On the morning of that first day of February a young and skinny super powered teen wakes up in his old townhouse feeling much more positive and hopeful than he has for quite some time. 'things are actually pretty good now pete: gwen's accepting what I do, her bands playing tonight so I promised I'd be there, harry is actually a pretty good hero despite the danger and hey George is back. For once life's good'
When the brunette boy skipped merrily to the last step towards the kitchen two figures entered from the opposite side of the room one a rather large woman with auburn hair dressed in a yellow and pink sundress the other a short and skinny woman with curly greying brown hair dressed in a maroon t-shirt covered by a purple plaid jacket and navy blue baggy sweatpants. These women of course are may parker and Anna watson. "Wow you haven't taken off yet?!" The kindly and overworked aunt said to her nephew with the utmost shock and with a tinge of bitterness. Not quite awake enough to catch on to his aunt's tone the young man proceeds to great her as if everything is fine "Peter I've hardly seen you for a month, you act erratic and unlike yourself, you're out all hours. We've become strangers to each other! After school we are going to do something together, gwen too. I haven't seen her in a while either." The loving mother figure that was all he's ever known informed him with no choice in the matter.
A little while later at crime central kingpin was going over past events on one of the many computer monitors with severe distain. "Hammerhead, the enforcers, tombstone! All these debacles because of that wall crawling menace!" He whaled as he smashed the monitor to pieces with his fist. A tall, skinny, elderly man with a mustache who was standing in the room then spoke up ignoring the risk to himself "I have a few more ideas ready and the test subjects for them" but the large crime lord lunged himself upward Into his face in even greater anger. "I've had it with your costly and worthless experiments mason! No I'm calling in an expert to handle this."
When Peter and gwen made it to school that morning they heard the regular spider centric conversation in the courtyard between miles, ganke and flash. "I told you he needed someone to watch his back but the goblin knight is much cooler than I expected" ganke said while still insisting he wanted to be Spideys "guy in the chair" while flash was just enthusiastically saying how he's glad Spideys acting like a hero again in his old red and blues, miles on the other hand had something else in mind "I just don't know if I could ever support Spider-man again after what he did to my uncle" but once again the 11th grade edge lord of midtown high Michelle gonzalez walked in the discussion wearing a rundown jade green jacket covering a shirt that said "my fists are up here d*ckhead" brown curly hair draping down in her scowling face. "It's no surprise Spider-man went all MMA on your uncle morales after all he's a criminal that does what he wants without answering to no one. If my brother runs into him he will be brought down." She says before strutting off like she was never there.
Once Peter and gwen were inside the school they had about 5 minutes before homeroom, Peter had to catch up on a few assignments and gwen needed to meet with student council so she gave his lips a quick peck before parting ways. Once gwen was out of earshot harry walked over and greeted his friend "morning bud, looks like gwen's started to be cool about your secret… so what are we gonna do about my dad being the green goblin?" He asked that last part with baited breath. As they continued into the homeroom they shared Peter continued the conversation "first things first we need to be absolutely sure if it's him and if it is we get him the help he needs, I promise you harry I would never let anything happen to your dad. (Sensing the Dower mood of his wealthy friend he tried to lighten the mood) hey harry guess what they're calling you? The goblin knight." You could tell by the look of confusion, disappointment and disgust on the young osborns' face what he thought of the name but he voiced it anyway "phhttt how lame. Hobgoblin is so much better isn't it?!"
That was the moment doctor martha connors entered the room, she had taken up being the homeroom advisor and bio teacher full time after Curts' downfall. "Alright everyone take your seats you know the drill and parker?! You'd better have your project submission for the fisktronics scholarship in today." 'eh can't believe I have to get a scholarship from the kingpin just to afford college' "yes ma'am. Um forgive me for asking but how's mister doctor connors doing?" He wanted to try and help the poor man whose life fell apart just because he wanted his arm back. "I wouldn't know anymore, billy and I have been staying with my sister the past few days. Truth be told something broke in curt and I'm not sure how to help him and I just can't take it" she answered much to the shock and horror of the young hero.
When gwen got out of the meeting she was surprised to see MJ waiting in the hall for her, it really is amazing how they went from at each others throats to such close friends so fast. "Hey girl how'd it go?" The take now she redhead asked her intellectual blonde friend while walking towards their first class, for gwen it was the history class she shared with Peter but for MJ it was a calculus class that she happened to share with harry and flash. "Well they want us to perform tonight for the basketball game, they're even gonna pay us!" "Wow our first paying gig huh!? Maybe I should put journalism on hold for a while then… catch you later gwen." The girl reacted in surprise and uncertainty before parting ways with her friend.
