Star Wars Xion 9
-Am I a slaver? -Anakin asked himself a couple of hours later, when the Separatists, having been unsuccessful in their ambush, had deployed their army in earnest and would soon be coming all out against them.
The Separatists had the space and they had only had one stealth ship to bring in reinforcements and supplies, which was no longer there because the Republic's resources were so limited and it had already been sent elsewhere. Right now, they were on their own.
This planet was an industrial center and as always, they could not allow it to fall into the hands of the Separatists.
-Master, I will infiltrate enemy territory, capture their leader, and the war in this place will be over," said Anakin. I've done it dozens of times when someone thinks they're setting me up.
-Anakin, we have the heavy artillery, tanks and a clear path. Besides, our supplies are sufficient, we won't starve to death by waiting," explained Obi-Wan, who preferred to wait. I'm also waiting for my new Padawan….
Anakin heard nothing more after that. "She's here," Anakin thought, his heart racing before he could divert his attention to the Force.
-Anakin? -Obi-Wan asked.
-I'm fine. I think we'd better wait for supplies and I'll go see what I can do in the meantime," Anakin said, hurrying off to find a corner to meditate.
Ahsoka Tano, the Padawan who was about to arrive, was his favorite Star Wars character and also his favorite Jedi. She had personality, just like Anakin, but unlike him, she faced and overcame all his trials. She was funny, human and approachable, as well as being a survivor and a hard head. Anakin had fallen in love with her in the first season of the Clone Wars, even though the animation style didn't appeal to him and was very different from reality. She was on this planet and didn't even know it….
Anakin shook his head vigorously. He wasn't Xion, he was Anakin, and he wasn't going to let the feelings of a fanatic rule him.
Anakin wasn't right, his feelings were a mess. "Those miserable old men know that Ahsoka is my weakness," Anakin growled in his mind. He wondered if they had sent her there just to disturb him, for he had already made it clear that he did not want an apprentice. The fact that Ahsoka was assigned to him and Xion's feelings were out of control didn't help matters.
That day, more than ten years ago now, he lost all his self-control when he saw her, and she was just a baby. He didn't even realice that he had bonded with her. He was so blind at the time that he didn't notice that Yoda and Jadle had used the Force to give Ahsoka trouble and force him to intervene. Those two trolls were very sinister….
Anakin shook his head again. In the series, Ahsoka Tano was designed to be a sort of daughter to Anakin, since he already had Padmé… His heart raced at the thought of her.
"Leave me alone, a woman who's going to die if I go after her and she'll take me to the dark side, and a teenage girl, seriously, you're killing me here!" chided Anakin to his own heart. If his god cells weren't dozens of years away from assimilating his body, he would suspect that the lust of the Xion ATG was attacking him.
On the other hand, since he had come to this world, he had not been with a woman. He was too busy, and getting rid of his desires had been too easy in recent years. The Force was proving to be very useful in simple things. It may not have been god-level power, but it was very useful.
Anakin shook his head one last time before he reached his room and began to meditate. He didn't even know who the hell he was anymore, but he knew he would have no peace in the near future because it would be impossible to get rid of these feelings. He was in love with Padmé, even though he knew it would end badly. It wasn't even a good idea if she wasn't a tool of Palpatine's to tempt him. They were not compatible.
If you were talking about compatibility, he and Ahsoka were soul mates, they were practically the same character. Ahsoka was wild, rebellious, restless, impatient and eager to prove herself. They were like two peas in a pod, that's why they were his two favorite characters… Anakin felt like crying, he promised himself that the Council would pay for his suffering at the hands of this fucking freak… "I love myself," Anakin thought.
"Aaaah!" shrieked Anakin in his mind. "Elders, I'm gonna get it!", Anakin shouted in his head, concentrating on his meditation and forcibly dismissing everything, even his own thoughts. He didn't even want to listen to himself anymore. If he kept doing this, one of these days he would wake up and she would be no different than other women to him….
-It's a crappy plan, I still can't get rid of my feelings for Padmé and it's been a year since I got rid of all feelings for her, but she screams, and I go running to wag my tail," Anakin complained in his mind.
