Chapter:

"I can't believe that you actually had a Kryptonian dog. I always thought you were more of a cat person." Alex said to her sister back at the Tower as they watched J'onn and Brainy run tests on Krypto, who was sitting very still and letting them run their tests on him, a big doggy smile on his face, which Kara returned with a smile of her own.

"Actually, the reason I was so taken by Streaky was because we didn't have cats on Krypton. But no, I love dogs even more than I do cats." Kara said and Alex nodded.

"Oh, by the way, how did things go with your talk with Lena?" Alex asked her with a smirk.

"We're going out tomorrow night and I'm telling Kelly at least one of the stories you forbade me from telling her since you meddled in my love life." Kara said.

"Price worth paying to see you and Lena finally out of your denial, since we could all see the hearts flying around you two." Alex said and Kara smiled.

"Fair enough. But still, you know that you're dogsitting for Krypto while I'm on my date tomorrow night right?" Kara asked.

"Of course. And honestly, this is the happiest I've ever seen you." Alex said and Kara smiled.

"Well, I've got a job I love, I'm a hero as Supergirl, I'm going out on a date with one of the hottest women in the city and I have my beloved childhood pet back. What more could I ask for. I mean besides getting Aunt Astra away from Non's influence and finding Argo." Kara said and Alex smiled.

"I guess you are almost the girl who has everything she's ever wanted." Alex said.

"And so are you. Speaking of which, you really need to put a ring on Kelly already." Kara said.

"You know what my plan is for that." Alex said.

"I know. I'm just curious if you really want to wait that long." Kara said.

"They say good things come to those who wait." Alex said and Kara nodded.

"So, I'm guessing that if Lena isn't a dog person, that's a dealbreaker?" Alex asked her.

"No. But I'm not choosing between her and Krypto." Kara said, right as she heard Brainy say he was about to put Krypto under the yellow sunlamps.

"Are you sure that's safe?" Kara asked, wanting to make sure that wouldn't do anything to hurt her beloved puppy.

"Don't worry Kara. We've run every test we can think of on Krypto and he's shown no negative effects from his trip through space. His biology will react to yellow sun energy the same way yours does." Brainy assured Kara, knowing that if they did anything to hurt Krypto, Kara would make them all pay.

"Okay. Charge him up." Kara said, honestly a little excited about the prospect of having a superdog by her side.

"You heard her. Let's make a Superdog." J'onn said and Brainy nodded as he activated the yellow sunlamps and Kara had to be quick to reassure the dog that everything would be okay, since she could tell that her dog was nervous about the new feeling of getting powers, something she knew all too well.

"It's okay Krypto. They're just making you feel better." Kara said as she walked up to the dog and began rubbing his head to keep him calm while also humming an old kryptonian song she'd used to sing to Krypto back when she first got him, since that always calmed him down and once again, it did the trick, right as Krypto's eyes glowed blue and he suddenly let out a burst of heat vision.

"Wow, it didn't take him as much time to start developing powers as you did." Alex said to Kara.

"Well to be fair, Krypto is smaller and lighter than I am, plus he's been absorbing yellow sun energy since his pod entered this star system." Kara reminded her.

"Fair point." Alex said with a smile as she watched Kara's attention be drawn to the barking of her dog, who was apparently freaking out over what he'd just done.

"I think someone is going to need some training." Alex said with a smile.

"Yeah, not sure how I'm going to pull that off, since while Krypto is smarter than any other dogs, training him will still be difficult, since training him will be different than training other dogs." Kara said.

"Then it is fortunate that you are such that you are friends with a 12th level intellect who developed a temporary solution to this problem." Brainy said as he produced a collar.

"A dog collar?" Kara asked.

"A collar designed to generate low level red sun energy, just enough to keep him depowered until you you can teach him how to use his powers, something that I believe he will be very grateful for, especially at night, since I can't imagine that Kryptonian super hearing will be pleasant to a creature that already has famously enhanced hearing." Brainy said and Kara nodded.

"Thank you Brainy, you're right, that will definitely be helpful, though luckily, while there might be a bit of a communication gap between us, Krypto's intelligence should be around human levels, especially since it's also been boosted by the yellow sun." Kara said as she rubbed Krypto's belly and he barked appreciatively, though they were all shocked at how powerful his park was and Brainy quickly moved to put the collar on Krypto, since it was hard to tell if he or Kara was more affected by how loud the bark was, only because Kara wasn't prepared for it.

"I guess that's his version of my thunder clap." Kara said, referring to when she clapped her hands so hard that there was an actual shockwave.

"I guess so. You better start training him to control it soon. Though I hope Lena won't mind that you're gonna have another boy in your bed. Especially considering how long it's been." Alex said with a smirk.

"Very funny Alex." Kara said, knowing what she meant.

"Anyways, I hope that Lena is a dog person, since while it's not a deal breaker, it definitely reduces the chance of her sleeping in my bed anytime soon." Kara said, taking Alex aback.

"Really, you're already thinking about that?" Alex asked, wondering what the hell had happened to her innocent little sister, since even when she was with Mon-El, Alex had never seen this side of her.

"You act like Lena and I haven't been putting giving a relationship a shot off for way longer than necessary." Kara reminded her.

"Fair point. But still." Alex said.

"Relax Alex, I didn't mean anything like that, I just wanted to see the look on your face. You really think that I'd actually be that blunt about that kind of thing if I meant it?" Kara asked.

"But you've had thoughts?" Alex asked.

"Do you really want an answer to that?" Kara asked.

"I just got one and now I need to go shoot something pretending it's Lena for putting those thoughts in my head." Alex said and Kara giggled as Alex walked away from her sister, not noticing Alex pull out her phone as she did.
