Chapter 17:
The team fought their way out, trying to kill the Jaffa, running fast, hiding well, Aiden called in for an airstrike as soon as they get out. But that wasn't gonna be easy, there were more Jaffa than expected. Kai, with his weird pistol, fired at them all, apparently, the gun was set to vaporize. And it worked.
Aiden stuck with his headshots.
Brie for torso shots, Brogues with his leg shots, Stevie was firing all over the place. Lucky to get a single kill.
The exit was in sight, so, gunning it, they made it out, in time for the bomb to hit the base. Sending them all flying.
"Not this shit again!" Aiden yells before falling to the ground.
Brie lands on top of him, mainly because he pulled her in. Stevie collided with a tree, dislocating his shoulder, Brogues got lucky, he was merely inches from hitting the crown jewels with a rock. "Close call.".
Kai, who somehow managed to land on his feet, pulls them all up and looks at the fire and debris, "Well, she's gone, now what do I do?".
Aiden came up to him, "Nirrti told me something, about our origin story, seems to me, we're twins.".
Kai looks at him oddly, imitating a guppy fish. "Serious? Us, twins?".
"Yep.". Aiden grabs his radio and contacts the Prometheus, "Beam us up.". With a white flash, they were gone.
On the ship, Aiden got a surprise, the crew were pointing guns at him. The lead SF looking at him and Kai. "Which one of you is Lieutenant O'Neill?".
"Right here." Aiden lifts his hand, "Relax, he's on our side.". Kai had to fight the instinct to grab his pistol. "I wish to speak with the commander of this vessel.".
The SF's look at him before escorting him, in cuffs. Aiden frowned but didn't protest, he merely looked at his whole world and smiled, "Care to get some quality time with me?".
"Indeed, I shall." Brie locks arms with him and they walk. Brogues snickers and jabs his arm into Stevie's side. "What did I miss?" the dummy asked.
Kai arrived on the bridge, where the ship commander stood Colonel Pendergast, "I am the commanding officer of this ship, you wanted to see me?".
Kai nods, "Yes sir, I am Kai, I wish to pledge my allegiance to the Tau'ri.". Pendergast lifts an eyebrow, "I am the wrong the guy to talk to. Wait until we reach Earth.".
"Understood.".
Meanwhile, alone, Aiden and Brie are relaxing in their quarters, watching the hyperspace pass them by. Brie didn't understand something, ever since they admitted their feelings for each other, their relationship was less physical, and more romantic, which she liked, knowing she didn't need to sleep with him to know they were still together. Aiden felt the same, he feels as if their relationship took a turn for the better. A more honest one.
"Do you remember when you asked me about a family?".
"Yes." She hoped he was talking about what she thinks he's thinking.
"I figured, we're both nineteen, but if we plan on being together, one of us has to transfer. I plan on returning to the SGC, think Lorne will survive without me?".
She laughs, oh poor Lorne, Lorne will never admit it, but Aiden was the glue to the team. "I think he'll get by.".
"What about you?" he asks, being serious, but mostly concern.
"I'll live." She says, kissing his cheek. Her gaze suddenly locks, her browns meeting his ocean blues, the first thing that captivated her, his eyes. Those beautiful ocean blues, she pictures those every night, on her child one day. Gosh, who knew she would be lucky enough to get such a handsome man? His ex, Gabriella was it? She was an idiot for ditching him.
Their trans gets broken with Aiden kissing her a little hard, usually when he kisses like that, it's because he doesn't believe how lucky he is, lucky to have such a sexy as hell girlfriend. "Man, I still can't believe I have you in my life.".
Brie looks him again, in the eyes, "Promise me you will never let me go.".
He nods, "On my life.".
Now, cuddling there, relaxing in the silence.
Stevie was getting his shoulder treated, his mind was clouded, his friend, got tortured, he should be in the infirmary as well, why wasn't he? What's the reason? What doesn't he know? Man, there is so much he missed out!
Brogues, found himself a closest, where he could smoke his cigarette, boy he needed it. He knows he'll die of cancer if he'll keep on smoking, but he's trying to quit, Mary is making him. Man he loves that girl, her blonde locks, her green eyes, he petite body, man, he wants to cry for not being able to hold her. "I miss you baby girl.".
