Orario's (Colors)

"Viiiiiiiiiiii-Chaaaaaaan!" As I was getting ready for my second dive into the dungeon, my bedroom door slammed open. Standing in the door frame was none other than Loki, my goddess, who seemed to be a little too happy this early in the day. From what Aiz told me, she's quite the drinker. Last night, when she was updating my status, she was also similarly tipsy. I didn't think a god could get drunk so easily. "Oh ho! Getting ready for somethin? Whatcha got planned today?"

Adjusting my lightly armored jacket, I fully turned to my goddess. "Just going into the dungeon again. I didn't do much yesterday so I was-"

"EHHHE!" Crossing her arms like an X, she loudly interrupted me. "Sorry, Vi-Vi, but I'm gonna be busy later today and so is my little Aiz. Soooo, no dungeon-ing for you." Before I could argue, she placed a hand in my face. "You're new and Aiz told me what happened yesterday. Do you think you can control yourself enough not to go too far?" Surprised by her sudden seriousness, I didn't have anything I could say. Didn't help that she was right. I don't think- no. I know that I won't be able to stop my desire to continue once I start fighting. Ugh, maybe I really do need a babysitter. "So no dungeon. Got it?"

"Yes ma'am."

"Don't call me that! Makes me feel old..." Hugging her body, I was starting to understand all the jokes dad made about her. You're literally an immortal god. I'd be surprised if you weren't old. After coughing into her hand, she continued. "A-Anyway, it's your third day in Orario. Go into town, look for some good spots to eat. Make friends! Look for weapons! Anything!" All I could do was nod my head as I took off my jacket. Whatever, tomorrow I suppose. "Alright! Now then, I'll be off~ A lady needs to get ready. Chibi's gonna be there so I need to really shit on her this time!" Chibi? Whatever.

F-Rank

Deciding to take Loki's words of advice, I went out into town. Pulling at my collar, I realized just how long it had been since I wore my casual clothes. Every day that I was out coming towards Orario, I always wore my traveling/armored clothes. Instead of my jacket, I was wearing a white hooded sweater that my mom knitted me for the rainy season. Mom... Shaking my head, I pulled the scarf up my face instinctually, silently hoping that feeling the fabric would stop my train of thought. Sighing, I put my hands into my gray pants pockets and walked down Orario's busy street.

I was currently walking in the middle of the main street that leads directly into the dungeon. I could go...not like I need weapons to go- just stop. Relax for once. Looking around the street, I spotted multiple buildings and stalls. Some of the stalls sold food, others sold clothes and weapons. The buildings also looked to be either a store, an inn or a restaurant. I'm getting pretty hungry. That was when I noticed a recognizable restaurant just a little ahead of me. The one where I ran into Loki and her familia. "Hostess of Fertility, huh?" Interesting name. Lets see if Loki's got good taste, or she was just here for the booze.

Walking in, the place was completely packed with adventurers. Not really what I expected since it was the middle of the day. What, did everyone's god forbid them from entering the dungeon today? "Good Afternoon, would you like a seat?" A serious voice called out to me as I looked into the restaurant. Turning to the voice, it was an elf with bright green hair in a dark green maid dress who addressed me. "Well, sir?" Surprised an elf would take a job somewhere like here. I always thought they were far too high and mighty to serve anyone.

"Yes, any seat is fine. Thank you." Nodding her head, the employee led me deep into the restaurant and sat me down at the bar before handing me a menu. "Thanks..."

Politely bowing, she went off to go help other customers, and she'll probably be back for my order. Looking through the menu, I could only sigh at the prices. Eight hundred Valias for the special? Does everything in Orario have to be so expensive? That would have bought a family meal back in the village. "Well, well, well! You're a new face! You a newbie?" Walking on the other side of the bar, a giant woman asked me as she put down a bowl of soup in front of another customer. She walked right in front of me and crossed her arms. She's pretty tall. I bet with that height, she could easily destroy the dungeon.

