Deformer Trailer Power Generator
Type: Normal Spell
Effect: Activate only while you control two or more Deformer Monsters; draw two cards. While you control Gadget Trailer, you can banish this card from your graveyard; equip one Deformer Power Trailer to it from your deck. You can only activate both effects of Deformer Trailer Power Generator once per turn. You cannot special summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of the turn, except Machine monsters.
Chapter 5 – Life is Beauti-nal Sunshine! The Fifth Dragon
"Allow me to show my respect for you girl, by summoning a very special guest. Cursed Prison summons a Synchro Monster from my deck in defense mode. Come forth, my prisoner!"
From behind Demak, the large stone monument that held Ancient Fairy Dragon comes forth. It shakes a little as the dear dragon emerges. This light blue serpentine dragon with a majestic appearance and butterfly wings appears on the field before Demak, inside of a thorn cage.
"Ancient Fairy Dragon!?" Luca shouts, seeing her Signer Dragon in shock.

"Enjoy this sight, before you're slain. Cusillu, direct attack!" The towering monkey raises a fist and brings it down on Luca.
"Trap card open! Magician's Defense!" Her trap opens up, and Hiita steps in front of Luca to defend herself.
"Don't forget! Closed Forest empowers my Earthbound God!" With his giant monkey reaching 3300, Hiita summons flames to block the attack as best as she can. It diverts damage, but the fist still hits the stone floor sending tremors and fissures directly at Luca. The little girl cries out as she's knocked back, a rock hitting her in the face.
Luca: 250
Hiita looks back seeing Luca in pain, worried that she would not make it. But, her fears are alleviated when she watches Luca get back up. While hurt, and bleeding from her forehead, the poor girl is still standing.
It's also shaken her. She can barely hold it together. Her hands tremble and her legs spasm. She's too scared.
"Looks like you've come to the end of your rope. One more attack and I'll put an end to your life. I'll end my turn."
With that, Luca places a hand on her deck, ready to draw. Taking a breath, she thinks about how to win this duel. Honestly, it's not looking good. 'There aren't that many cards that can turn the tables right now… can I even do it?'
As her doubt overpowers her, she begins to hyperventilate. She holds her chest. Sweat builds on her. 'I…'
Luca! Don't give up!
"Lua?"
"Little Titania, are you going to play your move or not?" asks Demak condescendingly.
She ignores him for a moment, her heart focused on her brother's voice. Her mark pulses as she does, a symbol entering her mind. "Lua…" Finding the heart to continue, she takes in a deep breath before drawing her card.
And so she turns it over, revealing the card. As Storm. 'Thank you, Lua.'
"On my Main Phase, I activate Storm!" She slaps the card into her duel disk, causing two hurricanes to form on the field. One appears on Magician's Defense and the other on Cursed Prison. "This quickplay magic card will destroy one magic or trap on my field, and I can destroy one on your field!"
Her spell whips about the field and destroys her trap card, before the other half shatters Cursed Prison. However, Demak seems unimpressed. Unaffected even. Except for the part where he laughs.
"Foolish girl. Destroying Cursed Prison destroys Ancient Fairy Dragon as well." True to his word, the blue dragon fades away into the cemetery. "You finally get to see her and now she's gone."
However, he notices something off. Luca is smiling. "You wanted to do that? You may think you have a chance because my field is open, but if you've forgotten-"
"Actually, I was trying to do that." She points to her field, as two cards reveal themselves; the first is Magician's Protection, and the second is Respect Synchron.
"First up, Respect Synchron – this card can only be activated when a Synchro Monster you control was sent to the graveyard by your card effect. And while Twister was used against your card, it was the trap that destroyed her." A bright light forms on the field as a figure begins to emerge from it. From Demak's graveyard, the Synchro monster flies out into her hand for her to play.
"The holy light of protection, now cross and become eternal life! Respect Synchro!" Unleashing a triumphant howl, her ace monster appears before her. "Welcome back to our side, Ancient Fairy Dragon!"
Ancient Fairy Dragon: 2100/3000 (7)
"Second, Magician's Protection – this trap card when it leaves the field allows me to revive any Spellcaster in my graveyard. So come back, Aussa!" The earth charmer rises from the graveyard with a determined look. She stares at Demak before adjusting her glasses.
