All the songs for you~
Chapter 4-
Tyson stood there, dazed and confused, still trying to figure out what has caused such a change in Hilary's attitude.
'What the heck just happened? Why did she snap at me? Was I that bad?' He scratched his head and sighed. 'Maybe I should have listened to Ray.' Then suddenly he caught glimpse of her.
Is that...
There, right before his eyes, the real Hilary strode out of the lab, and soon came out with two bags. One, he assumed to be hers; second, he had no idea about it.
HOW THE HELL SHE CHANGED HER ATTIRE IN TWO MINUTES?!
Hilary was wearing a peach coloured, full sleeved shirt and black formal jeans. Her hair was tied in a cute bun, as a few strands dangled over her face. It was the same outfit she wore earlier. But there was a flower band on her wrist.
"Hilary?" He finally found his voice. Hilary blushed and nervously turned towards him.
"Didn't you just get out of campus?"
Hilary gave him a confused look. "No, I just got here to take mine and my si-"
"And how did you change your outfit in a minute?" He continued to interrogate, without bothering to hear her out. "And why did you scream at me when I was trying to talk to you?" He narrowed his eyes. Now Hilary knew who the real culprit was.
"Tyson Sir, please listen to me. It wasn't me. It was my twin, Hikari." She tried to explain. Tyson's eyes widened.
"Twin?"
"Yeah, Hikari. She was wearing a red short sleeved crop hoodie and black shorts. She's not exactly the polite one."
.
.
.
"So, you mean to say she was the one who screamed my ears off?" Tyson asked after some more explaining by Hilary. They were strolling side by side, not having the intention to get out of the campus. On top of it, Tyson purposely walked slower than usual to make this walk and talk longer.
"Yeah, I'm sorry for my sister, she's a bit arrogant." She embarrassingly shrugged.
"Nah, don't sweat it. But what's with the arrogance anyway?"
"Well, we come from a rich household, and those who know this, respect us. Hikari's just not used to being on the lower side, that's all."
"So that's why you could afford that seat in canteen for us." He stated, smirking. Hilary nodded. She could recall how passionately he dedicated that song to her. Even if he didn't mention it straightway to whom it was dedicated. The thought perked her internally.
They continued to talk, as Hilary began opening up herself more. Tyson would just say 'yeah', 'ahan' and nodded from time to time, as Hilary enacted how Hikari was a total arrogant tomboy, a few she added on her own as Tyson assumed. Hilary was in her own little world talking her heart out, for once not fearing that it was her senior she was talking to. Tyson inwardly chuckled, noting how cute and innocent she looked. Suddenly his phone beeped.
He checked the message. It read that haemoglobin levels would be examined for all peers in college tomorrow afternoon. Hilary's phone also beeped.
"You got the news?" Tyson asked.
"Yeah, haemoglobin levels check, wow." She gave a grim response.
Tyson raised an eyebrow. "Nervous?"
"Maybe, it's always that I'm the less healthy child. Every time I pass it, but this time I have a feeling that it's not gonna go well." She sighed. Tyson decided to change the topic.
"Hey, I was wondering if you could call your sister, I would like to see you both together, because I still feel a little dazed." Hilary blinked at the man, before chuckling and nodded.
"I'll call her now, excuse me." She walked to the other side of the hallway to make the call. Tyson stood there smiling in his own chic.
Meanwhile with Hilary,
"C'mon Hiky! You have to come!"
"No way I'm going back to that badmouth bustard!" Hikari spat on the other side of the phone.
"Please Hikari, besides, what did he say anyway?"
"He's trying to interfere in your love life! What was I supposed to do?"
"HE is my love life! And he is our senior, you shouldn't have talked to him like that, you almost got me a wrong impression! Now please come, it'll take only a minute. Please?"
"No!"
"C'mon, for me?" Hikari finally gave in.
"Fine." She grumbled.
"Aww! Thanks Hiky! Let God bless your relationship with Kai!"
"Wish for yourself, you'll need it." She said softly, and then disconnected the call. Hilary walked back towards Tyson.
.
.
.
Tyson shifted his gaze from the grumpy brunette, to the sweeter one, repeating the same for a couple of times. He coughed and cleared his throat. This one look had finally and clearly made him notice her better and he distinctly could differentiate her girl from Kai's. Apparently.
"Okay, I get it now," He grinned at Hilary. "You can leave now Hikari." Tyson snidely ordered.