Nevertheless, I didn't want to give too much about myself to a random restaurant owner, so I just nodded my head and took my scarf off. Carefully placing it on my lap and scooting into the bar, making sure whatever I ate wouldn't stain it. "Aw, come on! No need to be so guarded! I'm Mia, but everyone calls me Mama. What's your name?"

Fine. What's my name going to give her? Not like she works for him or anything. "My name is Viole. Pleasure to meet you, Mia." Slapping my shoulder over the counter, I almost coughed up a lung from the surprise and strength she put into it. "W-Watch it! You'll kill me before I even gain a level!"

"AHAHAHAHA! Sorry bout that! Guess I forgot my strength there for a moment! Tell ya what, I'll give ya a discount! Take it as my welcome to Orario!" What a lovely welcome. Leaving my sarcastic comment in my head, I gladly took the discount.

"Very well. I'll take the lunch special then. Thank you." Handing her the menu to Mia, she responded with a smirk and yelled over her shoulder my order.

"No need to be so formal, kid!" Handing another customer some ale, she continued speaking to me. "So, what familia have you joined? If you don't mind me askin."

I'd rather not say it at this point, as I don't really like people knowing much about me. Whether it's paranoia or not, I don't like the thought. But... apparently the Loki Familia's famous or something. So, it'd come out sooner or later. "I recently joined the Loki Familia."

"Loki?! Huh. Didn't think she'd take a newbie! You must be a prodigy, kid." With that she laughed her way into the kitchen. Not even allowing me to correct her, but it was for the best. Not like it really matters. Whether I'm a prodigy or just got in through a legacy program. I'm part of Loki's Familia.

Waiting for my food, I tapped on the table. A young woman then walked up to me. "Wow, Mama sure seems interested in you." The young woman was wearing the same uniform as the elf from earlier. Unlike her elf coworker, she has short light blue hair. "Hey there! I'm Syr, pleasure to meet you." All I gave her was a nod, which earned me an admittedly cute pout from the maid. "Heeeey. If I introduce myself you should do the same! Or are you going to leave a cute girl out to dry?"

"Cute girls don't call themselves cute." I knew this was going to become a whole thing. So, I rested my chin on my hand. Hope my food comes soon. "Viole."

"Huh?"

"My name."

"Ohhhhh! I get it! Viole, and your eyes are violet! Cool!" Moving to cover my eyes, Syr quickly grabbed my arm before I could do so. "Hey, don't do that! Your eyes are sooo cute! So, did you get that from your mom or your dad?" When she asked that, the memory flashed in my mind again. Fire burning down everything around me. The house, the barn to even the crops around me. My entire world being destroyed by the second. Sounds of blades crossing and red... red blood covering the ground. "Um... are you okay?"

I forced myself to take a deep breath. "Yes. It was from my mother. Now then, please leave me alone for a while."

"O-Oh... sorry. Um, enjoy the food." Pulling her hand back, she gave me a respectful bow and left me alone to my thoughts. I couldn't help but feel a little guilty about what just happened. But, I'd simply make it worse by apologizing. Besides, it'd be far too dangerous to interact with someone who I didn't need to. Dammit. It's all that bastard's fault.

Trickster

Fuck, I hate these parties. Well, I love the booze, yeah. But fuck can these gods get on my fucking nerves sometimes. I still don't get why Ganesha has to host one of these at his home every month, is he just trying to show off how much money his familia gets? Eh, prolly not. Genny's a cool guy. He probably just wants to hang out with us. Not that I accept his invites often but- Oh~ Nevermind! Important person spotted! "FREYYYYYAAA!" The utterly beautiful silver haired goddess was standing near the buffet. So, I did the only thing I could! Run down the stairs and try to tackle her into a hug! As I should! Unfortunately as I got closer... ugh. I caught an eyeful of a certain disgusting creature wearing what I could only assume she found in a dumpster. "And Chibi... What a surprise."

