In the watson home on one late January morning there is one very excited blonde girl. "Wow oh my God dad you're here! You're out!" She yelled in disbelief while clinging to him as if he could vanish any second once again behind bars. "I'm here gweny I'm here. After Lincolns rampage and that new evidence it was enough to overturn my conviction, now all I gotta do is convince yuri to let me back on the force." George said while doing his best to reassure his daughter that he was real. At that moment the redhead announced what she was thinking "so what time's the celebration?(but when everyone was giving her a strange look she explained) you just got off a life sentence for a crime you didn't commit, this calls for a party!"
Meanwhile Peter parker and harry osborn were spending their morning patrolling the city from the sky "listen harry I appreciate the help and you're actually pretty good with that stuff but you really shouldn't make this a regular thing, it's way too dangerous man!" The web headed hero told his best friend desperately trying to talk him out of being a hero but Harry just chuckles "did you forget we fought tombstone together? The guy was pretty much invincible and I'm still ok. Look it you want me to hang back for a while fine but I got your back if you need it bro." Just then harrys cell phone rang with a very loud and obnoxious rap song "hello?" He answered only to hear the sultry voice of the other red head in their circle of friends "hey harry get that lavish penthouse and that checkbook ready cause tonight we're partying!" "I'm always down for a good party MJ but what's the occasion? WHAT!? He is?! Yeah of course no problem I'll take care of everything!" With all the commotion he was making his red and blue friend turned to look and ask what that was all about. "Dude we did it! Well mostly you man! Gwens' dad's out! Look I got to go prepare for the party tonight, it's gonna be at 8 don't forget man." He announced before flying off on his glider.
When gwen and her dad got a second alone without any prying watson eyes george brought up the elephant in the room. "You know it's dangerous being with Parker now sweetie." But gwen was frozen from a look of shock, completely unable to continue putting the t-shirt she was holding into her suitcase. "You know? How come he never told me you know!?" She was starting to get upset now, every time she thought she could move past peter's mask something else comes up. George is clearly uncomfortable squirming as he searches for the right words and tries not to laugh. "Honestly I can't say I blame the kid after all last time we talked I told him to break up with you" he exclaimed while throwing his arms to the side. At that gwen was nearly stiff as a board, her eyes showing how livid she is at her father regardless of just getting him back. "You did what!? Dad that is none of your business! If me and Peter are gonna break up because what he does that's between me and him!" She screams at him before storming out of the room and the house and off to school.
After Spidey once again stopped lowlife Jason mackindale from stealing from a pawn shop, not to mention prevented him from getting shot by the owner, he made his way towards school but running late.
First period had already started and mister Arron warren was pissed about yet another absence from the brunette science nerd. 'i guess I have to try to cover for him…' gwen thought to herself before trying to come up with a plausible excuse but since she doesn't have all day she tells the teacher that has had enough "oh peter's gonna be a little late today, he's interviewing my dad for the bugles J communications." After about 10 minutes he finally made it to class "really mister parker how long does it take to interview the man? (When he noticed peter's look of confusion he elaborated) miss stacy said you were interviewing her father for J communications but according to the bugles website that's not in today's lineup…. You two are an idem right (he pointed back and forth between them as they nodded a little unsure) parker you've got a good woman here if she's so willing to get herself in trouble covering for you. That's detention for both of you!" "What wait no mister warren don't punish gwen for this.(he exclaimed before than nearly whispering) look you know she's been through a lot and she's got to go to her days welcome back party tonight. Do what you want to me but leave gwen out of it. Please." The teen hero pleaded with one of the teachers that seems to hate him the most. "Very well then. I'm impressed mister parker now please take your seat."
Later that afternoon across town in a disgusting alleyway lay a bunch of gangsters all slaughtered with captain jean dewolff and her officers on the scene including one jefferson davis still more than a little on edge from his last encounter that the web swinging crusader standing not two feet away from detective stan carter "these guys were murderers serves them right, I'm glad Spideys finally started taking more drastic measures." Said the detective setting off a fire within Jeff "what's your problem Spider-man nearly killed my brother!" But carter isn't really phased If anything he's disgusted "your brother was the prowler." Before any real fight could happen jean split them up before calling out to one of the C.S.I.s "kafka! What do we got?" C.S.I. Ashley kafka was a slender and tanned woman with short dark hair and wearing a labcoat. "Well captain we've IDed everyone all on our most wanted list, they were gunned down real quick out of nowhere, doesn't seem to be any prints, we'll see if we can get a match on ballistics." She told her boss before heading back to the precinct to run the evidence.