-General Skywalker, the supplies have arrived," a soldier reported. Anakin swallowed hard.
-Just be polite, follow protocol, don't do anything crazy, dismiss anything you feel strongly about, and everything will be fine," he advised himself.
Five minutes later, he found himself face to face with a skinny, somewhat skinny, big-eyed teenage girl who was a Padawan. Anakin approached her calmly, examining every feeling that came to him and forcibly dismissing anything that seemed inappropriate. The thrill of meeting her went out of him by force. She was hermo… before he even formed that thought, all emotions attached to it were dismissed.
-Anakin, it seems there was a bit of a mix-up and the Jedi Council….
-Even though I was very… extremely specific that I did not want a Padawan and that I would resign from the Order if I was assigned one? -Anakin asked with a sigh. Obi-Wan cleared his throat.
-Well… this… this… this…" Obi-Wan stammered. Anakin shook his head regretfully and placed his hand on the shoulder of the little togruta, who seemed increasingly afraid of being rejected.
-"Ahsoka Tano, welcome aboard, I hope this ends well for both of you," Anakin said with complete sincerity. He calmly withdrew his hand as he dismissed a flood of emotions without even examining them. Then he looked at Obi-Wan.
-Master, you and the Council are going to be my undoing," Anakin said with a sigh.
-Anakin, it will be all right. You'll do fine," Obi-Wan consoled. "Well my ass, you just made my life very difficult, don't expect a Christmas present," Anakin chided in his mind.
-Master, how did you know my name? -Ahsoka asked with a frown. Obi-Wan blinked, realizing that Ahsoka had not introduced herself to him at any point.
-Ahsoka, sometimes the Force shows me things, tells me things or warns me things. And the fact that you came to this place is something I had already seen," said Anakin without telling the whole truth, but all his words were true. Obi-Wan regained his seriousness instantly.
-Anakin, did you see something wrong? -Obi-Wan asked, remembering the visions of the future he had had that had come true, even the Jedi Council now took him seriously for this. Anakin sighed and placed his hand on Ahsoka's shoulder again.
-Ahsoka, as my Padawan, it is necessary for you to know certain truths about me," Anakin stated. Ahsoka mentally prepared herself for tragic news. Obi-Wan, who knew Anakin better than anyone, looked at him strangely. -Ahsoka, your master is a lazy bum with no job who doesn't like responsibilities," Anakin explained. Obi-Wan rolled his eyes and Ahsoka was stunned. -So no matter what you've heard out there, don't have high expectations of me or you'll be sorely disappointed. I'm hard-headed to the extreme and the Council knows it. They even made Obi-Wan master just for getting me trained and becoming an acceptable Jedi knight," Anakin explained sincerely. Obi-Wan shook his head and also placed his hand on Ahsoka's shoulder.
-Young Padawan, just remember that there are worse fates," Obi-Wan consoled. -He always told me that," he added as he walked away with his shoulders slumped, as if remembering something traumatic. Anakin smiled at a frightened Ahsoka.
-Relax, there are many advantages to being my Padawan. I am very strong and the droids, who are the main army of the Separatists, have never been able to stand up to me. You will be safe by my side and they say that safety is the most important thing," Anakin said and removed his hand from Ahsoka's shoulder. -Now follow me, we have to finish this battle," Anakin ordered and left behind Obi-Wan to set up their battle plan.
…
-…Our enemies are only a few thousand strong and we have the advantage of range, a clear view and a clear shot. As soon as our troops regain space, we will have won," Anakin explained. Obi-Wan grimaced.
-A few thousand? Aren't we a few hundred? -Obi-Wan asked.
-Calm yourself, master. I'll take down the biggest ones," Anakin said, and as if the enemies had heard him, they began their march toward them.
The troops hastened to form up and their artillery guns, which were their advantage here, began to fire. Anakin marched to the front, next to Ahsoka, who was nervous about her introduction as a Padawan.
…
-Ahsoka, I'll take down the big guys. You take care of the small fries that come near us," Anakin explained.