"Yuck, what do you want, Loki?" The midget's disrespectful greeting entirely drowned out Freya's god-like hello. Look at this bitch, with her twin tails and... I want to kill her and grill her. "Oh, actually this is perfect! Loki, that girl in your familia, Wallenwhatsit. Does she have a partner? A boyfriend? Galpal? Anything like that?"

"WHO THE HELL?! Did you actually just ask that of me? HA! Your brain must have been getting smaller and smaller, pipsqueak! She's my favorite human right now and I'll be DAMNED if anyone tries to get close to her! I'll personally castrate them!" There isn't a chance in hell that I'm gonna let any one of these idiots lay a finger on my little Aiz! Hest- Chibi sucked her teeth like the gremlin that she is at my answer and tried to kick my shins. "Awwww. What? Can't reach high enough to punch me?"

A beautiful sigh entered my ears and immediately took away any and all anger I had towards Hestia. "Loki, you're quite dressed up today. You don't normally come looking so glamorous." She had a point, if I ever did bother coming to these parties, I either came in my normal clothes or my pajamas. But, seeing as I heard a certain big titted idiot was gonna be here, I just HAD to show off. This slim black dress was burning a hole in my closet anyway, and it'd be a waste not to wear a five mil Valias dress at least once~

Well, to be fair, I did have another reason to come presentable. "I've got a little business I'd like to handle here too. It's just a bonus that I got to show this idiot what a true goddess looks like!" Placing my gloved hand over my mouth, I made no effort to hide my smirk from the brat as I looked down on her. Dummy! Wait, why does she have that look in her eye? Oh no...

With her own smile, which was annoyingly cute, she looked up at me. "Really, Loki? Well, that dress does look good, but you might want to get a refund because-" Don't you dare say it! Nothing I could do could stop this snake from pointing at my body and yelling. "THEY FORGOT YOUR CHEST!"

"I'LL KILL YOU!" Grabbing her by her squishy cheeks, I did my best to throw her around. But his defiant mongrel stuck her tongue out at me the entire time! I hate her! I hate her so fucking much! "Fuck you! Agh!" I had little other choice than to drop this oversized baby on the ground and hold back the tears in my eyes. Luckily for me, my other target was on the other side of the home. "I-I'll let you off easy this time, dumbass." I definitely wasn't ashamed of what Chibi had and I didn't. If you think I do, I'll get Riveria to turn you inside out.

"Flaty" I hate her so muuuuch!

On the other side of Ganesha's mansion was the woman that I had been looking for. In an elegant red dress that perfectly emphasized her curves... god she's enticing. No! You're here on business, Loki! It was my bestest buddy in the whole wide world, Hephaestus, the god of Metalworking! "Loki, what a pleasant surprise. How are you doing today? Must be good seeing as you aren't already drunk."

"Hey, I'm planning on doing that later, thank you very much! But, I'm great actually, especially now that you're here to get my mind off of shit-for-tits!" Looks like my buttering up didn't work out though. Because she let out a loud groan and drank the rest of her sparkling wine.

"What do you want Loki? I actually want to have fun for once. Not talk about business." Great, and I readied a thirty thousand word pleading letter. Better not tell Riveria it didn't work out, or she'll kill me for asking her to do that.

"W-Well... fine. I'm not even gonna waste your time and pretend." I need a drink. Deciding to drink double for this mistake later, I looked at my beautiful friend. "Hepey-chan. You wouldn't mind, say, making me a weapon right? Pretty please? With a cherry on top?"

"Doesn't the Sword Princess have a perfectly good rapier? Not to mention, the last time I made something for you, I ended up making a monstrosity. I can recommend some of my children, that should be enough."

Putting my hands up, I stopped her from taking out a card from her purse. "H-Hold on! Look, it isn't exactly for Aiz. I got a new kid who joined and he's being a dumbass and fighting monsters with his fists!"

"So? Plenty of adventurers do that."

"But he'll break his hands and fingers like that! Look, all I'm askin is that you make him some gloves or some knuckles. Something that won't make him act so stupid."

Hephaestus tilted her head at me for a second before suddenly nodding. What was that?! "Do you want to fuck this kid?"