Not long later in the cafeteria of midtown high Peter is sitting at the table with harry waiting to see if gwen joins them, apparently doctor warren kept her after her chemistry class ended for something. In the meantime he's watching Jonah jabber talking about this serial killer the mustache journalist is calling the sin eater when MJ sneaks up behind him out of nowhere. "Hey tiger! There's something I gotta talk to you about!" The sudden shock caused him to fall on his ass but she just pulled him back up without missing a beat "you work for the daily bugle network right?! Any chance you can get me a job there too?!" She shouted with such speed as she was practically hyperventilating. Trying his best to calm the firey girl down he asked "take it easy MJ, remember to breathe. Where's this sudden interest in journalism coming from? I thought you were a performer?" "Well spider-man saved me last night and I actually got to talk to him a little and something about it just felt right" she had a strange glint in her eye as she told him that "besides just cause I'm hot doesn't mean I can only do things that show off my face" she added before going off to grab herself some lunch. Just as MJ was leaving gwen plopped herself down next to Peter "so my dad knows too and wanted you to dump me huh? Were you ever gonna tell me this?" She asks while giving him this really intense look. "No. I didn't want to put you in the position of you versus your dad and I never wanted to actually do what he wanted. I thought we could work things out." He said solemnly hanging his head low. "Look you guys already know my opinion on this and it's getting awkward so I'm gonna go call the caterer for tonight. Bye" harry interjected before taking off away from the table. "Look maybe we can, maybe we can't. I don't know but I'm willing to see." Peter definitely perked up at that "really? You're actually willing to give me a chance after everything?" "It's definitely not going to be an easy adjustment but I'll try." "I love you" seemed like all he could say.
While Peter was sitting in detention a tall, overweight man with a scruffy beard, sunglasses and a matching mustard hat and sweater is working in a large warehouse when he stumbled upon a broken crate where he pulls out two giant mechanical gauntlets complete with razer sharp claws that he was more than willing to try on.
When he was finally released from mister warrens punishment he was more than a little surprised to find Gwen waiting for him right by the front door of the school. As soon as she saw him she started to put on her coat and everything getting ready for the harsh New York winter. "Gwe…. Gwen… dy? You.. you waited for me?" "I told you I'm gonna try, now come on let's go." "Actually I gotta stop by the bugles office, you get your dad and head over to harrys I'll meet you there." "Sure but can you please try to avoid any Spider-man set backs?" She asked while fishing out her car keys.
When he got to the bugle he noticed J.J. talking to a couple new faces. "HEY PARKER! BOUT TIME YOU GOT HERE! COME MEET MY SON ASTRONAUT AND AIR FORCE COLONEL JOHN JAMESON! oh and that's fred fosswell, he's our foreign corespondent and just got back." The loud and greying reporter exclaimed. John jameson looked a lot like his dad but with light brown hair as opposed to greying black, he also didn't have a mustache and was dressed in what looked to be a nasa issued jumpsuit. Fosswell was a stout and skinny man with mustard blonde curly hair and a big ole handlebar mustache. 'they seem nice enough' he thought as he went over to betty to pick up his check only to find ned leeds there too. "Oh hey ned. Good afternoon betty, you mind if I get my check?" Betty seemed to be struggling to contain giggles "no problem pete, just give me a sec" on his way out after getting his money he ran into eddie. 'eddie really is a mess and I wasn't exactly here for him when that stupid symbiote was on me. Gotta make up for that now.' "hey Eddie, how you doing man? Look I'm sorry I've been a dick lately. Listen there's a party tonight at harry osborns house, it's for Gwens' dad you should come." That seemed to make eddie genuinely smile before all media feeds cut out replaced by a woman dressed in a pink and white tight fitting jumpsuit, giant pink framed gold lensed goggles, a big old set of headphones on over her long and bright pink flowing hair. "Helllllloooo! New York! I'm screwball and I've hidden a bomb on the george washington bridge! Unless Spider-man gets there in the next 30 minutes imma be blowing it up!" 'ehhh perfect now I've got this lunatic to deal with and it's already almost 7! I really don't have time for this' he thinks to himself as he takes off towards the bridge.
When he arrives there he sees a few pink and white floating drones, and screwball herself just standing there waving. "Ok I'm here where's the bomb?" Spideys asked more than a little irritated and quite obviously. But screwball just looks confused before bursting into hysterical laughter "haha there's no bomb Spidey! I just wanted my fans and YOUR fans to get to see the hero of New York that took down that tombstone guy!" 'wasn't expecting that…' "oh well…. That's nice and all but you made a bomb threat. All over the airwaves. That's something to joke about, it was nice to meet you I guess but I gotta go now. I'm sorry." As he starts to prepare to swing away screwball becomes down right furious and orders the drones to start attacking our hero.