"What?!" Hikari snapped again. "You called me all the way back to the hallway, only to look at me a few times?!"
"Well, you were the one who wanted a quick meeting, but I wanted to invite you for tea," Tyson said in the same high pitched voice, rolling his auburn orbs. "Now leave."
"Ugh!" Hikari glared at Hilary. "You ruined my day Hilary Tachibana, you'll regret it!" With that, she stomped off.
"Hikari! Wait!" Hilary called out, who was about to leave, but a strong grip on her wrist stopped her.
She looked back to find Tyson deeply staring at her. She blushed and nervously looked down at her feet.
He slowly walked towards her, standing DANGEROUSLY close to her.
"Nice bracelet." He rubbed the soft flower bracelet on her wrist, again locking his eyes with hers.
"O-Oh that? One of my friends made it." She stuttered.
"Has she made more?"
"Huh?" Her eyes widened.
"Why do your eyes become big when I'm talking to you?" He smiled. Hilary's eyes widened even more.
"Again? Stop doing that!" He commanded gruffly. Hilary flinched and closed her eyes, then reopening them, this time softly looking at him.
"Good," He regained his posture. "I asked has that friend of yours made more of these ornaments?"
"Yeah, there are a few necklaces and earrings..." Her mind wondered what his intentions were this time.
"Wear them," He stated flippantly, "I would like to see how you look in them."
Now, Hilary thought her face was going to explode as blood rushed on her cheeks. She didn't trust her tongue, but even then she blurted out,
"Oh, okay then." 'I. Am. So. Dead.' She thought as she took her bag and took out the ornaments. Tyson just calmly gazed her as she put on the flower earrings.
After she was done, she shyly turned towards him, not daring to look at him. But Tyson didn't respond. Not getting any reply, she raised her head, only to find a slight flustered Tyson staring at her in awe.
"Um, Sir?"
Tyson snapped out of his daze and blushed, and again regained his posture. He coughed, getting rid of the blush.
"Yeah, just one thing..." He slowly started walking towards her. Hilary stumbled and clumsily leaned against the wall. Tyson pinned her to the corridor by resting his arms on the wall beside her.
He slowly reached for her hairband and carefully untied her hair, her bangs splaying half on her eyes smoothly.
"I would like to check you," He said out of the blue, pushing her chocolate locks behind her ears. Hilary's eyes, widened again. Tyson rolled his eyes.
"If you're anaemic."
Hilary inwardly sighed in relief.
He put his thumb under her eyes and examined her.
After sometime, he whispered breathlessly, "You sure are. You should be more like your sister and eat healthy, no need to be slim, you are pretty already," He smirked at her reaction. "But you're gonna be checked tomorrow by the Interns, so let's leave it to them." Hilary nodded every now and then.
"And," Tyson neared his face to her ear, his warm breath tickling the side of her neck.
"Maybe I like you too, to some extend. Maybe." Hilary thought his lips were gonna brush against her skin, but he carefully withdrew and walked away towards the exit, leaving a heavily flustered Hilary and a heart that was beating at light's speed.
From the talk we had today, I'm sure you're more than you look. Tyson chuckled as he continued to walk. And definitely you don't have just a crush on me, it's more to it. And if it's destined, we'll end up together. But I'm determined to make you confess, and make you mine. He sighed dreamily and then froze.
"SINCE WHEN DID I START BELIEVING IN DESTINY?!" He exclaimed, grabbing his hair and hitting himself a few times.
"All this fussy stuff is getting to me," He scratched his head. "Maybe I should take Max's advice and visit a psychiatrist."
Hilary rushed towards their car after rewinding the conversation she just had with her immediate senior, aka her crush, the member of Stereo Hearts, aka, Tyson Granger. She sat on the back seat as her sister was sitting in the passenger seat.
"Start the car." Hikari stated flatly.
"Yes, Mistress," came a robotic voice. The engine started and the car started rolling.
"Hiky, are you mad?" Hilary asked in the voice she uses to soften her sister. Hikari sighed.
"Done with your make out session with your Romeo?" She asked, more like stated, not bothering to look at her twin.
"WHAT?! HIKARI!" Hilary exclaimed, now worrying about her face getting permanently red.
"What? It's been ages since I left. That's more than enough to make a baby."
"STOP IT HIKARI!"
"Yeah yeah, just keep calling my name and-" She turned and found a loose-haired, florid faced Hilary, huffing.