"WHAT? NO!"

"Sorry, sorry. Look, it's you. Can't blame me for asking that." Ugh, I don't want to fuck every one in my familia! I keep that to outsiders right now! "It's just weird to see you worry so much about one of your familia. Especially a new one. You're acting like a mother."

"HEY! Take that back!"

With an exhausted face, my friend just rolled her one eye. "Whatever. Look, I'm not taking commissions right now, I'm real busy. Just go get the last weapon I made back. Reaper's been retired for a while now and I doubt he'll be using it for anything."

Crap. A pain surged in my chest as she said that. It was a feeling that I was unfortunately used to by now but... he... "Reaper is dead." Taking a step back in surprise, I'm sure Hepey didn't expect to hear that. Neither did I after all. "The newbie I picked up is his kid no less. So, you know how it is. I gotta take care of him, ya know?"

At the news, she cringed and closed her eye. "If his kid showed up after he died then-"

"Yes, it was the first thing that I checked when I opened his status." That bastard... I want to fucking kill him!

"Shit." Scratching the back of her head, Hephaestus slowly let out a sigh. "Sorry about... you know. But, um... I'll think about it alright?"

Even if that was just a nice way to turn me down... it honestly helped. "That's enough for me. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to chug down fifteen bottles of wine!" Faking a smile, I marched my way towards the bar. Ignoring her pitied expression. Time to drown my emotions! This one for you, Angra. Rest in peace... I'll keep your boy safe. I promise.

Adventurer

Walking through Orario, I had to hold my stomach and mouth. I ate WAY too much at Hostess and was currently regretting all of my decisions. I knew I shouldn't have listened to Mia. I ended up spending over a thousand there. Ugh, I'll get you back for this, giant. Not to mention I'd spent far too much time there. It's almost night already. The sun was setting by the time that I got back to the Twilight Manor. However, as I walked into the mansion, a voice called out to me. "Hey, new kid." Great, just what I need when I'm about to vomit. Turning to the voice, I was surprised by the fact that I had to look down at the one who called out to me.

A short person who I could only assume was a young boy stood in front of me. He had short blond hair and a soft face. Didn't help that he was wearing a far too large red shirt and shorts. Is this one of the member's kids? "Can I help you with something, kid? I'm busy."

Immediately, a vein threatened to pop in his forehead, yet his welcoming smile never left. Great, another character. Can't Loki have anyone normal in her familia? "Well, I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Finn and I'm the captain of the Loki familia. And I'm a Pallum, not a kid." A pallum? What's- OH! OH NO!

"Shit. Uh... I'm sorry." Bowing towards my superior, I tried to think of the best way to explain myself. "Sorry, I was distracted by the fact that I'm going to take a massive shit later. I'm sorry."

Ugh, that came out way to fucking badly. No way he'll under- "Oh! You went to Hostess for the first time, huh? Mama just keeps scamming newbies, huh?" The vein on his forehead slowly disappeared and he gave me a soft punch in the arm. "It's fine. I get it. Just... don't do it again, alright?" The captain said with a sickly sweet smile. "Anyway, good to have you aboard kid, if you need any help or advice, don't be afraid to ask me."

"...I'll keep that in mind, Captain." I doubt that'll ever happen. I don't need advice from anyone. Especially useless advice from a high level. Keeping that thought to myself, I adjusted my scarf to cover my mouth. "If you'll excuse me, I need to go use the bathroom now."

"Yeah, you do that. Have a nice night." With a wave, the pallum walked away. Leaving me with my thoughts as I walked my own direction. He seemed nice enough. The fact that he didn't punch a hole through me for that mistake says a lot. But... he's a high level, so I'm sure he's got something hidden either way. Best to keep my distance from him. Lest my journey end early.

Walking out of the bathroom and heading to my room, I inadvertently let out a satisfied sigh. That satisfied feeling disappeared as when I opened the door to my room, I almost fell backwards in surprise. After all, I expected my room to be empty. Not to see Aiz sitting on my bed. Great, she's breaking and entering now. "What are you doing here Aiz?"

