's favor again. Looks like it's back to dodging again.
"You are dead, God of Thunder." Growled Vali as his armor reformed around him with wings spread wide to dispute power from his wings. How dare he slap him like a child, how dare he try to humble the White Dragon Emperor! Bursting forward like a jet taking off he slammed into Thor before the God could dodge running him deep into the ground hands around his throat as he began dividing.
Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide!
Over and over again Albion cried the power he was born with, each time Thor felt himself grow weaker and weaker as he struggled to free himself from the Heavenly Dragon's grip. He could feel everything fading; strength, stamina, magic reserve…all of it was being divided repeatedly. No…this couldn't be happening he had to defeat Vali…he had to prove he was worthy of the title God of Thunder.
"Odinson…I'm going to divide you until all your power. I'm going to make you so weak that even a toddler can beat you for what you did to me! Then I'm going to-" Vali never finished his sentence as something silver struck him forcing him to release his grip on him and give a cry of pain. Both men looked to find a long beautifully crated sword blade stuck in Vali's side, the blade Thor noticed, was notched three times on both sides near the bottom and he knew who this blade belonged to.
"If you've chosen to use sneak attacks then you truly have sunk low, Issei Hyoudou."
"Yeah well, when you hurt mothers and try killing my friends I will do what I must to kick your ass, you bastard!"
Thor managed to glance to the sky, and sure enough, he could see Issei flying as fast as he could to stop Vali but Thor knew the distance was too great and Issei wouldn't make it in time. Nevertheless, his plan of firing Ascalon like an arrow was a valiant attempt and managed to catch Vali off guard too but with so much energy already stolen Thor couldn't escape. If someone, anyone, could help get Vali off him then he may be able to get free. Suddenly, above the Heavenly Dragon dark clouds started to form their appearance unnoticed by Vali until the sound of thunder was heard and a massive bolt of thunder and lightning crashed down upon the two of them. To Thor's surprise, it didn't hurt one bit…instead he felt as if he was slowly regaining strength and Vali was howling in pain, what was going on?
"Thor!" Thor couldn't see her but he recognized Akeno's voice anywhere, "Take my Holy Lightning! Let it empower you!"
Holy Lightning…wait…I remember the Church's research about Fallen Angels and Baraqiel is the only Fallen Angel to have the power of Holy Lightning. Akeno is his daughter which means she has inherited his powers and is using it to empower me! Way to go Akeno! Concentrating on the element shared by the Fallen Angel beauty he began channeling it into himself feeling his strength slowly return until he felt the tight grip of Vali grab him again and the halving began again. Either Vali had a high tolerance for pain or being half-human meant his Devil side was unaffected by light magic either way this power struggle was really starting to anger him.
"Throw everything at me it won't stop me from defeating you all for I am the White Dragon Emperor and Lucifer's descendant! Once I crush you Thor I'm going to teach that Valkyrie woman a lesson in not sealing my powers!"
Off on the side, Koneko heard Sigrun snigger, "What's so funny?"
"Vali shouldn't have said that."
He shouldn't have indeed for Thor had gone rigged at hearing Vali threaten Rossweisse, then his eyes narrowed and he grabbed Vali's arms and, to the silver-haired boy's amazement, began to pry them off finger by finger, "You hurt my mother…and now you threaten Rossweisse…you…. won't TOUCH HER!"
Deep within Vali's mind, Albion was screaming about warning Vali against provoking Thor, a warming Vali Lucifer silently agreed upon. As the last of the holy lightning faded into Thor's body power erupted from him like a volcano as lightning and thunder danced around him yet still Vali continued diving but even so, Thor did not grow weaker but kept releasing more and more power all of which Vali greedily took and discarded out of his wings. If this power struggle continued neither would win until someone stopped Vali and that someone was Issei Hyoudou, gauntlet glowing brightly.
"Take it, Thor!"
Boost! Transfer!
Unable to stop his rival, Vali watched Issei slap his hand hard onto Thor's shoulder, the power boosted by the Red Dragon Emperor's host flowed into Thor emitting a green glow to mix with the yellow thunder and blue lightning. Idiot, he should have used it to attack him not give it to Thor, he'll just take the power as he did before, and…Valis's train of thought halted when noticing something strange start to happen. For the briefest moments, the elements shared between Thor and Rias' queen flashed gold and white. It happened two more times before shifting completely but the color swap wasn't the only change Thor's power began to rise rapidly, what did Hyoudou just do!?
