'tomorrow is Christmas Eve! I actually did make it to remitas with gwen but the explosion put doctor octavius in a coma and fused his arm project right to him. The other doctor that was there is currently missing, norman is covering all of it up…. Maybe Otto was right about working at oscorp.' Peter thought to himself as he swung to a coffee lounge gwen was playing at while also keeping his eye out for any trouble.
When Peter arrived it was already half way through the second song. 'how did that happen?!' he questioned in frustration, the past few weeks things have been so hot and cold with him and gwen he didn't know what to do anymore.
As the show was ending he couldn't help but notice how much she seemed to… glow up there but when they were done she seemed to be in a VERY big hurry to leave. As pete stepped between her and the door she was less than amused and if you really looked at her face she even bordered on furious. "Whoa easy gwendy calm down what's going on?" He said with his hands up in defense. "I just got to go see my father before visiting hours are up Peter." 'peter huh…? Yeah that's how you know she's really mad' and his suggestion to go with her didn't do much to help. "No this is something I've got to do myself. I know it's not your fault but with your JOB it's a reminder… it's just easier for me alone ok." 'she still thinks it's Spider-Man who put her dad in jail…. Still I can't blame her for wanting to go alone.' "call me if you need anything ok?" He told her but it seemed to fall on deaf ears, can't really blame her there, she kissed him real quick before talking off.
MJ was watching all of it, she seemed overly interested in the two of them almost like miles is but a little less weird. "Wow tiger gwen sure took off fast she catch you in an orgee or something…? ('thanks for the image MJ') seriously Pete what's going on with you two?" The no nonsense redhead pleaded. As they themselves were walking home on the cold night he explained some of the baggage he had with gwen "I mean yeah I'd be upset too but she's jumping to conclusions blaming Spider-man and besides why she have to take it out on you? It's not like you had anything to do with it right that…?" 'i don't like how she asked that…. What's she getting at?' but before any more thought could go into it the conversation was put to an abrupt end when explosions of bright green light went off nearby and he slipped away when her attention was drawn to it.
Spider-man swung over and came face to face with what looked like the missing dr. Arvad wearing a strange green suit and his eyes were now a bright glowing green matching the explosive energy. "Whoa doctor Arvad is that you? Where have you been? What happened to you?" But the scientists body started bouncing around back and forth as a beam of green energy until crashing right into the wall crawler knocking him hard on his spider ass. "I'm not Arvad anymore Spider-man! Now I am will o' the wisp!" Even Matt murdock would be able to see Spideys confusion. "Will o' the wisp? Really? That's a really weird name dude! What about the living lazer I mean sure it's taken but when it comes to code names there's no honor among thieves right..? I mean just look at shocker and vulture!" Spidey both mocked and suggested while trying to dodge the weirdo zipping around.
While spider had his hands full with the living green energy man gwen was sitting in new York state pen holding on to a phone looking through the glass in front of her at her father. "How many times do I have to tell you gweny to stop coming here or at the very least bring that boyfriend of yours with you…" george said a bit annoyed, very depressed but with a wink and smirk at the end. "Peter has other concerns to deal with dad" the hostility towards her boy definitely didn't escape his attention however "gwen what's going on with you and parker? Huh? Look despite his issues he's a good kid and you care about each other I'd hate to see you throw that all away." "It's spider-mans fault you're in here and Peter is out there as his personal paparazzi making more and more people see him as a hero every day. I just can't act like everything is fine while my father sits in prison for the rest of his life for something he didn't even do!" George looked at his daughter very seriously more say then he has for a very long time. "Look gwen you need to stop worrying about me stop trying to blame Spider-man for everything ok? Gweny do you love Peter? (She nods her head) than that should be enough sweetie."
Back with the webhead will o' the wisp is continuing to zapped Spidey back and forth "whoa hang on wispy stop the ride I'm gonna be sick!" But the energy being kept bouncing him around back and forth causing bruises and burns from the strange energy. "Seriously doctor Arvad you need help! Who knows what's happened to your body you could burn out or something!" But before he could truly be convinced they were interrupted by another and long lost villain.
"Back off you glowing fool! Spider-man is mine to squash! Said a man in a black and green body suit with a familiar purple cape and fishbowl helmet. "Mysterio!? Wait beck is that you in there?" The hero questioned just in case it was a new guy too. "Of course fool who else!" The villain voiced with pure vial. As he started fighting with will o' as Spidey watched from the side of a street light. "You'd be surprised how many of my enemies are different people now but it's nice to know only you would walk around with a fishbowl on your face beck!" Our hero pointed out.
After Spideys little comment both green clad maniacs started focusing all their efforts towards him when his normal phone rang "oh hey gwen what's up? How was your dad?" "Hey Pete are you busy? Nevermind I'm on my way over there's some stuff we need to take care of. I'll be there in 10 minutes petey" "sure thing! See you soon gwendy." 'that was probably a mistake to be so gunho when I've got these two weirdos to deal with' but less than a minute later wisp started screaming out in pain as he began to rapidly flicker 'oh no I was right! The accident made his energy unstable! He's coming apart! He's….' "doctor Arvad!" Pete yelled out in anguish but it was too late he had already mostly faded away.
"Well now that that annoyance is gone Spider-man I should finally eliminate you but my benefactor has other plans, a real fierce one Spider-man. You'll be no match for our fearsome five." Mysterio taunted as he disappeared. 'fearsome five? That's lame, oh shit I gotta get home before gwen shows up!' as he eagerly swing's towards his neighborhood.
When gwen got there she didn't even come inside but she made it clear that she's been dwelling on everything for a while but her dad reminded her to try to live her life for herself and she apologized for how she had been acting. "Gwen if anyone should be apologizing here it's me I mean I am trying to do better but I'm a…. I'm a giant shit show. You sure you don't want to come inside it's freezing out there" gwen started smiling this adorable heart melting smile, even more so with her rosy cheeks from the cold. "Pete whatever we've both got going on I love you and that's what matters right." She said as her lips found themselves glued to his but aunt may walked over lecturing about heating the outside with the door open like that. "Oh gwen hi! Did you want to come in dear?" The ageing parker of the house asked, gwen was like a daughter to may. "No thanks Mrs. Parker I gotta get home" "let's drop this Mrs. Parker stuff it's may sweetie." "Right may goodnight, night pete see ya tomorrow" gwen said giving his lips another peck before walking home.
Around that time at the hospital in the room containing the comatose doctor the four metal arms now grafted onto his body started wildly flailing and attacking anyone around before otto's eyes suddenly opened.
Early that afternoon of Christmas Eve right as Peter had woken up and was about to call to invite gwen over his arachnophone rang. "Yes captain" "bad news kid that oscorp doctor that was in a comma well he woke up. He slaughtered the staff and disappeared, he's dangerous someone we'll most likely have to clean up." Dewolff told him.