She was apparently looking around my room as I walked in and her eyes widened slightly in surprise as I entered. "I was waiting for you."

"I can see that. But what for?"

"... I just wanted to." Aiz, I know you're a good person and all, but you aren't helping get rid of the stalker image I had of you. Not wanting to cause an issue, I closed the door behind me and walked over to a large chair I had on the side of the room. Carefully, I took off my scarf and folded it onto the chair. "You really care about that..." Aiz said once I finished. She kept shifting her gaze between me and the piece of fabric. "It looks damaged. What happened?"

"It was an accident. My sister took it from my room one day and started running around the house with it. She tripped and both ends of it ended up caught in the fireplace." I effortlessly recited the prepared lie. "Since then, I never left it out of my sight."

Staring at the damaged scarf, a smile appeared on her face for a moment. "I see... I'm glad you're taking care of it." Hm? Why would you be? Whatever. She then stood up from my bed. "Well, I'm glad we could talk. If you need anything, my room is just upstairs a few floors. Please come visit me sometime."

When you say it like that, someone will definitely get the wrong idea. Not to mention, I didn't get why she was so invested in me. We just met two days ago. "Aiz, why-"

"VIOOOOOOOOOOOOOLE!" My bedroom door was slammed open for the second time today and by the same perpetrator. Is today 'let's break into Viole's room day' or something? This time, she did look drunk. Loki, wearing a fancy looking black dress and her hair pulled up. She was also obviously piss drunk. "Viiiiiiii, weapons. What weapons do you like?" I'm surprised she isn't slurring her words. Gods even get drunk better than us, huh? Leaning against my door frame, she stared at Aiz for a moment. "W-What're you two doing?"

"Nothing." With that, she gave Loki a polite bow and squeezed past her to leave. Leaving me alone with the drunk.

So, she and I stood there. Staring at each other. After a few seconds, she began to chuckle. It started off high and mighty but slowly became quieter and strangely sadder. Loki? "I miss Angra."

Dad? She misses my dad? Angra Keres, a former member of the Loki familia and my hero. He always did his best back at the farm to make sure that us and the village we lived in always had something to eat. Whenever the rare monster showed up, he'd slice them down with a random stick he found. He was an amazing role model to all of the kids back home, but he always made sure to show Abigail and I special attention. He was the coolest and nicest guy that I've ever met and I think I will ever meet. I wanted to be like him, but that's a dream I've had to throw away. I miss my dad as well. I always will.

"I do too, Loki. I miss my mom and Abby too." If that's how my dad was at home, I'm sure he was an amazing adventurer as well, so I didn't question why she said that. "But, I think you should go to bed. It's only like eight and you're already dead drunk."

"Nah, I could go for a few more."

"Lo- and she's gone." Before I could tell her to stop, she was already gone and probably went to her office. Whatever. Dropping onto my bed, I let out a sigh and stared at the ceiling. Mom, Dad, Abby. I'm sure you'd all be pissed at me right now. But, I have to do this. After what happened, there's no way that I can live a normal life. I'm sorry. I just hope you all will forgive me when I eventually join you.

AN: Hello everyone. I'm back with the second chapter. There's not much to say about this chapter's rewrite, considering how close to the original's it is. I do find that I'm enjoying writing the new Viole much more than the old one. I feel like I made him far to casual and jokey, and that doesn't really make much sense for the type of story I want to tell with him. I hope you all enjoyed this update. If there's anything you want to say to me, don't be afraid to leave a review. Thank you for reading.

King Askeladd: Sorry, I don't know what this means. I assume it's a language barrier thing, I tried to look it up but couldn't find anything. I apologize.

HaMCRI: Oh shit, hey. I didn't expect any crossover between my fics so thank you for checking it out. I don't plan on abandoning this one again so I'm going to do my best. As for my view on revenge... I think this story will show it well enough. Thank you for the review.