"What is it, Lady Freya? I've never seen thunder or lightning change color like that." Sirzechs asked, the audible gasp by the Valkyrie queen noticed by him.
"What you are witnessing is something incredible, Sirzechs. Because of Akeno's Holy Lightning and the Boosted Gear, the two powers combined have empowered Thor so much that he has unlocked Divine Thunder."
"Divine Thunder?"
"As the name states it is a God-Class power and rare among the Gods. Only the ancient Slavic God of Thunder, Perun, was recorded to have used it. His skill with thunder was said to be stronger than Indra. To see my own son obtain this power shows the power he shall achieve when he reaches the Top Ten."
"And now that he has unlocked it…" Sirzechs didn't need to finish his sentence knowing full well what was going to happen next.
Vali could feel the power and heat even through his armor, never had he witnessed such awesome power before. Was this the God of Thunder's true power or just help from his friends? Whatever the reason each divide he used on Thor was not quick enough to halve the power nor expel it through his wings which meant he was trying to overload him with power, he must be stupid if he thinks Issei's plan will work against him.
It's hopeless for them! Whatever this new power is it won't help him! Just keep dividing him Albion and we-
Vali! Yelled Albion and there was a note of concern in his tone, Let go of him! He's pouring too much power into us I can't divide or expel it fast enough!
No! We can do this! We just need to use that and then we can-
Boost!
The announcement made Vali look up in time to see Issei grab him, Boosted Gear shining brightly. Oh no!
Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost!
Blue eyes widened behind the mask as he realized what was about to happen and tried to pry himself free of Issei and release Thor but Issei held on as tightly as he could and Thor, upon releasing him, lurched forward to grab his wrists, his blue eyes had changed to a solid gold now.
"You want power so much Vali!? Then take it! Take all of mine and Issei's power!"
Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost!
Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide!
Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost!
Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide!
With each 'boost' and 'divide' Vali began to shake uncontrollably, cracks formed upon his armor, and, when he looked to the sky, saw a dark cloud form above him and a bolt of pure white thunder come crashing down upon him. His scream of agony and defiance, along with Rias and Asia shouting Issei's name, was drowned out by the thunder's boom that consumed the three men. The explosion that followed had the unfortunate effect of flipping the skirts of those nearest to it, mainly Rias, Akeno, Sona, and Tsubaki, a sight Issei surely would have enjoyed. If it had been closer to the school every window would have shattered if not obliterated a portion of the school from the blast. When the dust settled there stood Thor and Issei over an armorless and panting Vali, the sight of which would forever be burned into the minds of all who witnessed it.
"Im…Impossible. I… I cannot be beaten. I am the Strongest White Dragon Emperor." Wheezed. Vali between coughs.
"And because of clinging to that title along with being the descendent of Lucifer, your pride and ego clouded your mind which led to your downfall." Retorted Thor, eyes narrowed at the defeated Satan who glared defiantly back at him.
"You…you aren't stronger. You had help."
"And Bikou and Kuroka wouldn't have helped you defeat me? It looks like you're also a hypocrite. I could kill you right now." Said Thor, hands sparking with thunder, "I can end your life and Albion will have a new host. You hurt my mother and threatened to harm Rose. However… I spared Bikou so I will spare you. Live knowing your pride as the strongest White Dragon Emperor was humbled by the God of Thunder."
Thor walked away, recalling the tiny Jarnbjorn in the process, towards his mother and threw his arms around her as tears threatened to leave his eyes, the thought of seeing her attacked again would send him into a rage more terrible than before. He felt the Goddess of Love wrap her own arms around his head and hold him close, as she laid his head on her shoulder he had the strangest feeling of doing this when he was a child yet couldn't remember it well. He tightened his grip a little, the thought of seeing her attacked again would lead to another berserker rage more terrible than before.
"Damn you Odinson! You'll regret sparing me! You only won because you had help! The real God of Thunder wouldn't need help! Next time we fight I won't go easy on you!"
"Then you shouldn't have toyed with him or my servant!" Retorted Rias, Power of Destruction glowing in her hands for battle. All four Satan's had to know the battle was lost.
"It seems…we have failed in our task. Know this Sirzechs Gremory, we will not stop until you, your family, and fellow usurpers are dead. And you too, Vali, you're a disgrace to the name Lucifer. Betraying Grigori and us means you are nothing to us. If he was here I'm sure he'd disown you for your actions today. Though that should have happened the moment you ran away. We should have never given you a second chance." Shalba said, the look of anger Vali showed was so very satisfying to look upon. With a flurry of movement, the old Satan descendants teleported away with Asmodeus swearing revenge for the loss of his hand, a threat Freya ignored.
