Doctor Susie
Dil grunted, watching as Tommy and his friends played on the other side of the playpen. They were having so much fun and he really wanted to be a part of it. He wanted to prove that he was a good baby and that Tommy should pick him when the new Dils appeared.
"Tommy!" he called out, reaching out for his brother.
"Oh, I think Dil wants to play too," Tommy said only for Chuckie to shake his head.
"No way! I'm not letting him play with any of my toys!" He hugged Happy Harry, his new favorite doll. "Dil chews on all the blocks!" Dil looked at his soft blocks (he wasn't allowed the fun hard ones yet) that were covered in drool. "He rips up the stuffed aminals!" Dil looked at a patched MooMoo… she did look rather sad. "And he tries to eat our books!" Dil sucked his lips into his mouth; it had only been five times! Chuckie crossed his arms. "I'm not letting him near any of my stuff."
"Aw, come on Chuckie," Tommy said. "I bet Dil can play. Watch!" Tommy toddled over to Dil and held out his Reptar doll. "Okay Dilly, go ahead!"
Dil giggled and took the toy. It was so hard and had funny eyes. And its arms moved! Dil giggled as he jerked on the arm… and it popped out.
"A-da!" he said happily… only to see his brother tearing up. "Tommy?"
"You… broke… Reptar!" Tommy wailed before throwing back his head and sobbing.
In a rare reversal it was DIL who found himself trying to calm his brother.
"Tommy!" he pleaded, trying to reach out and comfort his brother only for Tommy to keep crying. "Tommy…"
"Oh my!" Didi exclaimed, hurrying over. "Its okay, Tommy, I'll-"
But Tommy saw his mommy reaching for Reptar and just knew she'd make him go away. So he grabbed the two pieces, crying as he ran from her, moving to the farthest part of the playpen.
"Tommy!" Didi pleaded, trying to get him to come over. But Tommy just shook his head and cringed from her, curling up into a ball, trying to protect Reptar.
"Warned ya, Deed," Betty said, going over and scooping Tommy up. "All that Goober stuff and hating Reptar? Not a good idea."
"I just… Tommy please," Didi said but Tommy pressed his face against Betty's shoulder.
"Its okay, pup, I'll fix your toy. I love Reptar." Tommy murmured at that and Betty smiled, patting him on the back.
"I told you!" Chuckie proclaimed, pointing at a cringing Dil. "He is a Toy Breaker!"
Dil's lip trembled before he began to cry.
Didi lifted him up and took him to the other room, gently rocking him. Dil sniffed because he could hear the other babies having fun without him.
Didi cried because she knew her baby was scared of her.