Aussa: 1850
Angered at having to give up his key to entering and exiting the Spirit Realm, Demak gripes. "You planned on that happening…"
"Respect Synchron was my brother's card. He gave it to me because he hoped a part of him would help me rescue Ancient Fairy Dragon. He may not be a Signer, but he's the greatest hero to me. That's why from the very start of the duel I had been waiting for this moment!"
That's when he realizes it. Respect Synchron has been on the field since her first turn.
"And due to Awakening, all of them gain 900 atk! Plus, I can draw one card!" As Hiita is elevated to 2750, Aussa becomes 2750, and Ancient Fairy Dragon becomes 3000, Luca draws her card and examines it. With the card held in front of her, she continues, saying, "Ancient Fairy Dragon's effect; it destroys one Field Spell on the field and my life increases by 1000."
"What?! The Field Spell?!" Demak watches in horror as his Closed Forest shatters. As a result, Cusillu drops to a knee exhausted.
Cusillu: 2800
Luca: 1250
"Now to finish this. I summon Eria the Water Charmer!" She places her final monster to the field, which also sort of resurrects Eria in a younger form.
Eria: 500 – 1700
"You lose! With four monsters of different attributes, Ancient Fairy Dragon gains 1200 atk!"
Her dragon howls as she becomes 3300. The girl breathes in before pointing at Demak. "Goodbye, Demak. Ancient Fairy Dragon, attack the Earthbound God Cusillu! ETERNAL SUNSHINE!"
AFD flies high up into the air, sprouting her butterfly wings. A bright light gathers at her wing scales before releasing in an omnidirectional spread. The light becomes too much for the evil god and it fades away, eradicated. It also hits Demak, sending him flying back in pain.
Demak: 0000
Luca: WIN
The light doesn't stop there though; with his defeat, it spreads all over, as if purifying the realm of the minus energy he flooded it with.
Upon the death of his god, all of the spirits it devoured fly out. Each one enters the stone tablets they were trapped in, now springing free due to the results of the duel. Lyna and Eria reform then and there, as well as all of the other four charmers.
Dharc, Eria, Lyna, Hiita, Aussa, and Wynn all look at one another, realizing what happened. They get together and hug, before holding hands and jumping for joy. Well, Dharc doesn't jump.
Kuribon appears before Luca, who holds her preciously. "We did it!"
"Luca." Looking up, Luca sees Ancient Fairy Dragon descending before her. "Luca, you did it. You fulfilled your promise."
"I did…" Luca then looks over at Demak. Oddly, the man still remains after his defeat. But his body looks to be falling apart. His flesh is turning to dust.
"No…" he groans, his voice competition for death wheezing. "How could I lose here… by a child… before my vengeance could be fulfilled…"
Luca steps back as Demak eyes her. The charmers stand forth protecting the girl. "Demak… you can't hold onto that hatred. Don't you remember the joy you felt when you first studied the Spirit Realm?"
Demak looks down sadly. "If I had… I don't." His arm crumbles. "You may have stopped me, but Rudger foresaw this and planned for every eventuality. By tonight, the world will cry out 'Glory to the Dark Signers!'"
That is it; he falls apart, leaving nothing but his cloak and dust.
Seeing that is haunting for the girl, but the battle isn't over yet. "Ancient Fairy Dragon, I would like to stay here and chant, but I have to go back to the real world. Lua, Yusei, and the others need me."
"I understand. As the Signer to who I am bonded, it is only right that I assist. The Dark Signers have to be stopped."
"Good luck over there, Luca," says Eria as Ancient Fairy Dragon releases a bright light. This brightness consumes both her and the Signer before the light shoots up into the sky.
Back to the Real World…
"Draw!" Lua draws his card, taking a minute to look at it. 'Deformer Accelerator…'
With his new card, he looks back at his hand and then at the field. 'With this, I can get rid of that monster, but won't he just summon it back? I need something to get rid of that giant airship…'
Lua rattles his brain to come to a solution, literally. Each time he does, he mutters 'think' over and over. That's when something pops in. 'Wait… maybe there is a way! That faltop has to special summon from the graveyard. All I need is either a card to get rid of that airship, or that Dark Synchro.'
Smirking, he reveals his card. "I play Deformer Accelerator!"