Ahsoka blinked watching the enemy ranks of thousands of droids advance in formation with tanks and spider cannons between them. Their reinforcements were hundreds of meters behind them, and from what she could see, her master was about to throw himself into their midst. She was going to protest, but Anakin grabbed her by the waist and jumped into the middle of the avenue. Ahsoka kicked in the air and as she fell she closed her eyes with a sigh, expecting her death as she was shot by the army. However, a second later she was still alive and unharmed, as the tank they had fallen in front of blew apart, obliterating the nearby troops.
Ahsoka opened her eyes to see dozens of droids firing at them, but the shots did not reach them because spheres floated around them forming shields, three around Ahsoka and five around Anakin. These spheres were ten centimeters in diameter and floated around them. In addition, there were four spheres in front that were twenty centimeters in diameter and had shot the tank, blowing it to pieces.
-Ahsoka, those shields are not unlimited. If you don't start sweeping those little droids, you'll end up burned all over," Anakin warned, controlling the large spheres and concentrating his will and strength on them to target a mobile cannon advancing on a giant tripod platform.
The spheres fired lightsaber-like energy, and two legs were easily severed, causing the cannon to fall and explode, while their shields protected them from the fragments. Ahsoka, who had already reacted, slashed droids employing Shien-style leaps and blunt saber strikes, screaming with excitement. Anakin smiled, knowing they were very compatible, but he shook his head hard in his mind, he couldn't lose his mind in the midst of battle.
…
-Master, that's incredible! It's like an extension of your own body. I thought the spheres were droids. How can you keep your focus on the battle and control these spheres at the same time? How come you don't exhaust yourself by deploying shields for so long? Why is the firepower of the four largest spheres so overwhelming? How come they can cut through a Tank like butter? How could you disarm that droid battalion?" asked Ahsoka nonstop as they returned to their camp after the droid army turned back due to the disaster they had caused in the middle of their ranks.
The droids barely engaged the clones, and their losses had been massive, so they had to retreat. Anakin smiled, and Obi-Wan put his hand to his face helplessly.
-This may have been a bad idea," Obi-Wan said.
-Ahsoka, I possess a great deal of strength. I am the most gifted Jedi in this aspect of the entire Order, so I use it to my advantage with the shields, which are really just the repulsive force, not actual shields. As for firepower, it's a kiber cannon I designed myself to take advantage of the kiber crystals the Sith donated to me this year. They are more cooperative and less squeamish than the Council, who decreed that anyone who gave me access to the kiber crystals would be severely punished," Anakin explained.
"But the Sith are good people. They have given me four, so I can use the Death Stars, and in the future they may give me more gifts, and I will make you your own Death Spheres. Although the Council has forbidden their use, unless it is a critical situation, so we will have to throw ourselves into the middle of the battle for you to try them out," Anakin continued. Obi-Wan grimaced.
-If the Council doesn't agree, why do they allow it? -Ahsoka asked in confusion, for the Council was absolute to her, and the Jedi did as they said.
-Ahsoka, your master has political influence. There are few things the Council can forbid me to do in the war, for officially we are the army of the Republic, and this war is run by the Senate. Therefore, if you get the support of the right people, the high and mighty Jedi Council can only threaten not to make you master and veto any chance of you holding a seat on the Council. And since I would rather pull my teeth out with my bare hands than be a member of the Council, you could say they have nothing to pressure me with.
-As for you, if they ask you anything, you are my Padawan and you only obey orders," Anakin explained. Ahsoka glared at him while Obi-Wan continued to grimace.
-Rex, report," Anakin ordered, returning to the business of war.
…
A couple of hours later, the enemy deployed troops again, this time using a shield.
-This will be endless," said Ahsoka.
-That is obvious. They're just scrap metal, their generals don't care if they're destroyed," said Anakin. Obi-Wan sighed.
-Go get their general, I'll guard this position," Obi-Wan said dejectedly, finally giving in to his plan.
-Consider him captured," Anakin said and looked at Ahsoka. -Ahsoka, your master will now teach you how to attack a battalion of tanks and come out unscathed," said Anakin.