"What has he done to you?" She asked, just then Hilary realized how she was currently looking. Hair that was untied.
"Oh well-"
"IT'S THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN!" Hikari shrieked, climbing to the backseat beside her sister, grasping Hilary's hands.
"It's been YEARS since I last saw you like this! Clad in flowers with your hair loose, you just lack a wedding dress though," Hilary blushed. "Ohhhhh how much I had wished to see you like this! Watching you walk down the aisle, holding dad's hand, towards your future husband, me being your bridesmaid, you throwing your bouquet, me catching it... Oh Tyson deserves a treat!" She hugged Hilary tightly. Talk about awkward.
"That means you're not upset anymore?" Hilary asked with hope. On hearing this, Hikari pulled away.
"No!" Hikari pouted. Hilary sweat dropped.
"C'mon sis, I'll try my best for it to not happen."
"Well, trying isn't enough." Hikari huffed.
'Spoiled Brat!' Hilary exclaimed in her mind, wanting to give Hikari an ear full, but she knew that won't be of any help.
"Hiky, please? I promise I would pay for your first date with Kai." Hikari's eyes widened.
"WHAT?!" Now it was Hikari who had become the reddest beetroot in existence.
"Woh! I just said 'date', not marriage. Why are you stressing?" Hilary wiggled her eyebrows.
"Fine. You won." Hilary gave her the famous 'puppy eyes'. "And I forgive you." Hilary hugged her sister, Hikari couldn't help but giggle.
"Stop! We aren't kids anymore!" Twins, different yet alike.
"So how it went?" Hikari asked after both of them calmed down.
"I, I don't know..." Hilary sighed.
"Why? It seems you had fun." Hikari nudged her twin, talking about the flower ornaments. Hilary softly smiled, coyly biting her lips.
"Well, I could, if he would just stop playing around."
"What do you mean?"
"It's just that, Tyson doesn't realize that how much I exactly like him. It's like, he thinks this is a game and he's the player. Sure, it might be that it's his way, but still. I don't think he's as serious as much I am." Hilary stared outside the window, as it was now pouring outside.
"Or maybe, we're overreacting? This is just the beginning after all." Hikari stated, remembering what Kai had said earlier.
"Hiky, I don't know why you're always against me! When I was confident in him, you were doubtful! Now when I'm doubtful, you're confident!"
"Woah there! Against is bit strong word you know! It's just wrong timing! Stop being such a drama queen!" Hikari sweat dropped.
"Well, who made you change your mind?" Hilary eyed her suspiciously. Hikari blushed.
"No one, just a wise snowman." Hikari thought Hilary won't be able to guess this one, as she is no near to such nicknames.
"Kai?" Hilary smirked mischievously, making Hikari jump like a startled cat.
"What the? How exactly did you-"
"I have been paying much attention to the things outside study nowadays," Hilary chuckled. "So how is it with him?"
"Nothing. He just decided to walk me to the car as he thought I was you. Maybe he wanted to serve his sister-in-law a bit. Just like a typical gentleman." Hikari flatly said, but you could see the slight hurt mixed with jealousy expression on her face. And Hilary was her twin after all.
"Oh, then was he cold to you after he found out that you're Hikari?" Hilary pacified.
"No."
"Then I have a feeling that he likes you too." Hilary grinned.
"How can you say that?" Hikari doubted.
"I have a feeling, not sure. But I will be sure if you tell what happened between you two." Hikari blushed on hearing this, making her sister smirk.
"Looks like the love birds have started making their nest," Hilary wiggled her eyebrows. Hikari stared at her wide-eyed, but then giggled.
"Sometimes you make me think that you have multiple personality disorder."
"You're no different sis." They both giggled.
"We've reached, the destination, Mistresses." The computer voice called.
"Okay then." Hilary got off the car.
Hilary stood in the rather cold shower as she thought about the conversation with Tyson and then Hikari. She only took cold showers when she would feel confused or stressed, it helped her to think properly.
Should I continue like this? Hilary thought. I know Tyson isn't the person he shows, maybe I should try getting closer? Hilary blushed at the thought. But how? Ugh! This is just the beginning and I'm already so confused. Frustrated, Hilary rubbed her hair. Tyson, please help me to hold on. Hilary sighed. Maybe I should take a break tomorrow. Hilary walked out of the shower.
"Hey Hil!" Hikari chirped as she walked in with a tray full off fresh macaroons.
"Hmm, smells great!" Hilary commented as she wore her loose full sleeved shirt and pants.