As he inserts the card into his duel disk, Giant Bomber AIRRAID takes aim at Lua. "You're a fool! Giant Bomber will destroy your spell card and you will take 800 points of damage! Death Drop!"
The towering monster drops explosions upon Lua, to which Power Tool raises its arms to block. More of its body cracks, as a result, showing something else underneath. The shockwave still hits him, sending the boy face forward into the dirt.
Lua: 1700
"Lua!" shout both Yusei and Ushio.
The boy pushes himself back up, blood coming down his bruised nose. "Deformer Accelerator's effect… I return one Deformer in my hand to my deck and destroy one card on the field." He reveals Deformer Clocken before shuffling the card back into his deck. "And the card I will destroy will be… Giant Bomber Airraid!"
Clocken appears in robot form with jets attached to its back. It flies at high speed, crashing into Giant Bomber. The airship detonates once more, this time at least crashing to the side far from the battlefield.
"Yes!" Lua then draws his card.
"But, that won't matter so long as I have Dark Flattop! And I doubt you have an Equip card left to raise Power Tool's strength high enough."
"Maybe so, but I won't give up! None of us will! Yusei, Jack, Aki, Luca, don't give up!" As his heart explodes, Power Tool's eyes shine briefly. "Power Search, go!"
Lua's dragon once more causes his deck to shuffle. He closes his eyes praying for the right card to appear, before pulling it out once the shuffle has stopped. He draws the card and opens his eyes. To see…
"Yes! I did it! Thank you, Power Tool! I activate United We Stand!" Lua's card enters the field, and from it Power Tool gains a hefty boost in strength. "It raises Power Tool's attack strength by 800 for every monster I control!"
Power Tool: 3100
"3100 attack points?!"
"Power Tool Dragon, attack Dark Flattop! Crafty Break!" Power Tool flies forward before jabbing the dark machine several times with its screwdriver. It then finishes the combo by slamming its shovel into the core. As it detonates, Power Tool heaves it into the sky. The explosion rips through the skies, seeable all the way from Neo Domino City.
Elsewhere, Jack looks back in shock, saying, "The hell?!"
Lua then laughs triumphantly. "How's that?! You just lost your best monster for good this time!"
He picks a card from his hand and activates it. "I'll equip Power Tool with Power Converter and end my turn." A battery pack forms on Power Tool's back.
Bomber looks at his field, impressed. "You've done well, Lua. Sadly, this is as far as you go. Your efforts have also opened up to my god's advent. Contaminated Earth, activate!"
As his trap reveals itself, the ground shakes. "Because you destroyed my two monsters, I can special summon my Earthbound God from my deck!"
"You can what!?"
"This is bad!" Yusei says in fear, watching as the heart forms overhead.
"Don't worry; the challenger won't be absorbed, not until the duel reaches its conclusion." Souls enter into the heart from the earth sprung by the trap. Luckily for Ushio, he's right next to Yusei. "Sullied souls trapped within the earth, now is the time to come forth from it and lend me power! Come forth, Chacu Challhua!"
After the heart gains enough power, it emerges in a burst of purple light shooting up like a funnel tower. From the smoke rises the Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua.
Chacu Challhua: 2900/1600 (10)
"The killer whale geoglyph…" Yusei mutters seeing the card.
"Deh-it's huge!" shouts Lua seeing the monster. "No wonder he placed Chaos Zone on his previous turn. He was expecting this!"
"It's my turn now." Bomber draws his card before pointing. "Chacu Challhua, direct attack!"
The giant whale aims its head downward at Lua before snapping its jaw. It then opens wide before diving for Lua. "Power Converter's effect! By sending this to the graveyard, I gain life equal to Power Tool's attack! And, his attack becomes zero for the rest of the turn!"
The battery pack is launched into the air by the machine dragon, allowing the killer whale to bite down on it and cause an explosion. Lua gets hit hard by it.
Lua: 1700 – 4800 – 1900
"LUA!" Yusei shouts, seeing the poor boy gets blown into a stone wall that erupted due to the duel. He can't keep taking this much damage.
Silent for a moment, Bomber takes a monster from his hand. "I'll set one card and end my turn."
Darksea Rescue returns once more, this time blue for protection.