…
Two hours later, a quarter of the enemy tank battalion protecting their general was destroyed, mostly by friendly fire, and their general captured after the tank he was sheltering in was split in two by a shot from their death spheres.
Upon capturing the enemy general, he disabled his army and the city was liberated. They lost a couple of men in the entire battle, thanks to Anakin making a fuss in the middle of their ranks so that they never got to face his troops cornered at the end of the avenue where they were deployed.
-Ahsoka, it is time to train so that you can help your master in obtaining gifts from the Sith. And keep in mind that I am a demanding master," said Anakin. Ahsoka nodded enthusiastically, even though they had just come out of a battle.
Anakin led her to an empty storeroom and pointed to his backpack behind him, which opened and released eight small spheres. It then fragmented and formed the four death stars. Anakin sent three spheres toward Ahsoka, sat on her legs and gestured for her to sit down across from him. She sat down.
-Ahsoka, your technique with the saber is not bad, and considering your age, you even surpass many Padawans," Anakin praised. Ahsoka puffed out his chest and was filled with pride. -But saber skill is not everything to a Jedi, and I see that you understand this as well, for your control is on par with your skill. As your master, I can only advise you to keep practicing in these two aspects and you will undoubtedly progress.
- "Still, I can do more to keep you safe in this war, and that I will do, by teaching you to control these spheres, which although you have only seen me use them to defend, they can actually also be used to attack.
"The other skill I plan to teach you will help you with your control technique for the spheres and is the one I used to disarm the droids and their weapons. But this skill, while useful, requires great perseverance and pinpoint control of the Force, so you won't be able to use it anytime soon. Still, it will improve your control and, above all, the perception of your surroundings and your own body," said Anakin, and Ahsoka blinked.
-My body? -Ahsoka asked without understanding. Anakin nodded with a sigh.
-Yes, there is a part of your body that you don't consider yours, so when your emotions get upset, you lose control over it disproportionately. Do you know what I'm talking about? -asked Anakin. Ahsoka's eyes opened wide, and he could feel her shock.
-You are that boy…" Ahsoka shook her head and looked him up and down.
Anakin forcibly discarded all his emotions and thoughts, becoming a stone statue to Ahsoka's senses. He knew what she was talking about, but refused to think about it.
-Master, please forgive me, I'm imagining things and I mistook you for someone else," said Ahsoka, who tried to use the link he once created himself to sense him, but Anakin blocked it completely. This girl was also rude, like a child, he was an old man.
-Ahsoka, you lose your concentration too easily, but I see you already know something about it, so our job will be easier – said Anakin, and Ahsoka nodded.
-Ahsoka, the number of Jedi who do not accept the Force as part of themselves is alarming, and those who lose focus on the Force at the slightest hint of danger is worrisome. Sometimes all it takes is to point a blaster at a Jedi and he immediately forgets about the Force and turns to his lightsaber, forgetting that he can just grab the blaster with nothing to oppose him," Anakin explained. Ahsoka thought for a second and then nodded in agreement.
Anakin had avoided mentioning the bunch of idiots who died at Grievous' hands in the last year, throwing themselves into an onslaught against a cyborg with superhuman reflexes and, in a panic, being instantly dismembered, when any Jedi would be able to send Grievous flying through the air without any effort, snatch his lightsabers and any weapon he could use. But being frightened, they would convince themselves that their sabers were the best option, when in reality it was an external tool, while the Force had always been a part of them.
Even the masters fell into this failure of logic, because in Xion's memories, the same Obi-Wan who was pushing piles of droids around with the Force at every turn, turning them into scrap metal, in Xion's memories confronted Grievous with his lightsaber, putting on a pitiful show, and in the end, had to use a blaster. Anakin could only be embarrassed to see his master do such a thing.
-"Ahsoka, the best way for you not to forget that the Force is part of you by losing your cool is to face the danger, and for that, it would be advisable for you to face about thirty clone troopers until you can dodge and stop all their shots.