"It's obvious you are beaten, Vali. Surrender and your life will be spared."
"I would listen to Sirzechs if I were you, Vali." Azazel joined Sirzechs side, still donning his armor, "Yes, you attacked Freya, and yes you betrayed us but you said yourself you only joined the Kahos Brigade to get information on a certain you-know-who."
"Azazel. Requesting the White Dragon Emperor's aid is useless. He won't help us, especially his rival and the God who beat him. It's better we-" His sentence was cut short by the cry of Asia and Gasper mixed together, quick as lighting Sirzechs spun on his heels and bolted into the conference room, the Monkey King yelping at the speed the Strongest Satan displayed. The red-haired man needed only a split second to scan the room to notice something was off; someone unannounced had been in here recently whose presence was revealed next to Vali as a handsome man in a proper black business suit with blonde hair. Sirzechs eyes narrowed at the ornate blade he held, clearly a Holy Sword which had so easily pierced the barrier unnoticed.
Another companion of Vali's, he must be someone Azazel didn't know about.
"Vali, even you can see the battle is lost. You are badly hurt and facing multiple foes even I cannot defeat alone. Kuroka was teleported to the far side of the world and I couldn't save Bikou."
Issei wasn't sure but it looked as if concern flashed across Vali's face for the Monkey King.
"You. God of Thunder. I applaud you for being able to defeat Vali but be warned he will seek you out to even the score. This warning is also to you too, Red Dragon Emperor."
"I look forward to that day," Thor replied coolly
"Before you go. I wish to know your name. You obviously have great skill with a sword, a sword that is holy by the energy it's giving off." Sigrun asked, a desire to fight this swordsman swirling in her mind.
"I am Arthur Pendragon. Son of Uther Pendragon."
"King of Camelot and the Knights of the Round Tablas as well as the wielder of the original Excalibur." Dueling with the hero Arthur Pendragon filled Sigrun with excitement, a shame he was a foe.
Without another word, the king of Camelot and the White Dragon Emperor vanished through a portal leaving a dead silence to fall upon the battlefield. Relief washed over Rossweisse as she sighed, her boosted power had faded away during her fight with Katerea and surely would have lost if she hadn't rushed to aid Asmodeus. It was finally over, the battle was won but with a heavy cost to the Three Great Factions; a quarter of what they first started with was left standing from the onslaught of the Lich Queen's army with many Exorcists taking the most casualties from it.
I can only imagine what the consequences will be for them all…
Back at ground level, Rias rushed to her Pawn to cradle his head in her impressive bosom, the thought of losing her dear Issei had worried her since the start of the battle yet he survived even managing to wound Vali twice. The feats he showed today earned him lots of spoiling tonight. Catching movement on the horizon, the redhead looked that way to see her Rook carrying the unconscious Havarti in his arms, a sight her Queen rushed towards with genuine concern on her face. The events at the shrine had shown the bond between Akeno and Havarti was strong and would grow stronger.
"President, I won."
Rias looked back at her Pawn, still smiling, "Yes, Issei. You were so brave today."
"As we're the rest of your Peerage. Particularly, Gasper." Henrietta said smiling down at the two Devils, "Your Bishop found the strength to summon his courage and control his power for the first time, even if it was for a mere second. You should be proud of him."
"I am proud of him. I'm proud of all my servants for the strength and courage they showed. In fact, we all showed courage today. Some more than others." Rias' eyes lingered on Akeno, Gasper, and Koneko the longest, "If I may ask…what happened when you rescued Andreas? I thought those magicians would surely have killed or tortured him yet when I caught glimpses of him in the battle he seemed to be fully healed."
Henrietta leaned forward and whispered so low into Rias' ear that not even Issei could hear her, "He was tortured but was saved. Micheal said this summit was to reveal our secrets and many have been. Kuroka's little sister should be included but that can wait later."
Ahh so she used that power… by the sound of it seemed Koneko had no choice since nobody knew any healing magic to save Andreas. Still, even if her true form was revealed Henrietta didn't sound disgusted or uncomfortable plus didn't Lady Freya have cats of her own? Perhaps now was the time to confront Koneko about her heritage just as she had with Akeno.