Lua, still in pain, forces his body to move. 'This… this can't be the end… I can still do this…'
Looking at his hand of a single card, he wonders how he can do this. He slowly draws his card and examines it. "Power Tool Dragon's effect… Power Search…" His deck shuffles before extracting a card. He picks it up, seeing the card. 'Central Shield… I may have to…'
"I equip Power Tool with Central Shield." A black and red shield forms around Power Tool as it stares down Bomber. "While equipped, you can't attack anyone or anything except Power Tool. But, I won't need it because…"
He points at Bomber. "Earthbound Gods can't protect your life points. Attack!"
"Trap Card, Defense Draw!" Bomber's trap opens up, causing a barrier to form between him and Power Tool. He then draws his card.
"Damn it… I end my turn."
As Bomber draws his card, he coldly points. "Your Central Shield is pretty good, but that won't stop everything. Chacu Challhua's effect; in exchange for my Battle Phase, Chacu Challhua can deal damage equal to half its defense."
"It can?!" Chacu Challhua dives into the ground like a shark and strikes Lua with its fin. He cries out in pain, realizing Central Shield can't protect against it.
Lua: 900
"This is bad… Bomber found a way around Lua's card."
"Lua…" Yusei grits his teeth watching him.
Lua looks up holding his stomach. Bomber then continues with his turn. "I'll set one card. Then I shall switch Chacu Challhua to defense mode and summon Darksea Rescue in defense mode, ending my turn."
As the rescue monster returns to the field, Bomber concludes.
"It's… my turn… then…" Lua mutters as he reaches for his card. It's hard to. He's been hit hard since the first card was drawn, and he might not be able to push through this.
Here he came to give Luca strength, and now he's the one who needs help.
Just then, a bright light shoots out from the skies. It lands down on the earth by the battlefield. Everyone looks in the direction of the light as it disperses, showing Luca.
"Luca!" All three say in shock, Lua especially emotional.
Bomber sees her, noticing she must be the Signer he was supposed to duel prior. She smiles looking at everyone, before turning to Lua with a gasp. He's more damaged than she is. "Lua!"
She attempts to go to him, but one wall of the inner geoglyph is blocking her. "Lua! Are you okay?!"
"Much better…" says Lua upon seeing his sister.
"Looks like the little Signer has finally arrived. But the duel is already reaching its conclusion," Bomber tells her as he looks at his field.
"Is that Bomber?" asks Luca as she looks at him. While watching, her birthmark glows, and she looks up at the Earthbound God. "Then… that must be his-"
"IT HURTS!"
The girl gasps when she hears voices inside the killer whale. Looking up, the girl sees faces. They're all children, trapped inside the Fish-Type. "What's that? Are those the souls the Earthbound God devours?"
"Hurry up with your turn, Lua," Bomber says demandingly.
"Lua!" Luca shouts, getting his attention. She then points up at the evil deity, causing him to do so curiously.
When he sees it too, he shouts out. "What's that?! Who are they?!"
"Who are who?"
"Bomber, you don't see that?"
"All I can see is you stalling!"
"Bomber!" Yusei shouts, having also seen it due to hearing Luca. "There's something wrong with your Earthbound God!"
"Yusei…" Noticing his reaction, Bomber looks up. That's when he sees them, the faces of children inside of the killer whale.
It destroys him inside. "What… no. This can't be! Why are the faces of my siblings inside of the Earthbound God?"
"The faces of what?" Ushio mumbles.
"Then, does that mean-"
"Yes… the ones locked inside this Earthbound God are indeed my siblings and the people of my home…" The realization hits him quickly. "Then, instead of the Crimson Dragon, the ones responsible for the destruction of my home are actually the Dark Signers?!"
Horrified, he drops to his knees. "Then… what was the point of all of this?!"
"Bomber…" Lua mutters, feeling his sorrow. "Bomber, you have to put an end to this. You don't have to duel anymore!"
He can't deny it. With all of his rage and hatred gone, the sclera in his eyes has turned white. "Lua, Yusei… I'm sorry. I've wronged you all-"

As those words pierce his heart, his mark pulses, burning into him. He groans in pain before screaming.

Dark energy burns from his body. His marks and eyes glow purple in response, as Bomber gains a malicious smile. Yusei, seeing him, shouts out to him.
"I am a Dark Signer. I shall eliminate this world under the darkness of the underworld!"