"Of course, I am your master and I would never be so cruel as to send my newly arrived padawan to train like that," said Anakin. Ahsoka opened her eyes wide and breathed a sigh of relief. Anakin smiled.
-Ahsoka, first I will teach you the method I have developed so that you can control these spheres in the same way I do, without exhausting yourself mentally by constantly using the Force," explained Anakin, moving one of the spheres with his mind. -First, this is the easiest way to move the spheres, and it's how I do it in emergency situations, when the scenario suddenly changes or I need to cover an area that is not programmed. This method is very easy, but exhausting. You just push with the Force, which to someone with your level of strength and control over it, will leave you for the crawl in a few minutes.
"The other way to do it is this," said Anakin, and all the spheres began to slowly spin around him. -Can you see what I'm doing? -Anakin asked calmly. Ahsoka frowned, but when she was about to answer, she noticed something strange and refrained from speaking. Anakin waited calmly. It was a pleasure to watch… Anakin dismissed those feelings out of hand.
-Master, you are not controlling these spheres," said Ahsoka after ten minutes of focusing her concentration to the maximum, but she still looked incredulous.
-Yes, if you exert your influence over the Force, it will maintain control for you as long as you leave instructions. But every time you change these instructions, you will deplete your mental strength, so the effectiveness of these spheres depends on the experience and senses of the Jedi using them," Anakin explained, and Ahsoka looked at him incredulously.
-Master, if this is true, those shields…" Ahsoka was stunned.
-That's right, the shields that protected us can't be active forever. The spheres are only extensions; the one who activates the shields focused on a specific area is me. As for how the spheres change position to intercept the shots -Anakin raised his hand and gave a small touch to one of the spheres with his finger. The sphere was pushed and then moved as normal. -In battle, that little touch must be done by you," Anakin explained, and Ahsoka nodded solemnly, realizing that this was far from easy and would be a very difficult skill to use.
-For the second skill, there's no need to explain now, you just have to train," said Anakin, raising his hand and bringing twenty small fragments of debris, turning them into dust and then into hundreds of small spheres of no more than a millimeter in diameter.
-From now on, you will hold these little things around you at all times, and your job will be to keep them from colliding. You also have the task of playing with them and moving them according to the first explanation. When you have gotten used to it, you will be ready to undergo the training of your will against the soldiers' weapons," Anakin ordered. Ahsoka opened her eyes wide again.
-Master, the Jedi Council…" Ahsoka began to say, but Anakin raised an eyebrow.
-I'll tell them it was your orders," Ahsoka said regretfully.
-Excellent. As soon as we get gifts from the Sith, I will create Death Stars for you. They are very useful in emergency situations," Anakin explained.
-Master, aren't the Sith crystals contaminated? -Ahsoka asked.
-They are, but I can purify them in a short time. However, if this information reaches the Council and I am asked to cleanse Sith artifacts, I will cut out your tongue. Our official answer for these crystals is that they are not contaminated," Anakin explained. Ahsoka blinked.
…
In the night, they received the call from the Council. They received it in the command center, where Obi-Wan, Ahsoka and he were. They looked at the hologram of Master Yoda and Windu, who stared at Ahsoka who was training with hundreds of small spheres. Windu frowned, but said nothing, as the training of the Padawans was his master's business. While he could reprimand Anakin, Anakin would simply ignore them, so there was no point in their complaining.
-Master Kenobi, Knight Skywalker….
The Masters informed them that the fleet had retaken control of the airspace with ease, as the Separatists were still waiting for a sneak attack and their shields were worn down. Now, the planet was theirs. But the war was not over and the Supreme Chancellor had another mission for him and the 501st he commanded.
The mission was a rescue mission, as the son of a Hutt had been kidnapped and the Republic wanted to use this to gain free passage through Hutt territories. Of course, Palpatine himself was the kidnapper, and whether the Republic or the rebels gained control of the Hutt routes, he would win.
If at the end of the war the rebels won, Palpatine would win. And if the Republic won, Palpatine would also win. It was a war whose purpose was for Palpatine to take power. Anakin would see to it that he made the old miser pay when he got his hands on him, but he could not do this until the war was over.
