Chapter 9:
The Prometheus primes itself, the crew setting course for Mars, Aiden sat next to one of the windows, sharpening and polishing his combat knife. But every few seconds, he would stare into the empty voids of space.
"Well, Aiden O'Neill, as I live and breathe.".
Aiden freezes, that voice, he knows it. "Stevie?".
Jumping up, and turning around, he could barely recognize him. Stevie was actually ripped! "Well, son of a bitch! It is you!".
The two men now, hug each other. "Damn bro, did you add an inch or two?".
"Yup.". He decided to comment on how his friend looked. "Look at you, you changed.".
"Yeah, I work on the Alpha Site. I work out with the Marines.".
"I thought you wanted to make your own company.".
"Nah, too many bills to pay. And besides, I like my current post.".
"Nice.".
The two friends start chatting, enjoying the company. They were at it for a few minutes, until Aiden heard behind him the footsteps of a woman, not just any woman, his woman. "I wondered where you were?".
"You missed me already?" she teases.
"Always.".
Stevie, who lifts an eyebrow, looks oddly at his friend. "Who's the girlfriend?".
"This is Corporal Brie Moon." Aiden boasts proudly.
"Nice to meet you, Aiden says a lot of good things about you. Saying you were his first friend.".
"I am honoured.".
It was at that moment, that Aiden and Brie were summoned to the bridge. Arriving there, Colonel Mitchell looks at the planet. "My God, look at it, you barely recognize it.".
There it was, the red barren sphere known as Mars, Green as far as the eye could see, even and ocean, rivers, lakes. Life!
"We can admire later, we got to stop these guys, now." Aiden interrupted.
Mitchell then assembles the scout team, Aiden, Brogues, Moon and Stevie, the atmosphere is safe to breathe, so all they needed now was guns and explosives.
Getting ready to be beamed down, Mitchell looks at the selected team. "SG-1 will get beamed down at your signal, good luck.".
"Thank you.".
And in a flash… they were deployed.
On the planet, Kai sat in a meditation state, focusing on his breathing, a feeling tingling in his spine, he knows that feeling, opening his eyes, he shouts to the guards, "Mol kek.".