"Bomber?" Lua whispers seeing his new change in behavior.
Bomber groans as he fights back for control, the veins on his face pulsing grotesquely. "Lua… you have to… stop me! Something's in my head… controlling me!"
He holds his face as he tries to fight back. "Defeat me and the souls… captured by the Earthbound God will be set free!" Veins stretch from the mark and seize control over the Dark Signer.
"Lua, look out! That's not Bomber anymore right now! You have to end this!"
"I know, but…" Looking at his deck, Lua bites down on his bottom lip.
"Lua!" Luca begins, catching his attention. "It's okay to be afraid. I was too. But even if I was, I wasn't alone. I still have you. We'll always be together! Lua!"
He takes a second to listen in depth Luca's words, before nodding. He then draws his card. "Deformer Telefon… This won't help…" He sighs before moving the card back to his hand.
As he does, he feels a pulse. Power Tool turns around to where Lua is, the monster and duelist almost resonating. Up above, a familiar form shows in the skies; taking the shape of the Crimson Dragon. 'Wait… maybe it can?' He looks deep into his Extra Deck and sees it, something new glowing.
'Then I'll do it!' "I summon Deformer Telefon!" Lua's next monster is a telephone. It transforms, turning into a tiny robot.
Telefon: 100/100 (1) Tuner
"That's probably a monster you'll use to destroy Darksea Rescue, but it won't help you. Chacu Challhua skips your Battle Phase while in defense mode!"
"Then it's a good thing I'm not trying to attack. I'll use Power Tool's Effect!"
He receives his random card, adding the equip to his hand. "Next, I'll tune my level 1 Telefon with my level 7 Power Tool!"
"Tuning?" This is Ushio.
"He's tuning Power Tool Dragon?" Yusei says this.
Lua watches as Power Tool passes through the sole ring, but instead of turning it into light, something else happens. The Crimson Dragon appears briefly to give its beautiful howl, causing cracks to spread throughout the dragon's metallic body. Pieces come off shattering, showing that it's not a robot at all. It's armor.
"The courage and power to protect the future of the planet is a revolution! Synchro Summon!"
Power Tool's armor breaks away, showing the yellow and brown dragon underneath. Its scooper becomes an arm, the screw drill becomes an arm with a blade attached, and the tail has a shovel appendage. The round-faced dragon shakes off the remaining pieces as it roars. "Evolve, Life Stream Dragon!"
LSD: 2900/2400 (8)
As the dragon appears, the Signer marks all light up in response. Even Yusei has to ask, "Is that one?"
Luca is the most surprised. "That… that's the dragon from my dream!"
Chacu Challhua hisses at the presence of the dragon, which responds in kind. "What?! The proof of one being a Signer?! But you have no mark!"
"As I said, I don't need to be a Signer to beat you! When Synchro Summoned, Life Stream Dragon sets our life at 2000." Life Stream Dragon releases a powerful ray from its body, which repairs all of the damage done to Lua as a result of this duel.
Lua: 2000
Bomber: 2000
"I will equip Life Stream Dragon with my second Central Shield." Lua places a copy of the first trap onto his dragon. "I'll then set one card and end my turn."
"That annoying card again. Draw!" Bomber checks his card, grinning. 'Revival of the Earthbound… With this, I can revive Chacu Challhua incase something happens. But, I can always do this.' "Chacu Challhua's effect! Once per turn, it can-"
"No, it can't! Life Stream Dragon negates all effect damage!" His dragon howls in response.
"Blasted child! Then, instead of using that effect, I will have to do this! I switch Chacu Challhua to attack mode!" His killer whale switches into an offending position.
"Oi, what's he planning?" Ushio asks in surprise.
Yusei realizes this. "He wants to destroy Lua's dragon by battle! Once it's gone he'll have no protection. Lua!"
"Chacu Challhua, attack Life Stream Dragon!" His sealed immortal whale opens its mouth to assault the dragon. "Without your ace, you lose!"
Lua smirks when he sees his chance. With Chacu Challhua sealing away his Battle Phase, getting it to attack is his only option to win. "I gotcha! Trap card open; Armory Call!"
As his trap flips face up, a portal opens up. "I can take one Equip Magic card from my deck, and equip it to one monster I control. And I choose this!"