…
Anakin and his battalion set out for the place where Palpatine's spies said the baby Hutt was, a peak in the middle of a forest where an old monastery stood. Anakin assumed that Asajj Ventress was there…
The force confirmed Ventress' presence, and Anakin could already sense exactly where he was.
-Rex, it's a trap, the baby is in Dooku's hands," Anakin reported as they were arriving with some climbing tanks to invade the supposed pirate nest.
-Sir, who sent us that information? -asked Rex, who was monitoring communications, but saw nothing.
-I'm not sure," said Rex, "Allied spies, the information is reliable, so you'll stay in command, while me and my Padawan infiltrate, capture the baby, and get the hell out. Then you simply retire," Anakin explained.
-Sir, how is it going…" The spheres unfolded and Anakin took Ahsoka by the waist.
…
Ahsoka blinked as her master grabbed her waist and literally flew up the mountain. Ahsoka could only blink. Jedi could not fly, at least not by themselves. If another Jedi launched them, it was different, but flying by themselves was impossible. A prop was needed while using the Force. But there she was, held by the waist, as the most powerful Jedi she had ever known in her entire existence flew to the top and also concealed his presence and hers, passing by the droids without them noticing him. His infiltration skills were absurd.
…
Five minutes later they reached the top of the peak, but their master did not stop there, but went to the roof, opened a hole with his saber and they both entered.
-There is a Sith apprentice in this place. Seek him out and capture him, I will go to secure our objective," said his master and disappeared from his side, blurring into the shadows. Ahsoka blinked.
-What? -Ahsoka whispered in disbelief. "Her, searching for and capturing a Sith apprentice when he had only been a Padawan for a few days?"
Ahsoka shivered slightly. Her master seemed to be as mad as the rumors said… or he was so powerful that to him, capturing a Sith apprentice was nothing, Ahsoka thought bitterly. But there was nothing to be done, the order had been given, and she was in the wolf's lair.
Ahsoka scrambled for a sphere in her backpack. These spheres were technology developed by her master and were an extension for the Jedi who used them. If her control over the Force was good, the things that could be done were incredible. Unfortunately, Ahsoka could only half control one without it affecting her concentration with the saber. Ahsoka had already tested it on her master.
The sphere floated around her in a predefined orbit, and Ahsoka took a deep breath. She released her emotions to the Force, thereby calming herself and attuning her senses to her surroundings. She wasn't going to stand idly by with a Sith apprentice around.
Ahsoka walked through the dark corridors, lessening her presence in the Force as she honed her senses. She advanced through the dark floor. She was at the top of the temple, the Sith apprentice should be hiding on the first or second floor, so she had time….
-"Master, the Jedi have arrived, but they seem to have suffered some damage," said a serpentine voice that even carried hisses. Ahsoka could only blink at her misfortune.
-Fool! -He should have been there by now. Get the baby out. We won't accomplish anything if we don't even know when he was taken," ordered the deep voice.
-Yes, master," said the hissing voice.
Ahsoka could only sigh with resignation and move forward to meet her enemy, who, when she revealed her presence, hurried to stand on guard and draw his lightsaber, so Ahsoka could finally see his face. It was pale as a corpse and also had a certain snake-like air about it, which was illuminated by the red, tainted light of a lightsaber.
-Ah, a little mouse approaches my lair," said the Sith apprentice.
-I am Ahsoka Tano, and my master Skywalker has ordered me to capture you. So, if you surrender now, there will be no need for violence," Ahsoka reported.
-Skywalker, I will kill you! -snarled the Sith apprentice with a hiss of pure fury.
Ahsoka could only attack her as well, but barely a minute after engaging in combat, she knew there was no way she could capture this Sith apprentice, as they were evenly matched….
They were not evenly matched, she was better with the lightsaber, but Ahsoka was using the defense sphere and that made them even, as she needed less defensive moves that she could invest in attack, equalizing the combat.
-Jedi scum, fight honorably," the Sith apprentice chided, reproaching her for the use of the defensive sphere.
