Chapter 7:
The atmosphere was ready, Kai walks across the barren planet, feeling the soil. The wonder the gods could be. But his gods were all nearly extinct. He read about them all, Ra, Apophis, Ba'al, Yu, Hathor, all of them. But he knows, his god was hiding something from him, but what!?
Back on Earth, Aiden kept staring, there she was, his first ever love. The one he lost.
"Babe, we need to head back.".
"Yeah, we should.".
Trying to prevent being spotted, but luck wasn't on his side.
"Aiden?".
"Ah shit me.". He has two options, run, or fight. "Gabriela.".
"Hey. I, I wondered what happened to you, until I saw the news.".
"You can't believe everything CNN tells you.".
"Tell me about it. So, who's your friends?" she asked, giving the stink eye to Brie.
"My friend, Brogues, and my girlfriend, Brie.".
"Really, you moved on without me quite quickly.".
Brie then gets between them, "Okay, both of you, enough. Listen, I don't know who you are but let him go, and Aiden, we have a mission coming up.".
Looking at her eye-level, he does his best to put on a kind smile. "Okay. Let's go then.". When he turns to leave, she had the nerve to yell…
"So that's it huh? Your little bitch tells you what to do? What happened to you?".
Aiden stops, a twitch in his fist. How dare she!
"You ended it, sorry if you regret it.". And just like that, he and his two companions walk away.
Getting back in the truck, Aiden clenches the wheel hard. His knuckles white, you could the wheel start to crunch. Brie places her hand on his leg and immediately he calms his breath. "It's gonna be okay.".
"She was my first love; she and I were together for three years. And I fucked it up!".
Brie was stunned by his words, did their relationship mean nothing? Realizing how he sounded, he immediately corrected himself. "She's my past, your my future, I don't want anyone else.".
"Promise?".
"On my honour.". Kissing her, pulls the truck to reverse and gets them back to base.
Gabriela watches them, her fists clenched, "That's bitch stole my man, I shall reclaim what's mine.".