A sword shoots out and enters Life Stream, empowering it. "Solitary Sword of Poison gives Life Stream Dragon double attack points when it battles an opponent's monster!" The dragon howls as its strength increases.

"5800 ATK?!"
"Life Stream Dragon, counter! Destroy Earthbound God Chacu Challhua!" The dragon inhales greatly, causing light itself to bend into its maw. It then fires a golden beam of light. "LIFE IS A BEAUTY HOWL!"
The beam pierces through the center of the towering ghost killer whale, which keels upward to unleash an unholy wail. As it does, the souls of everyone inside are released ever swiftly. Bomber screams out in pain at his defeat, while his eyes return to normal.
Bomber: 0000
Lua: WIN
Lua shouts proudly, "I did it!"
As his victory is cemented, Chacu Challhua crashes into the ground. It then disappears, along with the Geoglyph.
With the fire gone, Yusei and Ushio go rushing to the scene. Luca is the first to reach him, despite also feeling tired herself. "Lua, you did it…"
"Luca…" He looks over to see Bomber on a knee. "Bomber!"
He groans, feeling the effects of his defeat take over. "Lua… you did it," he speaks as his body turns blacker. "You've grown splendidly as a duelist. You even saved my home…"
The boy smiles in his heart at the praise. As Yusei gets closer, Bomber turns to him. "Yusei… you were right about everything. Nothing remains after revenge…"
His back begins to turn to dust. "Please… defeat the Dark Signers… don't let Rudger get away with this…"
With that, he dies, scattering into the wind. The sky above rises in the daybreak, barely shining through the black clouds above.
Lua takes in a deep breath as his body feels the damage from before. Yusei catches him, hugging the boy. "Lua, good work out there. You did it."
The boy cries a lot at the praise as Ushio comes closer. "Yusei…" He rubs his eyes before turning to Lua, asking, "Are you okay? What happened?"
She answers, "I was in the Spirit Realm. Demak drew me in, so he can defeat me… he wanted payback for what Dad did to him."
"Dad? What did he do?"
"I don't want to talk about it." Luca turns to the spirit floating overhead. "Thank you, Ancient Fairy Dragon."
"Luca, the thanks are all yours." Ancient Fairy Dragon speaks, looming down upon the humans.
"Eh? Why is this shown here when the Solid Vision has been cut?" asks Ushio in surprise.
"That's because we're real."
That scares him, so much he passes out. Lua shakes his head, commenting on how useless adults can be.
"Demak's evil has been culled, and Life Stream Dragon has been set free from his seal." The blue dragon turns to Lua at that. "The Crimson Dragon had sent its servants into the world after the battle between the forces of light and darkness. Life Stream Dragon met you, and connected to you, but had itself sealed in response. It must have sensed something in you."
"Sensed something?"
"Your purpose will continue. But, the time will come when your true potential will be awakened." Ancient Fairy Dragon turns to the tower. "As Signers, we have to fulfill our purpose and protect this world and the Spirit Realm."
Ancient Fairy Dragon disappears, returning to Luca's deck.
Luca nods before turning to the tower. She walks over ready to put an end to her role. The three reach the tower, and Yusei opens it. The girl speaks, "Mikage-san said the four towers were controlling Old Momentum's rotation…"
Inside the dark room, there sits a panel with a monkey pattern. Luca holds up Ancient Fairy Dragon's card and places it at the center. Light spreads through the monkey symbol recognizing the card before the tower shakes.
"Let's go!" Yusei says as they leave, the little girl reclaiming her card before they do.
Exiting the tower, they watch as it slowly descends into the earth. The shaking awakens Ushio, who looks around exasperated.
"What happened?! Where's the dragon-" He sees nothing. "Eh? Nothing?! Where did it-"
"Just forget it," Lua tells him.
As he comes to accept that he was hallucinating, the kids laugh. Yusei turns in a different direction, nodding with determination. "That leaves three towers left. I'm going to settle things with Kiryu next."
Elsewhere…
Taking place as soon as Demak was defeated, we come to a silent dark room. Rudger sits while awaiting his targets, though he becomes shocked when he notices one of the four candles have gone out. "Demak… defeated… I guess Bomber failed."
Rudger sighs before turning down the doorway. "We just have to wait until sunset… even if they win…" He laughs with reassurance.