While Spideys is still dealing with screwball and her drones some guests have already arrived to the party including some of his cop friends like the chief and captain. "Ah chief watanabe it's good to see you again. Any chance I could come back on the force?" George asked hopeful to return to some kind of normal for him "if you remember I demoted you, dewolffs the captain now george." Yuri told him but he quickly started to backpedal "no no no I don't want to take her new job back or anything like that. She's done good work." Yuri started smiling as if he passed a test. "That's what I want to hear stacy. you're a good cop way too good for the beat. Detective." She told him before he was bear hugged by one may parker.
By the time he destroyed the drones attacking him not only was screwball long gone but he was already late to the party. When he got there and met up with gwen she was trying to hold back tears before storming out with peter close behind ignoring the newly appointed detectives shouts. When he caught up with gwen and turned her to face him she broke down. "All I asked was for you to give me tonight without any Spider-man stuff just one night and you couldn't!" "Gwen it was a bomb threat I couldn't just ignore it" "but it wasn't real! You should have headed here immediately, you're not the only hero in the city pete! Couldn't you have just looked the other way!?" That seemed to trigger something within him, he became really rigid and focused. "I can't ever look the other way again gwen" by now gwen is a mess unable to decide to go closer and embrace him or run off and be furious with him. "And usually that's something I love about you but not like this" "what are you saying" he asked her on edge fearing what she would tell him but before she could say anything she was hoisted up by a big metal clawed metal arm. "This place is full of money and the grizzly has got himself a hostage!" The wannabe super villain calling himself grizzly shouted while waving gwen back and forth like she was some prize to be paraded around. 'oh no after the year I've had there's no way I'm gonna be kidnapped by some weirdo with bear claws and a lumberjack beard' gwen thought to herself before elbowing grizzly in the face. Hard.
As soon as he dropped her to deal with his own pain Peter Rushed her back inside the party before suiting up and barricading the door with webbing. "Alright fuzzy wuzzy time for you to really have no hair!" The hero jokenly taunted much to the villains confusion before beating the hell out of him. 'i usually try not to hurt anyone especially if they're just normal dudes. I mean just because they're bad guys doesn't mean they can't be helped BUT HE ENDANGERED GWEN'
When he made it back inside he met up with gwen again checking up on her and everything. "Look gwen in light of what just happened maybe you're right, maybe we shouldn't be together. I can't have you risk your safety just for me, I couldn't live with myself" he told her with so much sadness and heartbreak anyone could feel it but as he goes to walk away gwen tries to stop him because truth be told somehow this experience has brought gwen to the exact opposite conclusion: she can handle no matter what shit dating Spider-man will bring. Before she could tell him that however the party comes to a sudden stop by the arrival of one royally pissed off wealthy C.E.O. norman osborn himself. "HARRY WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?! WHAT ARE ALL THESE PEOPLE DOING…( but his rant stopped when he noticed the greying policeman no longer in prison) Stacy. What are you doing here? Why aren't you in prison?" The man asked with such distain. "Hey norman. I was cleared of all charges but we'll all leave you be now. Come on everyone let's go come on!" George said eager to get away from norman as quickly as possible.
Late at night past midnight on the cold, now February, night at the newly rerented stacy apartment. the landlord stan went on a whole soapbox about their disappearing and reappearing tenancy, Spidey arrives outside Gwens' window quietly knocking a few times, when she opens the window she more than a little confused needless to say "look gwen if our relationship is gonna end I want you to experience what it's like first. It can be really cool and exhilarating but don't worry I won't drop you I'd never let anything happen to you" he was speaking really fast, almost faster than MJ was before and he couldn't seem to hear Gwens attempts at interrupting his rant until finally she shouted. Loudly. "PETER! (That stopped him) I'm not breaking up with you. Tonight I saw that you don't cause all the chaos you fight you're just trying to keep everyone safe from it, I guess on some level I've always known that I just needed to see it for myself. I don't approve of your whole masked vigilante thing but I know you're just trying to help, and no way am I ever EVER going swinging around with you pete. I am absolutely terrified of those kind of heights. Goodnight pete, love you" she told him before leaning over out the window and giving him a kiss.
Around the same time goblin is flying around the city in circles ranting to himself "stacy you're back on the force?! You're out of jail?! Well then something must be done about that hhheeeeee haaaaaaaaa!"
A/N well here's…. This. I've probably been drinking way too much tonight but we'll see what happens I guess. We got some future villains set up, Peter and gwen are really trying to make it work and how will george adjust to his new role within the police? What does goblin have planned?