"Not before you make me pie!" Hikari pouted cutely.
"Don't worry, I didn't forget about that," Hilary walked towards her. "And, I was thinking to rest tomorrow, can I hand you the blood samples?" Hilary asked.
"Uh, yeah sure." Hikari shrugged and smiled. Hilary smiled and went into the kitchen.
'She still needs some time,' Hikari sighed. 'I hope you don't hurt yourself Hilary.'
At Night, Hiwatari Mansion...
The Hiwatari family sat around the dining table - Kai Hiwatari, Mr. Hiwatari, Mrs. Hiwatari, and Voltaire Hiwatari.
"A marriage proposal from France has arrived; I think it's a nice proposal." Voltaire spoke, breaking the silence.
Mr. Hiwatari just smiled at his father. Mrs. Hiwatari narrowed her eyes at her plate, loosing her appetite. And Kai, he calmly continued to eat.
"But father," Mrs Hiwatari protested. "Kai is still young, and he hasn't completed his medical studies-"
"He can do so even after being engaged," Voltaire cut in. "Besides no one had told him to study meds and follow his little 'crew'." Kai scrunched up his face on hearing this.
"I hope you agree with me this time, Kai." Voltaire looked at his grandson. Kai didn't reply.
"I'm asking something young man." Voltaire raised his voice.
"I'm done." Kai wiped his mouth with a handkerchief, stood from his seat, and turned to leave.
"You cannot leave without my permission Kai!" Voltaire stood as well, followed by Kai's parents.
"You don't have any right on me! I'm 22! I can leave if I wish!" Kai, for the first time, lost his cool.
"You should be lucky I granted your stupid demands! It's time you repay me, you ungrateful brat!"
"Fine then, I'll return all the money you spent on me, if that means to get out of this prison!" Everyone gasped.
"Kai, mind your tongue. Remember you're talking to-"
"To the CEO of Hiwatari Enterprises. And you too remember that you're talking to the ONLY hire of this company!" Kai backfired. This time Voltaire didn't reply, just continued to glare at his grandson.
Kai started his way towards his room, knowing that the argument was over.
He closed the door behind him and grabbed his nightwear, strolling into the bathroom. After a short shower, he dried his hair with a towel and thumped his back on his bed. He narrowed his eyes at the ceiling.
Besides no one had told him to study meds and follow his little 'crew'.
'Little crew, huh?' He calmly closed his eyes, trying his best to fall asleep but failing to get comfortable. He turned and felt something under his pillow. He pulled it out, and it happened to be a mouth organ.
Not an ordinary mouth organ though. It had a messily engraved phoenix on it, and a name was written in the bottom right corner, Dranzer.
Kai sat up and stared at the wooden plate on the little instrument. A small yet soft smile appeared on his face as was reminded of the gift.
A 13 years old Kai rummaged through his stuff as he desperately searched for something. He was currently at the Granger residence for sleep over, but now he had to leave as his grandfather and he was leaving for a 'meeting'.
"Where the hell is it?!" He muttered, frustrated.
"Yo Kai!" Tyson and the rest of team ran towards him with a big grin on their faces. Kai eyed them suspiciously.
"What do you want?" He asked, getting back to searching.
"We have a gift for you!" Max and Zeo replied in their hyper voice.
"No thank you." Kai spoke, completely ruining the mood. You can hear loud groans by the boys.
"Or maybe it will change your mind." Hiro spoke as he took the messily wrapped box from his brother and handed it to Kai. Kai looked at the black box wrapped with a red ribbon, with happy emoji stickers all over it.
'Nice packaging.' Kai thought sarcastically and undid the knots and opened the box. His eyes widened.
It was his lost mouth organ! But something was different. A small, red wooden plate was attached to it at its top. It had a phoenix engraved on it, and on the bottom right corner, it was written 'Dranzer'. But the question was, why?
"It now has a picture of a phoenix! We named it Dranzer!" Tyson beamed.
"Hey! That was my idea!" Kane reminded.
"And why did you do that?" Kai asked, confused.
"Well, we've noticed that you've become cold hearted since you have started spending time with your grandfather." Tala started.
"And we thought you needed a partner!" Max chirped.
"And since we can't go with you," Zeo spoke.
"We made you a friend to melt your heart!" Ray exclaimed with a grin.
"And what's better than a phoenix!" Kane winked.
"Remember to always follow your heart, captain!" Tyson gave Kai a two-fingers salute, calling him by his nickname.