Ahsoka ignored his nonsense, as the apprentice had two sabers and she had only one, and she wasn't complaining. He was also older than her and she could tell he had more experience.
-"Jedi scum, if you will," she hissed as several droids advanced from behind her.
Ahsoka knew she was in trouble and took a more defensive stance, as she was also good at Form III, the problem was she wouldn't get out of it by defending herself, and with the supporting fire from the droids, combined with the saber attacks from the Sith apprentice, Ahsoka was in real trouble, as the blaster fire deflections weren't taking down enough droids and she was having to invest more and more force into the sphere shields, and keep falling back….
The Sith apprentice did not continue attacking, and the droids stopped firing. A second later, Ahsoka felt footsteps behind her, and her heart calmed, as she knew those footsteps. Strong, as if she were a giant, and sure, like an immovable army.
-Intimidating my apprentice with numbers, Ventress? -asked her master, coming up behind her and putting his hand on her shoulder to pull her to him in a protective gesture.
Ahsoka had to agree that she would have been angry if any other Jedi did that, as she didn't think she needed anyone's protection, she was content with his support, but….
Actually, this Jedi at her back… He didn't need any support, he was too powerful, it was absurd to think that he could be her partner in battle, Ahsoka thought dejectedly.
-Skywalker! -hissed Ventress. Ahsoka could feel the fear in her.
-Ventress, it's good to see you, I was just telling my Padawan that when I received more gifts from you, I would make him something special, so I'm happy to see you," she said sincerely. He did not hide his joy at seeing Ventress, but Ventress extinguished her sabers and brought them behind her back in a protective gesture.
-Skywalker! I'll kill you one of these days," Ventress said and ran off, using the droids as cover.
-Master, he wasn't really gone," Ahsoka said with some relief, looking up to see her master giving her a confused look.
-Ahsoka, I must chase after your gifts. Take care of our target while I return," he said and shot off cutting in half all the droids on the road who fired back, but it was useless against their master's onslaught.
Ahsoka didn't understand what he meant until she turned around and saw a baby Hutt crawling on the ground. "He really let me face a Sith apprentice alone, he wasn't looking out for me," Ahsoka thought in a daze as she saw the baby Hutt being rescued by her master.
Ahsoka could only pick up the baby Hutt. She didn't know what to think anymore. She felt she could not understand her master. He seemed kind, but he was capable of threatening to cut out her tongue and had also left her in a very dangerous situation without a second's hesitation. On the other hand, when they were together, he seemed protective, but suddenly he would just walk away.
It was as if even he didn't know what he was doing with her… Ahsoka thought that was absurd and decided to stop thinking nonsense.
…
Her master returned ten minutes later with a big smile, holding two crystals in his right hand. Ahsoka guessed that he had assaulted Ventress. Her master approached and held out the crystals, which had already been purified and emanated a strange familiar feeling. Ahsoka frowned taking a closer look at them…
Her master hurried to remove the crystals and his smile disappeared as if by magic, he was again… not cold, but serene and distant. Besides, Ahsoka would swear she saw him wince when she tried to examine the crystals.
Ahsoka had to admit she was starting to get scared.
-Ahsoka, I will hand them over to you when the Death Stars are finished," her master said. Now we have a mission to accomplish. Follow me, there is a ship on a nearby peak," said his master and ran towards where they came from. Ahsoka ran after him to the hole where they first entered. Her master jumped out and she jumped in behind him. Then they ran into a gorge where her master grabbed her backpack and jumped to fly to another place nearby.
"I'm going to die," Ahsoka concluded with absolute certainty. Her master was a guy with two personalities. The two personalities were equally kind and used the same tone of voice to talk to her, but their way of acting towards her was completely different.
As an example there was that protective personality who took her by the waist to go up to the monastery. Ahsoka had to admit that she felt embarrassed, but she also had to admit that it was very safe. Then when she arrived, her master turned away from her and the protective personality was gone. He sent her to face a Sith apprentice without a second's hesitation.