By now the kingpins expert had arrived, he was a large and muscular man dressed in a strange orange, black and white colored costume, pouches and weapons all over, big white hood dangling up over his metal skull shaped mask. "Not to worry kingpin I never fail, you just give me the money and taskmaster will get it done" he said while studying footage of Spider-man fighting. "Good. Mysterio said that scorpion mentioned he's just a school kid, see if he really is connected to midtown high." The large man in a white suit "suggested" to his new employee. "Listen Fisk I do things my own way, you don't like it tough shit. School seems like a dead end but the bugle might not be, I'll start there.
By the time lunch rolled around things were more than a little uncomfortable when Peter arrived at his usual table with gwen by his side where not only sat harry and MJ but also jessica, glory, Cindy, Liz, flash and a large half japanese man named kenny but people usually call him kong. The glare jessica was giving towards the two teens, Peter especially, could melt the North Pole. "Hey uh gwen…? Why you still with Parker!?" She asked rather loudly in front of everyone not caring at all about the awkwardness she had just created. Jessica will always be a very blunt and tactless girl, she was raised to be a know it all by her scientist father so even with her long wavy raven hair, big crystal blue eyes and tall and slim stature all she ever does is drive people away. "Look guys I know I've been a dick lately but I'm telling you I'm over it. I have absolutely no intentions of hurting gwen" the young parker announced to his circle of friends and acquaintances with gwen just giving an agreeing nod before turning to him smiling.
Peter's phone starts ruining. Loudly with the caller ID showing the person he wants to hear from LEAST. Jameson. "PARKER! YOU'RE FRIENDS WITH THE STACYS RIGHT? WELL I NEED YOU TO GET HERE AND VIDEO OUR INTERVIEW WITH THE FORMERLY IMPRISONED POLICEMAN THIS INSTANCE! WHY ARE YOU STILL SITTING THERE? COME ON! GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE!" beep beep beep as he hung up with everyone at the table sitting there with frozen looks on their faces as they had heard every word, Jonah volume.
When he arrived he saw george stacy waiting outside J.J.s office as the mustache man was yelling at eddie brock. As mentioned before the Jonah volume meant the whole office could hear it. "THIS SIN EATER HAS BEEN KILLING DOZENS OF PEOPLE AND YOUR TELLING ME YOU HAVE NOTHING ON IT? WHAT GIVES BROCK? MAYBE YOU COULD GET AWAY WITH DOING NOTHING IN YOUR LAST JOB BUT THAT SHIT DOESN'T FLY WITH ME!" the broken man stalked out of the office shoulders slouched and head down not even responding to petes' greetings. Before they both entered jonah's office george went up to the hero and once again insisted he needed to break up with gwen to keep her safe. "I already told you she'll be fine, we're working things out, we've got bigger worries like the goblin and kingpin. We need to go over some Intel later." Peter told the former captain and protective father of his girlfriend, before jameson opened his door inviting them both in.
In the midst of the interview a series of miniature explosions went off revealing taskmaster standing at the center of the room. "I'm only gonna ask this once. Where is Spider-man?" But jameson barged out of his office in anger demanding he pay for the damages before vacating the premises to which taskmaster responded by pulling out a sword and swinging right along the journalists neckline. The only thing that saved him was the sudden tackle of Peter parker "WHOA! THANKS FOR THE SAVE STACY I OWE…. WHAT? PARKER?" "Wait those movements, that build… you! Kid! Who are you?" Taskmaster demanded 'oh great. Now what do I do?' but that question was tabled when the now detective george stacy pulled out his gun and started shooting the threatening Merc, the criminal had a bullet proof vest of course but it pushed him back enough that he retreated. "This kind of thing is why you need to let gwen go" the cop told the hero before rushing out the building calling the situation in on his radio.
At around 5:30 that evening may parker, Peter parker and gwen stacy are having dinner inside Romittas italian restaurant and even though May claimed she needed to spend more time with her nephew all she was doing was talking to gwen. Peter was feeling very uncomfortable at the awkward situation but when taskmaster shows up in front of them he'd much rather deal with that awkwardness. "Did you really think I wouldn't find you kid? You're connected to the Spider-man aren't you?" He asks threateningly while waving his sword around in his face, every other customer is in the process of rushing out the door when Peter whispers to his girlfriend trying very hard not to freak out at how often this shit happens "get May to safety" before he splashes his drink all over taskmasters mask causing the distraction allowing may and gwen to escape.