Kai stared at his friends, then at the instrument. He hated to admit it, but he was touched. But of course he wasn't going to show his gratitude to his friends, never.
"Hn." That's all he said before pocketing the mouth organ, grabbing his bag, and heading for the door. The boys stayed at him, dumbfounded.
"He didn't even thank us..." Zeo pouted.
"Well that's our Kai alright!" Tyson spoke, slamming his hand with Zeo's back, startling him.
"Tyson!" Everyone's laughter could be heard.
"Remember to always follow your heart." Kai whispered Tyson's words to himself, before smirking and closing his eyes.
A flash from his phone drew Kai's attention. He picked up his phone and looked at the screen, and groaned.
'Again one of those midnight chats.' Kai grumbled. The message was from the Stereo Hearts whatsapp group. Nevertheless, he opened the chat.
'What's up Kai?' was the first message from Zeo to pop up on his screen.
Kai narrowed his eyes, and decided not to reply.
Max came online.
Max : Hey dude! We know you're still reading our text, reply!
Tala came online.
Tala : How can you even expect The Great Kai to reply to our text?
Zeo : Maybe... We needed him for this discussion.
Ray : Guys I'm trying to sleep.
Tala : Liar, you were online.
Kane came online.
Kane : Maybe he was talking to Mariah *mischievous emoji*
Ray : You guys are filthy!
Zeo : So you admit that you were talking to her.
Ray : ...
Zeo : *Grinning emoji*
Tala & Kane : *smirking emoji*
Max : *Laughs his head of emoji*
Ray : Guys, stop it. What's the discussion anyway?
Tyson came online.
Tyson : Yo guys! What's going on? What discussion?
Max : Oh Tys, you're just in time for the 'important' discussion.
Zeo : A discussion about Kai's future wedding.
Kai's eyes widened in horror. He blinked twice at the screen
Tyson : WEDDING?! WHEN?! HOW?! Fill me up guys!
Kane : Okay Tyson. Do you know that Hilary has a sister?
Tyson : Yeah, twin sister. Just found out today. Hikari right?
Ray : Yeah, and our Kai has feelings for her!
Max and Zeo : *confetti emojis*
An anime vein popped on Kai's head. He scowled. His fingers quickly jabbed on the screen clumsily.
Kai : WHAT HECK IS GOING ON HERE?!
Tala : It's time you showed up.
Kai : Shut Up Tala. And Ray, who said I had feelings for that girl? Don't pull me into your little 'pairing' stuff!
Tyson : Woah Kai, you type so fast!
Zeo : You started chatting with her already? Must be the practice.
Kai : Zeo, mind what you're saying. You know we're meeting in football practice tomorrow.
Tyson : Hey! You can't do that! And it's okay to like someone Kai, it isn't a bad thing. You can admit to us. No one will say anything.
Kai : I barely even know her! You guys are daring to pair me up with her just because I walked her out of the college premises?!
Tala : Not because of that, you were burning with anger when Max called her Hilary *smirking emoji*
Kai : You're the one talking, who was struggling to talk to Julia.
Tyson, Ray, Max, Kane, & Zeo : *Laughing out badly emoji*
Tala : She's our senior Kai. And those who are laughing right now, you guys aren't so brave, are you?
Ray : ...
Max : *blush emoji*
Kane : *glares emoji*
Zeo : I'm pure.
Max : Oh really? Then why were you staring at the lavender haired girl in the garden?
Zeo : M-Maxie?!
Tyson : You all are cowards.
Tala : You are no good Granger.
Tyson : At least I'm dropping hints.
Ray : *sweat drop emoji*
Tala : Seriously Tyson? You think it's funny?
Tyson : What? I'm trying to make it more interesting, so that our children won't be bored while hearing our story.
Kai's stared at the screen in shock. Speechless. Absolutely.
Max : *Mind blown emoji*
Zeo : *blushing like mad emoji*
Kane : *Laughing heads off emoji*
Ray : I can't feel my jaw...
Tala : *wide-eyed emoji*
Kai : Kids? Tyson, for the first time in my life, I don't know what to say.
Max : Um guys, I think I'm sleepy.
Max went offline.
Zeo : Me too.
Zeo went offline
Kane : Me three.
Kane went offline.
Ray : Night Night.
Ray went offline.
Tala went offline.
Tyson : I can't believe these guys got tired so early...
Tyson went offline.