It seems every servant I obtain has a tragic past they are afraid of sharing. Akeno… Koneko… both of you have endured hardships and were accepted into my family. Kiba confronted his past the two of you can do the same and you won't be alone in solving it. I will be there and so will your friends.
From the corner of her eye, she saw Thor still staring at the spot where Vali had been before teleporting away, his hands were clenched into fists but what was he thinking about rage or excitement for when he fought again? Surely it couldn't be the latter, the cock Satan descendant had attacked his mother and she honestly did not want to deal with another battle maniac like her cousin.
"Are you alright, Lord Odinson?" Henrietta asked, also taking note of Thor.
The God of Thunder continued to stare, inhaled a deep breath, and let it out with a long sigh while his fists relaxed, "No, Henrietta, I am not alright. Vali got away and is readying himself for his own blood debt. He's gonna try and humble me just as badly as I did to him."
"Will you be ready to battle him again?
"No. I will not fight him. He's not my rival." He turned to Issei who enjoyed the feel of Rias' soft breasts, "I'm sorry for interrupting your battle."
"Dude. It's fine. He hit your mother. I'd have done the same thing if our roles were switched. I'm pretty sure he may have tried threatening my parents to make me angry."
Henrietta scoffed, "Attacking parents. He has no right to be named after a son of Odin. He tarnishes it by being an arrogant dishonorable brat. I'm sure Freya has no love for that punk either."
"And why would you assume the Goddess of Love would hate the White Dragon Emperor?" The Queen of the Valkyries asked the Einherjar as she approached with the grace she was known for, "I do not hate, Vali Lucifer, but instead pity him."
"Pity him? He attacked you!"
"Your right, Thor, he did attack me. However, did you not hear Shalba say of Vali running away and being given a second chance? There must have been a fallout between Vali and the other Satans to cause him to run away yet his desire to fight strong foes probably stems from being raised on that philosophy by the Old Satans or Ablions host. I said before pride can lead to downfalls yet it also can lead to fame and glory if presented the right way. As Issei's rival, he is destined to fight him but his role is outside of that I do not know." She paused before giving her full attention to Thor, "Son, I am so proud of your achievements today. You lost control but regained it during the summit and defeated not only the White Dragon Emperor but the Monkey King as well."
Thor smiled back at his mother, "Thank you, mother, but I couldn't have done it without Issei, Akeno, and especially Rossweisse." His eyes flickered to the Valkyrie maiden who was talking animatedly with Xenovia, Irina, and Vandill, the Jotun laughing about something, "If it wasn't for her I never could have defeated Vali or Bikou. Speaking of Bikou…"
They all turned their attention back to the room where the peace summit was held, where this generation's Monkey King sat with seals applied by Freya and Rossweisse. Thor hadn't thought of it during the battle but now it occurred to him that they had a prisoner that may prove valuable in answering their questions but would Bikou cooperate?
Not far
Sorrow and dread filled the Archangel's face, the last time he looked upon a field of corpses had been during the Great War, "So much death so we can ensure our people unite in peace and face a common enemy."
"They knew the risks to our security and faced it bravely," Sirzechs said, counting how many survivors remained of the 20th Legion of House Gremory. Nearly half of their number was left standing and so few Purebloods the new ranks will have to be filled by reincarnated Devils.
"But will the Church agree to work with its sworn enemy?"
Azazel, no longer donning his Sacred Gear, exchanged looks with Sirzechs at Michael's question, could the Church work with their worst enemies to stop the Khaos Brigade? Would they even listen if it was a direct order from Heaven? The answers would show themselves in time but not now. Now, however, they had a peace summit to finish and papers to sign.
An hour later after the reinforcements and clean-up crews came to collect the dead and repair the school, the peace summit was underway once more, and, with a formal signing by Azazel, Micheal, Sirzechs, and Serafall, who was fully healed by Asia, officially declared the end of the Great War and beginning of peace and unity. Great consequences would come from this and when they do the forces of Heaven, Grigori, and the Underworld, along with their ally Asgard, would solve them.
So ends the peace summit. The Satan's are beaten but not dead, Vali is humbled by Thor and wants payback for it but the God of Thunder will not give him the satisfaction, Bikou is now a prisoner, Akeno has at last used Holy Lightning, and Thor unlocks the unique Divine Thunder used by Perun. What fate awaits the Monkey king? What will the consequences be for making peace and how many more braids can Thor's hair take!? These will mostly be answered in the next chapter; The calm after the storm, along with future chapters.
