John had joined the light for a few reasons.
The first was the DC universe was wonderful when looking at images in a book but when considerably less so when he inhabited the same universe as Darkseid. He only marginally felt better that he ended up in young justice rather than the main universe.
The second was he was not interested in just living a normal life. The DC Universe was a fantasy kitchen sink where all things were possible by some means. If he stayed as a random civilian, it would only be a matter of time before he become a casualty of some superhero fight. He wanted power and he wanted it as fast as possible. He managed to get some
The third reason is he was no hero. John wasn't interested in fighting and dying for some random people off the street. He would do it for friends and family but not for random people.
All those reasons and more had led him to his current position, a leader of the light in another dimension created by Klarion the Witch Boy overlooking a massive military camp from the highest point in the command tower.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" asked my partner in crime and overall leader of the light Vandel Savage who stood beside me.
It was hard not to like Vandel Savage, the overall leader of the Light. He was brilliant, charismatic, a great planner and agreed with my vision of a strong powerful humanity. When I suggested to him my plan in a one-on-one meeting and explained it as best I could he liked the idea. He gathered the other members of the light and the vote decided to go with my plan.
The plan was called the Light Eternal.
The first part was the creation of the Liberators organization. The idea was to create a worldwide network that spread the ideals of the Light through manifestos and ideological pawns. It would also create a network of supporters which would support the Light when it came out of the shadows.
The manifestos called for the unification of all of earth, the militarization of society, the implementation of the metagene in all humanity and more ideas which supported the goals of the light.
The second part was creating the Light Empire. A terrible name I tried to have changed but the ret of the leadership refused to listen to reason.
The Empire was simply the military and shadow government that would take over the planet. Lex, the Queen Brat, and Ocean Master were working hard on those fronts while the rest of us were building the military aspect of the future world government.
The key component of it was the Super Serum's I had developed and shared with the light to get membership into the inner circle.
The most current one was the Super Serum Version five which granted a recipient permanent power. The SV5 made someone a flying brick, with heat vision, super senses, a healing factor, and lighting powers.
There were other serums that were used for different purposes such as the shadow serum used for the shadows to conduct their assassinations. The shadows were dangerous enough as regular humans but as metahumans with super senses, intangibility, invisibility, and x-ray vision there were even more deadly to their enemies.
The Light Eternal wasn't the only plan of course. There were others such as the creation of the Destroyers to eliminate the villains who refused to follow the light, the death bringers, the off-world bases, and wars the Light started and of course the plan to deal with Darkseid.
The light in canon had been a glorified supervillain group but now it was an empire ready to come into the light.
Dammit I said it.
This one is where the SI joins the Light in the Young Justice Universe. A great show that sadly was canceled after the 4th season.