Then the protective personality returned, and without a care in the world, almost lulled her into his arms. Then he went to get her gifts and returned with a sincere smile. A second later, that smile was gone and she was being dragged away by her backpack.
Conclusion, her teacher was treating her in two completely opposite ways. And Ahsoka was sure that this guy dragging her now didn't care at all and one day he would send her to fight alone against a Sith lord and get his head chopped off, because he didn't care about her safety. Before, taking her by the waist was embarrassing, but it was very safe, and there was a world of difference in carrying her from her pack, which could break and throw her to almost certain death.
Ahsoka gulped as they arrived at where the ship his master mentioned was and a somewhat frightened droid came out to greet them. He didn't even look at the droid, he just swiped his saber and cut off her head casually, like someone cutting a rock, like the guy who grabbed her by the neck….
Her master turned to look at her with a frown.
-Ahsoka, I sense anxiety. What's wrong? -asked her master.
-Master, have I offended you? I feel your treatment of me change to something… thoughtless. You are kind, but it is the kindness of one who deals with a rock," said Ahsoka apprehensively. Her master turned pale, though his emotions were still serene, or perhaps she could not perceive them. Still, he was already… "dismissing everything about me," Ahsoka understood incredulously.
-Master, if I have done something wrong, I apologize. Please don't get rid of your feelings for me," said Ahsoka, before processing what he was saying. But it was too late because her master froze, and she froze too.
Ten eternal seconds later, her master offered her a sad smile.
-I guess that goes without saying. Ahsoka, I'm sorry. Actually, I knew you before I saw you that day," she said with a sigh. Come, we can't stay here. I'll tell you about this on the way," he said and walked towards the old ship with his shoulders lowered as if he felt tired… or defeated. Still, Ahsoka didn't miss that his metallic backpack fell apart into four spheres that flew and became part of the ship's hull.
The smaller spheres became part of her clothing, sticking together like patches. None of this was technology, it was all done with the Force, and Ahsoka felt it, but she couldn't understand anything.
Ahsoka shook her head and hurried after him. The ship was a piece of junk that could barely walk, but her master had it up and running in less than five minutes, despite leaving the astromech droid behind, and they soon left the planet to set course for Tatooine. After confirming everything on the ship, her master sighed and looked at her side.
-Master, did you have visions about me? Is that why you didn't want an apprentice? Will I do something wrong? -Ahsoka asked apprehensively.
-No!" his master scolded. You have done nothing wrong, you are perfect," he said with a sigh of regret. Ahsoka, as I told you before, I already knew you, and yes, that's why I didn't want padawans, because I knew you would be assigned to me, but that's not right because…" her master leaned back in his seat and sighed.
-Ah, I can't say this! -he said with obvious frustration. I'm a terrible teacher," he complained.
-No, you are a great teacher. In a few days at your side, my skill has already matched that of a highly experienced Sith apprentice," Ahsoka said. He was a little crazy, but he was an amazing master. Master, I understand. You don't have to say anything," said Ahsoka. Her master sat back down to look at her with a frown.
-What do you understand? -asked her master.
-She has feelings of friendship and trust towards me, one might even say attachment, and she feels that if she expresses them it will not be appropriate," said Ahsoka. Her master looked surprised, and Ahsoka felt pleased with herself, because that meant her insight was outstanding. Ahsoka nodded.
-Master, it is true that it is a strange thing, and I have felt somewhat embarrassed before because you have made too close gestures towards me, but it was not inappropriate in any way, and now that I understand it, I can understand it. I am honored that you feel this great friendship towards me," Ahsoka said sincerely.
Her master offered her a sincere smile, the same smile he offered when he showed her the crystals he had stolen for her. He lifted her hand and caressed her face to sigh.
-You are so real now. In my memories… It's not real. I'm sorry, don't be afraid to hit me if I act weird and scare you, I'll do my best not to burden you by confusing a dream with the real world," he said with a sadness that penetrated Ahsoka's heart, and she could feel his pain, but not understand it, because that was impossible to do since she had not had this vision. Her master pulled his hand away, and she felt safe again, but she was not at ease.