As may is desperately trying to get out of Gwens' grasp and go back inside to her nephew Peter gets taskmaster to throw him across the restaurant and into the back kitchen so he can change. 'i really hated that plan' but before he goes back to fight the mercenary he gives Harry a call. "Hey Harry? Buddy? I'm at Romittas and I could use some help over here" "on my way dude" with that he swings in front the skylight, this italian restaurant has quite the elegant atmosphere when not being attacked by super villains. "Hey there skelatore! Looking for me?" The web slinger mocked as he landed in front of him. "You're a fool to face me Spider-man! I know all your moves, there's nothing you can do that I can't counter!" The madman claimed just as he was sent hurdling on the ground by the swift and powerful side of a goblin glider crashing into him, with that Spidey webbed him up to leave for the police. "Thanks for the save man. You really are pretty good at this dude but that doesn't mean you don't need to be careful" "don't worry Spider-man I've got your back. Now what do we do with this guy?" Harry asked while turning back over to look at taskmaster only to discover that he was gone.
After Harry flew off pete change out of his suit and went out the back door for employees to take out the trash to meet up with his aunt and his girlfriend. When may saw her nephew she embraced him in a powerful bear hug while sobbing in his shoulder. "Oh Peter I thought I lost you too! Are you ok? What happened?" "I know aunt may. It's ok I'm fine don't worry." He did his best to reassure the woman who raised him but nothing seemed to help. A while later when they were dropping gwen off at home, once again living in her old apartment with her dad a few miles away from the parker home, Peter had reconsidered what george said. "Hey um gwen maybe your dad's right. Maybe it really is too dangerous for us to be together, I can't let anything happen to you gwendy. I can't." He told her as he started to break down. "That's not his decision. I know you want to keep me safe but I can take care of myself, we love each other so we should be together alright. Besides there's no way you're breaking up with me with Valentine's day right around the corner Peter Parker." She said as she kissed him before heading inside both teenagers completely forgetting about the performance the mary janes are supposed to have at the same time.
When Spider-man arrives at the roof of the police precinct he finds not only george but also jean waiting there for him. "Hello captain, captains? Captain detective? I don't know what to call you guys now?" The webhead greets them with frustration before george spoke up "relax kid it's the same deal as before except now you have both of us watching your back, now what's this intel you have?" "It's about our two crime bosses, one's just suspicion but the other is a certainty. There's a chance the green goblin is Norman osborn but the kingpin IS wilson fisk." Both cops mouths practically hit the floor hung open "fisk!? Wilson fisk the wealthy philanthropist is the kingpin of crime?!" Captain dewolff exclaimed in disbelief but also completely believed him. "Damn he's gonna be even tougher to take down then I thought." George expressed in a frustrated tone bordering on hopelessness as Spidey walked up and whispered to the man "I tried to break up with her but she wouldn't let me. I'm sorry." Before george could say anything the red and blue clad hero was rushing towards the edge of the roof announcing that he could take him down, dewolff tried to stop him but he already left.
That night at crime center a young hero swings onto the desk full of monitors in front of wilson fisk himself "wilson fisk the kingpin of crime the time has come for you to pay for your crimes!" Spider-man tells him right in his face with oozing confidence only to be caught off guard as the large man just starts laughing at him. He picks him up and throws him across the room with no such effort at all before stepping on his spider emblemed chest "how foolish of you Spider-man, did you really think you could just come in here like this and that would be the end of it? Ha! I own this city, I could kill you myself but why should I when I can get someone else to" he ranted as he walked back over to his desk pressing a call button. Within seconds a half black half hispanic police officer in his late 20s that was very tall and skinny with a shaved head busted into the room with his gun drawn. "Officer gonzalez please dispose of this pest for me" 'officer gonzalez? Michelle's brother? He's on kingpins payroll too?!' the webhead thought to himself furious at himself for his stupidity before flinging himself right out through the glass window heading towards home.
A few hours later gwen got an angry text from one mary jane watson.
Gwen where the hell were you?! We had to put Jess on the drums and she was horrible! People threw their garbage at us!
A/N well spidey and kingpin have finally met face to face! How hard will it be for Peter to adjust to working with both dewolff and george now that george openly knows his secret? How pissed off do you think MJ will be at Gwens' flakiness? We'll see. My version of Michelle gonzalez is obviously making fun of Michelle jones in the MCU which by the way is the biggest middle finger, you don't just make up an entirely new character, make them as unlikable as possible and then slap on the nickname of one of THE MOST important characters in the Spider-man universe!
